Sadly now closed, Gather was always our coffee shop of choice, the food and coffee were great and the people who worked there were so friendly. We miss them.

Every Sunday during British Summertime, different charities and local good causes take the Hall, (the Old Village School Building in the triangle of roads) to raise funds and enormous praise for the fabulous homemade cooking! Although the title is ‘Teas’, I find I can put together a nice light lunch of sandwiches and quiche, and then I can’t resist staying on for the Tea!! Great fun, great causes, great prices and absolutely fantastic baking, I recommend you make it a regular event because it’s something special.

My partner and I visited Friday night, and from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. The staff checked in on us throughout the evening to make sure we were happy, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch the name of our main server, but everyone working that evening was absolutely lovely and professional. To celebrate me passing my driving test (only 30 years late!), they surprised me with a delicious brownie, complete with “Congratulations” written in chocolate sauce — such a thoughtful touch! As for the food, I genuinely don’t think I’ve had anything that good in ages. Highly recommend this place. And to the waiter we chatted with at the end: best of luck with your driving test on June 26th — you’ve got this! Trust your judgement and be confident.

Just had an amazing bacon and egg sandwich, cooked perfectly and tastes amazing, excellent coffee too, well done 👍🏼

We went to the Burns night bash, absolutely brilliant. Cullen Skink, haggis Neeeps and Tatties then Cranachan. All washed down with an excellent craft ale.

Had an Afternoon tea delivered to my door. Was excellent, sandwiches, little quiches ,savoury. Cakes were a delight,macarons, scones with jam & cream just a beautiful selection. Delivery on time and service was brilliant. Thankyou for making our celebration brilliant.

Outstanding, friendly service, lovely jackets with melted cheese, (not just grated), and wonderful cakes. Great atmosphere, thank you!

Had a fabulous lunch with friends for my birthday. What an ABSOLUTE hidden gem this place is! (I recommend that you save space for cake after lunch too, trust me, you'll be glad that you did!) They love dogs, and even have doggie sausages! There's a large outdoor area too. Thanks to all the staff there, they were wonderful. ... And thanks for my birthday candles too (you're never too old). My first ever review on here ! I don’t normally write reviews but this little gem of a place needs a mention! Lovely warm welcome by the owner and her small team, met with proper coffee and a superb lunch - I had Welsh rarebit and my friend had the poached eggs on toast - both done to perfection! I don’t even like coleslaw, but decided to try it after my friend said how nice it is - it didn’t disappoint, you can tell it’s all freshly made by the big give away of them making everything in front of you fresh to order. We took home some scones and tray bakes for our families- they went down an absolute treat! Apologies for the gushing first post, but when you find somewhere that’s as welcoming, and great food, you want to support them, especially with it being an independent business.

Great Pub and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. We had drinks their while having a quick meeting upstairs and the staff were really helpful and accommodating.

I recently visited this cafe to see if they made birthday cakes. They told me they didnt but could make a large round chocolate and guinness cake which they normally sell as a traybake in the cafe. So I decided to go for that and was I pleased that I did. The result was gorgeous, they did a fantastic job for me, and I cannot thank them enough. It made my husbands 70th birthday very special, and what a lovely couple they are.

Stunning little cafe - found by luck in passing, on the journey home. Great coffee, fab food and friendly staff. Delightful!
