Since 1995, when I spent several weeks in Corbridge researching my Undergrad dissertation at the fort and calling in daily for lunch, it has been a treat to buy lovely food at The Corbridge Larder. It has been an even bigger treat since we left the North East in 2017. So I was very much looking forward to a return visit after many years. We went in to order stotties for lunch. I opted for my favourite of cheese savoury, with husband selecting egg mayonnaise: both on the board at £4.95. No cheese savoury available which, in the end, was fortunate. When I went to pay, I queried the price and was told the sandwich had just gone up - to £5.95. This was not mentioned when I ordered it (so new was it that the server may not have been aware) and the board still read £4.95. Despite a vague apology, and my reference to the board (" oh we haven't changed it yet"), I was charged £5.95. Now, £4.95 for a small stottie (bread roll) is quite expensive, but we were up for a treat and it is The Corbridge Larder after all. However to suddenly announce to a customer, after they have placed their order in good faith, at a clearly advertised price, that their purchase has increased in the brief intervening period by 20%, is a bit off! I expressed my disappointment, but the staff member was not to be moved. I should have left the sandwich, but was so surprised I didn't think to do so. Not the best customer service move and a rather sad end to our longstanding, and previously excellent patronage of this establishment. Our visit treats and gifts will now be purchased elsewhere and we shall not return

Great place for food not found it very expensive and not enough food on the plate for a mouse the chicken curry dish I had only had six pieces of chicken in it. On top of that got charged £10 for one glass of wine - will not be back on the plus side the staff were really nice

Didn’t know what to expect when we popped in after not fancying anything in nearby Morpeth. So glad we did - doorstep toasties were blooming lovely! Really filling so we took advantage of the takeaway cake on offer. Also lovely. Small carpark but managed to find somewhere to park in a nearby street. Will definitely be back.

This was my 2nd visit & it was really great again! We had a delicious Greek omelette and excellent coffee for breakfast at 9am on a Monday. There’s a lovely ambience thanks to the very thoughtful and welcoming owner host, comfortable seats, really good background music and a nice mix of fellow diners. My first visit was for coffee & amazing hot chocolate. The cakes look really good, especially the cheesecake I spotted. We sat outside at the front on that visit, enjoying the sun & people watching on the high street. The menu definitely has something for everyone, from breakfast right through to dinner & cocktails. We’ll definitely be regular customers. We are really pleased it’s part of Prudhoe ❤️

Flying visit for a quick drink, having walked past several times previously. Sunny weekend, so packed outside with every available bench taken (this was only at about 12:00 too) ... but not a soul inside which was a relief. Nice drinks, cosy atmosphere, would recommend.

We decided to spend a couple of days over the weekend visiting Northumberland (not too far from us in N Yorkshire). We went to Lindisfarne as my partner had never been. We went to look at Bamburgh Castle (couldn’t go in with the dog unfortunately) then we had a look around Seahouses. Then off to our hotel for the night. We took the dog for a walk around the village which was pretty. Even got to look after someone’s Spaniel as he popped into the shop. Everyone is really friendly up there. As the menu looked good we decided to have dinner there. The food was excellent (partner had Balmoral chicken which was nice, I don’t eat much but had some really tasty sausages, Cumberland I think. All of the staff were absolutely lovely, polite and helpful. We were asked to pre order our breakfast so a full English was ordered. Even the dog got a sausage. The breakfast was awesome, included black pudding and haggis, fab. Perfectly cooked and tasty. Outside areas to take the dog out, thankfully he was a very good boy. The room was cosy, nice warm radiator in the bathroom which we appreciated. Bed was very comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. Enjoyed it very much, would go back. The staff really made it, they were very friendly and warm. Set us up nicely for a day at Belsay Castle looking around the stunning gardens, then home. Thoroughly enjoyed all of it, good value for money.
