We visited for lunch with our toddler. There’s a very wide reasonably priced menu for adults plus kids options. We had baguettes & beans on toast plus drinks and all enjoyed our food. The service was quick, the place was clean and I liked you can see in the kitchen to the food being made too. There a lots of tables, it’s nice to know a place you can usually get a table in.

Friendly (English speaking!) staff, large menu an unlike most of Penrith , open on a Sunday (well done you). Not posh food but reasonable price and quality and great for breakfast options

This cafe has a covered eating area outside but it allows dogs inside. It makes no difference how good or bad the food is if you are sat next to a big wet smelly dog that pants and has dog breath. Very bad experience will never return. I will never understand why the owners allow dogs inside when they have an outside covered area. If someone gets infected by a tick from a dog they will understand.

Coffee was ok but the food is overpriced for what is pretty low quality (all cheap catering standard: white stodgy bread, hard poached eggs, cheap sausages). Morrisons cafe is better value for less.

We were staying the weekend and wanted something to eat on a Sunday. Not many places seemed open and luckily we stumbled across New Market Cafe. The food was delicious. Very quickly served by lovely friendly staff. We enjoyed it that much we returned the following day and ordered 2 different meals off the menu. Can definitely recommend eating here. It seemed a lot of regulars visited which is always a great sign. Gorgeous food, lovely staff, clean and friendly. Thank you 😊

Visited for the first time today. We both had jacket potatoes which were excellent and the coffee was also very good. Overall a very enjoyable lunch. We would definitely visit again.

Found this place by accident after a walk around Penrith's little streets. It looked quite busy (so quite popular) we decided to sit outside as it was hot indoors. They had a huge cake menu which the kids loved. Adults had panini's (cranberry/cheese & tuna cheese), garnished with a lovely little salad and coleslaw. The waitress was friendly and welcoming, service quick. Tea for two was generous size! Would love to visit again.

This cafe is excellent. I had a jacket potato and it was delicious and very reasonably priced. The tea and cappucino we had was also very good. I don't often write reviews but felt this cafe deserves it. If you are in Penrith give it a try.

I visited here with my boyfriend and mother-in-law today for some breakfast, it was lovely! Price wise absolute bargain and the portion sizes were great. Staff were friendly enough, and plenty of tea in the tea pot for 5 cups of tea. Definitely recommend and will visit again next time we pass through Penrith!

We walked around Penrith not wanting to visit a “chain” style cafe and found this little gem. Although we only had a filled baguette, me egg and cress the other half cheese and onion. George ours little salad and really creamy coleslaw. Well worth a visit.

Tried here for lunch. Reasonable selection of dishes to choose from on the menu. The hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows was lovely. Food was lovely well cooked and nicely presented. Staff were attentive helpful and welcoming. Pleasant surrounding clean light and airy. Will be going again when next in Penrith.

We stopped here before travelling home after a holiday in the lakes and it was the best cooked breakfast we have had. Cheap prices but amazing food. I had a full English and my boyfriend a bacon and sausage sandwich and all cooked to perfection. The portions were big for the price and the waitresses were very friendly so the atmosphere was great! They are open 7 days a week now so I’d highly recommend stopping there for breakfast!!

After looking at images online I had high expectations of this cafe and it certainly lived up to them. The waiters were kind and nice to be around, they weren’t to in your face. Food selection had a wide variety- considering how picky of an eater I am- and I was pleasantly surprised to see not only the size of the meal but the quality for such low prices! Would certaintly recommend, the only thing that let the side down was the size of the place so it was quite crammed, but can’t be helped!

Always use this cafe when in town. Sometimes difficult to get a seat. A large varied menu is on offer and the portions are a little on the large side but always delicious

Situado en Bowling Green Lane, a un tiro de piedra del centro de la ciudad, mi esposa y yo entramos y sentamos los menús en la mesa. La camarera fue muy atenta en cuanto a lo que queríamos. Pedí el almuerzo buffet. Mi esposa, la Gammon, con té y café. la comida estaba recién preparada y estaba bien preparada y sabía muy bien y todo a un precio muy razonable, ya que estábamos comiendo, el lugar comenzó a llenarse hasta el punto de que no había más espacio para mí, esto es una buena señal de buena comida. Ser servido como mucho parecía ser asiduos, muy recomendable

Paramos en Penrith para almorzar mientras viajábamos al sur y encontramos este lugar. Estaba muy ocupado con muchos lugareños, lo que suele ser una buena señal. Tomé sopa y pan fresco seguido de un café y disfruté todo. Aunque ocupado, la cocina y el personal de servicio fueron muy eficientes, lo que significa que mi viaje no se retrasó.

A cracking find due to the need to locate somewhere for breakfast as a result of the Premier Inn failing to be able to provide any cooked food. Quality, variety and value very good indeed..

We have eaten here a few times now and cant complain about anything, it is always very busy over the lunch period but the staff go out of their way to be very polite and helpful, the service is always good and the food is delicious , the breakfasts are huge and very nice, the toasted sandwiches are also very nice, they come with a salad and coleslaw which was very fresh, excellent place to go, not been disappointed at all, will definitely recommend.

I haven’t been for a while, but a few months ago visited with my grandchildren. They used to have the all day breakfast or a beef burger and I had the jacket potatoe. My eldest grandson said it was the best beef burger he had ever had. A good choice of drinks and all reasonably priced. Must go back soon in the school holidays.

We've been to the New Squares Cafe many times for lunches, never disappointed, can heartily recommend the all day breakfasts, the omelettes, the sandwiches and fish and chips. The staff are super, always helpful, the prices are right and everything is very clean - what more would you want. Keep up the good work, we'll continue to support this excellent cafe.

Was recommended this cafe and it didn’t disappoint!! Stopped in for breakfast (full one with extra black pudding) service was so fast it was brought out before the hot drinks! Will visit again!!

My first visit today and I was left feeling disappointed.The service was Extremely quick & the waiting staff were quite polite but sadly let down by the poor quality of their food! I decided on a cheese and ham sandwich which came with coleslaw and a side salad, The side salad looks like it had just been thrown at the plate from a bag of packed supermarket salad! And the coleslaw tasted terrible, worse than super market value coleslaw...possibly past its use by date? The sandwich was okay but sadly they had used cheap margarine & processed ham. For the price they are charging there are better cafes in the local area that do better food at a similar price.

Prices and quality of food are excellent. Always call here when in Penrith. Just bit out of way from centre but worth the few extra paces!!!!

We frequently have lunch here and it is always well made and good value. Last week my wife had Poached Eggs on toast and I had an Egg Mayonaise sandwich and both were lovely. The cafe is always clean and the staff are efficient and always polite. It takes a great effore of willpower not to succumb to having a piece of cake as well !

We stopped in Penrith for breakfast on a long journey up to Scotland. This place was recommended to us by a local and although we had to wait until 9am for it to open it was well worth it. Breakfast was excellent, huge and set us up for the day. The staff were lovely and it was bright, warm and clean.

Found this little place for lunch. Food was OK waited 20 mins for it. A few people were in. Husband ordered baked potato. Was a bit overdone. I got a prawn sandwich. Tasteless. Very good prices. Would go back.

This is a super little cafe and we go in regularly for a coffee or for lunch. The menu is great, food is freshly cooked and tasty, prices are very low, and the service is excellent. I love the European feel to the cafe, and the nice little twists with the soups and salads, which are delicious. AND they make bubble and squeak! Yum.

Ate breakfast here - quick service, freshly made food that was piping hot served with a smile. Good value for money and situated in the centre of Penrith. Will definitely be back for a lunch.

We went to the New Squares for breakfast, again conveniently close to our Premier Inn. I had the full breakfast whilst my daughter had the veggie version and my wife had scrambled eggs on glutenfree toast. Food was tasty and in good portions. The service was friendly without being intrusive and the decor very pleasant. Noticed they serve a selection of glutenfree cakes as well as speciality coffees. A pleasant experience which I'm sure we'll repeat again.

Can’t believe I’ve not been here before. Went for the bigger breakfast, one of our party asked for poached eggs instead of fried and it was no issue. Great breakfast and the included filter coffee was lovely too. Definitely didn’t need the bigger one as couldn’t finish it. Really lovely, highly recommend

This was my first visit here for lunch. The soup was OK, the granary bread very good, service a little slow BUT 3 screaming children was horrendous. At one point they seemed to be taking it in turns to see who could scream the loudest. Latter on a smiling father watched his child run around the cafe. The staff apologised for the awful behavior but did nothing about it. I'll not be returning. In hindsight I should have just left.

We always go to this great little cafe when staying at the Premier Inn which is just 2 minutes walk away ( turn right out of the main door of the Inn and continue through the brand new shopping units between it and Sainsbury's ).

Visited this café today for the first time since new management took over, excellent service, didn't even wait 3mins to be served, and wow the cheese and onion omelette took up half the plate, (massive oval plate) with salad, coleslaw n chips, I couldn't eat it all, but was delicious, I had icecream for pud, my goodness, two strawberry, one vanilla and one chocolate scoop of icecream with cream on top, I will be going again, great food, great prices and excellent service, well done staff, x

Mientras parando en el Premier Inn nos dimos cuenta de este café al final de un complejo comercial tristemente desocupadas. El menú del desayuno era buena, como la comida y precios razonables. El café era cómoda, había un montón de habitación y el personal era amable. Nos quedamos encantados de apoyar este café local.

Necesitábamos una parada de repostaje en ruta a casa y me encontré a través de tripadvisor - felizmente! Gran relación calidad-precio, gran calidad y raciones generosas, junto con un personal amable y servicial. Está en una ubicación un poco extraño - el desarrollo de Nueva plazas es nueva y todavía no habitada por muchas empresas, pero merece la pena buscarlo. Yo tenía un sandwich de atún fresco con ensalada y mi marido tenía una parrillada mixta que realmente disfruté. Entonces tenía un pedazo encantador de pastel angel exhaustivamente y un capuchino tan grande no pude terminar! Sin duda volveremos cuando estamos de nuevo en Penrith.

Ordered the full breakfast on holiday in lovely Penrith. Breakfast presented lovely and all the staff greeted us on our arrival. 2 large coffee's later and we were good to go! Lovely clean well run cafe.

The cafe is situated in the unlet or closed down "new" shops which you walk through from Sainsburys to the town centre. Very clean cafe with good range of meals and friendly staff

Comí hoy aquí con mi marido y mi hija, tuve una tortilla muy agradable con ensalada y patatas fritas era una enorme comida! Mi marido tenía salchichas y bacon sandwich y mi hija tenía el enrollado de pollo tikka. El servicio era muy bueno y aunque la cafetería estaba llena la comida rápidamente. Tienen un menú muy extenso, así como ofertas especiales y tortas caseras. Sin duda comer aquí de nuevo y lo recomiendo altamente.

La última vez que visitamos este café en marzo de 2017, he pedido el desayuno preparado, que estaba delicioso y a un precio razonable de 4 libras. 95 Este llegó con una salchicha, croquetas de patata, tostadas, un huevo, tomates y champiñones.

Spotlessly clean, friendly efficient service, nice food, we simply couldn't fault it. The only thing they should consider changing is having peas with everything!!

Nos detuvimos para comer. La comida era buena, sin embargo el café como ya han dicho otros, no era lo suficientemente fuerte. Detalles más finos son lo que digamos. Mayonesa en un botella y la etiqueta de las fusiones, ha impactaron en el lavaplatos demasiadas veces. Probablemente no la marca de mayonesa indicada en la botella y sin etiqueta fecha indicando la vida de estante. Vajilla estaba agrietada, lo cual fue una pena. Las mesas tenían servilletas de papel relleno bajo los pies para detenerlos mecedora, nada malo con el rock, tal vez parando quedaría mejor no usar confundieron las servilletas. Hay una fuerte presencia de cafetería en Penrith así dada la variedad que probablemente vaya a otro sitio en el futuro.

Hemos estado en el Cafe New plazas varias veces ya que es muy práctico cuando compras en Penrith. No hemos tenido una comida como solemos ir para elevenses, pero recomiendo el chocolate caliente y sus pasteles. El terciopelo rojo y la torta de zanahoria es muy bueno.

Si comes aquí, no pensando en volver a comer ese día. Fuimos con la fam, almuerzo. Dos de nosotros tuvimos el desayuno durante todo el día, sin duda llenará. El w tenía también una ensalada de atún, que era fantástico sus palabras no la mía y finalmente se consumió un pollo envoltura. Raciones generosas, bien de precio un agradable café lleno. Sin duda volveremos gracias.

Hemos tenido varias comidas fantásticas en este café y hoy no fue la excepción cuando elegimos la cena de asado. La comida era abundante y deliciosa, pero el inconveniente era que no había salsa de manzana para el cerdo o salsa de rábano picante para la carne. Aparentemente no mantener, pero seguro si anuncian una cena con asado en el menú principal, no como un especial, que deben ofrecer los correspondientes salsas para ir con ellos.

Visita de nuestra caravana y Penrith decidimos comer en el este café. El personal y el servicio era muy bueno y amable. Estaba ocupado por un almuerzo entre semana dado el número de cafés en la ciudad y se convirtió en claro por qué. Las comidas parece relación calidad-precio. Tuve el gourmand el desayuno y mi pareja tuvo el jamón y huevos con patatas y judías. La comida era fresca y bien preparada. En mi caso la única queja era que estaba un poco grasiento incluso teniendo en cuenta el contenido de dos huevos, tocino, black pudding rebanadas (3) 'alubias, setas, 2 croquetas de patata, salchichas y dos rondas de pan tostado. Por lo que a la altura de su nombre, ya que era muy, muy contundente. Mi queja fue que el jamón de socios fue procesados no "adecuado" de jamón. Sin duda será comer con moderación esta noche! Generalmente aunque volvería, si sólo para probar la lasaña, patatas fritas y guisantes.

Mi esposa y yo nos encontramos con NSC hoy en un viaje de un día a Penrith. Aparcamiento exterior Sainsburys donde puedes conseguir 3 horas de aparcamiento gratuito, está a unos 1 minutos NSC el camino a la ciudad. El café es acogedor y, sobre todo, cómodas y muy limpias. El personal es muy amable y rápido para responder. En cuanto a la comida, el menú es interesante y variado y todas las comidas a un precio razonable. Bien merece una visita.

En Penrith para visitar otra café pero estaba cerrado así que descubrimos este. Hay una amplia variedad de cenas de asado, paninis, bocadillos y tortillas, por no mencionar una encantadora selección de pasteles. Las tortillas eran agradables y bastante grandes, servido con patatas fritas, ensalada y col. No pedí en mina de cebolla pero por desgracia todavía tenía en ellos. Yo podía comer, pero preferiría que no había estado allí.
