Lovely inn for a nights stay. We booked this based on location to wedding venues we were viewing and were very happily surprised, especially for the price. Plenty of parking outside. Room newly renovated, spacious and nice and clean. Luxury toiletries in the bathroom. Bed large and comfy. Drinks prices at the bar really reasonable and food great with plenty of choice. We had the beef roast dinner and gammon with chips followed by a sticky toffee pudding. Would recommend all dishes. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, everything made fresh to order with high quality ingredients. Overall, this is great value for money and we would stay again if in the area.

I have visited this place many many times. Because it is the very best. The breakfast is fit for a king, the ambience is lovely and the staff and welcoming and wonderful. The deli itself is like a classic high end deli with the sort of fascinating foods you can’t really get anywhere. It’s a beacon of delight in a world of bland mediocrity. I just hope it finds the clientele that deserve it. People who cherish an affordable but better experience.also an absolutely first class breakfast. I’ve eaten all around this town and there is none to hold a candle to it.

Before making the hike up to High Cup Nick (must do!), we stopped in at the Pantry and Janice made up sandwiches to take with us. Lovely. Then when we came back down, a little weary, perfect coffee and home made sponge cake was waiting for us. Thanks for looking after us Janice.

Really lovely cafe the two ladies working were really friendly and professional, service was quick and the food was fresh and well presented. The cafe itself is immaculately clean and it’s nice to see a few original features like the big old bank safe.

Went in with wife I had chicken potato and tarragon pie with mash and veg, she had jacket potato and tuna mayo with salad. All excellent and including coffee cost £21. Polite staff, very clean.

While looking for food we stumbled on this lucky find. The Bothy is a very welcoming themed cafe, due to most other venues in Kirby Stephen only serving drinks that day the bothy was busy but we still received a warm welcome and advised we would have a wait, we didn’t mind so placed our order. The food was different, not the cheapest but absolutely delicious, the staff even though very busy were so polite and kept us informed of progress with our order. A bit more of an offer for children would be a bonus.

Dropped in at the end of our hike. Very friendly, great quality tea with a pot of hot water given automatically and no need to ask. Excellent home made cake. Great value for money, especially regarding it is the lakes. For two people we e paid more for just the cakes elsewhere.

Such a special restaurant. We came in the winter time and sat upstairs in the loft- every single thing on the menu was incredible, from the drinks to the tapas to the desert. Ally and Mike have built such an awesome restaurant and this is genuinely one of our favorite places that we’ve ever been. Can’t thank them enough for the hospitality and experience!

So. Unpleasantly surprised by the owners apperance and room in the hotel. Found cobwebbs and dust. And a little termite. I had to pray that night to the great Lord to help me through the night. When I fell asleep I was woken by something scratching on the floor which was a cockroach. It was horrrible to see and couldn't belive my eyes. What a mukky place and will not return. Also there was a horrible smell lingering around.
