Food was absolutely lovely however all occasions I have been here have been spoilt by the staff, the final push, an older man told me “leave so I can sit other tables” as I was having a cup of tea after my meal. I won’t be back.

Nice food. Unfortunately a lady on the desk ,possibly the owner, was unpleasant & brusque so spoiled the experience. Also freezing sat near the back as the lady kept going in & out the back door leaving it open & it was winter.

I had corned beef hash with red cabbage and fresh buttered crusty bread, utterly Devine . My Aunty enjoyed the very popular cheese pie with baked beans.we washed this down with twinnings fennel tea and mocha. Full tums unfortunately no space for any of the delightful homemade cakes

I visited with my mum at the weekend. We'd previously ordered an afternoon tea to be delivered to my in-laws which they'd really enjoyed. We both had a sandwich which was good and freshly made. It was all a bit spoiled though by the lady in charge who was audibly and constantly criticising the two younger ladies working there. It may be that it had been a very busy morning and everyone was tired, or they may have made mistakes, but going on and on at them in full hearing of customers there to enjoy lunch doesn't feel like the right way to fix things. People willing to work in hospitality are hard to find these days and it would be a real shame to lose those who are willing and give a ready smile to the customers even when in trouble.

Faultless aftermoon tea, better than some 4* hotels!Aside from usual fingers sandwiches, scones and sponges there were mini sausage rolls, boiled egg blinis, asparagus wrap, roast beef vol au vent, mini quiche and chocolate dipped strawberries.Needless to say we couldnt eat it all so took it home.Great value at £15 pp.Indoor and outdoor seating available. Will be back soon.

Had a birthday surprise for husbands birthday and it really was a treat. Organising was very easy and really dealt with well.Delivery was exactly as we were told and the presentation was lovely - it came in a large rigid plastic server with cover and a big white bow on the top - a nice touch for a birthday surprise! There were a number of different sandwiches: tuna mayonnaise, egg mayonnaise, 2 types of ham, smoked salmon - all well filled and very fresh. Could have had cheese too but asked not to have this. There were also mini quiches, vol au vents with roast beef and horseradish, sausage rolls and little sandwich tubes with cream cheese and asparagus. Then the cakes! There were slices of 3 different cakes - one with raspberry and cream, chocolate cake - very moist, and a gorgeous carrot cake. then a couple of mini ones: a raspberry square and a custardy one with what I think was apricot . Then came the very generous size scones with cream and jam - lovely! There was no way it was all going to get eaten at one sitting - we nibbled most of the afternoon and evening!Fabulous all round, thank you very much! We can't wait to be able to come in (please let it be soon!) and see what other delights you have.

Bought afternoon tea delivery for Dad's birthday after a recommendation which mum and dad really enjoyed! So decided to order one for me and my husband for Valentine's. I have to have a gluten free diet so I am always concerned when I order food, or before now I have had afternoon tea with cakes from a box out of the supermarket! Anyway this was so nice, very fresh, nice savories and real gluten free baked cakes! Husband loved his also so I will definitely be ordering again- Oh and a lot of thought had gone into the presentation! Well done nice treat!

We travel 8 miles purposely to visit this amazingly Tearoom. Firstly have a great walk up the Princes incline, work up an appetite then back to Poynton tearooms for the most pleasant experience. A fantastic choice of homemade specials, and an amazing menu. Food quality is quite something, exceptionally the best food i have ever had anywhere. Excellent service, prices are very reasonable, A new fantastic outdoor Marquee, which is very posh and expensive looking. Nowhere in greater Manchester can beat this place, I've tried the rest but Poyton tearooms is most definitely the very best. Thank you to the owners who put this place on the map.

I was nearby and weirdly craving a sugar rush (usually I'm a pasty/Scotch egg/sausage roll sort of bloke) and the reviews were good so I popped in.It was very busy but the staff were great and I was soon on my back to my car, where I demolished an outstanding scone.Definitely calling back!

A small but busy friendly tea room with homemade cakes and sandwiches and freshly prepared hot food. They cater for gluten free and dairy free. staff are very friendly and the owner Helen is a very talented cook. One of my favorite tea rooms I have visited around the UK and always feel welcome when I go in.

I contacted the Tea Room to enquire about their afternoon tea and they were very helpful so I booked for myself and a friend. We arrived at 12.30 and there was a table reserved for us. It was very busy so I was so pleased we had a table. We were served tea and about 10mins later they came with a three tiered cake stand full of sandwiches, cakes and the scones were fresh from the oven and warm. It was delicious. They refreshed the tea pot twice so definitely kept us topped up. We had a lot to catch up on and didn't leave till just before 4pm. There was no rush at all. It's a beautiful clean tea room with an outside area which would be lovely on a warm day (its suitable for kids too). Will hopefully have the opp to visit again and have already recommended this place.Thank you Poynton Tea Room for making our meet up very special.

My friend took me to these tea rooms as a birthday treat for afternoon tea. From walking through the door you felt the lovely surroundings. Very pleasant staff and the food was served on lovely bone china with a wonderful big pot of tea each. I have to say this is one of the best afternoon teas I have eaten! Lovely sandwiches with a lovely little salad, homemade breadstick and mini quiche. Lovely choice of cakes and 2 scones with jam and cream each. very reasonably priced as well Will most definitely visit here again

I've been here a few times and kept meaning to leave a review. The lady who owns and runs this place and clearly has a passion for it is friendly and welcoming. Several of us rocked up with buggies (on a few occasions) and she was very accommodating even though we almost filled the place up with our baby buggies. The cakes look and taste divine and the toasties and sandwiches were good too. Its very reasonably priced compared to a lot of places in poynton. The tea room is traditional and u n-pretentious. Perfect for an afternoon cuppa and cake!

Called in halfway round a walk in the freezing cold. Friendly chap who made us an excellent couple of lattes. There was some great looking cake but we were eating later. Warm and cosy interior, I could definitely spend more time in here.
