Had a fabulous lunch with friends for my birthday. What an ABSOLUTE hidden gem this place is! (I recommend that you save space for cake after lunch too, trust me, you'll be glad that you did!) They love dogs, and even have doggie sausages! There's a large outdoor area too. Thanks to all the staff there, they were wonderful. ... And thanks for my birthday candles too (you're never too old). My wife Jayne and I visited The Sheep Shed with our best friend Angie on Monday 24th February. We didn’t know what to expect, so we walked in and WOW! What a beautiful place. Considering it was actually a sheep shed once (hence the pics on the wall), the interior is modern, white, and everything looks super clean, but still very welcoming. A large eating area, but they haven’t crammed tables in, they are nicely spaced so you don’t feel cramped. There is also a large outside decking area for sunny days. The two ladies were very pleasant. We all ordered tea, which came loose leaf (!) in individual pots with their own strainers. Lovely touch, and so tasty being loose leaf. We ordered lunch from their extensive menu (and I mean extensive – too many things to mention apart from the American-style pancakes!), which arrived approx. 15 minutes later (not the pancakes!), which is no wait at all. Me and Angie had the open ciabatta with medium rare steak strips and mustard sauce, fried onions and mushrooms, both absolutely divine. The steak was just how we like it, blushing and succulent. Jayne went for the Sheep Shed Club with hot chicken fillets and bacon served between sliced multi seeded cob. The only (very) slight criticism she had was that the bacon was just that bit too much overdone, but otherwise delicious. A shared bowl of red hot, crunchy but fluffy inside chips finished us off. Inside they also sell what looks like local artisan goods/gifts/preserves etc. Oh, and the toilets are probably one of the cleanest loos I’ve ever used! And The Sheep Shed is also dog-friendly, where they can serve them with their own Doggy Sausages! In a nutshell, a hidden gem just outside of Whitchurch, a lovely, welcoming atmosphere, a huge menu, lovely food, nice and relaxed. I couldn’t fault it and we will definitely be returning! 5*

First time visiting the Sheep shed. Cafe was nice and clean. Breakfast was ok, a little expensive compared to other local cafés and a decent proportion. They ask if you would like black pudding etc which was extra(£1-80) which didn't really reflect the price/ portion. Had to wait 15 mins for tea to arrive and then another 15 mins for the breakfast. Tea was cold by then. I take it was reasonably busy but could be better. Staff pleasant enough.

The Cafe is spacious and has a very welcoming feel. The staff are friendly and attentive and dogs are very welcome. The Breakfast menu caters for most tastes and the food was very well presented, tasty and hot. The toilets were very clean and there is plenty of parking available.

An OK place for breakfast / brunch. Nothing really to shout about. 😕 Quality of food doesn’t match up with the prices charged.

Went for a quick lunch as it was my birthday but we were busy lambing so it seemed appropriate to go to the sheep shed. Three hungry farmers were not disappointed. The service was polite and it was quick to be served. Should have taken our sheepdog as they did doggie food as well. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

We were at the sheep Shed for lunch today Saturday 28th October 2023. Firstly as a rural enterprise development I have to applaud the foresight and efforts made. Well done Sheep Shed Team. BUT: our dining experience as was a real let down. Before we decided to visit I checked the reviews and these were by and large positive. Looking forward to our lunch the first snag was when you walk into the cafe it is a bit confusing. We stood in line for the till for a good 5 mins before the gentleman in front asked us if we were paying? No we wanted a table…Ah, he told us to grab a menu and find a table - then order. A simple blackboard for non locals like us would be a great help. Next service: we ordered 2 teas and two lunches but we had to wait 20 mins for the drinks. Tea was fine. Then to the food another 15 mins at least ( we were loosing the will to live) My lady had the mac-cheese. This was a textureless mass with no visible pasta. It was taken back as inedible. A sausage sandwich was ordered as a replacement - after 10 mins we gave up and left ( got a refund on the mac-cheese). My meal was a slow cooked beef wrap. This was a bit strange: I got a wrap or flat bread with a bit of salad and coleslaw and a few chips ( frozen type) and two slices of beef brisket on top. This was to be honest a bit of a hotch potch: yes it was all tasty but it was a bit strange and the flat bread was brittle. Sorry Sheep Shed: We can see you have put a lot of effort into your eatery and in some ways its charming and a brilliant effort. Maybe today the kitchen was in the weeds? Food not good… lots of good stuff there but for first timers its confusing. We wish you every success - rural enterprise success is vital Thank you all MR

I went to The Sheepshed for lunch with a couple of friends earlier this month. I ordered the Farmers Breakfast Barm and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and the manager Imogen was especially attentive to our requests. I would highly recommend The Sheepshed to anyone and will hopefully be going back myself soon.

Me, my partner and our 2 kids visited the Sheep Shed for breakfast. All was ok until our breakfast arrived and they served me raw sausage. 1 side cooked, other side completely raw. I am thankful I received the uncooked sausage instead of my children as my little girl likes to cut her own food up and I might not of noticed. I told a member of staff and it was a “oh sorry about that”. We spent £45! And didn’t even receive any money back as you have to pay when ordering. Completely shocked how they weren’t bothered by this. Really sad to say we won’t be back.

Third visit today but this time with elderly parents. Great disabled access and lots of room between tables, thank you. Although it was busy, service was very quick and food lovely. Our little doggie visitor enjoyed his puppacino. All the staff very friendly and welcoming and made my first purchase from the farm shop too!

A great addition to the pet shop, you can see that the owners have put a lot of time and effort into the Sheep Shed. I had the full english breakfast and it tasted delicious. Lots of choice on the menu and it is stocked with produce from local companies. Would highly recommend a visit, especially to support local businesses. Will definitely be a regular visitor!

Visited this place for breakfast. It was the worst I've ever had!! Ordered a full english breakfast and new to the menu and the most expensive dish, stacked pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Sounds nice right? They were clearly old, the woman working there thought they didn't have any and then found some after a good few minutes rummaging through the fridge/freezer that was located on the main cafe floor. I was shocked for what I was served. 3 dry warmed pancakes. One of them was burnt so placed at the bottom of the stack thinking I wouldn't notice. 3 thick rashes of backed bacon not the expected streaky for this kind of dish. Then rather than serving maple syrup as advertised i was given treacle!! It was awful. The full English breakfast appeared to look nice but the sausage was the worst my husband said he'd ever tasted. He said they were really cheap and he couldn't eat them. The bacon was also really fatty and just okay. The coffee was really nice. I would not recommend nor would I return

A lovely, quirky cafe with the best coffee in Macclesfield! I had to realistically knock one star off for food, as the menu is pretty small - but that's fine by me, as I always have the Vegan BLT which is delicious! It's got a great bohemian atmosphere with one of the only mixtracks of (quiet) background music that I actually like to listen to! Very comfortable with some terrific artwork on the walls! The cafe staff are always polite and friendly!
