The Beech House in Chiltern

The Beech House is huge asset to Amersham-on-the-Hill. The friendly and professional staff have established the Beech House a 'go to' for everything from working brunches to family celebrations and late-night cocktails.The menu is of a consistent standard, especially the pizza, which would be well received in any Italian Pizzeria.The room is spacious and has modern air conditioning, which enables even the most Covid concerned to enjoy a night out. The outdoor space has been tastefully covered with an 'event tent' which is illuminated with festival-style lights. Front of house service is warm and efficient. The staff seem engaged with their jobs and encourage their customers to have a good time, even when the social distancing regulations were in place.Areas for improvement would be:-The coffee. Nice espresso machine; shame about the drinks. Sadly, the standard is nowhere near the that of Nero's, for example.The wine list (especially by the glass.) It is limited and many of the wines are pub-standard quality (cheap wine that gives you a headache.) In my opinion, The Beech House could up its game in this area.Well done to all the team. Amersham wouldn't be the same without you!

We visited for dinner the other week and will definitely be returning! The food was amazing & the service, particularly by our server Izzy, was exceptional! Very happy with our visit and can’t wait to return. Thanks Izzy for a fabulous evening.

Went out for food and drinks with some friends and had a great time! Atmosphere was brilliant and service even better. We were looked after by Izzy the whole evening and she was so attentive, whilst being so lovely and chatty the whole time too! 100% recommend and ask for Izzy when you’re there!

Never have I met such a lovely and fun bunch of staff, their interaction and relationship with customers is outstanding, smiles and jokes all around! Brilliant cocktails and amazing food. The perfect evening with friends or a lovely meal with family! Shout out to the lovely izzy and Freya who made our night that little bit more special :)

We visited Beech House as a group of 5 we had a lovely warm welcome with quick service. The food was 10/10 and the staff were so helpful and polite. Couldn’t recommend anymore great for all occasions even offering a bottomless brunch!

Absolutely awful experience, when we arrived we headed to the bar as instructed and the server was so rude to us for asking questions about the drinks. The same server then kept giving us dirty looks from across the room. To top it all off, we ordered a mojito and it did not taste like normal so we kindly sent it back. Instead of sending us a new drink, we waited for 20-minutes while the bar staff ignores us (it wasn’t busy, the bar staff were just chatting us to). As we had another booking to go to, we asked for a refund. This was a humiliating experience as all of the the staff (including the managers) made a scene. Instead of discussing the issue out of sight, they discussed it in front of us while the same girl from the start gave us dirty looks. The woman sorting the issue (guessing management as she was wearing a blazer) did not even come over to acknowledge us. The only helpful person in there was a guy, who we had to approach and he solved the problem. Absolutely disgusted by our time there, we spent approx £150 in there and the staff just ruined the experience.

Well I definitely cannot recommend this place!! The service was terrible, the atmosphere was atrocious! The whole service team are so young in clouding management…I wonder how they manage to even get dressed to get to work let alone manage an establishment and team. All extremely rude and the amount of eye rolls I witnessed sums the attitude of the place. I’d like to say the food made it a worthwhile visit but alas this too was just as bad.If you want an enjoyable, relaxed evening with friendly and empathic customer service this is NOT the place

Had Pollo Picante which can only be described as charcoaled, with an attempt to hide it by placing the chicken on the plate charcoal-side down. We complained. We then had to complain again do ask what the outcome was, to be told that they were sorry it had been cooked by someone new in the kitchen who had now been chastised! It beggars belief that this somehow excused the terrible cooking, and that it should be at our expense, quite literally, as no recompense was offered, even after the admission it was their fault!Businesses offering service like this don't deserve to survive. Avoid, and find somewhere better that deserves your custom.

You will enjoy a great welcome and service and the food is very well prepared and served. It’s not the cheapest in town, but quality comes at a price. Enjoyed my meal here.

I asked for some adaptions to be made on my food due to my gluten allergy. He stared at me and said we can’t do that when the menu said we could. Both of us felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave.

We had a superb meal last night, waited on by Freya, for my birthday. We pre-ordered our food to ensure we could have exactly what we wanted off the menu as Friday nights are busy. We also asked for a quieter table to suit an autistic family member and were seated in the private dining room, so do ask if you have any special requirements. The food was really tasty and we had a lovely time. Thank You!

I've eaten here a few times, twice for brunch once for dinner. The staff are friendly and there is a reasonable vegetarian selection including a delicious avocado hash. However the service can be a little slow and not all information provided to help decision making - we only found out there were no pizzas that day when half my table were about to order them.

Pretty average poached eggs on muffins which should be really easy to cook, otherwise the place could do with a good going over with a hoover.

A friend and I visited this place frequently pre-covid, so had good expectations on return. Disappointed to find out that the prices seemed to have gone up, but I guess this is because of covid. We had a main, and one beer each but shared a questionable dessert - Chocolate Budino, accompanied by cookies that were far too crunchy and the Ganache itself was smothered in a sickly amount of raspberry. This left an unpleasant taste in the mouth, as did the £50 bill to end our evening. (would've been happy with £40, the pints were £6!!) It was also bright and sunny outside not that you could catch any heat as the entire outside seating was covered. Doesn't help that the building is on the wrong side of the high street to catch the late afternoon/evening sun, but this was our mistake.To finish on a high both our burgers were worth the £15 price tag, I recommend the Chicken Milanese - delish.

Living in Amersham, I often frequent the Beech House. I'm always very impressed by the friendly and efficient service - particularly when I visit in the mornings for a coffee. Well done, George and Phil!

The Beech house Amersham is an amazing atmosphere full off outstanding staff. Quick service, friendly and attentive employees who serve you with a smile and genuine conversation. I would highly recommend visiting with friends and family for a unique experience and amazing food.

We came here yesterday because it’s child and dog friendly, they also had a really good choice of vegan meals as well as vegan wine. The young waiter and waitress who served us were lovely but after ordering our food we sat there for about an hour and our four year old was getting bored. We asked another woman (possibly Management?) if our food would be long and she said she would find out but she didn’t come back and then sat talking to what looked like her family. We didn’t feel like we were important at all. I asked the young waiter who was lovely and apologetic and he said he would check. Our food arrived soon after that and to be fair it was really nice. We asked for the bill and again had to wait so we then went to the bar and asked again. They brought the bill and we waited to pay but by now we really needed to leave so we went to the bar to pay. At this point the management lady told us to put masks on, which is a fair point but given that this was the only time she’d spoken to us in the hours that we were there it came across as a bit abrupt. A real shame as the food was nice and we’re always looking for somewhere dog friendly. They didn’t even seem that busy.

Unfortunately I can’t leave a review about the food as we didn’t get as far as anyone taking an actual order. Arrived just before 11am and it wasn’t overly busy with plenty of staff about. Directed to a table and then Sat for 30mins with no drinks then a young lad came over with cutlery and I informed him no one had come with over to take our order and he scuttled off... after waiting a further 10mins we left.... and we won’t be returning.

A mediocre experience. Hopefully a one off today as usually have had good food and similar or indeed really great service. Whilst reasonably busy, which accounts for some of our experience it was still not as it should have been. Initial drink orders took a little long but ok, took a longtime to take the food order and asked for steak, was then told sold out, should have been told this when given the menus and not ideal at 2pm on a Sunday. Starters arrived eventually and were good, especially the soft boiled egg in sausage meat. Daughters bruschetta also good. Mains mixed, but took way to long to arrive , burger over cooked and daughters pizza came with rocket despite asking for it not too. Wife and daughters pasta were both fine. Manager came over with the mains, no apology for length of time it had taken. When I explained I was unhappy with length of time, he told me he’d seen I was unhappy, but he thought wait was reasonable due to how busy they were. He said we’d only waited 30 minutes since starter plates had been collected, he failed to notice the empty plates had been there for circa 15 minutes already. More insightful I asked why he hadn’t come over if he’d seen us unhappy and also why we hadn’t be able to order more drinks. He gave what felt like a very begrudging apology, he clearly still felt I was wrong. I thought I was the customer but it certainly didn’t feel like this. Asked for the bill, we had to ask twice and this took circa 20 minutes to arrive. We spent just under 2.5 hours here, a poor experience, it took too long, mixed food, too long to pay and poor/lack of engagement from the management team when I did complain. I appreciate places can be busy and that sometimes things go wrong. My youngest daughter loves this place usually and we would want to go back but struggling to do that with the lack of engagement. I’ve only ever posted positive reviews on trip advisor and this is first and hopefully the last negative review I choose to leave. Disappointed and not the lunchtime experience we had wanted.

We went for a family celebration. Table at 2015 on a Saturday. Starter arrived at 2130. Mains still hadn’t arrived by 2215. My halloumi was inedible by then and frankly we were all past it. Manager did agree to waive our bill but by then the damage was done...everyone grumpy and fed up so the celebration fell flat on its face. Won’t be going back.

Nice food, reasonably priced, friendly staff, nice outdoor space. Would recommend. Great veggie options! 😀

Food was very good but disappointing to see the restaurant allow so many people indoors that were so obviously not in the same household. No questions were asked from what we saw and minimum food ordered but lots of alcohol. No wonder we are going into Tier 3. I won’t be going back there

Before the last lockdown, six of us went to the Beech House for drinks. It felt almost like a normal night out, in spite of the masks and plastic shield between our table and the next one.First thing to note - this restaurant felt VERY Covid secure - the staff have done an excellent job in making it a safe place to spend an evening.Second, the drinks aren't the cheapest but the range is enormous, with something for everyone. I had a mocktail - can't remember the name - and a couple of glasses of white wine. We used the app to order drinks, although I believe that is currently suspended to help with meeting Tier 2 restrictions. Phil did a very good job of processing our drinks quickly and efficiently - thank you!I can't wait until we can go out again for a similar evening - this felt almost normal, in spite of all the current restrictions.Thank you Beech House!

Something went badly wrong in the kitchen at lunchtime on 26 10 20. To wait for 45 minutes at lunchtime for food to be served is unacceptable. When it arrived it was cold. A very long time since I’ve seen such poor service.

Up until this Sunday The Beech House has never failed to produce an excellent Sunday roast with good quality meat, delicious gravy, crispy roast potatoes and vegetables never over-cooked. This Sunday the food was good, but our plates were swimming in gravy - my French beans were literally floating on the plate and the mashed potato was one big soggy mush. Shame ... please chefs be less generous with the gravy or, even better, provide a separate jug on the side.Thank you.

Just had Sunday lunch at the Beech House with my kids (daddy and 4 and 2 year old boys) and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect meal out. We were given a huge booth table right at the back, and service was spot on from our brilliant server Matthew. Kids cutlery was produced as requested in advance, with the boys even getting to choose their favourite colour! Kids menus and crayons arrived quickly and nothing was too much trouble. The boys loved their fish goujons and chips and my gnocchi calabrese off the day’s specials menu was superb. The kids devoured this strawberry ice creams and I very much enjoyed my chocolate brownie. Service was superb throughout. It’s a difficult time for the hospitality industry but we are very lucky to have such a great family friendly venue in Amersham, and they deserve our custom with service and food like we experienced today. Only slight downside was that on shifting the table to retrieve a crayon, various other old crayons, cobwebs and dirt were revealed - it obviously hadn’t been cleaned there in a while. I’m sure efforts will be redoubled in that department though and I won’t hesitate to visit again soon.

Waitress was welcoming. However, table was grimie and sticky on arrival. We ordered the drinks, starters and mains. The starters arrived first followed by the drinks as they were still waiting on the bar. Food was cold. I ordered the vegetable fritti starter and wasn’t at all appetising. Appeared to be heated up but still only slightly warm. Mains were the same. Waitresses were taking table orders but didn’t bring the food and drink to the tables. This was done by one man (could be the manager) but may explain why the food was cold - very odd. Waitresses would then clear the tables and sort the bill. First time visit at Amersham. Have been to Beaconsfield and so much better.

5 of us visited on Monday 7/9/2020 for my sons 18th birthday. The staff made home feel so special, the service was amazing and the food was super tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to the staff who made our evening! 👏🏻

Lovely meal, enough covid restrictions to feel safe but not to spoil ambience. Rose, the waitress makes you feel special.

We had the best lunch experience at the beech house! The food was amazing quality (highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding), great value for money and all the staff were very friendly and attentive. Our waitress Emma was so lovely and made us feel so welcome. Will definitely be returning!

My wife ordered a mushroom pizza which was fine but she was disappointed that such a well known establishment uses tinned mushrooms. Perhaps they have an explanation for this to give them the benefit of the doubt

Thought we would venture out and take advantage of the eat out to help out. Given the current guidance, we felt The Beech House fell short. No PPE by any staff. Staff need further training on how to handle glasses and food dishes to avoid hand contact and potential contamination. Whilst the food was delicious we witnessed severe lack of sanitising of condiments and cleaning of tables. We finished our meal and left. We have a booking for next week but we will cancel as not sure we are happy to expose ourselves to this experience again when other establishments in Amersham follow the guidelines completely.

Welcome atmosphere wide menu for all needs. Food was good I had the beetroot falafel excellent taste combination. Enjoyable evening.

Decided to get burgers and fries for takeaway as a little Saturday treat. Warmly welcomed to the restaurant by Freya - definition of service with a smile! She made it so easy to order whatever we wanted, and also made us feel welcome in the restaurant. Our first burgers in six months were delicious and the fries cooked well too. Harissa mayo was a great little spicy touch, and the chipolata sausages were nice and succulent. Would definitely come back again - thank you Beech House, and thanks Freya!

Service was reasonable and social distancing observed. The food was dire though. Salmon and a burger literally burnt to cinder!!

I was shocked that no 'real' covid protection was in place. All sanitiser stations empty at the beginning and end of visit. Staff not wearing any form of PPE including the kitchen staff. The Meal was bland with no seasoning and missing half the ingredients such as the virgin olive oil, Chilli flakes which the menu had stated. The management are quite clearly clueless of what is happening and staff alike. When our food finally came, no social distancing was practised and we had two staff members at the same time crowded around a very small table. This is 100% not a covid safe area and im sure this would be temporarily closed down if the authorities were told. Other bars, pubs and restaurants within Amersham do compulsory temp check and offer track and trace. The APP is a JOKE and doesn't work. LOTS of stuff that needs to be fixed by an experienced management team.

I had a meal with friends at the Beech House yesterday evening. The food was delicious and our serving staff Poppy and Lilly were very attentive, making the evening very pleasant. The manager Chris was very professional and friendly, and social distancing measures were excellent.A great place for an evening out with friends.

No social distancing, no PPE, app not working and limited when it does. Could be so much better but Oakman Inns need to invest in Training and Development. Ordered a Caesar Salad and the chicken had been leftover as it was cold, hard and chewy. No Caesar dressing and given lemon mayo instead. The croutons were stale. The only thing that was edible was the lettuce. Stick to burgers and pizzas as they are the the fastest turnover foods. Very slow service wrong food brought and the bill was wrong.

We had lovely fresh coffees where oat milk was available. We then had avocado toast which was packed with flavour and fresh chilli for heat. There was dividers up to ensure all guests felt comfortable due to current Covid measures. A must visit spot!

Young waitress stopped us ordering from the lunch menu at the same time as another family WERE given the lunch menu. No highchair offered for our baby to eat from.Food very well presented, lovely and fresh. Poor manners of waitress who urged my husband to tip! Laughable.

Came in last night having booked previously to find a 15min wait until we even got offered a table. I could see some of the staff were busy so it was understandable. After being seated outside we realised the app was so limited we came inside again and asked for another table.The manager kindly placed us inside and said he'd send someone over, after sitting for maybe 15-20mins we beckoned someone over and ordered drinks + food.The food came after a delay.We then enquired about drinks which hadn't arrived.We sat for another 10mins, the manager came over asking how the food was, again we explained about the lack of drinks. Eventually they came after we'd nearly finished the food.We then had to grab the attention a long time after to order desert.After these came, we grabbed the attention to get the bill.After the bill came we had to grab the attention of the barman to pay the bill!!All in all the food was lovely, drinks were nice but we felt like we were ignored for the WHOLE evening, the service was really disappointing !!! ):

Hoped that because they’re a chain they’d know what they were doing when they reopened but frankly they don’t, staff are running around pointlessly as usual and you aren’t made to feel at all welcome. Food and drinks alright but service slow and underwhelming. No atmosphere at all.

I would definitely recommend going to The Beech House if you want to treat yourself or as a special occasion to meet up with friends and family. The prices are a bit much as it has standard food and drinks but you can definitely go here for a treat!

First time here and seems nicer and cleaner than Beaconsfield bar ! The only gripe was the half chicken was quite small. The burger was good.

Amazing start to finish! the waiter was fantastic throughout, the food was delicious! Calzone's, pasta and the burgers all delicious and service was brilliant, very attentive! Nothing was too much trouble.

I’ve been to the Beech House a few times. It’s a nice place to meet friends for drinks, especially during the summer, when the doors are open. The decor is great. It’s a good venue all round.I haven’t eaten there for a while and was pleasantly surprised when I did so recently. The food was nice. We both enjoyed it. I had the veg burger and my friend had the pork belly. I would say that it’s definitely improved since I last ate there.The service was brilliant. Really friendly and attentive.

We held my husbands 60th Birthday Celebrations here , we organised to have The Glass room on the mezzanine floor at the back . The venue was perfect ,the food was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive! Big shout out to Nick ( our barman ) who was brilliant ! All our guests were very impressed with our choice of venue and I am sure a few will rebook it ! Once again thank you , regards Tracey Lewis

Great place, can’t believe I e not found it before! I had a burger and the patty tasted fabulous one of the most tasty burgers I’ve had! Lost one star as service could have been quicker, or drinks took almost 20mins to arrive!

Celebrating our sons birthday today and decided to start our day with a Brunch. The Beech House gave us a friendly, welcome, finding us a table even though we had not booked. Freya, our waitress could not be more attentive. We have several dietary requirements such as a Coeliac, tomato allergy, diary intolerance and most of us being vegetarian aswell. The amount of options available was very impressive. We were spoilt for choice which as you can believe is difficult to find in many food establishments. Freya made my daughter very so comfortable about being a coeliac and ensured she was aware that her food was gluten free on serving her food and it also had a flag stated it was gluten free. All our meals were to a high standard. Thank you so much for a great start to our day. Will highly recommend to friends and family locally.

Very friendly greeting and that good customer service continued. Extensive menu backed by an excellent bar makes this a great option for 'new' Amersham. Food was tasty and a very decent portion size.

We live locally and have been to the Beech House Amersham quite a few times. The ambience is lovely and the staff are attentive and friendly. There is one person in particular, Freya, who always comes round to ask if everything is okay and how we are doing. There is a good selection of alcoholic drinks and we love the lightly battered prawns. The burgers are fab too and so is the Napoli Forte pizza. The relaxed atmosphere is also a draw for us.

Lovely place with beautiful Christmas decor Great service and nothing too much trouble. A great variety of food and we loved the copper beer tanks idea

We were staying in Amersham visiting family over the Christmas holidays and ate at the Beach House three time’s. Breakfast lunch and dinner. All three meals were great. Service was quick and friendly. Good quality food. Prices were very reasonable. We will definitely return when we come for our next visit.

A little expensive but a great place to meet for drinks and their open quite late, we must try the food.

Been here a couple of times, definitely better since its refurb/move around. Xmas meal portions very good.

We found ourselves in Amersham, and hungry. So we dropped in to the Beech House for lunch, where we had a superb 4 Seasons pizza, and a very nice Greek salad. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and the service remarkably quick. Quite a find! We shall return.

I visited last night with a group of friends from work and we had the private room upstairs. The place was bustling and lively, but the background music was exactly where it should be - in the background. Food was excellent from a varied menu, service was quick and efficient, yet very friendly staff. Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be going back. Highly recommended.

I would like to say I had a wonderful night there with my friends food was amazing cooked very well and would like to mention about one of the staff member Andrei thank you very much for given excellent service to my friends and myself we were are very pleased and happy having never been to this establishment before you made us feel very welcome very polite friendly and professional I would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting on lives in the area to visit my friends and myself will definitely be coming back again. thank you very much

We had to ask them to clean the table. They bring your food then bring your cutlery 2 minutes later..why? Although the menu said chips for some reason the kiddies meal arrived with no chips, when I asked they said they would bring them straightway.. no chips arrived. They never offered us sauces or even salt and pepper. They never checked if our meal was okay.. poor service and expensive food. £17 for a roast dinner.. as I wrote food was just okay.

I had a great time at the beech house and was served my a great barman called Andrei!, he couldn’t of been a better host. Looking forward to my next visit.

I love it here! The food is great and they have a great choice of my favourite draught beers. Special mention to Andrei and Octavian, who are always friendly behind the bar.

We live locally and have been seeing this place for a while thinking about going. The moment finally came today where my wife and I thought we would go for a late brunch.

We dined with our two young children and the grandparents early evening on a Saturday. By the time we left, the restaurant was buzzing. It’s a lovely building with a great atmosphere. The food was delicious - yes it’s quite pricey but good quality so worth it in our opinion. The kids menu is £9 for 3 courses plus a drink and the children got crayons to colour the reverse of the kids menu. Our son has a number of food allergies and the restaurant take these very seriously consulting their iPad and the chefs for the allergen ingredients and making recommendations. Despite allergies being so prevalent now there are still so many restaurants that play lip service to them but The Beech House were excellent. We have to comment on how friendly and efficient the staff were - they made the dining experience excellent and we will certainly return.

We booked the private room of The Beech House for a big family celebration and could not have had a better evening. The room is amazing (there were 14 of us although it could accomodate a few more), it is glass walled so you don't feel cut off from the restaurants atmosphere. There is also plenty of room so you are not confined to the table. The service we received throughout the evening was second to none, I had place set the table and we liked the fact that the waiters took the time out to use our names. I was able to go in early and decorate the room with balloons & flowers. We also used their projector for a personal video which was brilliant. We pre ordered the food which made the whole eveing hassle free. Can't wait for the next family occassion! Many thanks to Jamie & the Beech House staff, a great evening had by all.

The Beech house is a modern good looking restaurant - There are some really nice touches, it has a stylish industrial feel, the floor is huge but the tables are cleverly placed so that you are not inundated with noise from your neighbours - The waitress was so keen to get started she tried to collect drink orders when only 2 of us had arrived, having said this she served us well along with other staff who were upbeat and happy to help without being intrusive. So far so good, also it was nice to see Tring beer on the bar and the house red we ordered was surprisingly able with an element of complexity you rarely find in a glass of house. Now the food, it was apparent from one look at the menu this was not cheapest place in town, the steaks coming in at an eye watering £23.5 - I had the Pollo Picante, basically two pieces of fried chicken, a few strands of rocket and a chopped up salad tomato, very disappointing, could they not have added some tomato relish at the very least, not a £16 dish in my book - I checked with my fellow diners and got largely positive comments about the food, i tried a little of the swordfish which was nicely cooked and seasoned - However The Beech house needs to decide whether it is aiming for a food experience on par with Browns (which is similarly priced) or Weatherspoons (considerably cheaper) On the evidence of this visit the food is much closer to the latter than the former - Make no mistake The Beech house is a nice place to be but if they are serious about food they need to up their game, in terms of nosh there are many places offering a lot more for less.

Came here for a catch up over some dinner with a friend. We had calamari for £7.50 and it was awful! The quality was awful and when we complained we weren’t even offered a refund.

Had dinner with two couples at this still relatively new venue in Amersham. Good venue with a nice vibe and decor. A quite youthful crowd - particularly as the evening went on and the music went up. Bar area was busy and lively whilst the main restaurant was also quite full and relaxed. Extensive menu of fairly typical mid range food - salads, burgers, pasta - all prepared well and hearty portions. Desserts a little too standard and less inspired. Wine list was good with a fair selection at reasonable price points. Service is still a little slapdash - and not always getting it right - but very friendly and mistakes quickly rectified - and much better than when it first opened.

Some of the most delicious fresh flavours I've tasted. The brushetta was amazing and the pasta dish, not a usual choice, was a complete delight.

A family get together for a drink turned into a meal and this place were very helpful to accommodate us at short notice. We all enjoyed our meals, I had one of the specials and it was a great meal. Overall we had a wonderful meal here.

I was recommended here. We did try it. We have been to others in the same group with the same menu but much better cooked. Waiting staff were not overly helpful.

A less mobile friend and myself walked in for dinner service this week, September, and a lovely waitress (Freya) went out of her way to assist us. She found us a table where we could sit side by side and had easy access for my friend. She read out the menu (the lighting made it hard to read the menu as it was in red and yellow) and when I gave her my allergies she checked the ingredients and came back with some options.

Well..came here for a lunch with a friend. Decor was and is very good as is the service but the downside is the food.

This is not the cheapest place for lunch but the food is superb. We had a great 3 course meal off the main menu and the staff were happy to sub vanilla ice cream onto my dessert in place of the black treacle ice cream it was supposed to come with.

This is a big restaurant, don't let that put you off, the space is open and it has an especially relaxed feel to it. The table and chairs aren't crammed in. They have managed somehow to get the acoustics right, the sound of other dinners noise doesn't resonate or bounce off the walls around the space. This can be a problem in many eating places as they can be exceptionally noisy and it's hard to hear what friends are saying on your table. The Beach House has it just right. Food is very good, very good service. Have visited this a number of times. It's well worth traveling to The Beach House even if your based further afield from Amersham

We paid the Beechhouse in Amersham a visit on a spontaneous decision and we were not disappointed. The Restaurant was quite busy and they still managed to accommodate us and service was great too. We felt looked after even though our waitress was clearly rushed off of her feet with many more tables. The food was amazing one of the best burgers i have had in a very long time. Everyone was happy and smiley. Great place to eat!

Had a really nice time - thought food was well priced and super tasty. Server was Freya who was just wonderful - really helpful and chatty. Made our evening super relaxed. Will be returning.

We live in Amersham but had visited The Beech House only once before. I won a three course meal there in a raffle (a first!). We enjoyed the meal in June 2019. We ordered cocktails. I went for something with strawberry. Unfortunately the glass toppled from our server's tray and spilt on Mr M's coat. It was messy! The server and manager dealt with this accidental situation brilliantly. They cleaned Mr M up and offered to pay for his dry cleaning. We organised that a few days later. The bill was reimbursed in cash with no fuss on request. This was an excellent way to make us feel warm about the restaurant after the accident.

really wanted to like the Beech House as local and somewhere like this needed however...........went as a family for late lunch on Father's Day. Once seated service very poor, waited....and waited.........wasnt that busy and on two occasions a member of staff went by, could see us looking for attention and carried on walking. Everytime we wanted something service was inattentive and slow. Disappointing as the waitress who did serve us was lovely. Food nice but not great, calamari starter small. Had halloumi burrger and 3 roasts. Burger ok, for £16 - £17 a roast expect better, chicken pork and beef all had same gravy, unusual? Never mind paying top dollar if feel worth it but would say just ok / nice but overpriced which is a shame as in no rush to go back and would have been if better experience or better value.

Family meal on a Saturday evening was very enjoyable. Good food, good service. Some interesting choices. Between us we enjoyed starters, mains and desert. All happy !!

There was no maître d' to welcome us or explain the seating zones; we chose to sit at the front of the restaurant where it was light and bright. Having sat there for 20 minutes with no-one approaching us we finally went to the bar and was told the front tables were bar service not waiter service.

We had dinner and drinks last night 8/6, great service, lovely food ! we had from the specials menu, lovely!! I had the chicken, it was delicious, the dressing on my salad was lovely! our service was really good ! we had drinks in the bar, again good service, great lively atmosphere, will definitely recommend !!

Fantastic food, really good service. One of the best roasts in Amersham. Will definitely be returning.

This restaurant was a winner for me on several points: - Tasty food - Great service - Vegan options - Delicious cocktails (must try the Passiontini!) For a good night out with family or friends, I highly recommend The Beech House.

Came here for the 1st time and had a family breakfast. The place is very modern and massive inside, really impressive. Service was good but breakfast was unbelievable, the best I’ve ever had. Every part cooked to perfection. Will definitely be making this a regular thing now.

This was the perfect place for me to kill half an hour and enjoy a decent coffee after getting the train to Amersham.

Very disappointing experience, for two grandparents, and two teenage grandchildren.

Went to restaurant to basically buy an upset stomach, the double up chicken burger has left my bum on fire and creating smells that I didn’t even know a human body could make. Vile.

First time at the Beech house this evening, and the food was pretty disappointing, too oily and a burger that was cold which we sent back, kids menu burger was inedible and the service from our main waitress is best described as surly, all the other staff were friendly enough, but at the prices being charged the quality of food was not what I would have expected.

Really friendly staff is a feature here and thank you to Emily for first class service. Good menu options and that includes the kids menu and Gluten free. Decent portions and tasty food along with an excellent drinks menu.

We ordered food and one meal was completely wrong and another was a dangerously under cooked chicken. The pork belly i had was completely drowned in sauce and in all honesty will not be going back.

First time of visiting and a couple of drinks turned into staying a few hours and dinner. We had starters and steaks for main and the food was great, very filling and tasty, I had a coffee and one of us had a brownie for pud and we all felt full and satisfied. Great place, good service and we will be back

My family & I came here for my birthday. We were seated immediately and had our drink order taken straight away. So many food choices on the menu we asked for longer to make our choice. The staff were helpful and answered all of our questions. We’ve been before so know that the main meals are huge portions so we didn’t have starters. Highly recommend the fish & chips. Having said that all of the food is so good. Enough room for desert and I have to say the lemon posset is the best thing you will ever have apart from the brandy snaps that come with it. All of this washed down by the cocktails that are sublime. The atmosphere is lively but not noisy. Highly recommend this place.

We were greeted with smiles, the staff cared about us, especially Beth and Arantxa, and the service was exquisite. It was exactly what all the hype was about. Great beer with characterful flavours. Cherished every bite of the cheesecake. Everything was even better than maple syrup.
