The location is great with a medium-sized car park. The interior is well done, with clean bathrooms. Lovely food, the portions are small, but it is high-quality produce. All staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great restaurant.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Jolly Farmer, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the stunning setting. The menu is superb, offering a fantastic selection of dishes that are both creative and delicious. Every meal we tried was cooked to perfection, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. What’s even better is that the food is very reasonably priced, making the experience all the more enjoyable. The service was truly outstanding. The staff were not only super friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and drinks selection. A special shoutout to CHARLOTTE, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable—her recommendations were spot on, and her warm, welcoming nature added an extra touch of excellence to the evening. If you’re looking for a place that combines great food, a wonderful setting, and top-tier service, The Jolly Farmer is an absolute must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

So pleased I found this place as its the perfect halfway point to meet friends/family in London. Second visit and food just as brilliant as the first time! Really lovely service & staff who are always so helpful with my annoying list of allergens. They check with the Chef who makes some tweaks meaning I dont get food envy :) Had the Pork Ribeye (again) which is sublime - cooked to absolute perfection and you can cut it with the back of a knife as its so amazingly tender.

What a great find. This place is fab, the service is great and friendly and the atmosphere and the menu is very French-esque, which I love! I could have water everything on the menu but went for the French onion soup and crab and sweetcorn bites. Presented great and tasted superb. Moved on to the steak and ale pie for mains with the mushroom tartine (form the starters). Great presentation and flavour. Finished off with the sticky toffee pudding… This is a must if you are in the area or even passing through. Ps - wine list is fab and a variety!

A quaint little place in the country with a chic and resplendent interior oozing charm. Friendly staff and delightful food await within. Went with family and ordered the pan fried chicken supreme with mustard sauce, mash, green beans lardons and mushrooms in addition to a trout fillet with prawn and white wine butter, potatoes and wilted kale and finally the cod fillet and butter bean cassoulet with chorizo. I loved my chicken supreme with the chicken boasting a perfectly crisp skin and succulent middle. The mash was rich and creamy and the mustard sauce brought it all together superbly. Opted for the apple and blackberry crumble for dessert and the standards remained flying. The blackberry was tart complementing the poached like consistency of the apple rounded off with the cooling crème fraiche. A wonderful place that I would recommend to anyone who likes pub food taken up a notch.

We booked for my birthday, a usual clash with Christmas festivities, the team ensured there was no overlap and the birthday acknowledged. The roasts were plentiful and all enjoyed, extra gravy added to soak up the huge Yorkshire pudding. Apple crumble and custard was lovely, though we had food envy when we saw the huge puffy souffle's being delivered to diners on a nearby table. Our main server was efficient, pleasant and helpful, keeping on top of the busy dining room. Thank you for a wonderful visit, you're now on our No.1 list for Sunday Roasts, but also keen to try other items from the menu. Drink options were plentiful. Best wishes, Debbie

I have become a regular for meals at the Jolly Farmer. The food, service and atmosphere are first rate and lucky for me it's just on my doorstep. My family and friends are also very impressed and regularly ask if we can go there if we are thinking of a place to dine out. I can't recommend the place enough, really worth a visit.

A Christmas meal for our club. The food selection was not very wide, but was good quality. Some of the diners would have liked larger portions.

Didn't get a chance today experience the food or drink 17 people turned up to have a meal and a drink , unfortunately it was cashless payment card only, very disappointing, some of our party believe we should have a choice of payment,. Just seems to be a great waist and customer loss, as each person was prepared to pay at least £70 . But they let us leave.

Top tier Sunday roast. Generous portions and free refill on roast potatoes and gravy, as well as a high quality of meat produce. The service was excellent, friendly staff who were very attentive. Highly recommend if you're after a cosy and welcoming pub, for great food!

Always loved going here with my family but had such incredible service from Alicia today that it was worth a review! Food and drinks were delivered quickly and everything was cooked to perfection, perfect place for Sunday dinner and friendly staff, definitely coming back soon.

The food was bland and disappointing and the service was slow. A disappointing experience for the whole group, unfortunately. The staff were friendly and courteous though and parking was easy.

Lovely warm gastro pub. The food was presented well and tasted delicious. I had the super green bulgur salad which was very yummy, along with the sticky toffee pudding. The service is quick, with attentive and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our dining experience.

Fantastic. My brother and I took the family here for our mum’s Birthday in August. Warm welcome. Great selection of food and reasonably priced. Decor is beautiful. The staff were very polite and accommodating. My mother was given a glass of Prosecco on the house to celebrate her Birthday which was a really lovely touch. My baby nephew also joined us and the restaurant was well equipped and family friendly. The cocktail BOGOF was a real hit too offering some really premium drinks. When we left there was some live music about to start which is another great bonus. It’s rare for me to give 5/5 but this was honestly well deserved and we will all definitely be returning. Thank you for a great experience.

The Jolly Farmer has totally lost it with their food I used to love going to this place for the steaks as they used to do them really well. Sadly my was barely Luke warm. I note a similar review from a fellow diner recently The rest of my party's food was okay and the ambience is very good as well as the service and the bar. As we came for the steak I have to true to myself and give them only 1 bubble in contrast to the below As it happens I went to the Chef & Brewer (Ethorpes) about 1 mile from them a few days later and having had this experience at the Jolly Farmer asked if the steaks were hot (temperature wise) The waitress advised - it will be - otherwise it is going right back until I get you one that you are satisfied with THE CONTRAST IS WORTH NOTING - equally the Jolly Farmer have a mandatory service charge applied for "my" convenience whilst the Ethorpes leave it to your discretion. Guess who deserves the mandatory service charge

Really lovely restaurant and the staff are really friendly and helpful, our waiter was Stephen and he was so lovely and full of energy. The food was absolutely delicious and they had a nice selection of Rosè

I have been visiting The Jolly Farmer and its sister restaurant The White Bear for many years and it always scored 5 out of five. Sadly last night's visit to The Jolly Farmer was different. The cheese souffle which has always been delicious lacked flavour and was nowhere near as light and fluffy as it used to be. The cheese sauce was cold and so thick it would not pour out of its container. The steaks were tough and presentation was poor. The duck and fish were good. Coffees and hot chocolate were tepid. I hope this was a one off and my next visit will be back to normal.

Had a brilliant evening for my anniversary, I came here because this is the place we went on our first date. The service of which was by Steven, of whom was very courteous in manner and exceptionally knowledgeable about the dishes. This is 100% recommend coming (when Stevens working).

4 of us visited for the first time since the refurb Service was lovely, decor was lovely. Food was mediocre at best and certainly not worth the money. I ordered a burger which was very dry. Another ordered a medium steak which was rare, to be fair it was sent back and remedied. Wine was expensive at £20 for a half bottle of rose. I’m actually sadly disappointed.

We had a lovely warm welcome from Toby and had amazing service from Mel, she was so friendly and attentive! We had the roast duck, roast beef and sticky toffee pudding. The food was phenomenal, especially the meat which was so incredibly tender. Could not recommend The Jolly Farmer enough!

Meal out with 2 families, 8 people in total. First time here and impressed with a lovely pub that also offers very good food. Had the duck which was very well cooked, pink meat but crispy skin the way it should be. Others mostly had the steak frites that was a good size steak well cooked with nice salad and fries. 1 trout fillet that looked great. Half a chicken also looked good. Service good, lovely friendly people.

Met a friend here on Monday Lunchtime! It was absolutely fantastic and our waiter Veylon was superb. Attentive, professional and made our experience as good as the food (which was excellent). It has been awhile since we have had true service anywhere lately but The Jolly Farmer gets a 10/10 all round. The food was fresh, tasty 😋 and cooked to perfection. This will be our new favourite local hangout. Cannot recommend enough 🌟

A lovely pub restaurant, beautifully decorated and with a relaxed feel. The food and the service were faultless. Very accomodating with the menu. Our waiter, Surajit Ghosh looked after us well as did all thev staff and we are already looking forward to visiting again.

Really enjoyable lunch in a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. The welcome and service were very good, something many pubs, bars and restaurants seem totally unable to provide now a days. The Summer a la carte menu offers a wide variety. The quality of the produce, the preparation, cooking and presentation of the dishes was excellent. Yes of course we will be returning!

Staff here seem to be annoyed at serving. The bar was littered with empty glasses, and all tables were booked. Leaving only the cluttered bar to sit. I even caught a member of staff picking their nose and then making drinks. Won't return in a hurry.

Lovely pub and good service. However ordered a portion of chips and was absolutely flabbergasted by the portion size, was probably c.14 chips. Was pretty disappointed but having said that they chips were really good!

The refit has improved the venue ,it's comfortable but was busy so noisy . Our table was a bit close to others , so it's not that great for a romantic first date . Menu is unchanged post refit .

We have frequented this Pub many times and enjoyed it there. But last evening we went for the 1st time to the newly refurbished version. Food was good, service good. Unfortunately the tables are way too close together. I found after joking several times with neighbouring tables about the proximity of us all. That the evening sunk into a silence or private whispering, which you could all hear as you were so close. Come on Raymond take at least 1x table each bench row. Give us all some privacy/intimacy if we want that.

Visited the Jolly Farmer for the first time Sunday. I can honestly say it is the best Sunday roast I've had for a very long time. Moreover the staff are very friendly and attentive the pub is lovely and well decorated. Thank you Jolly Farmer for a wonderful lunch. Will definitely be back soon.

Lovely menu and beautifully presented food at reasonable prices. It was a little bit quiet on the lunchtime sitting, but we would come back here perhaps in the evening or weekend. Service was excellent and the food tasted great.

A very enjoyable Sunday lunch with great food and a welcome amount of attention from staff. Even the dog was catered for!

We arrived for a pre-booked table to celebrate my birthday this weekend. The restaurant was averagely busy and there wasn't a staff member in sight. We waited 20 minutes before being asked if we would like any drinks. When we asked the waiter if he was working alone, he replied "well I'm ready for you now". We decided to order our food and drinks at the same time to avoid any further delay. From the point of ordering our drinks, we waited an additional 20 minutes to receive them so entertained ourselves watching the chefs prepare food and leave it on the pass whilst continuously ringing the bell in the hope that the non existent waiting staff would take the meals to the tables. When the drinks did arrive, again after having sat on the on bar for so long that we were tempted to go and collect them ourselves, there was one missing which took a further 5 minutes to arrive. The food arrived fairly quickly in comparison to the drinks order, but given that it had been sat on the pass, the chips were cold, portions were tiny and the standard of food was generally underwhelming. To add to the chaos, part of our meal had to be served by the chef as the poor young girl who was trying to hold the whole place together had burst into tears. The "manager" to whom we had already expressed our disappointment then decided to confront her in front of the whole restaurant which clearly mortified her and left everyone feeling incredibly uncomfortable. Overall the whole experience was a real disappointment and my birthday meal was ruined. We didn't pay a service charge as the management was dreadful, but gave the young waitress a tip directly as none of the issues were her fault at all.

Another great lunch at the Jolly Farmer. The server suggested the bread and dip was very good. We both had fish and chips and then shared he sticky toffee pudding and pistachio souffle. Hard to say which pudding was better, both were amazing. Lovely service and a nice setting. We will be back.

This was the first time we (myself & my parents) had been to the Jolly Farmer. When we got shown to our table a lovely waitress came and straight away asked how we all were, and if we had any allergies. On looking at the wine list my mother was unsure which Rosé to have so our waitress came with little taster. We place our order, and the atmosphere was lovely, there wasn’t loud music to try to talk over. Although we were in the bar because the restaurant was fully booked, they didn’t forget us. The food was lovely Our waitress……. Ellie was fantastic, she instantly knew her knowledge on the food, she definitely had a great sense of humour and was comfortable chatting with us. We had such an enjoyable afternoon we wasn’t rushed it was a friendly enjoyable atmosphere

We were in the area and wanted a light lunch. Sausage baguette was fine and beer good the cost was more expensive than expected and I was not given a receipt. However we had to return to the area the following week and this was a convenient place for lunch. Again the cost was more than expected and I was given only the credit card receipt with the total amount. I queried the cost and was informed a 10% gratuity had been added. I always expect to have gratuity/service added to my bill in a restaurant with a properly laid table and waiting service and am often happy to add more for good service but on this occasion I had ordered at the bar and been handed my drinks, cutlery and paper napkins which I took to a very ordinary pub table in the bar. When I queried the cost I was refunded the gratuity but I will find somewhere else for lunch should I be in the area again.

It’s been a while since visiting and we won’t leave it so long again. Sunday lunch was really tasty. Seating comfy. Service perfect.

Strange experience. Have been many times and always good. Popped in Sunday for the roast and hugely disappointed. The beef was tasteless . Huge yorkshire pudding which was dry and very crisp that it just fell apart into scraps. The one roast potato on the plate was warm in the middle and cold outside. Clearly been microwaved and had an horrible oily taste. You can order more potatoes but as they were so horrible not worth it. A few tablespoons of sides . Cauliflower cheese, suede. The vegetarian beetroot parcel was disgusting. We told the waitress but she didn’t say anything. I would come again as their normal non roast dishes are good. The starters are very good but for Sunday roast go elsewhere . Tables are crammed together more so than in the past.

We visited the Jolly Farmer on the 7th January based on its good reviews. Firstly couldn’t get to park on site and had to leave the car down the road next to a building site. On entering it’s clear the tables are crammed in and it’s extremely noisy and not conducive for talking. The waiter didn’t have a clue and didn’t lol interested. Firstly out of a choice of 2 roast diners we were informed no chicken, which I was looking forward to. Then it turned up with all the wrong veg as they ran out of that also. Apparently 2 roast potatoes is enough along with the small portions of everything, including a tasteless cauliflower cheese that apparently needed its own pot for some strange reason. Not great and over priced. Looks like greed was at the forefront and why they ran out of everything and crammed people in. Avoid

My wife and I had two courses. I had the fish soup which was delicious and we both had the slow cooked beef which was also lovely. The only downside was that the restaurant was quite cold. We were advised that he heating had been turned up but the radiator never got warm. Apart from that the service was very good

I recently discovered The Jolly Farmer, and I can recommend it as probably the best restaurant in all Middlesex. The service and food were top quality, and the wine choices were excellent, too. I will definitely come back to be able to enjoy the outdoor space, it was too cold last week

Pleasantly surprised. Not just a gastro pub. - a first class restaurant with food to go out of your way for. Highly recommend.

This is a spacious pub with lots of room between tables, and smart, relaxed design and decor. Staff were all professional and attentive without hassling us. Excellent fish dishes: we liked the bass, and the lovely soupy squid with chorizo, peppers, chickpeas. Maybe check the seasoning on that last one - I felt it needed a tad of salt to bring out the flavours. Lovely charred baguette with aioli on the side. Just right. Points awarded for immediate iced water as we sat down, and for the intelligent addition of a 'three chocolate truffles' option on the desserts and hot drinks menu, which is ideal for anyone (including us) not wanting a whole pudding, but not wanting to leave yet!

Such a bunch of great people and amazing food! We had lunch today and Cheryl with the rest of the team took the best care of us! Family of 9 gathered for Sunday lunch . First time we had been here…we were not disappointed-quite the opposite! The place was packed but the waitress was so calm, smiley and attentive! The food was excellent and extremely good value at £24 for two courses...

Food was very imaginative and tasty. Could do with a few more vegan/vegetarian options. Service attitude was poor. They forgot some of our order and then they had put in our reservation for the wrong day and then claimed we didn't have a reservation and...

We had the fish and chips was one off the best I’ve tasted in a pub! Service was good, little forgetful with drinks but very busy and very apologetic so didn’t mind so much! Will definitely be back again for the fish and chips!

Had lunch here on Monday and the place was surprisingly busy but that made for a lovely buzzing atmosphere. The food was delicious, with plenty of choice on either the special lunch menu or the a la carte. I'm vegetarian and had a lovely beetroot and goats cheese starter followed by the really tasty bean cassoulet. The service was friendly and helpful

Had a wonderful dinner here. The staff was really attentive and the food was amazing. The chalk stream trout was lovely and the whipped pistachio dessert with chocolate drizzle was out of this world. I would highly recommend.

Mostly the same wonderful menu items as the Brasserie Blac restaurants, but in a more traditional pub ambiance. Fun atmosphere, and friendly, attentive staff. Great place for a drink, small plates, or a full meal.
