My partner and I stopped in Winchester on the way down to the New Forest and decided to eat here. I had a brie, bacon and cranberry panini and some chips. It was delicious and the chips were amazing. Thoroughly recommend

Excellent lunch stop in the heart of Winchester with an interesting and innovative menu. Kids menu was good too as my 1 year old son enjoyed the waffles. Beautiful restaurant inside and a lively atmosphere. Food was very good but not perfect.

Always a great experience at Greens. We were a small group of 5, and it was the perfect location for us. As it was sunny we chose to sit outside. The service and the food were top notch. Gorgeous meal (mushrooms on toast for me) with top quality ingredients. The food was served promptly, and we were never short of a drink. And who knew on a Wednesday, prosecco is 2 for 1! Fabulous experience, I will be back!

Always a great brunch/lunch stop with an interesting cafe bar menu and professional, friendly staff. Usually it’s superbusy and can be hard to get a table, so it was a treat to visit on a warm Sunday when lots of people had apparently opted for the outdoors. Very relaxing and pleasant. We had the vegetarian Sunday roast - a delicious mushroom roast, very generous portions and so tasty. It’s dog friendly too.

I met here with friends and none of us had been to Winchester for years. I booked this based on trip advisor reviews and so glad we did. Casual, elegant, great food, reasonable prices. Really friendly service and we didn’t feel rushed whatsoever - so nice! Goan fish cake was amazing! If we come back to Winchester to meet, we’ll certainly come back here for lunch.

Elegant and dog friendly. Very helpful staff. We had brunch, my Eggs Royale was superb. Also v. good coffee. We didn't feel hurried, just the right level of attentiveness.

Fantastic Sunday lunch, freshly cooked and delicious. The veggie option was excellent and deserves a special mention. The service was wonderful, friendly and professional. What a fantastic wine bar and kitchen. We visited Winchester yesterday as we are planning to move to the surrounding area from Windsor. What a great city, much going on, and many restaurants with outside dining (unlike Windsor) in the many historical streets. Once again, we picked up Greens from a Goole search whilst there. A warm greeting on arrival, helpful and engaging staff allowing us to move tables a couple of times to get the best view 😀. We ordered two glasses of wine. A glass of rose (a great wel known brand) and a white Rioja. Both wines we delicious. The menu did not show a cheese platter, but we were informed that it was available. Their prices were encouraging good value given the cost of living squeeze we all find ourselves trying to manage. It felt like going back in time, being extremely well looked after and throughly enjoying the whole experience. Sadly, driving otherwise, I could have spent a lot longer in this fine establishment. Please keep up the good work and thank the front of house and kitchen staff from us. 👍

We had a wonderful evening at Greens on Valentine's evening, celebrating an 80th Birthday with family and friends in the private dining room. Liz and the team could not have been more thoughtful and attentive. The room was set up and decorated beautifully, the food was outstanding (we were able to pre-order from an excellent menu which had been prepared for the occasion) and the service was impeccable. I can't recommend Greens highly enough. Thank you.

After trawling the streets at Christmas market time and being turned away because we had no booking we were recommended Greens by staff at another restaurant. There were four of us all ladies of a certain age, all a bit weary after hours of shopping. We stumbled into Greens and were greeted by Liz, one of the staff who flashed us a beaming smile and welcomed us warmly into the restaurant where we had a good hot cuppa and a brunch. The staff were attentive throughout and did all they could to make our visit a pleasant one. We are so pleased to have found this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for pleasant surroundings, good food with exceptionally pleasant staff. They'll be seeing us again.

Fabulous from the time you enter you feel you are welcomed by Peter and his well trained and amazing staff make us feel very welcomed by remembering us when we visit always have breakfast or brunch cooked and presented to perfection. What we like is that you are able to remove or add your preference as to what you wish on your plate. We also visit in the evening for our cocktail and other drinks. Staff are amazing like the day staff, always polite and have a laugh and chat with us. Honestly say it will be very hard to find a restaurant where it I so clean, food cooked to perfection and served to you by well trained and wonderful staff we certainly know where we will be visiting again on our next visit to Winchester. To Peter, his chef kitchen staff, day and evening staff we wish you all a happy Christmas and a very happy New Year.

Had a large family meal at Greens in their upper function room. The table was laid out beautifully in a square so that everyone could talk to each other. The food was excellent, large portions and service whilst organising via the phone and online was great. The young waitress worked very hard, bringing food out quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend if you need a function room booking in Winchester. Thanks Liz and team.

Friendly efficient service. Great breakfast and coffee. We had crumpets with egg and chorizo, waffle with bacon and maple syrup, avocado on sourdough with tomatoes and feta and eggs Benedict. All delicious

Love the fact this is a family run business, atmosphere is amazing, service is amazing (friendly, attentive and really nice), the food, wow was equally amazing. Lovely homemade and delicious food. We had pie and mash with fresh cabbage and the All day English breakfast and a burger. All were hot and tasty. Had to bring the pram upstairs but there was a bit of space for it and we got a high chair too. Staff were extremely polite and helpful.

Greens’ atmosphere especially on weekends is busy and joyful. The services provided by the bar staff is always amazing and the drinks including cocktails are great too. No wonder this is one of the most popular bars in Winchester.

17 of us visited for coffee & Cake after the wedding of Louise & Lucy, plenty of champagne as well, the cakes were delicious, lots of choice , I had Victoria sponge, just yummy ! The venue was perfect for us, we went upstairs, a special mention to our waitress , sorry we didn’t get a name, soo lovely and friendly, took our orders without pen and paper, wow ! Good memory. Without us asking she offered to take our group photo, proceeded to move tables out of the way, then she stood on a chair to take our photo, much appreciated.
