Wild Kite Bottleshop and Taproom in Chiltern

I'd found out about this spot driving past and thought hey that looks like a pretty cool place to meet with the lads for a few beers and some food; first time we'd come it was their 5th Anniversary of being open so couldn't get a seat which is fair enough; came in the other day with a few other mates had hot dogs, wings and a few beers and it was about £16 each for wings and a hotdog the taste was amazing but 9 wings dipped in franks hot sauce for £9 is a bit extortionate. The beers on tap were great amazing selection about 10 taps all varied from IPA to Sour and a Lager too, the problem we had was that when we came in we didn't feel welcome at all and when we asked the staff if they're still doing food the lad had a face of constipation as he said 'yeah' and so we sat down ordered our food had a few beers and left. Overall was a nice evening, very nicely decorated and great quality, just the friendliness and prices could use a bit of tweaking as I would come more often if the wings weren't so damn expensive.

Great choices of beers, the gentleman who served us knew his stuff and helped us choose . It is also dog friendly which to us is added bonus . Highly recommended !

Great beer despite the English weather!

Really enjoyed an hour or so at this excellent craft beer bar in Great Missenden. Really helpful owner who talked us through the beers and provided some tasters so we could decide what we wanted. Plenty of room inside to sit and have a chat, plus a few seats outside too. Really lovely vibe about the place with lots of events going on to. A great place to hang out.

Excellent place, about 7 beers on tap, I had Ridgeway from Tring Brewery which was very good.

A good selection of tap beers, tasty small(ish) food (pies, sausage roll, toasties etc), decent background music, not too intrusive. Pavement seating and more outside seats round the back, indoor seating is functional (no comfy sofa) with table seating and sixth-form seats in the window. I'm told that the coffee is great too, so a good place to take your laptop and work on that PowerPoint presentation. A good place to chill after a day's work, or perhaps during.

We stopped in quite by chance. We were driving past and stopped on the spur of the moment. So glad we did. Although we had to wait to be served, the bartender, acknowledged us and said that he would be with us soon, so we were happy to wait. To be honest it was nice to see it busy at 5.20pm on a Sunday afternoon. Anyway, there was a good choice of a variety of beers highlights including an excellent Stout with coffee, cocoa and coconut notes and a lovely sour cherry beer. We were spoilt for choice! Not a large range of spirits but I did spy the complete range of Griffiths Brothers gin, which is a favourite of mine. We nibbled on some olives and decided that we would definitely return to try out the food offering. The range of pie’s sounds like a must try. The visit surpassed our expectations. We normally stop elsewhere for a beer. But after this visit we will definitely drive a little bit further to stop in here whenever we need to escape for a beer. Highly recommended taking a chance and stopping off here. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Lovely place to have a beer or some wine. Really friendly vibe, lovely beers on tap. Would be great to have some interesting beer snacks as well as the pies and crisps they already serve. A great addition to Great Missenden.

Absolutely love this place! Different beers on tap every week, many locally brewed & all delicious. The staff are lovely and very helpful too. You’d think being a place with real ale, it might be a bit pretentious, but it isn’t at all. There’s a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Well worth a visit. I recommend getting a ‘flight’ to try 3 beers at once at 1/3 pint each- you can work your way through the bar more quickly that way!

Friendly staff, always an interesting range of beers and ciders. I like the option of being able to drink a ⅔ pint. Takeaway draft and tinnies is nice too. A wonderful addition to Great Missenden.

Well it is very simple really this is the best drinking pub/ alehouse in great missenden. With 10 taps full of different beers which are changing all the time .. superb customer service and great beer knowledge .. all I can say is hotdogs and beer perfect I am sure that the great staff will enlighten you Happy drinking everyone

Fanatic beer selection, incredible service and welcoming atmosphere. Wild Kite is worth a visit from any neighbouring towns and is a must-visit for anybody wanting to sample local real ales, beers, and the like. Adam and the other team members will talk you through any beers on offer and provide tasters if you are unsure. Good prices and a nice atmosphere seal the deal

Lovely people, great beer. We sat in the new rear patio area with our dog and enjoyed a few beer flights.

Real gem for craft beer lovers, always new and interesting beers on tap and the guys that run it really know their stuff. I tend to pop in and ask to try whatever they have that's new and it's always top, top quality.

We have popped in a few times now and love the relaxed friendly atmosphere. Always a good selection of ales on tap which change regularly. Good selection of wines on offer as well and cans to take away. They have now introduced a selection of hot pies with mash and peas which look lovely and which we intend to try very soon. All in all a cracking local place to pop into.

Always have 2-3 Mad Squirrel beers which are excellent, or a wider range if you feel like exploring. Good assortment of takeaway cans in the fridge too. Nice interior, nice hosts/owners.

We have been here a couple of times. Great beer, great wine. Would recommend the cheese and charcuterie platters. It’s early days, but give this new venture a go. It’s friendly, relaxed atmosphere is a refreshing change from the pubs in Missenden. We will be back soon! Sarah and Sarah
