Came to see the lambs and piglets so thought we would have lunch as well and we were not disappointed. The quiche was lovely and tasty and I like that there was an option of chips or jacket spud with it. The loaded fries with chilli were excellent. We took some lemon meringue cheesecake home as were too full to eat at lunchtime and it was lovely. Another place we will return to soon

The cafe is light and airy and the service and quality of the food is excellent. We both had the breakfasts everything was cooked to perfection and the portion size was very filling. A place to return to most definitely.

On arriving at Owen's farm Cafe we were pleasantly surprised how clean and inviting it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything we ordered was cooked and presented beautifully. I would highly recommend the full English breakfast. Definitely well worth a visit.

Had a lovely breakfast here. Everything was perfectly cooked and just the right portion sizes. We enjoyed the kids play area outside, and looking at the goats.

We bought a few meat products. Some bacon which was UNBELIEVABLE- I normally cut the rind off but I’m so glad I didn’t. It was like crackling! So good. Got some sausages, lovely and meaty, no shrinking. Also bought 2 sirloin steaks as a treat. It cooked really well, so soft and buttery. Lovely fat marbling which is what we prefer. Delicious!

We visted this farm shop on Sunday as we were visiting friends at their holiday home, a cottage close by. We went for breakfast which was good to be fair . There is also a farm shop attached , where I purchased three bits of sirloin steak which was just shy of £30. Once home and cooked , the quality of the meat wasn’t good for what you would expect from a farm shop and the price, full of fat and gristle .So much so we couldn’t eat as a whole piece of steak and had to cut up and have in a sandwich out of the best bits as looked awful.I contacted the shop by email politely to inform them of the quality. I had a response that said they were sorry after seeing picture evidence and asked me for the batch details from the label which I then emailed over. I was then told that nothing would be done as a gesture of good will , in terms of a refund and that their packaging clearly shows the meat and it wasn’t their fault it was full of fat. Also , other customers had feedback their meat was good , which was supposedly from the same batch which I find hard to believe. Absolutely shocking customer service, my steak clearly wasn’t acceptable and the issue should have been handled so much better by the owner. Disappointing and sadly we will not return or recommend.

A typical farm shop and cafe, situated on a small lane north of Kirkby Stephen village, we perused the menu at a table and ordered from the counter. There’s the usual cafe food choices and a bunch of Specials. I believe they try and source all their ingredients very locally to the farm which is great. I tried ham, egg and chips. It arrived fairly quickly and was hot and tasty. But very much on the small side…2 small thin slices of ham, oven fries and just one small egg :-( The home made cakes looked tempting so we tried the home made Bakewell Tart. Again this was delicious and full of flavour, but the smallest slice you can imagine. At £4, it was poor value. This is a nice to have a bite to eat, with ethical, tasty, food. But it’s expensive for the small quantities served which is a shame.

We were staying nearby and decided to stop for breakfast before hitting the trails. Plenty of parking available. The cooked breakfast was very good, friendly staff and quick service. Would definitely recommend

Reading a couple of reviews they have taken previous criticism on board. Beef and horseradish on thick high quality granary bread. Bacon, brie and cranberry baguette. Both served with salad and slaw. High quality ingredients and very tasty. Clean premises, good selection in the farm shop. Friendly staff.

Had a really lovely lunch followed by a delicious cake. Great setting, the staff were really friendly and helpful. We will be returning to try the breakfasts soon. Definitely worth a visit for breakfast, lunch, or coffee and cake. Good outdoor space for eating and play facilities for children.

This is the 2nd time we have been this time we brought the mother and father in law we all had the sunday Yorkshire pudding which was cooked lovely could of done being a little warmer but was ok it’s a nice big space to eat in with farm shop items for sale in the back area staff are friendly and helpful lots of homemade cakes and biscuits to eat in or take away I notice on other review people complaining about the price of things but £12 for a roast dinner is pretty good in todays climate it’s not a belly busting plate full but it’s enough and the meat was lovely my wife is gluten free and they can do a Yorkshire for her as well which is something she normally does not get. Overall it’s a nice place would we come back yes we would support local business and give them a try 👍

This place is still fairly new so hopefully improvements will be made so it can reach its full potential. It's in a great setting and I've been once before for breakfast which was lovely. However lunch was disappointing. The beef and horseradish sandwich was served on cheap sliced bread and the cheesy nachos served with the burger were burnt and the cheese wasn't melted. The food isn't cheap so you expect things to be right. Maybe we got them on a bad day but the staff lacked warmth and professionalism - again it's a new venture and maybe they don't have experience in hospitality. There was a young child in school uniform behind the counter - touching everything which was off putting - and generally having free rein at the counter and around the tables. The cafe is dog friendly which is fine but at one point a dog appeared which didn't seem to belong to a customer and started to growl at people. If this was a farm dog I don't think it's appropriate for it to be allowed inside.

Came here on my auntie's birthday. The cafe is in a really nice location and inside it is very spacious and pleasant. The price of a mug of tea wasn't too bad. Service was quick. We also bought some Lamb Henry from the shop which we took home which was amazing. The prices of some items are extortionate. £10 for a jacket potato? And having to pay to add fillings? Also, you can get a toasted tea cake with butter and jam for £2.50 but toasted tea cake with just butter was £3.50. Something doesn't make sense here.... Overall would reccomend maybe for a drink and possibly sharing a cake (not a £4 brownie though!).

When paying £7-50 for a ham and relish sandwich you don’t expect supermarket sliced white bread. The ham and relish were very good but just badly let down by the bread and small portion size

*Booths*: £4.25, coffee 6/10 (no flat white option so too milky), roll 7/10 (good quality, no butter/only marg). Overall 7/10 *Cranstons*: £3.85, coffee 2/10 (just not good), roll 7/10 (Cumberland is best of all deals, very peppery/spiced, no butter/only marg, nice chutneys, bread roll a bit doughy) Overall 5/10 *Greggs*: £2.85, coffee 7/10 (actually decent, a bit highly caffeinated for me), roll 5/10 (decent at the price point, always bacon though as sausage are low quality, no butter/only marg) Overall 6/10 *Tim Hortons*: £3.50, coffee 3/10 (just go black coffee in which case 7/10, everything else far too milky), wrap 5/10 (tastes kind of nice at the time, but you know it’s crap - like crack) Overall 4/10 *Rheged*: £4.25, coffee 8.5/10 (no flat white option so too milky), roll 8.5/10 (good quality, butter, lovely crunchy roll, bacon or sausage as an option are fine and an extra quid for both) Overall 8.5/10

Tebay has sadly followed so many other examples of once good places becoming popular and then losing what made them popular in the first place. Used to to be great quality but now feels like any number of other service stations. So sad that family run businesses get greedy and expand or sell out and the quality and service plummets. Americano coffee rubbish more like a filter coffee. Don't bother making a special stop here
