Called into the Tea Rooms on the off-chance with several friends and the staff kindly found us a table (many tables were reserved). We all opted for granary bread sandwiches, some which came with a generous salad and crisps and others went for the doorstep bacon sandwiches, which were enormous! Excellent pots of tea to drink. Obviously already well known in the area as there was a queue for tables, so make sure to book beforehand. The Tea Rooms are set at the back of Southwick Stores which comprises a village shop and post office. The shop was the best stocked of any village shop I have seen in a long while

My friends and I visited today for the first time and decided to have an afternoon tea. The sandwiches were amazing!!! The bread was soft, delicious crusts and deeply filled. I had prawn Marie Rose and smoked salmon with cream cheese - both were delicious. The scones were lovely, with individual portions of ham and clotted cream. There was a good choice of cake; I opted for the lemon drizzle which I enjoyed. My friend had chocolate fudge which was an enormous portion - she had to randoms home with her! I will definitely be back!

I was recommended this place by a friend so I thought I would try it out. While the menu was reasonable choice wise it was a little confusing to know if I had to order and pay at the counter first, or if it was table service. It seems there is a mixture of both. I ordered the single afternoon tea at a reasonable £14. There were options of various sandwich fillings, scones and a choice of cake along with the option of tea or coffee The portions were decent and the scone was heated which was lovely. I would be back again, perhaps Ona nicer day to sit outside as it was a little crowded in the place.

The food was fabulous. I did though feel embarrassed by the waitress. We ordered three bacon doorsteps which were absolutely fabulous. The waitress came out with two and said two bacon doorsteps, I said we ordered 3 her answer was immediately, I only have two hands, she could have just said yes the third is on the way. I felt the response a bit embarrassing in front of friends.

What a lovely way to spend a Saturday aft with friends having a cream tea in the historic village in the Hampshire countryside An excellent cream tea. The sandwiches great choice made with excellent granary bread. Between use we had tuna and cucumber prawn eggs and cheese Hama and pickle. A choice of scones which were lovely and war with jam and cream naturally. Plus a choice of cake from the very extensive cake menu. Booking recommended. Plus the shop sells such interesting things!

A pouring wet day but had arranged to meet my daughter here as it is half way between our homes. Greeted by very friendly staff and thankfully shown to an indoor table. Ordered 2 large Americanos and 2 poached eggs on toast. Served by another friendly waitress. The coffee was hot and lovely. The food arrived before we'd finished our coffee, always a bonus. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection. The toilets were clean. The staff were all lovely and the food delicious. What's not to like. We then had a look in the shop and a wander round the village in the rain. We will be back on a sunnier day and maybe sit in the garden.

a beautifuly quaint tea room nestled in the heart of an adylic village the decore seemed to be very navyesk with various pictures of vessles and service personel hats adorning the light grey walls we were showed to a window seat and were given menus after roughly 10 mins a verry smiley and helpful member of staff took our order a (latte a coke and an afternoon tea for 2 ) while we waited for our food and drink to arive we had the chance to soak up the true village atmosphere it was fairly busy day so the all the staff were occupied taking care of the other customers there were old tins placed on the clean window sills possibly a nod to the history of the village and little jars of sugar cubes on the spotless tables with napkins and cutlery tidily placed in square wooden containers our drinks arrived with the customary foam art on the latte and a glass bottle of coke with a glass and some ice which was a pleasent surprise our food then arrived a plate of sandwiches ham cheese and home made coleslaw, egg mayo and cress and tuna mayo that were all delicious made with freash bread that tasted home baked with lots of filling in all the sandwiches ( what i would call door step sandwiches) the second plate had our 2 fruit scones with butter (they ran out of clotted cream) and a small pot of strawberry jam each the scones were incredibly delicious crumbly yet spongy the texture blew my mind the last plate carried our 2 slices of cake a victoria sponge and a slice of banana loaf, my banana loaf was perfect moist but not to stodgy and so flavourful on the whole it was a plesent expereince with amazing polite staff and incredible food which was very well presented i would and will definately reccomend to anyone looking for ideas for eating out i will definately be going back for the ploughmans A*****

We stumbled upon this cafe after coming to visit the pretty village, a local (and fellow dog walker) recommended we try the tea rooms and we were certainly not disappointed. The garden was lovely, with plenty of benches and pretty planting but we chose to sit inside. It was not a problem we had our dog and we were greeted by a young and friendly waitress. We were offered a couple of tables, chose the one we preferred (next to the display of delicious sweet treats) and were handed menus. The cream teas being served at other tables looked delicious but we were only there for a quick bite, as we had made plans for later. After a short while perusing the menu another friendly and smiley waitress took our order, tea for two, one slice of Victoria sandwich and one slice of lemon and blueberry cake. After a short wait our order arrived and I have to say, it really was the nicest Victoria sandwich I have ever eaten. The cake was fresh, soft, sweet and buttery, the buttercream incredibly well made, smooth, light and airy, simply perfection. My husbands cake was of the same excellent quality. On enquiring we were informed the lady who owns the tea room bakes the cakes, she is a very talented baker. Given the fact the cakes were excellent and of a generous size along with a large pot of tea and a large jug of fresh milk, I could find no fault with neither the incredibly friendly service nor the food. All this and dog friendly too. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone living nearby, visiting ir passing through to definitely go!

Greeted by Lovely friendly staff, who showed us to our table and gave us a menu. She came back a little while later and took our order. Food came, nicely presented and the plate was full. Also nice and hot. She popped back to ask if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything else. Which it was and we ordered another coffee. It's a lovely Tearoom, with great food and with a great wartime atmosphere. We will and have been back since for lunch 😋 🙂 Recommended 😊

As my friend lives in this little village we walked here not sure where you park if driving here as couldn't spot a nearby car park alot of people seemed to park on the main street outside. The tea rooms it self were very clean and tidy we sat indoors as all the outdoor seats were taken. There wasn't any clear instructions when we were seated so we thought perhaps you go to the counter as we had waited for a while without anyone coming over to take the order. The lady on the counter was quite blunt and rude telling us someone will be over to take your order! This same member of staff again brought over our drinks almost slabbing them down should have noticed her name she was the only reason this cafe didn't score a 5.The other staff members seemed happy and helpful the food was so tasty and decent amount for the price which the food got brought out quite quickly.I would recommend this place and will be going back again next time it might score 5 out of 5

Nice cosy village tearoom. Lots of history in the village too. Food is of really good quality, so prices do reflect it but not over the top. Cakes are amazing, I always have one to take home for later.Advisable to book if there is more than 2 of you as it gets busy.Summer months are lovely there as they have a garden and you can take your dogs with you.

After a heavy dinner with friends the night before the excellent and enormous breakfast proportions served up at the Tea Room helped us soak up the alcohol from the night before, very much the morning after the night before! Friendly staff, and large portions of home cooked fresh food - a delight.

Enjoyed a really lovely breakfast ,the service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Very accommodating when it comes to varying diets or fussy customers. Will definitely be going back.

Who knew breakfast could feel like such a treat! Fantastic quality and delicious. Quick service which is important when you are hungry for the first meal of the day! Lovely atmosphere and really nicely decorated. Vintage perfection.

We stopped here for a coffee and were very impressed with the quality of the food served. The staff were very nice and efficient and the little shop and Post Office attached sold some lovely local produce.

Lovely afternoon tea this is a great place to go in the summer but not much room for sitting indoors in the winter as it’s quite a small tearoom ! It can get very noisy as it echos in the room and they do have music on quite loud in the background which should’ve turn’t down when it’s busy !

This is a great little cafe. Can feel a little cramped when full and the weather is not good enough to utilise the outside tables but the food makes up for it. Would recommend booking at peak times.

This has to be our new favourite place to come. My friends and I can never decide which sandwich to have so order different ones and then share them. Perfect. It's small so I would advise booking in advance as its popular for good reason.

Lovely place specialising in chocolates and indeed hot chocolate. Popped in today for a vegan hot chocolate, pot of tea and two cinnamon buns. All really good and a couple of salted caramel pieces of chocolate as tasters too. Will happily return to try some more and perhaps buy some chocolates too.

The Full English melted my brain, my family will never know me as the same person I once was. I arise Sir Holborn of the Orangery.

My first time coming in here and I was not expecting the food to be so tasty! So much choice and not the bland food you always think of when you think of vegan choices. Pleasantly surprised.

Often visit this pub for a meal. On this occasion very disappointing menu. For example, No chicken on menu, only one vegetarian option which was a Balti Pie. Nothing like the busy pub we have visited before. Perhaps others feel as we do about this menu? Overall, for the first time not sure if we will bother visiting again
