The Kitchen Larder in Chiltern

Been several times but just had Superb avocado on toast fresh and plentiful best we have had in area, Included Amersham ,Gerrard's and Beaconsfield in last 5 years. Coffee good if a little cooler than should be,- dish excellent though! Service friendly,polite and highly courteous, well done and will return

Rachel and team always go above and beyond in delivering first class produce, hampers, and catering. Recently used the catering service twice for client meetings. Feedback has been faultless and very well received. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Staff are very rude and arrogant.

Very rude staff and rubbish coffee, the coffee was not properly heated. Our family were sitting at the cafe, having paid for and bought coffee. There is no kids menu. Our baby is seriously ill and has not been eating. As he needed to be given his antibiotics we got a hot cookie which had to be purchased from the shop in front and he finally started to eat it. The owner then came up and very rudely said that the baby cant eat that, and when she was told he's not well and needs to eat it so he can have his medicine the owner was like so what and expected us to leave, which we did. Baby had to stop eating and has not eaten again since. I appreciate they may not allow outside food, but they could have been more understanding for a baby or at the least not been so rude about it.

I love stopping in to The Kitchen Larder, in fact it’s become the place I go with my friend for special treat breakfast, coffee is the best in the area. I was looking for someone to do some catering for a family get together and I’m so glad I went to The Kitchen Larder and spoke to Rachel. Every step of the process was so personal, Rachel wanted to understand the needs/favourites of the guests, purpose of gathering etc and gave me some really good ideas on food choices. The process was so quick, a summary /recommendation and quote was sent straight away. Collection was straightforward, all ready on the day really well packaged and displayed, I think everyone from the KL helped at some point they are all so kind, whether getting things from fridge or helping to the car. The food. Oh my goodness the food. It was delicious. We couldn’t wait for our guests and had sneaky snack, absolutely delicious. All the food was absolutely amazing, tasty, fresh, beautifully presented and totally delish. My guests were suitably impressed and couldn’t stop talking about the great spread. Rachel had done special platters for children and our gluten free guest. Just wow. I highly recommend KL for coffee and catering, I’ll certainly be going to Rachel again for my next catering requirements THANK YOU RACHEL AND TEAM!!!!

I booked a take away brunch for 3 people. The service and food was amazing. The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to help you.

We were lucky enough to be gifted afternoon tea for myself, my husband and two children (age 12 and 8). Upon booking, Rachael went through the menu with us and after deciding on the delicious adult selection of sandwiches, she showed us a separate menu just for the children. The choices for the children were just perfect and very child-friendly. Everything on the day was absolutely perfect, down to the little finishing touches on our beautifully decorated table. Both children declared it was the best afternoon tea they’d ever had - beating both The Grove and Fortnum and Masons! They devoured their sandwiches, followed by chocolates brownies, rocky road, mini meringues, marshmallows, fresh fruit and then took their iced ‘horrace’ biscuits home as a treat for later! It was such a joy to experience an afternoon tea that our children enjoyed just as much as we did! Thank you to Rachael and her girls for such an indulgent experience!

If nothing else the excellent staff and service is second to none! An interesting selection of cakes, slices and 'loafs', accompanied by some lovely coffee.

This is one of my favourite spots. I wanted to do a birthday afternoon treat for my boyfriends mum. Rachel and team arranged a beautiful table, with a delicious array of savoury and sweet delights. Everything was beautifully presented and we were given such a warm and inviting welcome. Rachel and her team went out of their way to make it special and it was absolutely perfect! Highly recommend whether it’s for a coffee, lunch, yummy foods and treats or your catering needs. You won’t be disappointed 💖

I am a regular breakfast customer at this lovely deli/cafe. Rachel and her staff are always very friendly and welcoming and I can honestly say they serve the best coffee I’ve ever had, the croissants, butter and jam are so good too.. A huge shout out to Rachel and her team for catering a fabulous night for the Gerrards Cross Tennis Club. Her charcuterie and cheese sharing platters were absolutely stunning - a delicious selection of meats, cheeses, chutnies and accompaniments. Everyone who attended the event raved about the quality - a perfect selection to serve along our wine quiz. I cannot recommend The Kitchen Larder highly enough. Rachel is delightful to work with and was extremely helpful, flexible and professional. We will use them again! Thank you again for helping make our event a huge success.

I had to write a review because after coming away from my experience on Friday I felt overwhelmed by the warmth and love this place filled me with. From the coffee to the cakes to the food, the list is just endless. Every single staff member smiled and greeted me as soon as I entered the building even though all tables were full and they were all so busy, if that’s not great service, what is? They all spoke with such great manner, they are all clearly trained very very well. The food was outstanding. I cannot describe how beautiful the presentation was, it is far nicer than any London cafe I’ve been too! I also noticed from social media that they do catering which looks amazing so will have to definitely contact because I want this ! My recommendation is the Italian toastie. It is divine. The bread is so yummy, and I don’t know what pesto they use but it’s the best I’ve ever had. The coffee too was perfect, I’ve not seen art like around the local area or even bucks so got to say well done to those talented ladies who serviced me. Next time I come in I have to look more closely at the products they stock, defiantly excited to come back! Who knew such a beautiful place could exist?!

Lovely looking cafe from the outside, but strangely patronising owner who clearly thinks she is serving a Michelin star audience rather than the humble general cafe trade and doing us all a favour. An odd experience.

I am a regular visitor to the Kitchen Larder and feel very lucky to have such a wonderful small business in our village. The owner and staff are friendly, knowledgable and clearly take a great deal of pride in what they do. A friend and I visited for tea and pastries this morning - and the almond croissant was amazing. Best I’ve ever tasted! Lunch and brunch always hit the mark too - and I often pop in to buy gifts for friends and family. Thank you Kitchen Larder, keep up the good work!

We are so lucky to have The Kitchen Larder in our neighbourhood! We have ordered numerous hampers for Christmas and other special occasions but a real treat was the Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, which we ordered to have at home. We have done this two years running and Rachel and the team have come up trumps both years. We had a lovely afternoon and everyone commented on how beautiful and tasty everything was! But the most important review was from my 3 year old nephew,  Lucas... who absolutely loved his special kid's tea. It made him feel really special! The little details like the flowers, and handwritten cake menu were also lovely touches. The other thing which we really appreciated was that we order our tea for the day before Mother’s Day and Rachel was able to accommodate our request and that was really appreciated as we had family travelling. And as I mentioned the hampers... we always have an amazing service from Eve who really takes the time to listen to who it is for and always has some wonderful suggestions. An impromptu visit to the area and looking for breakfast so as we were standing outside discussing our options the door opened and we were asked if they could help us which was slightly disconcerting. We had our dog with us and my husband had a look inside at the menu and said that there was a dog inside. When we asked if dogs are allowed we were told definitely no. A woman appeared and said that it was “our” dog and therefore allowed and the bed was raised off the floor attempting to justify the hypocrisy and called me “sweetie “ in a condescending manner (being a lady of a certain age) and language that is outdated and unnecessary. We declined the invitation to sit outside. The general customer service experience (without the opportunity to sample the menu) was unwelcoming and selective in its policy. A good example of “do as I say not do as I do “ .

We’re a frequent visitor of the Kitchen Larder, mainly because Rachel and the team are so welcoming and the food and coffee is so good. I actually asked Rachel if she could make a couple of hampers for my work as gifts for clients. They were so good, I ended up getting four more, all personalised based on my explanation of the people. I would strongly recommend them if you are looking for a gift whether for friends or for work. Thank you!
