Loved the Salmon and the Pork Belly on the new Friday/Saturday menu tonight. Every bit the plates we loved at evenings in Brazils!

Absolutely fantastic Polish evening Fri 04 Oct 24 I tried as many dishes as I could manage and all the fabulous fusions of tastes. The service as ever was brilliant. Thank you The Tavern for making me welcome.

Waited 10 minutes for our drinks to come my partners drink was spot on and my drink was wrongly made so had to be re done, Food was okay not the Best quality for the price we paid unfortunately Next I think I’ll go McDonalds tbh!

Went this morning after returning from a cruise yesterday (and didn't want to cook). Eggs benedict was perfect. The staff are fabulous. Really is a little gem of a place

Really lovely atmosphere, nice selection of food and drinks! Staff were friendly and approachable! Halloumi wrap was delicious just a shame it came with regular chips instead of sweet potato fries like the menu mentioned (Especially as it was £15)!

I really wanted to like this place! It looks nice inside and out and I was excited to see what it was all about. I was met by 3 young ladies just staring at me when I walked in and I asked did they need to seat me or should I seat myself? One ushered me to a corner where there were no menus and no real instruction if they would come over and take my order or if I should go up to the counter. After waiting 5 mins I got up to go to the counter and one girl said she’d come take my order. I ordered an americano and got charged for a cappuccino either though there’s a price difference on their menu? Wasn’t given a napkin or offered sugar or spoon. The place was DEAD I was their only customer so it’s not like they were run off their feet busy. Instead one of their friends came in and they all stood chatting away. I’ve worked in the service industry at a young age too so I know what it’s like but this was just rubbish.

Never fails to disappoint! Happy and polite staff as you first walk in, attentive throughout. Food always on point and freshly made! A real diamond in the rough and a must visit if you want a decent breakfast/brunch and a place to have a chat with family/friends or if you’re by yourself just somewhere to gather your thoughts over a coffee!

We went here for a spot of lunch after exploring Chesham today,we were passing this and we saw it could do gluten free sandwiches so we definitely thought we should give it a try.The cafe is so lovely it’s a very informal relaxed vibe with some lovely paintings and interesting decor.I love the lights too makes it feel more cozy,homely and inviting.The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and despite it being almost full capacity the service was so quick.I ordered the chicken bacon avocado sandwich without the avocado.The gluten free bread was lovely and soft and you can instantly tell which is the gluten free bread from the gluten containing bread.The chicken was delicious so was the bacon.For desert i ordered the gluten free cheesecake,that was really delicious and a perfect way to round off the meal,certainly impressed the sweet tooth!Toilets were clean too.Also I liked that you could help yourself to as much water as you liked.Would highly recommend this cafe and hope to return in the near future.

My husband and I popped in for a bite to eat and loved everything! Very clean bright and welcoming. Lovely friendly staff and delicious food (& i don’t say that lightly as I’m difficult to please) Used toilets and they were clean welcoming. Others should take notes from this place on how to let’s should be cleaned and presented. Well done to all staff. A very lovely place!

Lovely gem on the Chesham high street. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a great choice of a breakfast menu and a lunch menu. I can highly recommend their smoothies. Dog friendly which is amazing. Indoor and outdoor seating. Not a huge place to eat at , but very popular so I would recommend you reserve a table if you want to visit on a Sunday for brunch. Toilets on site. Cannot fault this special find. Not far from the Chesham metropolitan tube line.

Sat outside and enjoyed watching the world go by as I sipped my coffee. Could have been Italy with a little imagination. Multi bene.

The food is supposed to be trendy but is weird. Burgers: Avocado on it and chicken. Breakfast asparagus on crumpets and worst off all, the hot chocolate is a warm chunk of Christmas Kalender chocolate that one has to turn around to dissolve it in a glass of mostly cream and barely any milk

We visited the tavern for a light brunch and opted for the Gelo’s breakfast. The breakfast was nice, although, they didn’t have any muffins, so we had toast instead, which is fine. The egg white on two of my three eggs were barely cooked, which put me off. The rest of the breakfast was nice, drinks were also nice. Price wise, the menu does seem a little overpriced for what you get. Staff were very polite.

From previous experiences I knew to order my eggs fried, well done (otherwise they tend to arrive barely cooked), but what we didn’t expect was for the eggs in the breakfast burrito to be completely uncooked, translucent and sloppy like liquid (definitely not scrambled eggs as described). When I complained to tell them this, they treated it like a difference of opinion, and the waitress said ‘Okay, that’s fine’ and cleared it away. The point was, in fact, that it wasn’t fine, and that my wife didn’t finish her food and risked being made ill by poor food preparation. We paid our bill (weren’t offered any discount or refund), and then I asked to speak to the manager to explain that we didn’t actually think that this was ok. Initially a junior manager came out and did apologise, and since we had paid, offered us vouchers for a future visit, which we felt was decent customer service. A few minutes passed, during which time she had evidently spoken to the waitress and manager, after which she for some reason rescinded the voucher offer and had been overruled by the blonde senior waitress who we had taken issue with. Ultimately, the local waitressing staff are very nice and helpful, but the foreign management (who also own Brazils I believe) have very poor customer service ideas, and the chefs are substandard. Moreover, the prices there have become outrageous (£13 for a small fry up, £7.99 for a smoothie I think - the menu prices on their FB page are out of date, probably deliberately so). This is not a one off, we have found our last few visit quite fractious and difficult, and as we said upon leaving, this is not the only breakfast place in town, and we will not be coming again. Frankly, the Grocers in Amersham is far better for the money.

Good food. Fresh ingredients. Healthy options. Cooked by a Chef.The Tavern gets busy and is very popular. Breakfast served here and Weekly Specials are shown on the Boards. Dinner Options available after 11-00 o'clock. Closed at 3-00 o'clock.

Great food. Slightly slow and expensive for the area.

Good coffee. Lovely place to sit back and relax for a while. Staff excellent.

I have been going here for years. Used to be amazing. Unfortunately the staff have got worse, struggle to understand English, struggle to take orders and now don’t do takeaway by phone. Lost a regular customer as I will Never return!

The Tavern All Day Breakfast absolutely rocks - without doubt the best breakfast in the local area! 2 slices of smoked bacon, sausage, roasted cherry tomatoes, a lovely field mushroom, cauliflower hash (I will never eat a potato hash brown again!), black pudding (yes, I know - but it is very tasty and is optional), baked beans and toast and eggs of your choice. Nothing beats sitting outside on a warm Sunday morning and having a Tavern breakfast with an oat milk latte or the Super Green healthy smoothie. They do AMAZING lunches too - lots of specials and Magda's burger is to die for - lots of sandwiches and healthy salad options too Give it a go!

Great place, great food, great service and atmosphere. 2022 Always visit when in Chesham. Back again in 2023, still warm and friendly, love their food.

Excellent breakfast and coffee enjoyed sitting outside in glorious spring weather. But then it is always a treat to pop into The Tavern for a light bite. The evening menu is also exceptional. 👌

Lovely staff, nice atmosphere and good food. Prices are also reasonable. They offer gluten free toast but be vigilant as the kitchen sent the wrong toast last time.

Very pleasant morning to sit outside in today's glorious sun, before it got too hot, watching Chesham life wandering past. Coffee arrived quickly and food, Eggs Benedict, shortly after. Nicely presented and tasty. A great way to start my day!

Always great friendly service and good food. If there is a delay on food they will tell you before you are seated. (It does get busy at times).

Went for breakfast and coffee. Both were excellent (which was good considering it is on the pricier side), no complaints there. One star taken off for two service related reasons. First, we arrived a few minutes after the stated opening time and it was still closed. There was a side door open and a staff member inside. I went in and asked if they were open, the female waitress sighed and said "I'll be with you in a moment" over her shoulder. Not friendly. A couple of minutes later she opened the front door. My dad said "hello how are you" in a friendly polite way and she sighed again and said "I could be a lot better". Other staff seemed friendlier. Was my first time there so not great first impressions. I understand people have off days but it wasn't a great start.

Decided to stop in and give it a try. Food was delicious, service was excellent.👌🏾

Food was lovely and reasonably priced. I had a very tasty slice of home made strawberry Victoria sponge - heaven. My husband had the breakfast burrito which he really enjoyed.

The Tavern is great! We went for dinner on Friday and had the delicious Greek platter, we have been regularly for every menu change as it's always good. We even went for breakfast as a birthday treat this morning! Great food, service and atmosphere! Thank you!

Delicious! The food here is consistently excellent. Prices are reasonable for the quality of ingredients and portion sizes; they have an interesting and varied menu. Service is very friendly and efficient. Recommend a visit - can fill up at lunchtime so may be best to book if you don't arrive early.

Ordered a chicken Caesar salad and what I got was a mixed leaf salad with a honey mustard dressing and Caesar dressing no romaine lettuce in site. It was a very nice salad but not what I ordered, also ordered a coke and got given a lukewarm can and a tumbler glass

Love going there for breakfast best poached eggs ever

Visited this lovely cafe which used to be a pub for the first time today. The waitress was delightful and we enjoyed a very nice brunch. The decor is really nice and it has a really nice ambience. Would thoroughly recommend and will certainly visit again.

Went for breakfast on my own then people arrived after me were served first. Doesn't seem to be friendly place for customers as single person.

We ate in the indoor/outdoor space as it was quieter: the blankets were a very welcome addition!

Visited for their Saturday evening Taste of Italy and had a very enjoyable meal.. There were three of us and we had the Board of Italy (consisting of 5 of their tapas like dishes with cheese and cold meats), with two additional dishes. My favourites were the arrancini and buratta, but eveything was tasty and fresh. We had two cannoli and a pistachio cheesecake for dessert. I was surprised that the place wasn't busier. Service was good and friendly. Will go again.

Me and my husband tried to get a table for 4 today and one pushchair and couldn’t believe how rude the lady behind the counter was. The young girl who greeted us at the door was lovely and asked how many of us there was but before we could even answer properly the lady behind the counter rather abruptly said she couldn’t fit us with the pram and told us to shut the door! We could clearly see there was space and we just wanted a bit of lunch but left straight away when we were spoken to like that!

The staff are friendly and wonderful. The food is amazing and there's always something new to try.

Even though the cafe was very busy we managed to get a table for ourselves and grandchildren. This is our favourite cafe in Chesham and the grandchildren love going there. Thank you for the delicious food too. We highly recommend this cafe and we shall be back!

Why go anywhere else? This is the number 1 venue in Chesham. Professional, friendly staff. Delicious varied food & just had the best creamed of vegetable soup, mulled wine & lemon & vanilla cake EVER. Especially the mulled wine.

We have been twice to the tavern and have had an amazing meal both times. The atmosphere is great and the staff are so friendly it makes for a brilliant evening. Give it a try you won't be disappointed

Was absolutely delicious. Staff were attentive enough and friendly. Only have 1 question - do they do free refills for the pots of tea? Or do you have to buy another pot?

It is a nice cozy place. I ordered Gello's breakfast, because it has 3 different types of meat and I like to indulge myself on Sundays. I received 3 different muffins, each topped with an egg. On had the ham, the other the bacon and the other the chorizo. I usually avoid bacon for breakfast when I eat out, because I am no fun of English bacon. I feel it is salty and it has the texture of the bottom of my shoe. Nevertheless this bacon was not tough and had the right taste. The eggs were cooked well too. So am very pleased with my breakfast. My coffee was prepared well too. I finished my breakfast with a fresh piece of chocolate and coconut cake paired with a ball of vanilla ice cream. The combination of coconut and chocolate was just right. The coconut was not the sugary baking mix, but the fruit pieces. I totally recommend to try it.

With the sad departure of Rumbles, friends and I needed a fresh venue in Chesham to meet for a straightforward lunch. Today was my first visit to The Tavern, and it was a very pleasant one. Quick, attentive and friendly service with a good menu, plus daily specials available. I would happily return.

Delicious coffee, milkshakes, and breakfast items... especially the burrito! The cakes looked amazing, but didn't have any room after breakfast to try them. Staff was very friendly and I liked the modern atmosphere and menu. Kids' breakfasts were great and we appreciated that they open at 9 am on Sundays. Highly recommend.

Went for lunch with my mother. I was totally knocked out by my beetroot and dill soup when it arrived. It must have had some sour cream in it too - the depth of flavour was amazing; the taste of Eastern Europe. Seriously a cut above!!

Nice little place in Chesham for either food or a drinks. Offers quick bites for lunch, large breakfast selection and bigger evening meals. Comfortable and well decorated. The only thing is that it can get quite busy and loud... and it will slow down service a bit at peak times. Worth booking if you have a set plan.

Had a lovely all day breakfast here with my friend who had the veggie. Then had cakes afterwards because I'm super greedy. Very yummy. 😄

The food was delicious and the waitress was very friendly. The vegeterian burrito exceeded my expectations. The smoked salmon sandwich looked simple but the fish was very tasty, my daughter loved it. The milkshake wasn't the best we've ever had but it was still alright. Will definitely go back in the future.

Beautiful, welcoming and cosy spot in the centre of Chesham. The food was outstanding, with modern twists on some traditional polish dishes and more - the polish dumplings were a highlight. Also a good selection of vegetarian options. Highly recommended
