Fab local. Owner is a great guy who is super friendly. We popped in for a table of 5 on NYE. It was so busy so worried we wouldn’t get a table. Then the owner squeezed us in as we were only there for an hour. Love this place and the food ALWAYS looks great. Best pub in the area by a long mile.

We've been here many times - friendly, great, proper pub with good thai food that's got some lovely options for kids.

Shhh! This pub might just be the best, local pub in the world, striking the perfect balance between informality and sophistication. The bar staff is incredible—they genuinely go out of their way to get to know you and provide personalised service, often right at your table. The Thai food is delicious and reasonably priced. They have an extensive selection of beers, and the prices are very reasonable. The other patrons are always up for a friendly chat— often in front of an open fire. Thursday's pub quiz sees the place packed out. And to top it all off, they’re incredibly dog-friendly.

The Queens Head is a proper English pub with a twist. As well as all the comforts and bits and pieces you would expect of an older style pub, not least of which is Fullers London Pride !, it also boasts a Thai Restaurant. The food was great hot and spicy and the chicken pad Thai was the best I’ve ever had. Service great and cost very reasonable. We’ll be back very soon.

Good old fashioned pub - friendly service and good beer!

From first contact a few weeks before, through to our celebration meal, the Queen's Head exceeded all expectations and truly delivered on their strap line of "nothing is too much trouble". Though we ourselves no longer live locally we needed to find a venue in the area for a celebration dinner for some 25 family and friends, aged from 6 to 76-ish. From the outset the team, headed by Manuela front of house and Sno in the kitchen, were very responsive and flexible to our need for an exclusive dining area for a complete Saturday evening - unique amongst all the other venues we contacted. Having first enjoyed Thai food here some 35 years ago it was great to return and be able to let all our guests make their own advance choices from the extensive menu. The food was served freshly cooked and exquisitely presented on the plate. All of our guests were very complimentary about the ambiance of the upstairs dining area and the quality and quantity of the food. Thank you QH for a very enjoyable celebration dinner.

A great place in Chesham to rest and enjoy a pint or two after walking the Chess Valley Walk. Great service and good beer. No having eaten there no really able to rate the food, but if it i as good as everything else it would probably be 5 star as well.

Really can’t fault anything about our dinner. We had dim sum and corn cakes to start and noodles for our mains. I couldn’t finish mine, portions weee very good value for money and everything was delicious. The service was great. We’ll be back!

Lived in Chesham over 20 years ago! Impromptu visit for dinner at Queen’s Head ! Grandly looked after by Manuela and Louis Fab food duck curry my favourite! Husband asked for fish dish and Louis advised perfectly! Coffee made by Manuela after machine switched off which I can assure you never happens anywhere in UK!!! Highly recommend this pub which continues to excel in every way! Well done Jan and Baz Reilly

Always love the restaurant here, but recently the price went up and the quality and portion size hasn't really changed. Enough that we'd consider other places for thai food at the moment, we were pretty regular. Recommended the salt and chilli squid, basil and chilli, and panang curry.

To hit the nail on the HEAD, this is the QUEEN-tisensual pub. Went there specifically for the Pride, stayed for the ambience. What a fabulous boozer. 👌

This is by far the best Thai food in the area. Fresh, authentic and tastes incredible. They've never let me down and I always come here for special occassions - the newly refurbished upstairs restaurant is lovely too!

Awful only word i can describe, service was appalling , had to prompt the team for the wine we ordered , starter severed but no plates, starter was severed but mains arrived at same time , Restaurant organisation and management was appalling. , food was like it was from Tesco or Sainsbury chiller counter . Manager did try to put things right and apologised and wine was taken off the bill but unfortunately i think is a lost cause , Will never go back . Such a shame because is a beautiful pub , nice courtyard and nice upstairs space ,

Attentive service and staff were knowledgeable about the beers and the food. Food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. The tempura prawns in the mixed starter were my favourite. You won’t leave hungry as the portion size was more than adequate.

Nice old pub with standard fullers beers on tap, and ok and expensive Thai food.

Called in to visit family, on the way to Heathrow. The pub had a nice warm atmosphere, I went to look in the upstairs restaurant which was fully reserved, and it was very nicely furnished. We ate in the bar, the menu was Thai which surprised me but the food was really yummy.

Lovely staff, excellent Thai food that they pretty much made bespoke. Fave place here and always sich a great atmosphere.

It's a lovely pub... The current management probably don't need to push their staff to expand on our options every time we buy a pint. But a well run cellar in a beautiful building that was more charming under the Brakespears umbrella x

We always enjoy going to the Queenshead. Since the new takeover food has become more expensive and smaller portions.

A shame! A lovely pub with some fantastic food! However severely let down with its prices of drinks… My partner ordered a weak lager-shandy (perhaps quarter of a pint) that turned out to be just as expensive as a full pint, and I had lemonade that was still overpriced but more reasonable. I questioned why they are charging the price of a full pint given the cost of a lemonade and a dribble of Amstel doesn’t match and I was told “that’s just the price”. I do like this pub but have found that recently their service has become abrupt, it has lost its friendly feeling and they are being greedy with the pricing. We ended up going to the George and Dragon and had the same drinks, at a much fairer price.

Oh wow!!! Once again, a very special meal shared with family. The food is outstanding, no matter what you order. They have a special lunch menu, 2 courses £15.00, or a full menu to choose from. The atmosphere is second to none. The staff is exceptional, and nothing is too much trouble. You are made to feel special. A good library of games on hand as well, so you are not rushed at all. Will definitely be back for more...Thank you to all for making our birthdays special...

stopped for weekday lunch. food is Thai and very good. pub is dog friendly with dog treats. has pub car park but only room for about 6 cars. location is out of town centre on the road to great missenden.

This is one of our absolute favourite pubs. A traditional Fullers boozer, with a kitchen serving up delicious Thai food. Its had a bit of a revamp, dont let that put you off, it's still fantastic 😄 We always have the dumplings for our son, their squid, and their Prawn toast - all delicious. Usually, I have a Penang, but went Special fried rice this time, and wasn't disappointed. Hubby always has a red curry with duck, amd sticky rice (proper sticky rice, in a little bamboo pot), and boy almost always has sweet and sour. They are always delicious, and always generous portions. Which you can wash down with a freshly pulled London Pride! Win-win!

Excellent Thai food, great pub atmosphere

There is confusion and unfairness in getting a table for Quiz Night. We are told there is no need to book a table and in fact the website doesn't allow Thursday night bookings. It's a first come, first served basis. However, this is NOT the case. Many tables are reserved. We arrived at 6.30 and sat with our drinks at a 'free' table. A few minutes later a staff member placed a reserved tile on our table, meaning that we had to vacate it by 7.30. We went to other tables only to find these were also reserved. The staff were totally unconcerned that we, regular quizzers were now leaving to go to another pub. The management needs to get it's act together. It's either booking or it's not. After being treated like that we shan't be going back in a hurry.

Hands down the best pub in Chesham. Good crowd and friendly welcome. Now serving Beavertown Neck Oil along with a wide range of well kept cask ales.

Just recently moved to Chartridge What an Absolute gem of a place. Come in this afternoon for a pint of Asali, Jameson and cheese n onion crisps lol. Crispy pints and super friendly and attentive guys

Great pub, very traditional and cozy with nice options such as mulled wine and good ales. A very welcoming spot to enjoy a warm or cold drink after going for a mini loop in the neighbouring fields. Highly recomended.

Visited for lunch with a group of friends from our Tai chi class . Excellent food, service and atmosphere ,the servers did a wonderful job getting our food to us and the meal was superb. Many thanks to all involved at the Queen's.

I know there are cost pressures, but £2.90 for 300ml bottle of water and £3.40 for a cup of tea! - what a rip off.

Really good food. Excellent Thai food with really good service, beer is mostly Fullers brands but they also had the excellent Verdant Light Bulb and Beavertown Neck Oil Plus we bumped into some local celebrities Alex Horne and Tim Key!

We had another fantastic visit to The Queen’s Head. The service was exceptional and the team couldn’t have been more accommodating. The refurbishment looks great and the food delicious! We’ll be back again very soon.

We booked a table in the bar for an early supper, to celebrate a birthday, and had a fabulous meal. The service was quick and efficient, the food delicious and good value for money. The pub was really busy (rugby World Cup final!) but the food came out in very good time and it was all good. We shared a mixed starter, which was yummy and not greasy as they can be sometimes. Our son had the Pad Thai for main, which he loved and wolfed down, and my husband and I shared a duck curry and a special fried rice, both of which we really enjoyed. The pub was lovely and cosy with a great buzzy atmosphere. All very good … we will definitely return!

Booked the upstairs area for 14 people for my 30th birthday after the chess valley walk. Beer was great, Manuel was an excellent host and attended to our dietary requirements with effortless professionalism. The food was outstanding! I had the duck with basil and chilli and loved it Thank you to the Queen's Head team!!!

My friends and I decided to grab some drinks and food at the pub on a Saturday evening as we were in the area. We loved the atmosphere, but even though we ordered all of our food at the same time, all of our dishes arrived separately. In my case, my order arrived 20 mins after everyone elses, and I was served the wrong dish. I had ordered a Thai Red Curry with chicken, but was given a vegetarian dish. The dish itself was delicious, but it doesn't take away from the lack of attention to customer service. I feel bad writing this review as I really like the venue, but won't be dining here again out of choice.

My favourite pub in Chesham. Visited yesterday for the first time since its refurbishment and I’m pleased to say that it’s still the same great pub. Clean, friendly, well kept beer and great food. Looking forward to returning for a sit down meal in the upstairs restaurant area. The new addition of bike racks in the car park are very handy!

Ah, the Queen's Head. Our lovely local that we used to go to most weeks for lunch. Their old Lunch Express (two courses for about £12) was great, with a good selection of mains. Now they've been renovated and under new management, gone is the Lunch Express to be replaced by a 2 (or 3) course limited lunchtime menu. Red, Green and Yellow curries with a choice of chicken, beef or prawn, has now been reduced to yellow chicken, and red beef. There's still a few other favourites, and no doubt the chef is the same. Portions did seem a little smaller for the mains, but the biggest difference is the price; £22 a head! Doubt we'll be going back again for lunch at that price. Staff pleasant and friendly as usual though.

Sundance Multiprocessor Technology Ltd, Waterside, Chesham has used the Queen's Head, since we founded our company in 1989, as our local Canteen for a quick and cost-effective place to lunch with Colleagues, Supplier or Customers It has come under new Management and was still in the process of refurbishment on Thursday 7th September (today) - so slightly noisy, but clean in our area of sittting. I am really not sure what was wrong with the old colours, but a nice smell of paint ;-) However, my issue is that the 2-course lunch menu is £22.00 + No Green Curry with prawns. I opted for a Yellow Curry, but full of cheap potatoes and a bit of chicken. I could have asked for a Prawn version, but that was another £5.00. Sorry… - that is not going to be our Canteen going forward. Shame

I enjoyed the most fabulous Thai meal here. It is definitely to be recommended.

Excellent choice and very good value in a cracking restaurant within a lovely traditional pub. Our waitress ,Lucy, was very good, very knowledgeable and attentive. The hot and spicy sea bass is superb and there's a good selection of beers and wines on offer. Definitely eating here again.

We haven't been here for a long time...can't remember how long....was OK, but the menu has changed not for the best, I didn't get the dish I really liked, because " not on the menu"!! Where at a lot of Thai restaurants, they will accommodate! But ok! Xx😘 C & D

This has been mine and my family's favourite pub for a good few years now and it has never been anything short of excellent. From the attentive and friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you, the decor reminding you of the pub's history and the fantastic Thai cuisine which (in my opinion) cannot be surpassed by any other restaurant. I had the Pad Thai which was cooked to perfection; as someone who doesn't eat most meat I was delighted to see a large variety of vegetarian options available. There is evidently a lot of care put into each individual meal and each of my friends agreed they were perfect regarding both presentation and flavour. The manager took fantastic care of us all and pulled out all the stops to ensure we had a wonderful time; it is evident he is passionate about the place and has a key interest in ensuring the satisfaction of his customers! Overall, if you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere with fantastic food and wonderful staff, I'd highly reccommend this place.
