Definitely the best bakery in the North East...desserts are lush, I would like to try all of them😋

An amazing shop full of beautifully presented cakes, sandwiches etc. Wandered up into Corbridge early (7am) on Saturday morning to grab a coffee and Croissant and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend if only to window shop 😂

Excellent bakery always visit whenever we are in Corbridge. Friendly staff and reasonable prices sells everything you would expect in a bakery and plenty of treats to try.

Unreal, best cakes around by miles 😋 Friendly staff too and so easy to spend so much on all there beautiful treats and even savory stuff!

Corbridge is one of my favourite places to visit with family, and each time we go we make sure to stop by Grants bakery. The cakes and pastries really are a work of art and always have so much taste! I can’t wait to spend many more years visiting both Corbridge and Grants.

The best sausage Roll and Carrot cake I’ve ever tasted. Both 10/10. Don’t mind paying good money for great products. Perfection

Massive selection of sweet and savoury bakes. Everything we tried was delicious!

Overrated and overpriced. The peach melbas are 70% cream, 15% icing, 10% pastry and a paltry portion of "tinned" peach. The strawberry tart was very disappointing. I can bake tastier better bread myself. The pork pie was delicious. Service was without a smile, a please or a thank you. I wont be returning.

What a fantastic place for cakes

Family mentioned, so went to Town for Lunch at Black Bull, then Grants for Desert.......Travelled an hour away to saviour these delights......worth the visit, but at same time expect to pay more than what you would spend....As i say 'worth the visit, for the mouth watering fillings'

Very disappointed on seeing they had won awards I thought why not try it. I bought a raspberry and chocolate scone which was stodgy and undercooked

Fabulous bakery. This could easily grace Piccadilly or Paris. Totally of the First Order.

The prices make my mortgage look small, and the food wasn’t even worth it. My pasty was dry and unappetising, and my boyfriend got food poisoning from the sausage roll not heated up properly. Don’t waste your time and money.

The cakes in here are outstanding! They are beautiful to look at and they taste divine. If you want something special to savour with a cup of tea this is the place to go.

We called in here on our way to Lumley Castle, what a delightful place, we were only there for a couple of days but we called in on three more occasions before returning home to Australia. We’ll be back on our next visit.

Finally visited,shop was busy,very cramped,couldn't see what was on offer as people where in front of the display cabinets,got our food and i can honestly say hand on heart the food was nothing special,freezing cold sausage sarnie,egg custard tart that tasted bland and more like a quiche,my mam wanted 2 mince pies,when we got home the lad who served her had gave her 2 sweet mince pies instead even though she had pointed to others,he seemed very pressured behind the counter,i tried the sweet mince pies and can honestly say ive tasted better from greggs...over all disappointed massively.

I would just like to say thank you to one of your staff. Unfortunately I didn't grab her name but I was scraping my car this morning trying to get the ice off and she came over and offered to put some hot water on my windscreen. Honestly I cannot thank her enough for just helping me get to work thar bit quicker this morning. Please pass on my praises to her, she was an absolute gem :)

Chatty staff lovely selection of cakes. The Christmas Cake square is divine.

Some yummy things in here, ladies need to brush up a bit on what they have on display and what the ingredients are. But I dare you to come out empty handed

Nice Bakery... with fabulous cakes!

We visited today, and while the products all looked excellent, we felt a little in the way as a member of staff was moving around the shop with a clipboard and kept asking us to move while we waited to be served. Where-ever we moved too we were in the way and had to move again. Order a few items, got home to find rather than 2 sausage rolls we had 1. We should have learned after our last visit where we ordered 2 cheese scones and got home to only find 1. (Both times we’d ordered a few different items so aren’t sure if we were charged for 1 or 2 items.) Maybe some basic numeracy training for your staff would be beneficial, as counting to 2 shouldn’t really be a stretch! If you’re visiting to purchase, check you’ve got what you ordered before driving home, in our case 30 minutes away! PS the little “Grants” logos on the strawberry tarts aren’t actually edible, they are cardboard. But when left on the strawberry tart I assumed it was an edible printed wafer. Really don’t understand why they have the card on them if not edible!

I asked for a sourdough loaf was charged 3.46 it wasnt sourdough at all, when i arrived at my destination some 40 minutes away it appears it was a standard cob white loaf. I can only tolerate sourdough. Staff training... and while you are training them on the products, you might suggest they smile and say hello wouldn't go a miss

Cakes are amazing, pricey, but well worth it.

We stopped here for lunch while we were passing through Colbridge and it was lovely. There is such a brilliant choice of savoury and sweet options and they all look delicious. Everything was a decent price and really good portions so we got a few things. I would travel all the way back just for the frangipane tart!

We stopped at Corbridge for a quick visit and discovered this bakery (as we noticed a lot of people carrying their dessert walking around them village 😂). Bought strawberry pie, had it the next day (kept in fridge) and surprised to find the crust is still crispy. It was so yummy bursting with strawberry flavours. My only regret was I didn’t buy more as I was worried it may be soggy after few hours but surprised to find it still tasted so fresh the next day. Highly recommended

This pretty bakery is set in a beautiful town. All the cakes looked lovely so we bought a few. I was disappointed when i got home to realise the ingredients on one of the cakes had lots of E numbers and preservatives. I just assumed that the cakes were homemade and i shouldnt have. I only ever buy cakes with real ingredients. The simple egg, flour and sugar type ingredients. I dont like to say a negative but I thought id point it out for others that might care. Its possible the cakes behind the counter were homemade so maybe the bakery can comment. Its still a lovely shop and if you are not concerned about ingredients then you will be pleased to stumble upon it. The whole town is lovely there.

Wow! If you've not visited this awesome bakery in Corbridge you are missing a great opportunity to taste the most amazing food. Highly recommended.

Don't rate this place very well...looks all nice with black decor but looks are deceiving...the price is astronomical for what you get.. tastless steak pie and the Cumberland sausage roll could be used to knock nails in....rubbish in my view

could use the sasuage roll as a hammer it's that hard and for the price definitely not worth it

Extravagantly indulgent cakes. I had a most amazing Peach Melba tart with heaps of fresh cream held in by a peach flavoured fondant, and my husband had a bannoffee pie which also hit peak taste satisfaction. We returned just before our return trip to buy some veg-packed quiche slices for the journey. Grant's is a credit to Corbridge!

A wonderful bakery in the heart of Corbridge. By far the best in Northumberland. Presentation is outstanding and all the savoury and sweet options I’ve tried are 10/10 delicious. Couldn’t recommend more. Here’s a photo of my family and I enjoying a delicious meringue from Grants that I topped with strawberries and cream. A must visit for any occasion.

Five stars for just about everything! Congratulations on your recent national award... perhaps you could consider the size of some of your patisserie items (?)... Some are on the large side! Please continue to be the yardstick by which others are judged...

Peach Melba's weren't very peachy. Scant piece of fruit under a mountain of cream and fondant. Can't compare to Greggs Melba's with a generous wedge.

Always found Grants to be of a high standard. They use good ingredients and create very tasty, moorish cakes. They also produce an excellent daily loaf, with many varieties to choose from.

Well I'm following up a review I made of this food gold mine 11month ago!! I Didn't realise it was so long since I visited, shame I don't live closer,,, its actually maybe even got better from what was already a proper fresh spotless tasty establishment !! Fab food huge choice of everything sweet and savoury aswell as your coffee, s and juices it's just got to be tried out,,, best of bate,,, friendly girls serving, could not rate it more highly ,,,., Just called into this food goldmine today 15/05/22 blimey what a bate shop very best of tasty everything , sat in my van outside and demolished my first round of savory food and sweet, then went straight back in and ordered the same and more to take home!!! polite Friendly staff also and place is spotless,,,, see you again next weekend grants!! Beautiful bakery and produce of the highest of srandards which we have enjoyed so much many times. Very saddened and disappointed though this week to be served by such a rude member of staff who asked me what I wanted with her back to me and when she misunderstood my order tutted very loudly. Didnt make eye contact once while serving me and carried on a conversation with another staff member the whole time. Didnt make me feel very valued as a customer Not what iv come to accept from this fine establishment which is one of our favourite places

Cakes and pastries all day long! Hands down the best I have tried. Corbridge doesn't really have a good place for a breakfast sandwich. I tried Grants bacon sandwich was a great sandwich thick cut chunky bacon. But, the sausage was not for my taste, if the price and flavour meet then im fine with paying the price. Great shop I reviewed my last comment and I had to take in mind that I'm not used to high meat content quality sausage, that they provide what is undoubtedly well received by others.

What a fabulous selection of pastries and cakes! We shared a tuna melt and had a cake each. Divine. Also brilliant service very friendly.

Gorgeous little place with the nicest peach melba ever. The staff were all lovely ladies and very helpful. It's a shame it's not a bigger place with a seating area.The shop was busy but the staff were very efficient so the queue went down quickly. We spent a few hours in Corbridge today and the bakery was busy the whole time. The next time I go it's the tipsy cake 😀

The long queue is worth the wait for any cake and pastry lover . Would definitely recommend Grants bakery to every one . Good customer service and always with a smile .

Simply amazing food! Worth every penny

Always buy something here when we visit, but today niticed the strawberry tarts had changed a bit. Bought one anyway, almost £4 for a load of cream and one small strawberry. Will not buy again. Very poor value

Popped in to pick up some lunch when visiting Corbridge for the first time. Loved the food so much (Cumberland sausage roll, Northumberland pasty, and cinnamon rolls) that we went back twice during the week to get more!

Excellent bakery on Corbridge market place, with a range of savoury and sweet items of all sorts. Great if you fancy a treat as there are a large range of sweet cakes such as frangipani tarts with fruit toppings. We've indulged ourselves a couple of times while visiting Corbridge and this bakery is on our list, as is the Corbridge Larder should we visit again!! What used to be called a 'fancy' bakery, though there were plenty of not so sweet items and breads, as well. Nice staff who gave great, friendly service on both our visits. Worth a visit!!! Definitely!!

This bakery is world class. I'd consider moving here, but I'd soon weigh more than 100 kilos. We had both savory items -- pasties -- and sweet cakes. Everything, everything was amazing!

Fantastic sweet and savoury selection.

Called in by chance yesterday, first time we have visited..bought two sausage rolls and two steak pies. The sausage rolls were very good....but the steak pies were excellent, probably the best in the north east.

Absolutely gorgeous food, staff are lovely and could not recommend enough!

I gave a good review last year, and still like this bakery - cakes & tarts lovely and sausage baps really good. But staff really need to pay attention. £24 for 3 tarts and 3 sausage baps not cheap, so when we ask for ketchup on 2 and brown sauce on one, we don't expect to get brown sauce on all three

Wow! What a bakery this is, wish I could give this review more stars as Grant’s is the best bakery ever! Our stay in Slaley consisted of numerous visits to here and we wasn’t once disappointed! 😆

Great selection for all tastes and really good quality - spoilt for choice!

Firstly the positives - food fresh and well presented. Great reviews on flavour from the family. However, the reason for the 2 star review is the lack of choice for vegetarians. Where my husband had a choice between 20 tarts, pasties, sausage rolls and sandwiches, i had the option of 2 sandwiches and a cheese pasty. When asked if they could knock up a sandwich without the meat the answer was "no we have no buns". (That was the killer for them unfortunately).

Sensational choice to take away, delicious and superb, a must if visiting Corbridge.

Great stotties for breakfasts. But started to put too much pastry in their pies and less filling.

Fantastic food, dire cup of tea!

Fortunes for Victoria sandwich cake....the same cake from Asda except it's a Victoria sponge less than half the price same SIZE cake.£2.50. Probably wouldn't be as bad if they emphasised, this isn't a Victoria sponge it's a sandwich cake. The plus side of Asda Victoria sponge is the filling is jam and FRESH cream...compared to the more expensive cake from grants bakery which has butter icing.... REALLY?.... at least the dogs enjoyed it🤬

Picked up my telephone order which I called in on Friday, knowing I would be in the area. Afternoon tea for 2 and some extras, great quality and fabulous food as always. Lovely helpful staff. The queue out of the door speaks volumes as to the popularity of this bakery.

Great find. The choice of baked and savoury good are excellent. Some classics and some to discover. So you can make some safe choices and some that may help you discover some new favourites . Staff are warm and helpful.

Ive only ever had Pies,Pasties & Sausage rolls from this bakery when iam passing through Corbridge,not as nice as Greggs in my opinion but still OK. But the prices are eye watering (approx 2 and a half times what you pay for the same things at Greggs) Its well seen that they have a monopoly for a bakery shop in the town

Very expensive bakery which seems to be specializing more and more on cakes. Some of the most expensive pasties and pies are sold here. Despite the price quality is good - just value for money that is lacking. 2022 - Quality still very good in the main with a couple of exceptions - custard tart too set! & quiche a bit bland - prices have risen again!

An absolute must. Always factor in a trip to this bakery when visiting the North East!

Consistently amazing. Superb range of hand made cakes. If you're lucky enough to be there when they've got the pecan pies in, try one...theyre amazing!! Good sandwiches and sausage rolls too, and friendly staff. Always a good bet for a weekend treat.

Some really nice Russian cakes, not as bothered for the pasty & sausage roll I got and honestly cake price ok but other stuff overpriced. Be warned nothing is actually priced anywhere so 1 spicy sausage roll, 1 pasty 1 small mince florentine came to around £10

We were visiting the area and popped into Corbridge for a little walk about. You cannot walk past this bakery without wanting to see it's goodies! The strawberry tart I bought was absolutely delicious. Honestly could have devoured another one.

Paid a visit for the first time this morning with my mother-in-law. While the prices are a fair bit higher than you might ordinarily expect, the portion sizes are generous and the quality is worlds beyond anything I've ever tasted from other bakeries. The raspberry and white chocolate flapjacks are simply exquisite, and the staff are all wonderful, friendly people. Everything is arranged neatly on the shelves, and there's plenty of space between the counter and the outer windows to allow for careful browsing while you social distance. I can see myself taking many trips into Corbridge in future just to come here.

Very popular bakery sometimes with a queue so obviously the place to go. A wide range of fancy cakes - we just had Scotch pies and scones and both were very nice.

I came to the area to catch salmon, I am coming back to the area for this bakery's Victoria Sponge Cake. Hands down this is the best cake I have EVER had, and by a country mile. My friend agreed, we cut into quarters and ate the lot between us in 10 mins!!!
