Cycled to Hadrian's Wall...stopped in Corbridge and Grants looked kind of ordinary so didn't expect pastel-mundo. Pero no es barato....y no visites mucho o engordaras

Been here a couple of times and had delicious 5* sandwiches to take away. Absolutely delicious and can't fault them. Sadly, there's a 'but' coming. Today I decided to try something sweet - went for the lemon and blueberry scone, which was very stodgy and honestly unpleasant. Too much butter or underbaked perhaps? Not sure, but inedible (and at £2.70 I would have finished it if I could!) Sorry to leave a semi-bad review, because the sandwiches and other bakes are to die for!

Super super place - as ever my wife finds these gems. We were in need of a brew and a nibble before the 2 hour drive home. Also lovely bread.

We waited on a line for a few minutes to order. Service was good. Everything on display looks great but the cake experience was average. Raspberry layered cake very dense and sweet Carrot cake was ok Coffee wasn’t good.

Stunning bakery doing it the right way. Top class products. Coffee is very drinkable. Service was great and very friendly. A cut above your normal bakery and I have 40 years in the trade so it takes a lot to impress me.

Every visit is a treat, but our recent experience was nothing short of amazing. We tried the strawberry Danish, and it was perfection. The pastry was buttery and flaky, with just the right crispness, while the strawberry filling was fresh and vibrant, not overly sweet — just real fruit flavor shining through. It’s the kind of pastry you think about long after it’s gone. And then came the pistachio cake. Moist, flavorful, and topped with the lightest, dreamiest frosting — it struck that perfect balance of nutty richness and delicate sweetness. Honestly, it might be one of the best cakes we’ve ever had. If you haven’t been to Grant’s Bakery yet, do yourself a favor and go. Just be warned: one visit won’t be enough. I wish they shipped internationally 🥲

The best bakers in the North East by far. When near Corbridge we always call in. Not the cheapest but such amazing food. Everything is presented to perfection. The food tastes as good as it looks. The staff are so nice as well. Highly recommend.

A pastry shop recognized locally for its desserts and cakes, they have a vast selection and regularly offer new products. The chocolate desserts are my favorites with an excellent chocolate buttercream (it's quite rare here to note that!).

We visited Grant's Bakery on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm, it was quite busy however, it's because the food was amazing so it makes it a very popular place. 😀 Food can be a bit pricey but I'd say it was worth it! We ordered a sausage roll, Peach Melba and a White chocolate and pistachio mousse, along with a pot of tea and two soft drinks. The bill came to £25. There is seating outside and 4 tables inside. Service was very quick and they brought it over to where you were sitting. They have a large selection of desserts to choose from and some savoury items too. They sell bread and bread buns. 🍞 Recommend a visit here.

Located in the centre of Corbridge, Grant’s Bakery is a charming café offering a fantastic selection of baked goods and patisserie items. Everything looks incredible and tastes just as good, making it a go-to spot for anyone with a sweet tooth or a love for quality bakes. Parking in Corbridge is easy, with plenty of spaces around and a large free car park just over the bridge. While each item costs around £5-6, the quality and taste make it well worth the price. There’s a small seating area inside for those who want to dine in, but everything is also available to take away. A great little spot for a treat, whether you're passing through or making a special trip!

Excellent bakery. Amazing cakes and pastries. Such a wide choice too. I've never seen such huge croissant and pain au chocolat. Friendly efficient service. Even when there was a queue we didn't wait at all as staff so efficient. Just a pity there isn't more indoor seating.

The patisserie is simply divine, best I’ve seen in the area, or perhaps even in the country. Easily on par with good places where there is more of a culture for this kind of thing than here in the UK. Sweet or savoury, doesn’t matter, just perfect. The bread good but not quite as outrageously good as the rest.

Nothing but praise for Grant’s. The bread is delicious, the patisserie and pastries divine. Coffee good too and a lovely choice of lunch time food. So lovely to see they’ve extended the shop since our last visit in 2023 and it’s still packed with happy customers. My daughter’s favourite bakery on the planet!

What a gem this bakery is . The food is of the highest quality and the staff are simply lovely. We called in for a coffee and had a slice of their corned beef pie , which was to die for ! After our afternoon in Corbridge , we called back and purchased a couple of cakes to enjoy at home . What a pleasure it was to visit this lovely bakery.

Grants bakery in Corbridge , Northumberland has a lovely new café. My husband and I popped in while visiting Corbridge. The food was delicious. Fresh and tasty. Best place to buy cakes too.

My eyes are definitely bigger than my belly, this bakery is absolutely amazing, it’s blows any other bakery I have ever visited out of the water, the food here is simply incredible. My personal favourite is key lime pie and ham and egg pie, which is a full meal in itself, the quality here is nothing short of exemplary HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

As always, an excellent selection of amazing cakes and breads. The que shows how popular this local bakery is. Price's have gone up considerably so only came out with 2 cakes, not the usual 3. As delicious as they are, I couldn't enjoy one knowing the price. Maybe I will treat myself for my birthday.

Really enjoyed our visit today! The food was really good, cakes were phenomenal. We paid £57.59 for: - Brie, honey, walnut, pistachio and cranberry toasted sandwich - Cheese Savoury sandwich - Sausage Roll - Northumberland Pasty - Key lime pie slice - American chocolate brownie - White chocolate & raspberry layer cake - White chocolate & Raspberry flapjack - Mars Krispy cake - 4 x hot drinks Which to be honest, I think is good for the size and quality! It was also split between 4, so not really any more expensive than Starbucks for a sandwich/cake and a drink! Only minor issue I had was being taken to the till before actually seeing the cakes, because customers were standing in front waiting for their cakes. It was my first visit so I didn’t know what I actually wanted. Other than that 10/10 🤩 Can’t wait to come back again to try more !

If I could give Grant’s more than 5 stars I would. We don’t live too far away so have visited Grant’s quite a lot, slowly working our way through all the food on offer. Lovely savoury items, the Northumbrian pasty is a favourite of mine and also their quiche. The cakes are another level and look as amazing as they taste. I love their melbas, lemon meringue tart, chocolate slice, raspberry and white chocolate flapjack and also their strawberry tarts. I’ve bought gift vouchers from them to give as gifts and I still have one of their lovely decorated Easter eggs, it’s too nice to eat. The staff are friendly too :)

Finest quality products good enough to rival the CentraI Cafe in Vienna - YES that good. I searched high and low for some Frangipanes as my wife hadn't had 1 for years and was really keen to find some. Ordering was easy and communication from Andrew was excellent. Products very well packaged for courier delivery and arrived in tip top condition. I have a very happy wife. Thank you to Andrew and team.

The food looks as amazing as ever but the service was so slow I had to leave the queue after 10 minutes and only moving up 2 spaces... I feel so sorry for the staff as they are juggling takeaway food orders as well as making the food for cafe orders - it would be much better having set staff for set jobs. I'm gutted I missed out on grabbing the delicious cakes to take home, but no takeaway cake is worth 30 minute + wait in a queue.

Nov'24 now extended to a cafe. Service even slower - over half an hour to buy bread due to having to queue with cafe customers. Staff very slow. No fresh bread on Sunday!Prices have increased again. 2023 Very expensive bakery which seems to be specializing more and more on cakes. Some of the most expensive pasties and pies are sold here. Despite the price quality is good - just value for money that is lacking. 2022 - Quality still very good in the main with a couple of exceptions - custard tart too set! & quiche a bit bland - prices have risen again!

Lovely little patisserie in a beautiful village, a variety of different pastries and sandwiches, it was really busy when u went but service is quick and you get served pretty quickly, parking was the only issue but I would definitely visit again.

A visit to Corbridge is not complete without a visit to Grant's Bakery! It's actually the only reason I go to Corbridge... Shhhh, don't tell anyone!

Wow! We visited here on a weekend away and were not disappointed. We got two pastries, two cakes and 2 sandwiches all of which were amazing quality and taste! Apple crumble croissant- wow! Cannot recommend enough if you are passing.

I have been a few times for a proper judgement. A very nice local busy place that offers a huge selection of desserts (definitely a good patisserie chef) and bakery stuff. They serve savoury as well (love the burata and olive pizza), but a bit of more variety is needed for vegetarian or pescaterian sandwiches. However, to enrich the experience, they need to work a lot on their coffee and training staff on coffee making, particularly considering their coffee price, one would expect a proper barista coffee - if you love your coffee ☕️.

It’s changed, and honestly, four around 30 minutes of queuing I’m disappointed. If you order a slice of pie to go, that’s all you get, a cold wedge of dry pie shoved in a bag, no gravy. They no longer seem to do the hot sandwiches with meat and gravy. It all seems well made so it’s a bit of a shame that the delivery is so underwhelming. Probably won’t be back!

This is a place where dreams are made. Extremely difficult to choose what you want, could quite easily have bought it all. Almond croissants are to die for. The cheese scones are divine. The lass who served us was lovely. Will be visiting again!

We were visiting Corbridge Roman Town and my husband decided to investigate places nearby for lunch. Well he found an absolute cracker. Predominately a bakery and patisserie with a few tables to eat in. We bagged a table outside the front feeling very continental and overlooking the pretty church and small market square. I went in to order and whilst there was a little wait this was just because each customer was treated with individual care and attention. We ordered sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks everything came to £33 which we thought was very reasonable considering the quality. The staff were delightful especially Julie (I think) the assistant manager who served us. The food was delicious especially the Peach Melba which seemed to defy the laws of physics by having fondant icing on top of whipped cream without collapsing. Highly recommend!

Me and my friends have been wanting to visit this bakery for a while and I'm glad we did. The food is beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looks. The staff were lovely, Lucy especially looked after us and her customer service skills were excellent.We hope to come back soon :)

Fabulous shop with some amazing cakes bought 2 cakes to take away banoffe pie and chocolate cheesecake, not the cheapest just over £10 but worth the money. There is also a cafe with inside and outside seating. If in the area would definitely go again.

Stopped by as saw some reviews on Google and it's just as amazing as it looks online. Got some seats on the outside but they also have indoor seating too. The quality of the food is amazing and worth every penny. Expect a little queue on a weekend but it might be under 5 minutes or so.

Their cakes and their bakes looked ok but the taste was ordinary. After trying some really nice local patisseries in Newcastle, this was a disappointment.

We popped in today on the way back from our holidays, it's the first time we've visited since the cafe opened so was good to see what it was like. There was quite a long wait to be served, but nothing too major, there seemed to be a problem as they'd run out of milk!!! Anyway we bought a sandwich and drink to eat in and cakes to take home, whilst ordering the lady serving us seemed a little distracted but our food came and was really tasty. However the huge disappointment was when we opened the box of cakes when we got home my husbands was totally wrong, he had ordered key lime pie but had received a tart with raspberries, meringue and a macaron on...all sound lovely but he really dislikes meringue and macarons, so wouldn't eat it. Not a huge issue but when we live an hour away we can't just pop back. Food in the cafe was great though!

I had big expectations as the shop was very busy. We went predominantly for tipsy cake which was ok but very expensive at almost £10. The cakes looked amazing but I am afraid style over substance. As a regular baker of cakes myself was looking forward to a treat. At £5.50 on average for a single cake I was expecting a decadent experience. The strawberry Tart's pastry was very hard. I understand it has to withhold the fillings but I almost lost mine. Peach Melba was so sweet there was no other taste. I am genuinely sad to give this review.

The cakes from Grants Bakery are little works of art, as if painted! It's lovely to sit outside the door and enjoy the scenery of Corbridge with a pot of tea and a piece of cake.

Lovely Bakery in the beautiful village of Corbridge. Very popular and can get busy, but well worth the wait. So much to choose from, luxury cakes, sandwiches and pastries. Savoury selection is very popular with the hubby! Cakes are packed in boxes to take away Quite pricey but the quality is amazing. We visit often, mostly on a weekend We love Corbridge Parking is available but often all spaces are taken so be prepared to wait or park elsewhere and walk Vegetarian sandwiches are not available very often which is disappointing (we don’t all like meat!) The shop has recently upgraded so there is now a seated cafe again very popular and busy

Words can’t describe how good this place is. I would recommend this bakery to everyone I came across. We will certainly be back. The bakery is in a beautiful town, so why don’t you go and explore and pop into Grants.

Small place but packed with a ton of cakes and pastries. Big thick sausage rolls and tasty cakes I would highly recommend visiting here. Parking is a nightmare so park up on the hill for free then walk down. Nice staff here and nice clientele.

Wow this place was amazing. The quality of the cakes and sandwiches reminded me of some of the places in Paris. The staff were friendly and it was a great place to chill and people watch. I went for a biscoff cheesecake which was perfect. The Mrs opted for a strawberry meringue. Both of us really enjoyed the cakes and coffee's. We were also given some monkey bread for free which was very nice, we had it back at home for a late afternoon treat. We'll definitely be returning.

An amazing bakery!!!! We stopped off here during our coast to coast cycle challenge. They have an amazing selection of cakes and pastries and we had some lovely treats. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Grants Bakery without hesitation.
