Henry's Cafe in Cheshire East

Walker friendly cafe in probably the best address in the North. A fab start for a pub crawl around Prestbury Village.

They don't do 'skinny' hot drinks and the coffee wasn't really quite hot enough.

Good food and atmosphere. A lot of customers, but service was quick.

Often call in here when walking through. Had many good experiences but recent visit has disappointed me. It really depends who is working on the day you go in. There are some very friendly and efficient female staff. However there is a particular male who seems to take great offence to you being there, as if you are ruining his day. Food is well priced and good quality, waiting times are never too long. Lots of space both front and rear, weather permitting. Shame how one persons attitude can tarnish a place with so much potential.

Lovely little cafe in picturesque Prestbury village, the staff are extremely friendly, nice full breakfast just the ticket on a Saturday morning and the Coffee and Cakes are lovely 😋👍

Fab food as always yet service spoiled slightly by staff member (new face), v sarcastic, appeared miserable and bordering on rude. Was so out of place from the usual fab welcome and would affect potential return visit.

Cosy cafe if you can avoid the draught from the front door. Service with a smile and quite prompt for a very busy location. Struck lucky with car parking which can be a challenge.

Finest cooked breakfast I’ve had in ages. Thanks Nat! X I met up with ex- neighbours I haven’t seen in years and had an excellent reunion.

8 of us popped in for impromptu brunch with 4 dogs . Age range 5 years to 61 years. We all chose different drinks and food, from a tea cake to an eggs Benedict , sausage barm, bagel, cake…… myriad of drinks . Our order was taken promptly, drinks delivered soon after & all food arrived at the same time on lovely warm plates ( if needed) well presented with all requested sauces in place. What a well run cafe, it was lovely to see such young eager, helpful staff. Chef looked a bit formidable 😜 ( goes with the territory, he’s a great cook 👍 ) highly recommend 👍

First time at Henry's on a recommendation from a friend. The coffee was excellent and hot, and the gluten free carrot cake was the best I'd ever had. Compliments to the baker. The staff were friendly and service was quick.

A hidden gem? A favourite stop for brunch? Afternoon tea venue. Always a joy.

Just had a lovely outdoor event with family and friends with catering provided by Henry's café which was absolutely fabulous. The food was beautifully presented, varied and delicious with dietary requirements taken care of. Can't recommend it highly enough.

My poached eggs weren't runny but the sauce was good.

Lovely little cafe. We visited with our dog and were pleased to find the cafe is very dog friendly, but chose to sit in the marquee outside, as it was warm despite rain. The menu is good and varied, and freshly prepared. I was pleased to find the bacon for my bacon and avocado bagel was perfectly crispy. Excellent flat white and hot chocolate. We look forward to visiting next time we're in the area.

After looking on Google to find out what time Henry’s cafe closed , 5.30pm. Met my friend who had cycled 10 miles to meet me for a coffee. We arrived at 3.50pm to be told they were closing in 10mins. Told we couldn’t sit inside and had to have our coffee in a takeaway cup and sit outside. At 4 pm the several people came out of the cafe and told us they were being thrown out. My friend and I sat outside for 30min drinking our coffee and 8 people walked past who all wanted to go in the cafe for coffee & cake. A member of staff apologised to us and said it wasn’t her cafe she just worked there and could we please stack our chairs and table as we left . We left not very impressed.

Really lovely cafe. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Very quick service. Dogs are well looked after with bowls for water and treats supplied! Always a lovely atmosphere inside or out. Food and cakes are delicious.

Decent cafe, there don't seem many in Prestbury as the emphasis seems to be more on pubs and wine bars with limited opening hours, so this is a relative gem. We liked the friendly and attentive service from some of the staff, the tea was decent (appears to be Yorkshire tea teabags). Veggie breakfast had avocado missing with no explanation, but was nice. Overall a good experience, would go again if in the area. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Cakes looked interesting but not tried. Beware, salads have *a lot* of onion so if you are an onion hater, mention it.

Really grumpy bordering on rude staff, apart from the young lady that took our order at the till. Bacon barm made me feel ill. Been coming here years as a stop off while biking. Not been this year so was shocked at the attitude. Such a shame. Calling out someone for leaning their bike against the plant display but addressing the wrong cyclist … ME!.. is not cool. You need to get a bike stand outside this cafe. So many cyclists use you. Use your common sense.

Very classy joint! Delicious food served in beautiful ambience. Excellent choice of dish. My wife had bagel, avocado and salmon, which was most tasty.

This cafe has previously been great but...CYCLISTS BEWARE....we are a pair of mature (senior!) adults but we were mildly told off for not entering via the REAR yard gate as opposed to the middle gate. Who knew that gate was there, and that there was a "rule" to so restrict us?! The tone was not pleasant and unfortunately will make us rethink future visits and level of staff tips. When asked, the lady claimed that cyclists are welcome but we wonder if 'tolerated' is more accurate.

Great food and a brilliant outdoor area for a warm sunny day

Walked in for breakfast on Saturday morning, waiting to order straight away at the counter. Four members of staff all completely ignored us. The place was empty because it had just opened. Just a ‘we’ll be with you in a minute’ or ‘take a seat and we’ll be with you shortly’ would have been fine. We stood for about 3 minutes being completely ignored whilst they chatted/worked. In the end we just walked out and went over the road. Live locally, and have been in regularly but plenty of other options in future. Shame because the food is usually quite good.

Good place for a coffee and cake especially after a good walk. Also good for breakfast and the Bloody Mary is delicious

Great place to have a Sunday breakfast and be able to take your dog. It’s always busy which is a good sign. Staff are so welcoming and the food is great. Dogs even get free biscuits! I enjoy grabbing a takeaway tea on my dog walk too. Would highly recommend this lovely cafe.

We are regular guests at Henry’s and the team are always welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent quality and the portions are generous. We normally go in for breakfast at a weekend - but this time we did the Valentine’s pop-up. Fantastic 3 course meal; superbly cooked and beautifully presented. The team who looked after us are a credit to you. 💖

Met up with my friend for a coffee and a catch-up, had such a lovely time, cakes were delicious and a great range of drinks for my friend who doesn't drink coffee. Staff were brilliant, we were served by Hannah, service with a smile came naturally!

We love Henrys! Chilled place in the heart of the beautiful Prestbury village. Wonderful homemade cakes, lunches and of course great coffee made by India .. what more could you want !?

Henry's top barista without doubt is Connor! Perfect coffee every time. If you are not sure put him to the test .....

Great place to come especially after dog walks. The food is excellent, coffee is perfect and the staff are so friendly always giving excellent service especially India who never fails to serve with a big smile and always gives the dogos lots of cuddles too ☺️

Love visiting Henry’s with my friends and family, great food, friendly atmosphere and the best staff around, nothing is too much trouble. To name a few Holly Wells, Natalie Cox & Eileen Swindlehurst are just the best ❤️ Would definitely recommend Henry’s for anyone that wants good food without the fuss and a bit of a laugh along the way, oh and you can bring your pooch 👌🫶

Been here a few times. Huge selection of cakes and hot drinks. Usually served by Holly who always has a smile on her face and remembers us when we go in! Would recommended to anyone.

I visited the cafe over Christmas and had a full Prestbury, the best breakfast I have ever had! They had a great selection of cakes and pastries, staff were lovely and attentive. Will be returning soon!

Just spotted this place on Facebook use to visit for breakfast with my partner on a Sunday but haven't been back since my last visit about a year ago, didn't like the way we were spoken too by the manager who was running the cafe on that day she was a little rude so we paid up and never went back

Painfully slow service to the point where it almost felt deliberate.

This used to be good, today went along and ordered eggs avocado and salmon on sourdour. Poached eggs hard and sour dough was not proper soughdour it was a quick cook sourdough sliced and no taste. My wife's meal cam with cold scrambled eggs. Let them know and they replaced cold eggs but offered no discount. This used to be good but unlikely to visit again as poor customer service and quality of food has dropped dramatically.

Slow service & wasn't made to feel welcome like a valued customer. Average coffee (ordered a flat white and got a disappointing milky coffee) We were asked to move tables so a group of mothers and babies could sit at our table. I had already got up ready to leave so they could sit together....

Called for a coffee but the selection of gluten free was one of the best and the gf cheese scone was the best we have had. The lemon and ginger tea was loose leaf, not a bag. Really enjoyable experience.

An old post office converted to a cafe. Food and drink very good though a little expensive with great friendly service. Hot and cold food available, including sandwiches and all day breakfast. Seating inside and out, also at the back in large patio area, partially covered. Dog friendly inside and out. Parking limited, parking next to cafe but seems to be for adjacent restaurant. Only one shared customer toilet. Nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Slightly expensive even for Prestbury. If you order a sausage roll be aware it's small and comes with a load of vegetation. Pleasant location and terrace (dog friendly)

We had a private function here for 20-odd people. The food was superb and the service was great. Really lovely, and I can't think of a better place to have had it.

Always a great stop on bike rides through Prestbury

We first stumbled across Henry's pre covid. The bfast was so delicious but expensive so we agreed to keep it for special occasions. Today's visit has left me feeling sick. The bfast has below average. Halloumi over cooked, slightly raw poached eggs and very weak coffee. We begrudgingly paid £27 and vowed we will never return. Shame really.. we loved going to Prestbury. They must have had a change of ownership. The ingredients used were average. Prices have gone up but quality has gone down. Sorry Henry's.. can't spend that kinda money of food that makes me ill.

We visited this cafe for lunch today, our party consisted of 2 adults, 2 children and a baby. The cafe was busy so we accepted the 15 minute wait to be served. The waitress took our order and the drinks came within about 5 minutes....

First visit to Prestbury and we visited Henry's, we bought some Bakewell flapjack which was absolutely gorgeous. One piece was enough for two of us. The lady who served us was very nice Visited the toilets as well which were nice.

Not quite sure why this place is so highly regarded. Nothing special. Weak coffee, half cooked sausages with a price tag even Harvey Nick would gasp at. Quaint yes. Pretentious yes. Good? Not really. Best way to describe it would be…. Hmm Motorway cafe who thinks it’s Harrods.

After 2 1/2 mile walk we decided to stop for a coffee & food. Waited outside in the under cover seating area for 15mins . No sign of staff. Went inside ti order & was told they would come out to me. After another 10mins a member of staff came out looked at me but only took an order from another table that had just arrived. After another 10mins & no staff we walked away. Sadly I gave this establishment a high rating before but may never frequent their premises again

I find it very hard to believe that you won the Best Cafe Award! Everytime i visit you get the simplest of things wrong. This morning for example you ruined my hot chocolate by scorching the milk. Its not a simple mistake, its a simple thing that you made a mistake of! And things are only going to get worst with your recent personnel changes. You are about to go through a period of alienating both customers and your own staff. Good luck with that one!

I feel like we may have arrived near closing time, just after 3pm, and I felt like we were being rushed out, cleaning and sweeping around our table etc - we didn't check opening times but if they were closing they should have just told us and we would have gone somewhere else. That being said, the cake was really nice and I'd certainly go back again, just I'll check times to avoid any passive aggressive cleaning 😓

Got to the place at 11:14 got told to go to the back and they would be over waited 20 minutes to get a menu so ended up having to go in and get some, ordered our stuff then waited 10 minutes for a milkshake....

Lovely food and staff,They messed the order up so it took an age to bring out.It wasn't a problem for us,they were very apologetic and brought us an extra coffee..was very kind of them.We will certainly be going back soon.

I have eaten the Prestbury breakfast here on three Saturday's during March. The service and food quality is of a high standard. The choice of freshly baked cakes is superb, must try the courgette and cream cheese cake.
