A brilliant place for breakfast, just a stone’s throw from the High Street. A warm welcome from smiling staff and the best porridge bowl ever.

Only called in for a coffee, but it was excellent. Also, unlike a nearby cafe they were very happy to accept my cash. Thank you

Disappointing and mediocre food. The bhajee fritter was cold and tastless. Salads lacked any flavour. We had to wait ages for a cheese toastie to be made and the staff put milk in a fruit smoothie. Wouldn't recommend.

For years I have been to similar places but in other towns and have long wished there was a meat free eco friendly place in Winchester. Now there is and thank goodness it’s Open House Deli, because they got the formula right. I love this place and it’s my default go to location for eating in town. The food, service, ambience and value are all spot on. It would be nice to have a wider choice of wine or beer to accompany their great food but that’s a very minor point. Overall, it’s the best place to be in Winchester if you want to eat and drink without the people on the next table eating some stinky fried animal carcass. 10 out of 10.

The staff are so warm and lovely, and the environment is spotless. The brie and sweet chilli toastie was to die for and the coffee on par with this. Will definitely come back

Lovely coffee and breakfast. However the premises are cold and kind of clinical and echoey, not cosy at all. There also all the fumes and smells coming from the kitchen, which I didn’t find pleasant early in the morning.

Heading back from Southampton took a detour into Winchester. Battled the traffic and finally found somewhere to park. Wandered into town and came across this Deli in an attempt to find some food.It was more afternoon than a late lunch so not a huge amount left but the team did what they could and brought out more salad. I had an amazing tomato salad and sweetcorn fritter. For an ardent meat eater, it was all rather a revelation. Everyone really enjoyed their food immensely. Whilst were considering sitting outside, the sun was too hot so used the nice and spacious inside area. Really, all very tranquil and soothing.Would highly recommend.

Wonderful, friendly staff and a great choice of salads, vegan and gluten free options (including cakes). They also now stock fruit and vegetables and various eco-friendly items. It is a bit pricey but you do have to bear in mind that everything is made fresh on the day from local ingredients.

It is lockdown so we thought we would do something different. We ordered the fill your fridge for £25 and shared it. Every one tried out the different dishes. We enjoyed it all. When eating we tried to work out what we were eating. There was a lot of food. There are so many ingredients in each dish that it would be difficult to replicate at home. You certainly get your five a day and lots of fibre so you don t feel hungry at the end. We certainly had fun and will do it again with a different selection. It is lockdown so we got it delivered

Lovely cafe which also has a bike repair workshop and sells fresh groceries! It sounds like a mishmash but it works! I had a nice Lemonaid+, a slice of lemon and blackberry (or was it blueberry?) cake and my partner had tea. The staff was very friendly too! Great place!

I happened upon this place having discovered that Patisserie Valerie had closed. However, this was a very pleasant surprise and what seems to be a unique combination of cafe, deli and cycle shop with several vegan items for sale as well! The cafe was certainly excellent, bright and spacious with very modern comfortable seating.I was there around nine, I had a latte, cinnamon bun and fabulous carrot cake. The staff were well organised and super efficient.

Yes Open House Deli is an ethical cafe. The emphasis is on local sourcing, zero waste etc but it doesn't forget that good food should look appealing and taste greatThis cafe has a proper chef who understands that and his food beats hands down many offerings in trendier Winchester places The staff are great and its Covid hygiene routine is excellentIts family friendly and Winchester needs more places like this that actually take pride in serving good food

Lovely cake but the salad servings have recently got an awful lot smaller and a mixed salad (with two choices) has recently increased from £4.50 to £6.50 which seems to be particularly large increase (particularly considering the new smaller portion sizes!). I probably still would return but definitely not as frequently as I have done to date which is a shame - it was always my go to when having a wander through town but will now be putting Rawberry’s salads to the top of my list.

Choice of protein plus salads would be my go to place for lunch and love the zero waste efforts of Open House Deli. For my taste the salads needed a bit more seasoning and zing, but enjoyable and yummy cake and drink. Good for gluten and dairy free.

The Open House Deli is in the old post office building across from the Brooks shopping centre. It shares a space with the bike hub. Alongside food it has a range of reusable and sustainable items for sale from coffee flasks to loo roll! There is a nice range of food to build a plate for lunch from various salads and dips and toppers. They have vegan, veggie and even meat toppers. They also do a range of coffees (I had the latte but found that it needed sugar as it was a bit bitter). Some nice cakes too.

Had a delicious salad plate for lunch. Frittata, stuffed peppers and a choice of mixed salads. Very tasty, everything made from scratch and no plastic in sight. You can also buy a range of environmentally friendly items, from natural toothpaste and soap, to bamboo products and beeswax wrappers that replace the dreaded cling film.

I visited during half term. The cafe had a lovely bustling atmosphere and the sweet corn (and pumpkin?) chowder was one of the most delicious lunches I have ever had in Winchester. It was superb. Wonderful retail selection and yummy coffee. Will be back!

The food is fantastic. I really like the salads for lunch, I've had some of the best salads ever. One a while ago with slices of Brussels sprout was inspired but they're all good. But right now I'm sitting with a friend with a turmeric latte and we both love the music they're playing and it's relaxed and happy in here and the staff are lovely. This is my favourite place in Winchester and I'm so grateful it's here.

I love this cafe and come here regularly for elevenses and lunch. They do a generous pot of leaf tea and great coffee. Fresh salads and frittatas for lunch a very tasty, healthy treat and at a reasonable price. I love their cakes and little energy balls if you want a smaller treat. There's a quiet, unhurried and relaxing atmosphere ... until today when they turned the music on. It was awful - strident and so loud we practically had to shout. Please, please - if you really must have music, let it be relaxing and very, very background or I won't be able to come again.

.. a pleasant quirkiness – not least by virtue of sharing it’s space with a bike shopMy wife and I both had the frittata and shared three of the splendid salads between us. Ample portions – needless to say I had to help my wife out a little. No problem there; I always enjoy good flavourful grub, which this certainly was,We will be back next time we lunch in Winchester.Recommended.

I love having a salad lunch here, very original and tasty salads. We are not talking lettuce and tomato, we are talking of much more substantial salads that include roast veg/potato/beets/green beans/nuts, all with nice dressings.

Great atmosphere with plenty of space on offer. Beautifully displayed fresh food options, the salads are delicious and not surprising that one or two favourites may run out if you're not quick enough! No matter - the alternatives to try are just as good and the flavour combinations really work. A lot of thought has gone into this establishment and it really shows - from the welcoming friendly staff through to the plastic free shopping which is on offer on the premises. Well done Open House Deli - a refreshingly different establishment which deserves every success.

A delicious lunch of 3 salads with topping combined beets, sweet potato, Isle of Wight tomatoes and loads more. A feast for my eyes and tummy. Loved the range of Kombucha too. This Deli is situated right in the heart of Winchester a very short walk from the middle brook street car park. There is no on-street parking near by, not even for blue badge holders. Situated in what used to be the old main post office this is a capacious cafe with a bike hub is the rear. Pleanty of covers, eco products also sold. Great coffee. Limited selection of cakes on the Saturday morning when we visited and some very interesting looking hot meals. Really well worth trying if you are in the area. Flat access via a ramp avoids the small steps up from the pavement.

Breakfast costs 16 pounds for 2 small salmon-on-top-of pastry things and came out barely warm. Absolutely not worth the time. I swear, people in Winchester have too much money to throw around. The man manager/waiter is lovely though.

Arfter hearing all the hype about this place me and my partner decided to try it First impression where verry good we got told there were no tables for 45 mins because it was busy. The system they use to call you for your table is brilliant We were served by a young lady who was very aggy. When I forgot to order a coffee, it sempt like a massive deal when I re asked her when she came back with are other drinks It took a wile for are food to come out with was understandable due to how busy they were When the food arrived, I had ordered the chicken eggs benedic. This was extremely dry even with the hollandaise sauce (witch didn't exactly have any flavour to it) My partner ordered the pancakes that were very disappointing, they had no flavour to them and also verry dry. They also tasted of old oil It's such a shame we have a bad exspiriance with the chandler's ford shop as we had hurd such good things I also tried to look on their website for an email to their customer relations but could not find one

Lovely place specialising in chocolates and indeed hot chocolate. Popped in today for a vegan hot chocolate, pot of tea and two cinnamon buns. All really good and a couple of salted caramel pieces of chocolate as tasters too. Will happily return to try some more and perhaps buy some chocolates too.
