What a great place! The breakfast was excellent, the decor beautifully done with a mixture of themes and all the staff were fabulously cheerful and helpful. What’s not to like? Great to see an independent doing so well in these days of multinational chains. They have lots of regulars coming in and not surprising! Highly recommended! Thank you to you all.

Not been here for a while as it's not local for me but nice to visit again. Friendly, cosy café, only 2 of us but we were able to take some comfy seats on a table for 6. They were quite busy and we offered it to a family some time later. Flat white and a salted caramel brownie pre 12,000 stepper, just the job.

Met a friend in Gather, for lunch this week. We enjoyed our lunch - flat bread and a toastie, both served with a dressed salad. We particularly noticed that the servers were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was vibrant, a bit noisy at times, but everyone was enjoying relaxing and chatting. There is only one unisex W.C. but it was clean and well-stocked with essentials. There is a courtyard at the back; useful when the weather is warm and sunny.

Came across this place whilst having a wander around Congleton. Very friendly greeting and service. Good selection on the menu from brunch type stuff to pancakes etc. We tried the goats cheese and crispy bacon salad and the Club sandwich, which consisted of halloumi (can have bacon), beef tomato, avocado, paprika fried eggs and crispy lettuce. Both of which were great.

Popped in here whilst passing through town on the way home from a weekend away. From the second we walked through the door, the servers were lovely. Service was prompt and very friendly. I had the French toast and a latte. The French toast was incredible. Made to perfections. My friend had scrambled eggs which were amongst the best I’ve tasted. All round a great little cafe for coffee or a nice brunch. Highly reccomend.

Came with friends after a weekend in nearby Rudyard. 7 ladies of a certain age. What a lovely little place. Nice décor and very pleasant staff. We were served by Erin. She was very efficient and friendly she brought our drinks quickly. Lovely coffees teas and great choice of soft drinks. We were all very pleased with out lunch choices. The food was fantastic and some really nice unusual items on the menu. Mushrooms on toast fantastic hot and tasty . Nice sandwiches and everything was SO tasty. Also managed to force in a brownie ! Wish your cafè was closer to me. Thank you very much for making a perfect end to a great weekend away with the girls.

My wife and I had a coffee and a bacon roll to share at Gather this morning. The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff friendly and the coffee was nice, the bacon roll was quite basic. Was surprised when the bill came to £11.90, £3.20 for a coffee is top end (Higher Ground, Crema, M&S, John Lewis are all below £3.00) and £5.50 for the bacon roll was too expensive. We like to support local businesses but there is a considerable amount of choice in Congleton so will not be frequenting Gather for the foreseeable future.....unfortunately. Would suggest you don’t overprice yourself

My favourite Congleton cafe. The staff are lovely, it’s a great quirky cafe with a buzzy atmosphere, and the food and drinks are great quality and not overpriced in my opinion. Give it a go if you haven’t already.

Still cold out and so nice to walk in to a really warm café. Staff so welcoming and a lovely ambience. Extra hot latte and a tasty bacon bap, delicious. Absolutely faultless, I would like to visit in the evening as it appears to be a wine bar too!

After several visits, this must be the best place for coffee and cake ( and other food!) in Congleton. The staff, service and coffee are all excellent.

Our visit to Gather was pure luck. We had actually intended to visit another relatively local restaurant/cafe which had been recommended, but having arrived they advised us that they weren't currently offering sit-in dining. They did however suggest we try Gather on Congleton High Street. What a stroke of luck. We sat outside (they have limited pavement seating as an alternative to their indoor seating) and enjoyed their fab avocado & halloumi salad - my other half had the soup. The place is clean, with really friendly staff, great food, good prices, and lovely cakes too. Highly recommended.

By the way, I ONLY review places I like a lot!So, let's talk about Gather. I reviewed it elsewhere about a year and a half ago, but I didn't give enough detail. So here goes. In short it's unique. The catering is excellent, varied, thoughtful: which you can discover from other reviews. But what makes Gather stand out - in my opinion, from any other cafe I know - is the atmosphere. The furnishings are tasteful, varied and relaxed. Gather is welcoming, without any effort. The staff are friendly, helpful, and relaxed. (See that word again?) There's music playing in the background, a soothing backdrop as you chat, read, or whatever you want to do.When I took a friend of mine in there, he whispered to me: 'Isn't this place wonderful?'It is. I haven't been in Congleton since the pandemic began, because of changing work practices etc, but I hope soon to be back. When you're there, nip into Gather and see if my friend (and me) are right.

My husband and I found the cafe by chance whilst on a day trip. The food was sensational with lots of options which catered for our gluten and lactose intolerances. There was a lovely atmospehere within the cafe and the staff were friendly, approachable and curteous. The social distancing within the cafe was great and it was all very clean. Thank you so much - we'll be back :)

We come here fairly regularly, usually to enjoy tea and cake, coffee and cake, iced tea and cake... you get the idea. We’ve also been for breakfast and brunch a few times too. Can never fault the food and drink, and the place is comfy and quirky with the addition of some more outside seating at the back which is great. The service is never the quickest, but I like that. For a place that plays reggae with brunch I wouldn’t want manic service! Plus the staff are all really friendly and welcoming. Oh, have the pancake stack.

Very friendly welcome, nice relaxed atmosphere and great quality including one of the nicest Bakewell slices I’ve had in a long time. Well worth a visit if you are passing

We rarely visit Congleton but were there yesterday for the food festival. Wanted a light lunch and came across Gather. Thought it looked interesting and welcoming so we went in. Had a lovely tasty meal in quirky surroundings. Loved the little shop behind the cafe. Thanks to the lady (possibly the owner?) who brought me a glass of water when I swallowed my food the “wrong “ way! The coffee was amazing and we regretted being too full to try the cakes which looked scrummy - maybe next time!

Very fond of this little café/restaurant. Haven't yet eaten here, but the cakes look delicious and so do the lunches, and certainly they have wonderful coffee. They also have a loyalty card. You get a lovely welcome from the owner, and the place is very popular. Heartily recommend.

This is a brilliant cafe. Giving employment opportunities to adults with a learning disability. Lovely tables and comfortable chairs. I had a lovely latte and bakewell brownie, my son enjoyed his tea and brownie. I purchased a lovely loaf of bread. No bread baked today but usually you can see the bread being made. Great service.
