Nice decor. Booked a table for 8 and needed to order in advance. Food was nice. Staff were friendly and no real problems. It did feel a little disorganised when we visited, but that didn't effect us at all.

Its not going to be a good one !!! Food was great……but, if the management are going to employ kids to serve make sure they are not having a party behind the bar at my expense ! Great food delivered to table, and to wait some 10 mins for side plates / cutlery, - food was getting seriously cold. Nice place and atmosphere but not for us, beware, (I hate leaving a poor review but if im paying and the service is crap, thats my prerogative), nuff said !!!

Just popped in for a drink while waiting for daughter to finish class. Toilets clean. Service good.

Really disappointed. Lounge eggs were solid, whole mushrooms just dumped on the plate. And a game of hunt the spinach! Muffin not toasted and next to no sauce. Full English, hard egg dumped on under-toasted bread. Beans dried up and overcooked, freezing cold tomato, bacon hours old and dried up.

lovely staff at the establishment, brought out great food that was reasonably priced and delicious, staff were very polite especially when dealing with a pair of particularly rude customers who were very verbally abusive and difficult, would highly recommend

Today I went to have lunch with a colleague and the first impression was the flies and the filth of the place. After ordering our food and drinks a glass of coke arrived with some crusts (dirty) we asked for another and they brought it 15 minutes later. The food arrived 40 minutes later and on top of that the food was cold. Lastly the staff didn't even bring us the cutlery. Today was a bad experience. There were 3 waitresses there and I don't know how many in the kitchen but the restaurant was almost empty with 3 tables and it just happened that they didn't want to work.

The egg on toast was So NICE. I loved it. Atmosphere was a bit odd but good. Not that busy. There should be MORE vegetarian kids options on the menu. But it was great.

Went for a lunch meet with friends and ended up staying chatting and relaxing for almost five hours. Nice ambiance and good is outstanding.

I enjoyed something I had never eaten before - Pitta bread covered with feta cheese, beetroot, tomato and rocket. I requested no pomegranate seeds that were included. It was delicious and there were no pomegranate seeds. I also had a small glass of prosecco and for dessert a honeycomb milk shake. It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal in a pleasant environment. I will return!

Place was relatively quiet, and in my opinion when staff, kitchen and otherwise are in the main seating area not doing jobs it can sometimes be uncomfortable/unprofessional. Food was good, but ran out of rolls so had in sandwich. Forgot to add bacon so brought on separate plate. Not the cheapest so would expect better. Food was, however, really tasty and drinks were also mixed fresh.

we bring the kids here for dinner everytime we're in Amersham - the food is great, portions spot on for kids (and adults), and the atmosphere is wonderful. It's just a fun place to be - AND, last time we were there our two-year-old took a fancy to a cuddly dinosaur that was on the kids' bench (with toys, games, colouring in etc.), and wouldn't let it go. so the staff let us keep it. it was so lovely x

I enjoyed a.lovely lunch here with my daughter. They had a separate allergens menu for me as I am a Coeliac. The gluten free selection was fairly extensive. They do charge a bit more for gluten free but I guess this is understandable as some.items cost more. The food was of good standard and well.presented. The staff seemed friendly.and fairly knowledgeable. They have a book swap.library if.you fancy a read while eating. They catered well for families. The seating was varied from standard tables and chairs to comfy sofas and arm chairs. A good experience overall. Thanks

Popped in for brunch with a friend, first time we’ve been. The staff were friendly and attentive and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food despite it being busy. My eggs were cooked just as I asked, slightly firm. Nice lovely atmosphere. Will be back!

Such a fantastic place for food and drinks. We went there for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was vibrant, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. We would definitely be going back again.

Family meal. Everything was great. This restaurant was chosen as it catered well for specific dietary requirements. Will definitely go again.

Great spot in Amersham. Food was excellent, I tried the Tapas board and it was very good with great flavours.

Met up with some friends on a wet May Bank Holiday Monday. Metro Lounge was the closest coffee shop to the Metropolitan Line station in Amersham. We found a table, up the few steps, well away from the door, to dry off a little, as we ordered and drank coffees. Cannot comment on the food offerings, but the coffees were promptly served and drinkable.

We usually love coming to Metro Lounge and have done many times, particularly for brunch. However, last weekend the service was absolutely shocking. Had to ask twice for our table to be cleaned. Then when we had finished lunch and the dessert finally arrived (after waiting 20 mins to be told the order didn’t go through on the till) I asked the waitress if she could clear away the lunch plates she just glared at me! ! What, it’s not your job to do that?? Will not be returning!

Having returned to the cafe after a previous successful visit this time was a little bit different. Although the food was mostly delicious the most expensive burger on the menu seemed a bit over priced for the size, the teaspoon of slaw that accompanied the few chips too made the plate look a bit too big for the meal. The cutlery was plonked on the table after the first meals arrived, it seemed very understaffed which might be why the servers showed little care - the condiment bottles were filthy and there were no colouring in pencils for the kids. It’s a shame as the venue offers so much potential but maybe the lack of staff let them down on this occasion.

Have visited many times before and have always been pleased with the food and the service. We visited at the weekend and left feeling like we had inconvenienced them by visiting. The 3 cheese side of chips was a joke to say the least. The smallest portion of fries with a minuscule amount of cheddar cheese sprinkled on top. The marscapone sauce was non existent. We don’t normally send food back or complain but it was so pathetic we did. Sadly we had to chase up the fries after waiting 15 minutes only to be presented with a plain bowl of fries! Another 10 minutes later the fries arrived still the same minuscule portion we were given to start with! Two of us had burgers which were good, chip portions definitely on the small side and the coleslaw on the side was warm? We also had to ask for cutlery which arrived with no knives. Chased the waitress again for knives to be told they had ran out of them and finally came back with steak knives. Such a shame.

Visited for brunch with the family. The lady serving us enquired if we could get chocolate sauce for the kids Pancakes and the kitchen staff advised they only had enough for one of the kids and caramel sauce for the other. We said this would be ok and when the food arrived neither of the 2 kids had chocolate sauce. Staff didn’t show much customer service and the food was bang average. Avocado was a mash rather than Smash! I’ve heard good things about this place but not pleased with our visit.

Went for a drink only on a recent Saturday, when staff started bringing in the outside furniture at 9:50 and stacking it right next to our table, the whole time leaving the door open during a freezing night. Their website states that they close at 11:00 but it was clear the staff wanted us to leave early, and when we did at 10pm, not even a polite goodbye or thank you, poor service.

Love coming here but the food is pretty hit and miss. The beef burgers are amazing but don’t chance the chicken burgers because each time I’ve had one it’s been incinerated to destruction point. Ordered the Kiev burger last Saturday and it arrived resembling something like a deep fried leathery old shoe sole. Literally tough as old boots, with two tiny limp leaves of lettuce, missing the garlic butter and gremolata and served with roughly ten bits of fries which were like the broken dregs you get at the bottom of the bag. Didn’t want the hassle of returning it/asking for replacement and then having to sit and eat long after my partner had finished, so I just left it. Nobody came to clear the plates or check on the meal when we were eating, even though the place was practically empty. Not my best visit there.

Sunday service. Have been here before, but today was the worst experience. Dirty table next to us wasn't cleaned even up until we left. Glasses and dishes are not properly cleaned, stained and marked coffee and tea cups. Sauce bottle lids caked in old sauce. Food took ages. Start of the morning, already run out of pancakes. Egg shashuksa with chickpeas, chickpeas not cooked properly. Vegan breakfast had burnt tomato. Coffees took 25 min. Food arrived at different times. Not a pleasant experience.

Like visiting your own living room. Comfortable in every sense with excellent food and drinks. I especially loved the coconut mocaccino.

Exemplary service from the member of staff with the tattoos. So friendly and helpful. And an added bonus that the bar sells Hoffmeister on draught.

Have been coming here for years and so disappointed today. Walked in to an empty restaurant, my 3 yr daughter said 'hello' to the waitress at the till who replied 'What can I get you?' The food was terrible - a lounge breakfast with mushrooms emptied out of a tin. There was a small kids table with paper, colour pencils and books but it was just a mess - all the colour pencils were blunt and when I asked for a sharpener, the same waitress replied 'it's gone'. Her and the chef spent the whole time whinging about their team members (didn't get her name but it was Thurs 21st March at 9am and she had black hair, black top with daisies) - shame they didn't have the initiative to pop to a shop (the restaurant is on a high st), but a sharperner and tidy up the kids activity table. She didn't come to ask if the food was ok and I tried to go up to her whilst she was talking complainingto the chef for the whole hour we were there but she didn't even turn around to acknowledge us so never got the chance to share feedback. We normally come here for our staff Christmas do but don't think we will this year. We also visit the Crawley branch before a flight from Gatwick but I guess that won't happen either. Such a shame. We left at 10am and half the restaurant still had chairs on the tables rather than on the floor.

This venue rates highly as a pleasant, relaxed spot to get a meal out with a friend or partner. Service from the staff is very consistently high standard and the food from the kitchen is excellent quality and well-presented. There is a decent range of food available to suit all tastes, but one thing this restaurant has absolutely nailed is the interactive online menu that will filter by allergen or dietary requirement. You can view a menu that meets your needs, and this is fantastic for anyone who needs to see a menu of things they can actually eat!! The restaurant has a rustic feel and good décor for a meal out. It is clear this business clearly cares about standards. I would love to commend our server most recently but sadly couldn't get her name! Would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a good café meal out.

Lovely place; good food drinks and friendly staff.. on the exterior wreaks of being a more style than substance establishment, but the friendly unassuming staff and quality of the dishes belie that.

My family and I dropped in for a bite to eat, our first time there we just wanted a change pace. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, food was nice and came in a timely fashion. We will definitely be back.

When it's busy here, the staff are outright rude and miserable. I went in on Friday, found one empty table and immediately their young waitress slapped down a 'reserved' sign on the table saying 'this table's reserved' and walked off, as I was about to sit down. They simply can't cope with a full house and seemigly don't want to cope. If they can't handle being busy ... don't even try. I'll take my money elsewhere.

First time visit here thus afternoon, seemed quiet steady away work wise. We were skeptical of coming into it given we are not from the area. Food is amazing. Really enjoyed their breakfast. Top quality! Staff were friendly and fantastic. Area was very clean. Other customers looked very friendly. This place even hosts for parent and toddler groups. Seems to be very family friendly run. Oreo milkshake is the best 👌 😍

What a shambles. Metro Lounge used to be a great place to go to work. Friendly service and a trusted menu. Not anymore. The manager who was working this morning couldn't be more high-handed if she tried. She always seems disappointed when customers arrive. The more who turned up, the more she sneers. Today she looked at me as if she'd prefer I left and went elsewhere and so I did. She was much happier sitting in the corner with a chef than serving the very few customers. Perhaps this is why the food orders now arrive cold more often than not. It's such a shame for the owners, but fortunately, there are lots of alternatives in Amersham, including the newly opened Jester, just down the road, which will be my new regular coffee and lunch stop. I noticed a few Metro Lounge regulars of old also in there. On the days this shift manager is working, the restaurant is treated more like her front room, with customers, to be honest, increasingly fewer customers, just an inconvenience and the atmosphere is thick with this vibe. When she first started, I assumed it was an off day and we all have these, but no, it seems to be her default setting. Not great a great character trait for hospitality and not a great role model for the high-turnover employees! Just before Christmas I was in here and a young chap was at the door, yelling abuse at the staff. He was clearly the disgruntled boyfriend of one. I'm made of sturdy stuff, but I'm not really into the C and F words punctuating my lunch.

Regular visitors to the Metro partly because they are dog friendly BUT on this occasion (early evening Saturday and relatively quiet) we ordered burgers and fries and waited for 30 minutes before service. The burgers were visibly waiting at the serving hatch and eventually arrived at our table several minutes later. Everything was warm but not hot and the greenery in the burgers had wilted. The waitress took the food away and after reheating, returned (hot salad and all). We were hungry so turned down the offer of waiting another hour to place a fresh order. Not a pleasant experience and no obvious cause for the delay - fortunately neither of us suffered from the twice cooked food although by then it was less than appetising. On reflection, we should have asked for a full refund and gone home!. A shame that relatively simple fare cannot be cooked well and efficiently and it has put us off calling in again.

Very relaxed atmosphere and beautifully decorated. We were greeted by the staff on entry and offered to take a seat wherever we wished. Our food was delivered quickly, and the staff were the correct level of attentive. They have drawing utensils and toys for children and a book swap library for people of culture.

The vegan options have impressed me every time. The falafel, the bang bang cauliflower, the curry, the breakfast...all excellent. The beer is always good too.

We went to the Metro Lounge in Amersham for lunch. We both ordered soup which was listed as mixed vegetable with spinach. It was awful - just brown water with a few green bits (spinach?) floating in it and mine had a lump of potato. It was watery and tasteless. I mentioned to the waitress that it was awful and to pass on my comments to the kitchen. She was less than interested and I doubt she did pass on the message. I have eaten here before and not been very impressed and this occasion did not change my view.

Just loved everything including the dogs.

Went to metro lounge for breakfast this morning.It was a fantastic experience this morning,very quiet to start off with but it got progressively buisier.The atmosphere in here is lovely and relaxing,love the decor that surrounds the walls,the lights are quite cool too!Love it how each lounge is so unique!Conveniently located on new Amersham high street with plenty of shops to explore,also high street parking and a multi story not too far away,located right by Amersham station with the Met line to places such as Rickmansworth,Northwood,Pinner,Harrow,Wembley and London and chiltern services to Aylesbury and London Marylebone.The food was absolutely delicious too,I loved my saussage and bacon butty(actually came as a hash brown butty but that was no problem )which was delicious.Sausages were tasty and well cooked,hash browns tasted delicious, crispy on the outside (nicely crunchy but not stale)and fluffy on the inside.Also the chorizo was lovely too.The bacon was very nice as well,crispy and tasted delicious.Portion sizes were good as well,nicely presented and nicely hot.Also staff were friendly today as always.Also I love the unlimited water station,I only used it once but they had plenty of glasses waiting for you to pick up and they were nice and clean.The toilets were also good too,they painted the walls nicely in there and it was clean.Fast yet relaxing service too.Would highly recommended and got Christmas started really nicely.Would highly recommend and hope to return sometime in the new year.

Lovely quaint bar which is a short walk away from the tube station. Great menu, and lovely staff. Delicious food, and lovely wine and drinks menu. Ideal for a working or social lunch.

I've been here many times before with family. We keep coming back for the easy-going informal atmosphere. It's a great place for a family get-together or a working lunch. The menu is very varied and caters to a wide variety of tastes... you can even order just toast and marmalade if you want! This time I was looking for a lighter lunch, so had the Chicken Souvlaki. It came bigger than expected, but no complaints there! You can order from your table via the QR code. This is clearly their preferred method. We needed to slightly customise one of the dishes, which they were more than happy to do, so I went to the bar to place our order. It was a little chaotic at the bar with three staff standing with their backs to me. All the staff were very friendly, but I think they should also go round the tables before people order to check that the guests are ok, and don't have any particular requirements or questions. Great place though. Will definitely be back.

Awful. Very upsetting and ruined my grandson’s birthday. Went for an early meal so it wasn’t late For him. Ordered via app and had to pay for deserts and tip up front. Waited about 45 mins for mains- all the hot food was cold. The deserts (with birthday sparker and candle provided by us) just didn’t arrive and we queried it several times only to be told they did not have any experienced chefs and it would be at least another fifteen minutes. My son-in-law could see into the kitchen from the bar, that one of the chefs was just staring at the orders for the whole time he stood there. When a refund was requested, as we couldn’t stay any longer, we were told that there was no refund due as desserts were part of the deal. Eventually they gave the refund. Dreadful experience!!!

Bad staff but a Cool little place. Staff are unprofessional all chatting little working. No way to distinguish staff from customers as there is no uniform they were in light-wash jeans and hoodies no aprons or name tags. Food came out quickly which was nice however it got cold waiting for sauce I was trying to make eye contact with staff however they turned a blind eye. Someone else told a worker that we needed assistance. Small portions and overpriced for basic ingredients but great options. Very cramped but nice options of seating. Would skip it and go somewhere else. Took a friend for her birthday I was totally embarrassed. It could be an amazing place but it needs a bit of straightening out and dusting.

Great atmosphere, comfy sofas, excellent coffee, friendly staff who went above & beyond, came back for lunch (shakshuka - PERFECT for a cold day!) & their homemade pink lemonade. Really enjoyed it - it's not your average coffee shop, there was a big craft/games table for kids, nice buzz with quite a few people (singles reading, pairs chatting, groups eating, etc.) but still plenty of room & happy staff with great music. Took home a carry-out slice of Victoria sponge cake, v nice. Completely gutted they couldn't sell me a lampshade :) Definitely recommend, will be back soon!

Was looking forward for lunch at the metro lounge with a friend I haven’t seen in a while. The customer service was not to normal standard. Being ask at my age (over 50) not to tear the paper menu up! Not even a hello welcome to metro lounge, how can I help you. Had to get up a number of times to get service even though not that busy. Breakfast items at bar to be sold to public not covered up. On the upside food was ok.

We thought we'd go for a brunch having dined in the Ealing and High Wycombe Lounges we are used to the drill. Thankfully the Amersham branch wasn't too busy but perhaps we found the reason. We checked in on the app, proceeded to go through the ordering process. Quite a few of the options were immediately unavailable for selection and after selecting from the options presented it turns out my dish also wasn't available. When ordering a coffee or shake, full fat milk only with the option of semi skimmed or oat greyed out. I settled for a simple brunch of oak smoked bacon an poached eggs on a muffin and my partner her usual Mexican superbowl. We waited over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. My eggs were hard poached, the bacon was mostly fat, muffin was ok. The Superbowl had red onion added, not on the menu and never experienced at any other outlet. Rather than send it back and wait another age, my partner proceeded to pick most of it out. For over £30 it was a disappointment, in fact it would have been disappointing for half that much.

Popped in with two hungry ratty kids at 3pm. Super friendly staff. Fantastic fries - kids described them as the 'best in the world'.

I met my daughter off the London train and we popped in here for a cuppa. We shared a really lovely salad and sat in some super comfy chairs admiring the decor and artwork. I will defnitley come back and treat my son to some lunch here soon. Well done Metro Lounge!

The beauty of this place can't really describe it. When you go inside is like you are in a different world. Really like this place for his authenticity. They have very good food, plenty of space to sit and very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place.

myself and some girlfriends popped in for a cocktail and snacks after we had been at somewhere else for brunch. we enjoyed our experience, the staff were interested in us and the cocktails were lovely too. i recommend visiting as its getting better with each visit.

I had lunch in this restaurant. The supper was served fast and service was good. I had pulled brisket chilli, who was slow cooked and very delicious. On negatives was the small portion and the tiny quantity of beef in dish. It was more beans...

A nice, local place, with a friendly atmosphere and good food.

Had 2 takeaway coffee's and 1 hot chocolate. Very slow service and we had to say we ordered takeaway as the drinks were being put in to mugs Instead of takeaway mugs . The coffee was the worst coffee I've tasted. The hot chocolate was very week and the milk did not taste fresh. Very disappointed. I think more training is needed.

Fantastic food and service for brunch this weekend. Food arrived promptly and was delicious despite there being a very large group of us! The staff were lovely, helpful and attentive. Would definitely return to the Metro Lounge next time we’re in the area! Thank you very much for a lovely meal

Amazing service for our group of 23 hangover brunch this morning! Mike and team totally on it. Great food , cover all our dietary requirements (many) with no trouble. Food all served perfectly hot and together. Thanks again!!
