The Tea Room in Cheshire East

What a welcoming and quirky cafe! We've been for breakfast twice now and can highly recommend it: good quality ingredients cooked to perfection, served by attentive and friendly staff. It was impossible to leave without taking some of those amazing cakes home with us. They tasted just as good as they looked. Cake heaven!!

Three adults visited today, very buisy place we was greeted and shown to a table, the lady who greeted us was lovely the place had a lovely atmosphere, people had their dogs with them, we ordered and had a problem with one of the cups, no hesitation they made a fresh drink and appeared happy to do so. The food came hot can't fault the place it is a gem, food and staff are 100 percent perfect.

Went today. I will definitely be back.

A very nice spot for lunch just across from the park. Dog friendly, always a bonus. Lovely food, and very friendly staff. The food was gorgeous and arrived quickly. the cakes looked awesome, but we couldn't fit one in after our sandwich's.

I was visiting Knutsford with family and stopped at this place for a drink/snack. The weather was really nice and we were lucky to get a table outside which was great. We ordered an omelette, fish finger butty and a toastie and they were all good. Nothing spectacular but just nice, basic food. Service was good and friendly. Popular place. Would recommend.

Tuesday, me and my husband popped in the tea room for lunch because it looked good and we had the special menu of the broad, chicken burger and chips and Welsh rabbit, it came late and the chicken was dry over cooked and I had to get up couple of times for milk , and mayonnaise to put on my chicken burger, which I asked for when the waitress was writing it down, The Welsh rabbit looked like expensive cheese on toast, we were over charged.

Ate here today I specifically asked was it proper fish and chips? He replied yes it was. It was a pack of four for a pound at Iceland at Best! I asked for a cappuccino it came in possibly the smallest cup you could imagine vastly overpriced. Nice and friendly stuff though.

A beautiful little gem of a cafe. Harriet’s cakes are amazing and such variety. The service was exceptional and welcoming especially by Patrick. Accommodated room for a high chair even though the cafe was busy. A must go!

This place is an absolute gem, best breakfast ever, freshly cooked and delicious, run by the very lovely Harriet and her staff, all so pleasant and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, wouldn’t go anywhere else for brekkie when in knutsford, and very doggie and family friendly ❤️

I booked The Tea Room for a celebratory afternoon tea for a friend's 80th birthday.It is lovely venue off a very pretty high street.The afternoon tea was freshly made with delicious ingredients and a fantastic range of sandwiches and cakes.The portions were generous and tasty and leftovers were boxed up to take home.My friend inadvertently left her phone behind and I was contacted by Harriet to let us know.A wonderful place for a memorable day

Wonderful cakes, and what a selection! I'm sorry I don't live near Knutsford, as I'd love to try them all. The two we did have (Lemon Lime Drizzle and Carrot Cake) were gorgeous, and generous slices too. Really good value for money. I had a question about the tea, and the waitress was lovely, even fetching me the packet so I could check the ingredients. Top class service all round.

Today was the second time my Son and I together with our little dog have visited. As tea rooms go this place is outstanding, very friendly, lovely old China and super helpful eager to help staff. My Son ordered the full Knutsford I think it was called, basically a full English, everything was beautifully cooked, the sausages and bacon clearly butchers standard and cooked fresh. This came accompanied with artisan type toast which he said was delicious. Lovely Darjeeling loose leaf tea and the coffee is excellent, just the right strength. On my last visit I had the home made scone and had to go home and tell my Mother she's no longer the scone making champion, it was delicious, baked to perfection. If you have a dog, they have their own menu,mine absolutely loves the peanut butter, banana, greek yoghurt ice lolly treats, she had two last time and two today, she's very picky but scoffs them down. It was very busy both times, understandably so. Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend.

We had breakfast here on a lovely Saturday morning. We both had a sandwich, a sausage on brown and a breakfast barm, sausage, bacon and egg. Both were lovely washed down with a tea and a coffee. The service was efficient and friendly and the cakes looked to die for! Average prices for the area, coming in at under £25. A lovely spot to sit in too when the sun is in the terrace.

We went on Saturday for lunch, the soup was nice as was the jacket potato & chilli , although the salad on the plate with jacket was a joke, half a cherry tomato and few leaves with a tiny quarter of cucumber! The eggs benedict and ham & cheese sandwichwere also nice. The full Knutsford breakfast wasn't so good the eggs were hard, the mushrooms were very overcooked. The club sandwich was OK, but whoever is making this sandwich needs to stack it better as its quite difficult to eat due the stacking of the tomatoes. The pot of tea was sent back as even though we left it for 10 mins to brew it was still very weak, this was rectified quickly. The only other thing I have to say is the plate I was served my sandwich was off putting for me, I know it wasn't dirty but it was beige stoneware one and it was very marked. We had 2 scones, these were OK , but we're served cold, I prefer them served warm.

Wonderful little tea room, with excellent choice of food, cakes and pastries. This is what separates Knutsford from other areas....simple class and style, with tasty quality food....and excellent staff

The lunch course, though portions on small side, was tasty. Cake was reasonable. Service was a little slow on a busy Saturday and difficult to get staff attention when ordering the cake, though staff were friendly. May visit again if passing

Wot a wonderful place to visit!😊 My friend and I popped in for a coffee to keep us warm, we decided to stay for lunch, then another warm drink and cakes 🍰😋 The food was lovely,the staff were so nice, friendly, caring, and with a sense of humour too,nothing too much trouble.. It's a lovely little tea room.. We will certainly be returning.. My friend and I go to Knutsford as it's a halfway point for us to meet for a catch up, and we certainly did, without feeling like we had to rush to make way for another customer.. Thank you so much for looking after us, and providing us with a warm friendly atmosphere...

WOW! Found this place through some googling. What a wonderful place to go. Staff were all very polite ans accommodating. We had afternoon tea and could not believe the size of cake we got - huge. All food is freshly prepared and cakes are home made. Will definitely call in again when we are next in the area

This was a christmas present from our daughter, afternoon tea for two!! Excellent service from arriving to leaving, the food was gorgeous, plentiful and Excellent quality, fiona our waitress was lovely,friendly and was there if we needed her. We brought one of our cakes home as the portions are big but some of the best cakes we've tasted. Will definitely recommend here and will be back. Thanks Fiona,Patrick and all at the tea room for making it a memorable afternoon xxxx

Baffled by the staff in the tea room today. I met a friend for coffee this morning and between us we ordered 3 coffees. We were there for about an hour when the waitress came over and asked if we would like to order anything else. I said that I was okay at the moment but asked if I could have some tap water. She said that it was cheeky to not be ordering anything given how long we had been there (I was currently drinking my coffee at the time, so she could see what had ordered) and that it was rude to not be ordering food since it was coming up to lunch time. For the record, we were going to get lunch there but it was 11:30 so I wasn't going to order just yet. And, I was still drinking my coffee so I wasn't going to order another until I had finished. She then walked away and did not come back. Initially I thought she was joking, but she made it clear that she was not. Bizarre experience given that we had already ordered three drinks and were in the process of drinking them whilst being berated for not ordering more. Shan't be going back and will be advising others to avoid.

My mum and a friend had afternoon tea here. Harriet and the team were most welcoming and helpful. My mum thoroughly enjoyed her visit, from the cakes to the customer service. A big thank you to everyone at The Tea Room. Hopefully, we'll visit again soon.

Always such a pleasure to enjoy a bite to eat and a hot drink at the Tea Room. Service is great, friendly and welcoming. Food is always of great quality, a real treat.

We visited here on my daughters birthday, we were given the menus then had to wait around 10 minutes for a waitress to take our order even though it wasn't busy and the staff were stood talking to each other behind the counter. I could not but notice that all the windows at the back of the shop looked filthy and dirty, I asked the waitress why this was, she said that they were not dirty but they needed to be replaced by the Landlord. Not a problem but then when she brought over the order she never said a word and was funny with us. I had a scone with butter and tea, but sadly the scone was listed as being a fruit scone and freshly baked, it wasn't freshly baked and there where just a few sultanas dotted around the outside and when cut in half nothing no fruit just plain. The waitress said that nobody else had complained about them, I reminded her that I wasn't interested in anybody else apart from what I had been served, The owner then came over and said she would knock the scone off the bill, I mentioned the conversation regarding the windows that I had with the waitress because I felt there was tension in the air, she said why would the windows bother you, I will leave the rest, the owner seems a really nice girl but surely when a customer give a little constructive criticism as the owner of a business especially an eatery you should take it on board and not dismiss it surely you want customers to have a lovely experience without hostility and bad atmosphere from staff.

Delightful and delicious afternoon tea. Dawid's service was exemplary and the food was just as good. Really made my daughter's day fun with the wooden toys.

Popped in twice this week for cakes to take away. There was plenty of choice for gluten free and staff took time and care to talk through options. Cakes were very tasty and a real treat.

Went for lunch. The menu was really good and varied. The quality of the food was lovely and the staff were really friendly. The cakes on the counter all looked amazing. Most were dairy free, but the labels don't say that. Luckily, I asked, but it was easy to think there were no dairy free or vegan choices. It would be good to have them labelled better. We came back after a walk and got a slice of cake and ate it in the park which was lovely

Deserves to be higher up in the ratings, 4.5 circles but some places just have more reviews, so here goes. Been a number of times since my last review, for food and today for a big pot of Earl Grey. Sat outside, lovely spot, excellent service and a great selection of cake.

This is a proper hidden gem being tucked away off the main street. It has a good selection of savoury snacks plus an excellent selection of cakes, including gluten free. The best bit, though, is that it’s dog friendly with a good selection of treats for them.

A busy little tearoom but our experience was very poor. We ordered 2 soup and a fish finger sandwich, oat milk latte. I was given a normal milk latte 😱 I can’t have milk..!! I did question this and was told it was oat milk but the gentleman making the drinks apologised and made a fresh oat milk latte which tasted correct.. an issue rectified. The soup country vegetable was seriously lacking in any flavour, the consistency was like baby food…! We were hungry so ate it. We’d also ordered a fish finger sandwich £9.50 which was a huge disappointment… 4 Birds Eye or similar fish fingers in a bun with small side salad… not worth the money..!! Over extremely disappointing and certainly won’t return. Staff were over run, there was lack of leadership and teamwork and very slow 15 mins to wait for drinks is a joke..!!;

I love coming here with my hoomans. There’s a fabby puppy menu, this time I had a yummy pupcake, which didn’t last long as I quickly scoffed it just in case someone wanted to share it. There’s always other pups I can chat to.

As always, we had a lovely experience at our favourite tea room. Harriet and her mum are always so warm, welcoming and are genuinely fabulous people! It’s a great feeling to support a small, family-run business which gives so much back to the local community.

Service was ok but my god you need to raid your savings for a cheese toastie £8.50 for a cheese toastie is a rip off.

We came here for afternoon tea for four. The price was £99 which is very expensive considering the quality of both the food and the service. The sandwiches were ok, the cakes were quite tasty. The tea was unacceptable, far too weak. I could not drink it. As we had coffee aswell, and we had chosen salmon as one of the sandwich fillings, we were charged a lot extra. We didn't realise this would be the case having paid nearly 100 pounds already. It really wasn't what we expected at all and we were all quite disapointed. The cost of this afternoon tea is extortionate. In total it was nearly £120. I would definitely not recommend the afternoon tea.

Booked for afternoon tea. We arrived ten minutes early and were left waiting at the door until I stopped a waitress to ask about my booking. She very politely said "I'll just double check for you." Then she continues to serve and seemingly forgot about us. So I flagged someone else down. "You are ten minutes early" I was told off "but as soon as someone leaves you can sit down" Not the best response, maybe reserving a table for someone that has already booked and paid in full would have been helpful. We were then shown to our wobbly table and the afternoon tea selections were described to us by the smiley waitress. We ordered drinks and were given cutlery. I was given a dirty knife and a dirty napkin which was changed when I pointed it out. We decided on sandwiches and tried to catch someone's eye but to no avail. I went to the till and was told "she's coming over now" rude but I shrugged it off. The waitress that served us was lovely. The sandwiches and cakes came out and the food was delicious and the salmon was very fresh. However, when we came to leave we were shouted back. "You haven't paid" came the panicked voice. I reassured I'd paid online in full. The problem was we had ordered drinks that were not tea or coffee and the fresh salmon was extra too. I'd like to point out at this point that I have been to afternoon tea that have been cheaper where they have served other drinks than tea and coffee but fair do's you don't. This was never made clear to us that it was not included in the £90 afternoon tea I had already paid for so an extra £18.50 later and we were ready to get out of there. All in all: service was poor, left waiting too long and there are nicer ways to speak to people. Food was lovely but not value for money. Communication very poor, had we been told about the extra expense I doubt we would have ordered less but at least we would have had the choice of spending the extra. I think two stars is more than fair.

Booked afternoon tea for a birthday treat for my daughter table Booked for 1 when we arrived a little early 12.55 we were met with a very busy cafe no table was reserved had to wait for the family to finish that was at the table. When we finally sat down the service was very slow. Very week tea that was a strange colour. Sandwiches were tasty though chesse and pickle had the pickle missing. Cakes OK nothing special. Paid £99 wasn't worth half that. Had to also pay extra £18.60 for the salmon Sandwiches and drinks that wasn't made clear when booking. Extremely disappointed. In a word it was disorganised!! Extremely noisy! To would not recommend

This is the second time we are back. Aside from great coffee, tea and food, the host has been very courteous, nice and accommodating.

Often pop in here for a bite to eat and never had an issue. Was sat down by a waitress who handed us some food menus. Myself and my partner had chosen what we wanted to eat. The waitress came over to take our food order and then explained they aren’t doing food because they had just cleaned the grill? It would have been handy for someone to mention this to us before we had sat down and spent time choosing what we wanted. Why give us a food menu when you aren’t serving food? The waitress was not sympathetic at all so we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Poor service all round!

Popped to Knutsford for a little Charity Shop Shopping Spree with my mate. We stumbled upon The Tea Room and loved the look of it. My friend had the Chunky Chips & I had the Cheese on Toast. They were both cooked to perfection. We both had a Chai Latte, to be honest it was the first time I had a Chai Latte. It was stunning, definitely will be my go to drink from now on. My friend told me it was the best one she had ever had. For dessert, we treated ourselves to a slice of homemade cake each. Which was so beautiful and... sorry to anyone who hates the word... moist, light and fluffy! Our server was a lovely lady named Ellie, it was her first day. We wouldn't have known if she hadn't told us, she did a wonderful job. They also do a drink that you pay for, but it will go to someone who needs it. Which was lovely to see. Highly recommend.
