Very disappointing, food was truly badly cooked - quesadilla burnt, pancakes very thick, pasty and uncooked in the middle, eggs under cooked and food in general luke warm. Serving time almost 40 mins even though cafe almost empty. Such as shame as we'd come as a treat for our family from a visiting friend and we'd chosen the place based on positive previous visits. Won't be returning. Didn't feel we could address this during the meal as it was a special occasion.

Our first visit to Bollington and we were recommended to visit The Green. Free car park close to the High Street, easy walk, then warmly welcomed by the young staff. Breakfast tea was perfect and my latte was warm and made with lovely coffee. Poached eggs on toast for my wife ….done to perfection; my McMuffin was excellent with bacon, hash, sausage patty, fried egg…..will try the black pudding version next time :) Friendly service and attention throughout from the young staff. Thank You

On a Saturday morning, we chose to have breakfast at this lovely cafe in the equally lovely small town of Bollington. When we arrived just after opening at 9.30am, things were already busy. Clearly a popular place. The menu contained several options we would have loved to order - how to narrow it down? In the end we each chose one of the pancake options. Yes, there are even four different pancake options to choose from. The first treat was when the coffees arrived. I had asked for a double shot blackberry coffee in a flat white cup, and my coffee was both a good strength and properly hot. They had done a great job of properly heating the cup, which makes such a difference. And then the pancakes came out, a feast for the eyes. We also liked that when we asked for tap water, we were provided with glasses and a bottle of water rather than a tiny glass of water each, as can be the case in these parts. The cafe space itself is very pleasant - downstairs on a corner in a row of stone cottages, with an outlook across the narrow street to stone cottages on the other side. It’s a shame there are cars parked along the street, somewhat ruining the view. And on that subject, there is a free carpark at the top of the street. We followed up our breakfast with a walk up White Nancy and then back along the canal. A very pleasant trip.

A very nice little eatery in Bollington Cheshire. It is quite small so if your set on going I'd book ahead to avoid disappointment! Every one in our group had food envy over each others order ! I had the chicken burger, the bun was so soft and the chicken so tender and juicy I was very pleasantly surprised. Good portion size of chips accompanied the burger they were skin on type fries and delicious. Customer service was good food and drink orders took promptly and not too longer wait for food. The only thing I would say is the website link doesn't work and I'd seen several older menus to try and anticipate what was on the current menu but these are very minor points! Will have to think of another reason to visit now! Thanks for a nice lunch

Charming and fantastic little spot in Bollington, rightfully packed most of the time. We are frequent visitors and rate it very highly. The smashed hash browns are to die for. Superb ingredients and cooking, friendly staff and reasonable prices. I’d rather give it 4.5 if I could - the only criticisms I have is that the service can be pretty slow, the wait for food a bit long (not only when full) and lastly that it would be great to see several salads or other options on the menu that don’t involve any bread or potato. Sometimes feel like something a bit lighter and currently there isn’t anything that really fits that bill. Knowing these nice guys, they’d make you something off menu I’m sure!

Not on a major route even if this supposed to be the High St and limited parking in this area but nonetheless we came across The Green and popped in with the intention of having lunch. The 'bare wood' interior was very much on the functional side and first impression of the menu was that there was a lot of choice if you were looking for vegetarian food but a bit limited for carnivores. The bare wood theme continued with the presentation of the food - a short plank of wood substituting for a plate not particularly conducive to eating a well stacked bap containing a thick but squidgy vegetable burger among other ingredients. However, the food was freshly cooked and flavoursome. The tea was presented in a trendy way too - but not really my cup of tea (if you'll pardon the pun).Overall, I'm not sure the quirkiness was worth paying a bit extra for, but having said that, they were busy, so they must be doing something right.

This was where we headed for to fuel up before tackling the next 10 miles of the Peak District Boundary Walk, to Whaley Bridge. Just managed to squeeze in on a Saturday morning (it's dead popular with locals, visitors, walkers and more) & fortified ourselves with cappuccinos and a shared stack of pancakes with Greek yogurt and strawberries and lots of honey - just what you need when you've only had one breakfast so far and it's already 10.00am..... Neat, cosy little cafe, rustic floorboards and tables, in keeping with the village scene. Previously the Deli beside the green, High St, Bollington. It was recently reconfigured to fit more tables at the front with the kitchen prep area to the side at the back - it def works better. Newspapers and magazines abound to linger over Sunday brunch or just coffee. They don't mind if you stay awhile using your laptop. Wonderful. The cafe cooks wholesome, trendy breakfasts like avocado and poached eggs on sourdough, eggs benedict and that delightful, tasty micro cress etc. as well as burgers and interesting, thoughtfully composed lunches. Alcohol is available. I have to say the cakes are sadly a really poor affair, I guess because space is limited but they are a let down. That aside the place is always busy, deservedly so and testament to the savoury food on offer and the lovely, friendly staff. We go between 2-3pm to ensure getting a free table. It's tremendously popular with locals, visitors and walkers to the area - the popular Peak District is close by. Holds its own against a few good pub restaurants in the vicinity and the popular Lime Tree opposite (sister to the well known Didsbury restaurant). Def recommended. Would have given 5 stars but for the cakes being a let down.

We'd not ever been to Bollington before and did so this time as part of the Peak District Boundary Walk - needed a coffee in a nice spot before we started, after an hour's drive over from Sheffield, and this was a great place to have it. It's achingly trendy, with the tasteful wall decorations including tree trunk sections as decor and the eclectic selection of non-matching but compatible chairs in the cafe. The coffee's great, the lemon cake was delicious and moist as promised (loved the curled sections of lemon peel as garnish), the service friendly and fast, and the atmosphere lively and mixed. It's busy too - admittedly on a lovely Sunday morning, but there was never an empty table for more than about 30 seconds, all the time we were there. Do check out the (spotlessly-clean) toilet if you visit, too, with tongue-in-cheek humour much in evidence as you look around it.

We visited at the end of the first week of tthis newly refurbished cafe to try out the lunch menu and found the place very crowded with other people doing the same or just having coffee. The new interior is quite trendy with semi industrial metal rimmed tables but the seating is rather cramped- the place is still quite small despite the recent extension . The staff were welcoming and efficient and helped squeeze us in. Food is a good mix of typical breakfast/brunch dishes and one or two more unusual dishes such as lamb kofta and vegetarian curriy. We had poached eggs on sourdough bread with spinach or bacon additions. The one missing dish at lunchtime was a good soup!

Eaten there once or twice, menu very limited, really a cafe with one or two hot items. Very basic seating (trendy but uncomfortable), always came away feeling that that was expensive for what we had. Decided not to bother again as there were better places that were as expensive but serving better food and a nicer atmosphere

Stumbled upon this gem today. Sour dough and poach egg spinach breakfast divine. Best local cafe been to!

The Green is such a wonderful little place; very welcoming and clean, with local artwork and quirky wall hangings. Free Wifi and newspapers makes it a lovely spot to have a brew and watch the world go by.
