Lovely staff. Very friendly young lady behind the bar. We arrived too late for food in the afternoon and our 94 year old step mother said she fancied some chips. Asking at the bar they stated they’d stopped serving but when learning that we had a hungry lady, they provided some fries, skinny and chunky and stated, chef says they were on the house. A lovely touch. We’ll be back. Thank you.

Booked an outside pod as the weather was good. Very nice environment for dinner. Was a Friday evening and pretty busy. Staff were very friendly on arrival. Drinks and food ordered quickly, and everything arrived pretty quickly. We had an issue with my daughter’s order but that was sorted pretty promptly which was good. It’s a real bugbear of mine…. But it did take 5 mins or so to get 2 small bowls of ketchup and mayo. I can’t stand this as we are all just waiting watching our food get cold! Easy fix surely, just put out squeezy bottles on the table? It might look a bit naff but it works. The food was excellent, although the burgers/chips probably could do with a salad on the side for £19. Thank you!

Arrived at The Lion today, not expecting to eat. Enjoyed a lovely meal with two of my clients who also enjoyed their meal. The food was fantastic, and our waiter was on his first shift. The staff were very friendly and polite and couldn't do enough for you. We will definitely be coming back.

Popped into The Lion of Beaconsfield for some after-work drinks and nibbles, and honestly, it was spot on. We grabbed one of the outdoor pods, which was a brilliant touch. Cosy, private, and perfect for catching up with colleagues without too much noise or crowding. It made the whole experience feel a bit special. The atmosphere overall was relaxed but still lively enough to feel like a treat after a long day. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and service was quick even though it was a busy evening. Drinks were well poured and nicely presented, and the food hit the mark, just the right kind of sharers and snacks you'd want with a round or two. Everything came out fresh and nicely plated. Big fan of the vibe, and you can tell they've put thought into creating a welcoming space that suits groups just as well as casual catch-ups. Definitely a go-to spot for future work socials, or even a low-key weekend drink. Would absolutely recommend booking one of the pods if you can. A great little gem near Beaconsfield!

Food very good - fresh, hot and tasty. Deducting one star as 12.5% service charge made first and only appearance on the bill (mentioned neither on paper menu, nor the web one). Hidden pricing practices are dishonest, and it should be the choice of the patron whether they want to add to the final amount paid.

A fantastic evening. We ate outside in one of the cabañas (they have heating). Food brilliant, service excellent. We felt very welcome, comfortable and well fed, even our Doberman was happy! Highly recommend “The Lion Of Beaconsfield” and will definitely return for more!

Visited for Mothers Day. The atmosphere and surroundings were perfect. Loved the flowers and candles. The complimentary little gin bottle on the table was a lovely touch. Had the salmon and roast lamb. Food was delicious. We sat in the garden after which was very relaxing. Will definitely be back.

Don’t often write reviews but feel compelled to write one. We had a Mother’s Day lunch with the family and it was excellent. Firstly the welcome and service was both friendly and professional. As a family we are quite “foodie” and we were not disappointed. Not only were the roast dinners superb but the starter options were incredible . The lamb scotch egg, 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 and the beef croquettes were bangin’. We will be back very soon to experience the evening menu.

Had a lovely meal for Mother’s Day, the food was delicious and our server was attentive. A lovely atmosphere and the whole family enjoyed! The manager Lexie was very hospitable and ensured our time was enjoyable, definetly recommend!

An absolutely wonderful Mother’s Day visiting with the family. Food was incredible. Scotch egg was a highlight. The chefs are very talented. Great team, the young mangeress was so friendly and recommended some really good choices. Have been a few times before but this was a stand out experience for us.

We’re locals, so frequent The Lion and eat there regularly. However, Tuesday was the first Burger Night we’ve been to. Wow! The beef burger was thorougly delicious. Honestly, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Plus £12 for a burger and chips is fantastic value for Beaconsfield. Highly recommend. We’ll be making it a regular Tuesday night visit! 🍔

Not worth a visit. After half hour we were told that the order had not gone through. We were offered some bread, we asked for some with just butter , over 10 minutes later some greasy toast with olive oil was delivered. another 10 minutes went by and I had to ask at the bar where our food was. I explained I was diabetic and needed to eat, were told its on the pass. Another 10 minutes or so goes by before it arrived. At this stage we had to eat what was put in front of us. This was quite frankly awful. The lamb pie was poorly made full of carrot chunks and at times tough meat. The little mash on the plate was dry and tasteless, the vegetables consisted of one tablespoon of wet cabbage. The gravy, thankfully served in a gravy boat was cold and so salty was inedible. When the waitress came to ask us if our meal was OK we just laughed and said no, she was very apologetic. We were asked if we wanted a dessert and we politely declined. I made it clear I wanted some recompense as our experience was awful.. To be fair we didn't have to pay for the meal. It certainly not a place I will visit again.

I cannot rate this pub enough. Had the pleasure of spending the weekend in Beaconsfield, had food & drinks both Saturday & Sunday at this fine establishment, absolutely first class. The staff gave us a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The nicest food I've had in a long time!! I very much look forward to our next visit 🍻

Excellent food!! Great Hospitality!!! Came down to Beaconsfield to visit a couple of old friends. We were fortunate enough to eat twice at this fine establishment. Both meals were outstanding, as well as the warm welcome and attentive service. Highly recommend the Sunday Roast with the extra side dishes of Cauliflower Cheese, Pigs in blankets, and stuffing balls. Thank you to all the staff who made our two visits memorable. We hope to be back soon.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. The staff were really attentive without being over bearing. Food was delicious and overall the experience was brilliant.

Great pub with lovely food and friendly staff

Decided to give the Lion a try for lunch with the family, and very glad we did. Food and service was excellent for all. Can highly recommend the baby back ribs, and the kids meals were also great, and the puddings fantastic (panna cotta, or the hazelnut finger). Definitely one of the better gastropubs in the area, and will certainly be back to try more of the menu.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Lion of Beaconsfield. As soon as we entered, we were warmly greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. We loved the ambience of the restaurant and had a thoroughly enjoyable time from start to finish. We will be back!

Shambolic! The one star is for the two serving staff whose job it was to tell us that the kitchen had run out of desserts and then a few minutes later returning to say we were the last ones that could have dessert!After which, we asked for coffee and were told we couldn’t have it because the only person qualified to make coffee was behind the bar and needed as it was busy. After two pleads, it magically appeared! It was an extremely busy Saturday night - if as a gastro pub you aren’t busy Friday/Saturday then what are you doing open!! One of the group specifically asked for no nuts on her goats cheese salad - you guessed it - it arrived with nuts! Fortunately, it was a preference rather than an allergy!! The bill paid, with service as we felt sorry for the two serving staff, we left vowing not return. They don’t deserve the business.

Update - Sadly food waiting times have remained really bad since the last time we visited and what used to be my favourite chicken schnitzel was very poor quality, with substandard portion and old salad and very overpriced at £18. Also disappointing attitude from a usually very happy manager. Wondering what is happening with owners and staff at what has been a beloved local spot for the last five years. Please give us reasons to come back and recommend again. Last Love love love this local spot just down the road. Home away from home. The food is always fantastic and the hospitality makes it feel home away from home. Could do with more staff as they are often spinning just the family when they are super busy with events, and also the fireplace in the smaller room could do with fixing to increase the ambience, but that would all just be an added spoil. Love this spot. We are so lucky to have such excellence just walking distance away.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for Saturday evening! The evening for my birthday celebration was a great success. Everyone (including me) had a lovely time and your staff did an amazing job! They are all so lovely and super helpful. You made it all so easy for me which is just how I wanted it to be - a relaxed, informal and enjoyable evening of drinks and sharing food. I won’t hesitate to recommend The Lion to others wanting to have events in the future.

This is mine and my partners local now and this is by far the most home felt pub! Amazing food, service and the best Guinness! Lovely in the summer and even more in the winter when the fire is on!

We had our sons 21st here, the team went out of their way to make this the best celebration possible. They made sure the decorating was done tastefully and elegant. The garden flowers were beautiful which added to the decor. Food was fabulous and more than enough for all the guests. I highly recommend have you special celebration here at The Lion of Beaconsfield. Thanks to Lauretha and her team for make this a very memorable occasion.

Really impressed with this place. Having driven past it many times, we finally went for Sunday lunch and were very glad we did! Great roasts (awesome meat), lovely kids food (the chips were a massive hit!) and friendly, efficient service. Tipped it down when we were there, but on a nicer day the beer garden looked really lovely

I held my 25th birthday at The Lion of Beaconsfield and I couldn't be happier with our experience. Lauretha and her team were very organised and accommodating , worked extremely hard and even helped to decorate the terrace before hand, which made the whole night that extra bit special. It is a lovely venue and I highly recommend this pub for any special occasion!

This is definitely a pub to visit. The food was simply delicious. I had the ribs and my friend had the chicken schnitzel, we were both pleased with our choices. The staff were attentive and very customer focused. A must visit. We will certainly be going back

Never in my life have a had an experience like it! Absolutely disgusted… Drop my disabled dad and child at the park for half an hour, so I can go to work and pick them up on the way back through! I go back and they aren’t there… I call my dad he’s in the pub toilet “Q’s had an accident!” I get to the pub to be met with vile verbal abuse from both landlords (male and female) about them using toilet. Obviously it’s gross and my dad’s on his knees cleaning it up! Poor Q is so upset. As is my dad. I was met with comments like… “you should have been with them!” “Teach your child not to **** everywhere!” (It was on the toilet bowl no where else!!! “Why didn’t he tell us he was disabled ?” He can’t speak or communicate clearly after multiple strokes! “How were we supposed to know they are disabled !” Regardless if they are disabled or not kindness and empathy is free and it was no one’s fault!!! I said to her about hidden disabilities, and these things happen and it wasn’t planned, and my disabled dad was doing his best to clear it up…ironically I had been In there with a disabled young man who they were nice too!!! Discrimination at its finest. Not only is my child 5 years old he has SEN needs too !!!! Do not enter with children or disabled people or anyone for that matter, horrible people. The Lion of Beaconsfield 😡

Probably the best Sunday roast we have discovered since Brasserie Blanc in MK over 10 years ago. Always a good start to be greeted upon entering a new establishment, then to be provided with menus promptly and drinks orders taken while we decided what to eat. Food quality was very good, vegetables were served piping hot, not over cooked and the meat was all very tender. Yorkshire puddings crisp & light, roast potatoes crisp on the outside but fluffy inside accompanied by individual small gravy boats Clean plates for both mains and desserts are a good sign of enjoyment . The staff were attentive & friendly without being over fussy even if they did provide us with three different bills at the end of the meal but did get it right. The veg portion was on the small side and would have liked a little more. Dessert choices were limited but rather have less done well than more done poorly. It feels more restaurant than pub as the Timothy Taylors Landlord that I chose did not cling to the sides of the glass as I might expect from a well kept ale, next time will probably chose a red from the interesting wine list to accompany my roast. Already looking forward to a return, so nice to discover new places locally which impress.

I celebrated Mother’s Day and birthdays with my family at this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, ambience, and the service. It was my first visit, but it certainly won’t be my last. The service with a smile truly made our evening very enjoyable.

Went for a meal with my family it was my sisters birthday. We all enjoyed our meals compliments to the chef . The barman very friendly and helpful. We had a table by the fireside which was cosy and can not wait to return . Has a nice beer garden including pods great if there is a shower .

Great pub with amazing outdoor space.

We'd been to the Lion once before and had a decent experience. This time we stopped off on the way to grab a bite, and my wife ordered for me and our toddler. She wasn't hungry so only ordered a drink for herself. The charming lady who took the order proceeded to tell my wife that "you're not allowed to eat any of his food as it's from the kids menu"...😂

We went for a Sunday lunch on a recommendation, I have to add that I never rate Sunday lunches normally. I have to say the recommendation was spot on. A simply fabulous plate of roast beef heaven! Fabulous tender beef accompanied with lovely crispy fluffy roasts and an impressive Yorkshire pudding. The vegetables were fabulous cooked to perfection with a bite and so tasty. We added cauliflower cheese which was lovely and was perfect to share. We followed up with a shared South African Malva pudding. Wow oh wow simply stupendous. All in all a great Sunday treat. All combined with attentive and friendly service. Thank you all

Hate the 12.5% service charge. Which is not mentioned on their website. Had I known in advance I would not have booked.

Hidden gem with great outdoor spaces as well as a lovely bar inside.

Lovely new garden facilities, but... Unfortunately they appear to be totally unaware that there's a worldwide pandemic. No staff wearing any PPE, we saw no sign of track & trace sign-in, and I saw nobody (except myself) wearing a mask when going inside to use the Gents. I can't comment on the Ladies as obviously I didn't go in there! 🤪

Best of everything.. great range of drinks and some v special wines, fabulous food and superbly wonderful staff . Outside space is amazing. Great for locals and visitors of all ages including dogs . Highly recomnended. Come try it out!!!

Met up here with friends, halfway between, and had a fantastic Sunday roast lunch inside. Good food, good atmosphere, good staff. Later saw that they also had heated pod tents outside that would seat 10-12.

EXTORTIONATE prices!! Served a burger that was not what it was advertised on the menu! And was gaslit about how I don't know my vegetarian brands after asking why I had received a completely different burger than what was on the menu😳 (£16 for a non advertised cheap burger with chips), advertised as a moving mountains burger (a replica meat brand) and was served a broccoli and bean burger which doesn't exist by moving mountains which they tried to convince me existed🙃a real shame! (They'll definitely recognise me from my comment lol) tuna was overcooked and gaslit others at the table about what they had ordered for drinks when they brought us the wrong ones!! Really bare vegetarian range too (burger or pesto pasta) very disappointed

I had my 50th party at the Lion of Beaconsfield and I cannot thank the pub and staff enough for their effort, friendliness, professionalism and all-round energy in making it such a memorable day and evening. Lauretta is an outstanding pub manager and she helped plan, prepare and keep the whole place buzzing. Drinks kept flowing and the food, as always, was outstanding. Anyone wishing for a special event, whether it's an exclusive room or the whole pub (all day or evening) should not hesitate making enquiries. It is so refreshing to see a local pub run for locals by locals. Bravo!

Fab Sunday lunch with the family and friends.

I rarely leave reviews but have just come home from The Lion and had to give praise where it is so deservedly due. We've eaten here or popped in for a drink several times and never been disappointed. We always enjoy the ambience, the fire and the warm welcome from Lauretha and the team. Tonight though we were lucky enough to try out the new menu and it was wonderful. Starters of duck bon bons, tempura prawns ans cod cubes were excellent ( especially the light.crisp cod) and the wings were fantastic- the only bit of feedback there would be that of the three sauces accompanying the chicken, we would have liked one that was super spicy. As for the mains,they were delicious. One teen said his burger was the best he had ever had, the other raved about his chicken schnitzel. The absolute standout though was the slow cooked lamb pie which was easily one of the best things my husband and I have eaten in a gastro pub for a long time. Great depth of flavour!! The gravy with it should be bottled. In fact it was so good that I mentioned to Lauretha that it was crying out for some mash to go with it and she very kindly had some made for us even though it wasn't on the menu. That was the cherry on the cake. The lamb pie ( with mash please ) should be a staple on the autumn /winter menu-it was exactly the kind of elevated comfort food we all want at this time of year. Huge compliments to the chef and to all the friendly front of house team. We'll be back soon.

Really enjoyed the Sunday roast. One of the best I ever had. Fresh and juicy, the chicken was cooked more than perfect. There are so many places offering Sunday roast but only few know how to serve a proper one.

Horrendous experience. Booked a table for Sunday roast ti celebrate a birthday. Took ages to be served drinks then were completely ignored for 20 min only to be told afterwards that the kitchen is busy and the food will take 45 min. Really disappointed.

The Sunday lunch was delicious! A group of us went and each had a different roast. We all enjoyed our meals very much. Service was very friendly, just a bit of a wait between starters and main.

Staff was very polite, and the meal was very tasty.

Another attempt to have a quick Saturday night drink at our local at the end of our road. Third time we’ve been told quite rudely we have to leave because a private function booked. We are shareholders/weekly regulars at Beaconsfield bistro so feel we are community spirited but can’t quite work out what the business plan is here,. Would love to support a local pub but so far 4 visits and 3 told we have to leave?

We celebrated my daughters 1st Holy Communion today at the Lion of Beaconsfield as a party of 30. We had a fabulous time, the staff were so attentive, the food was delicious and the kids were well catered for. Such a great way to celebrate with our family and friends on this special day. Definitely recommend as a venue for a celebration!

As always a fabulous friendly welcome from Lauretha, Clinton and team. The menu here has the rare quality of being small enough to guarantee top quality but having so many choices you want to order you are genuinely spoilt for choice. Our food was fantastic. Can highly recommend and we will be back soon!
