What a delightful café! We visited Great Missenden for the St Andrews 2024 Christian Literature Festival and Matilda’s was recommended by the event organisers. The staff who served us were lovely! Food came quickly and was delicious. Prices were affordable and fair. Totally recommend for a tasty lunch.

I have been going to Rex since it opened many years ago . When I moved forty miles away from the area I decided to put in an order for bread and cakes every six weeks when I go to my hairdressers ( still in that area) . We don’t eat any other bread ( me sourdough and my husband the lovely Filone that they slice and put in two bags per loaf for me.) I can’t resist ordering some of the divine cakes too , and am eating one of their hot Cross buns as I write this ! Yes it is expensive but worth every penny for,the quality .

Nena makes one of the best espressos I’ve had in the UK. The coffee is awesome. I drive ten miles to have a coffee here rather than have a vastly inferior coffee locally. Their Pasta Del Nata’s are wonderful, the pastry is fine and flakey/crispy, and the custard perfect, not overly sweet. They really delight the senses with a light dusting of cinnamon. Every pasty I’ve tried is fresh and delicious, the cheesecake is an experience. If there was a criticism, I’d say their sourdoughs are a bit light, not quite as springy crumb as others, but otherwise, it’s the perfect bakery/cafe/restaurant. 10/10!!

They don't accept reservations It is better to arrive around 10 AM or noon on a busy weekend so that tables are available quickly Outdoor and indoor seating available Indoor seating has tables for two which can't be joined together and bench for 4-6 people Seating is quite congested Vegetarian and non vegetarian entrees. Order at the register Service is fairly quick Servings are good and most dishes are cooked well Price moderate

It was a gorgeous day, hottest of the year so far according to the Met Office, so I went to Chesham to have a look around this rather nice little market town. Unfortunately, being mid-week, it was not 'Market Day' but still a very nice place to see. Lunchtime drew near and my eye was caught by 'Wotnot' a Vintage Café at the end of the High Street. This really is a delightful little café. The interior is rather small but extremely cosy, and cool, with a fan helping. Inside there are small tables, chairs and benches and lots of cushions making it very comfortable to sit and eat. There are also tables and chairs outside the front where you can sit and 'people-watch'. It was a bit hot and bright for me to do that today. Nostalgia reigns supreme here with lots of toys and other things from the past. Many from the era of my own childhood in the 1950s with Noddy, Big Ears and Mr Plod sitting on the window sill, Green Shield Stamps (Remember those?) and lots of things to look at. The owner is a very amiable chap indeed and we had a very nice chat. He told me about some of the things in his establishment as well as other attractions in the town such as the 'Good Earth Gallery'. I just had a snack for lunch, white coffee, a sliced turkey sandwich on seeded bread with salad, but both were very tasty indeed, quickly served and reasonably priced. This little café is now on my list of places to return to and I can thoroughly recommend it to everyone.

Stopped there while out on a cycle ride. Pointed to and ordered what I thought was the last piece of a lemon drizzle cake. Disappointingly, they cut that in half!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Lion of Beaconsfield. As soon as we entered, we were warmly greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. We loved the ambience of the restaurant and had a thoroughly enjoyable time from start to finish. We will be back!

From first contact a few weeks before, through to our celebration meal, the Queen's Head exceeded all expectations and truly delivered on their strap line of "nothing is too much trouble". Though we ourselves no longer live locally we needed to find a venue in the area for a celebration dinner for some 25 family and friends, aged from 6 to 76-ish. From the outset the team, headed by Manuela front of house and Sno in the kitchen, were very responsive and flexible to our need for an exclusive dining area for a complete Saturday evening - unique amongst all the other venues we contacted. Having first enjoyed Thai food here some 35 years ago it was great to return and be able to let all our guests make their own advance choices from the extensive menu. The food was served freshly cooked and exquisitely presented on the plate. All of our guests were very complimentary about the ambiance of the upstairs dining area and the quality and quantity of the food. Thank you QH for a very enjoyable celebration dinner.
