Heaven just off the M6!! Wonderful little cafe & shop for gifts, handmade chocolates being made on site, AMAZING ice cream & coffee. If you’re in the area, pull off the motorway & visit!! These kind of treats aren’t found in many places!! & if you’re looking for gifts, get some of these chocolates to take back home, they’re stunning!!

As someone who is on a low saturated fat diet, Chocolates are a rare treat for me, so i will only buy the best and for me that means Kennedys, i have tryed many of the upmarket Chocolates from other makers and nothing comes close, never to sweet, just the right ratio of Chocolate to filling and an amazing choice of flavours. If you really know your Chocolates get them here, you wont be disappointed.

This is a really nice cafe for breakfast and light snacks. Coffee is as good as the service- so no complaints at all. The shop is great and gives the opportunity to buy some delicious chocolates made on the premises. There’s a viewing window from inside the dining area to where the chocolates are being made. Lovely place that’s well worth the visit!

This is a wonderful place; there is a counter selling Kennedys Fine Chocolates, in a shop selling other produce (including dairy free options) and gifts. The chocolate factory is also on site. The coffee shop is in the back room with lots of hand made animal doorstops (?). There is a variety of sandwiches and cakes, we all opted for toasted sandwiches, which were served with crisps and a small side salad. The staff were friendly, service was prompt and the food was good. There was a nice touch when the bill arrived with a sample of their chocolates; milk and dark chocolate options for everyone. Good value for money.

Called in before heading home on M6. Was going to order coffee and cake but wasn't sure how the cafe 'worked' - no visible staff or cakes / coffee machine on display so bought some chocolate in the shop instead - 60% dark chocolate with lime & ginger (£1.80) and Eton Mess slab (£5). Nice but have had better for the same price. Staff pleasant enough.

Called in on a wet and cold Friday afternoon. It was fairly quiet. We had two cups of 'Brown Coffee', their name not mine, and two different cakes, which were individual portions, not sliced from a large cake. The cakes were fantastic and the coffee excellent. It is a coffee shop but they do sell snacks and light meals and you can have other types of coffee if the name bothers you. You have to run the gauntlet of the chocolate shop and its delicacies to reach the cafe itself. You have been warned! The Cafe/Shop is smack in the middle of the village with parking outside. Will definitely be back.

Delicious cakes and scones, beautifully presented, and a wide variety to choose from. It was interesting to look through the window into the factory and see the chocolates being produced. It was also a lovely touch to get a couple of free little chocolate tasters each with the bill - these were also delicious. We went to the coffee house twice over the weekend. Both times the cakes and coffee/tea were delicious. There were also a couple of gluten free cake options. The staff are young, which is great - I had a similar job when I was their age. I would just suggest that they would benefit from a little more customer service training and feedback. We would certainly recommend the coffee house (and the chocolates!) to anyone in the area.

Orton Village is very small but has a few historical spots such as Weslyan Chapel built in 1833 and the Mill House built in 1695, and of course the George Hotel.

Sat outside at the back as we had our old Charley dog with us, not the most loveliest spot as there were cars speeding past us two foot away from our table. The cakes however were lovely, husband had a Gluten Free chocolate cake and I had a "normal" carrot cake they came served warm with a blob of cream on the side that had little bits of chocolate in it, both are well recommended

Really lovely Coffee house and chocolate factory that I have visited many times. You can see the chocolate being poured into moulds and made on site. There is a great variety of hand made chocolates and you can get them gift wrapped. You can also get chocolate animals, eggs and other objects with personal messages piped on and there is a well stocked gift shop with all sorts of unusual items. The coffee shop has windows looking into the chocolate factory and is nice and light. I would definitely recommend the hot chocolate, although there are lots of lovely treats. I find the cafe a little pricey, but overall I still give it an excellent rating and they do sweeten the cafe bill by giving you a couple of free chocolates! This is also an opportunity to visit the lovely village of Orton where there is a local shop and post office and a nice pub. Enjoy!

I very rarely give poor reviews and we really wanted to like this place but felt something wasn't quite right. When we went in, several tables hadn't been cleared and, when they were, only the crockery etc. was taken away - the tables weren't wiped down at all. We cleared the crumbs and what appeared to be cress off ours and sat down. Service was very slow and others left before their order was taken. Another couple who had only gone in for hot chocolate were complaining about how long they had had to wait. The butternut squash and tomato soup was weak and needed a lot of seasoning but the gluten free roll was welcome. We waited a long time for our dessert and had to ask for it in the end. My husband said the Dorset apple cake was lovely and we did get chocolate tasters free. You pay your bill in the chocolate shop and therein is another problem. The chocolate shop is a little piece of heaven but the ladies there give a lot of time to people choosing individual chocolates so, once again, you have a good wait to pay your bill. This all happened on Good Friday which was a busy day for them and the staff were working hard but we felt they either needed more staff or their systems needed looking at again.Would certainly go again for chocolate/s but would give the café a miss.

While looking for food we stumbled on this lucky find. The Bothy is a very welcoming themed cafe, due to most other venues in Kirby Stephen only serving drinks that day the bothy was busy but we still received a warm welcome and advised we would have a wait, we didn’t mind so placed our order. The food was different, not the cheapest but absolutely delicious, the staff even though very busy were so polite and kept us informed of progress with our order. A bit more of an offer for children would be a bonus.

We go to The Bridge about 4 times per year. We are not very extravagant but when we do eat out we want it to be better than I can make at home. Any guest we bring with us all love it too. Every meal we’ve had here has been excellent! My favourites are Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé, The Seafood Linguini, my hubby loves the Fish & Chips (he has this every time he goes, lol) . My son loves the Squid starter and I also love the Pate when it’s on. I had a gorgeous fish course in spring but I forget the name of the fish which was the whitest fish I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend Bridge Bistro.
