Cafe Central in Northumberland

A jacket potato and a cheese and ham toastie, with slaw and salad cost £10.10!! To take away. Jacket was rock hard and dry, completely inedible. The toastie had scraps of ham. Not worth it at all and won't be repeating.

I very recently placed an order from here to provide a buffet for Monday just gone. I was extremely happy with the service and the food provided was excellent, very fresh and tasty. I will definitely use again. Thank you.

First and last visit I'm afraid.... We ordered the medium breakfast only to be told that 2 of the items weren't available - sausage and steaklet - a breakfast isn't a breakfast without sausage! The single slice of bacon was lukewarm, fatty and undercooked, the fried eggs were overcooked and the hash browns were of very cheap quality...the best thing on the plate was the fried bread!! The table by the door was a poor choice - they kept leaving it open while they took buffet trays outside - our lukewarm bacon was stone cold in a flash!! Will we visit again - definitely not.....

Following recommendations decided to pop in on the rare occasion that it was open when I passed. Turned out to be a mistake -Unfortunately. It was very busy, and a couple of men in the corner didn’t help things by having high volume voices and one had ill fitting jeans, whereupon when he stood up I got a full view of his backside… So atmosphere I can’t say was great as was the waiting time which was about 15 minutes for a sandwich and a jacket potato and a dessert. But it was late lunch time I suppose so you expect a little wait time Potato was lovely - can’t go wrong with a jacket potato, but the cheesecake was really squashed into a box as the cut slice must not have fit-which I didn’t realise until I got home, and it did not look appealing. (Not eaten at time of review) Also, had I not pointed out to the staff member please don’t put my hot potato on top of the cheesecake already in the bag, she would’ve done … But luckily I stopped her in time. Not that it would’ve made a difference looking at it I suppose. However, the sandwich is a bit of a weird one- Asked if they could do ham with crab and they said no, but they could do ham and add some prawn mayo. I didn’t realise this was going to cost an extortionate amount for what it was. I did ask for it to be buttered but it was not - This wasn’t realised upon until I got home. Which is also when I queried the bill which was £13.80 and it would’ve meant that the sandwich was £6.70 - and I would never pay £6.70 for a sandwich! That’s giving a petrol station a run for its money ha ha! So I did query this with the Cafe and they said they thought it was prawn with a bit of ham I had ordered - but I don’t believe that for a second because it just looks like someone has spread a little prawn mayo and then put the ham on top, so that is definitely ham with a hint of prawn. (Even if it had been loaded with prawn mayo and a tiny bit of ham, I wouldn’t pay £6.70 for that). Again, I wish I had checked my food in the shop, but as I said it was busy and I’ll be honest I just wanted to get out of there as it was a bit cramped. Either way, I feel it’s an overpriced establishment for Blyth based upon my experience. It’s a bit of a shame because it’s quite small in there so when you’re waiting there’s nowhere to stand and you feel a bit like a third wheel. So maybe that needs sorting out so there’s like an actual waiting area or such outside maybe an overhang or something? Just trying to problem solve. I just wish I was writing a nicer review, but this was my experience of it. Sorry, I don’t recommend.

We rarely go out for breakfast in blyth but needed to stay close to home and i remembered this place moved to broadway. We came this morning and ordered a breakfast and a brunch meal. The food was gorgeous, they were happy to make adjustments to our meal and the service was great (a very lovely and friendly girl took our order). A special mention is needed for the coffee which is included in the breakfast price which is amazing value. The coffee itself was delicious and even came with a little biscoff biscuit which was such a welcome addition. Overall it was a lovely atmosphere, amazing food and great service. Couldn’t fault our visit at all. Thank you lots!!

Great experience here this morning. Me and my girlfriend went for breakfast, we got a medium breakfast and a brunch meal. Asked for the bacon extra crispy and it was done brilliantly. The coffee was great too and came with a lotus biscoff biscuit! The service was really good, everyone who arrived was greeted. A guy came in using a zimmer frame walker and was able to to find a place easily. Oh and the food tasted terrific. We’ll definitely be back!

Lovely little cafe and really good value for money. I was extra happy as even though its a small cafe they still had soya milk so I could have my latte. I had a lovely sandwich freshly made how I wanted. Definitely will go back.

First visit but won't be the last. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic staff and great food at very reasonable prices. A very happy experience.

American burger was just a burger in a bun, was ok but nothing special about it, was expecting more to it.

Just give the driver £20 he give me my change a give him £2.50 tip he comes back amd says i only give him a 10a but didn't have the £1.50 so a give him £20 but when a tryed to explain to him he said dont get cheeky with me a would not recommend this place there delivery people are the worst

Was OK, tasty enough, but the meat was all scrappy bits. Had better.

Unexpected lovely Sunday lunch. £3.50 for small (ample for me and mum) £6 for normal size which was a good size. Very tasty beef dinner. Extra £1.50 for sweet which was very large, loads of custard. They are very popular for delivery and can see why.

Stopped for a break, and even during this pandemic, they were helpful, efficient and friendly. When we ordered a cup of tea we had a pot each, enough for a couple of cups.A lovely spot to watch the world go by.

I used to like it here but customer service is no existing and check my photo of many hairs in my burnt breakfast. The toast zoom in its embedded in my bread like its been on the floor it made me sick when I showed the cook she said its not mine im blonde 🙃 disgusting and a disgrace I wont even eat here again this was after a 45 min wait 2 other complaints while I was there so I wasn't the only one not happy I went last time and it was disgusting I was here to give it a second chance 😔

Ive been eating out of here for over a year now and the food has been acceptable and the service exceptional. Unfortunately on this occasion these two were very lacking. I ordered a brunch which i do sometimes but this time the sausages were extremely tough like they had been microwaved but i thought simple mistake ill ask for a replacement. I was told in no uncertain terms that she would NOT cook another and refunded me. This issue could have been easily rectified with good customer service but not on this occasion hence the 1 star review

Decent portions, nice food, reasonable price, friendly staff and didn't have to wait too long. My four year old son loved it. Highly recommended.

Totally enjoyed my visit and I will be returning soon. The staff are pleasant and the all day breakfast delicious and it is great value for money.

Just been here for a coffee and food with business colleagues and have just had the worst experience ever! My first ever review on here as I felt so strongly about it. There we were all sitting down to a coffee when one of the staff dropped our sandwiches onto the floor in the corner of the room where it hadn't been sweped, then sneakily put it back onto the plate and brought it over (little did she know three of the people I was with noticed what had happened). My colleague sat there for a minute gobsmacked at the hair and dust on the sandwich then returned it. Well what can i say there was a woman there, manager I think, I don't know she has ginger hair, quite old and has ginger teeth to match. Started shouting at her staff and this was in front of paying customers. Then accused us of lying! And kicked us out. Never in all my life have I seen this and defiantly will not be going back!

Had a sandwich made with some bread that was absolutely caked in this disgusting dust! We sent them back. Nobody smiled as they served and all had faces of thunder one of the staff had the place smelling of sweat!!So god knows what the hygiene levels are in this place

Had pie chips and peas couldn't fault it I will be back for another meal In here if your in Blyth call in good service and good food

We have used the Sunday dinner delivery for work. For 17 dinners delivered, prepared to a very good standard at a very reasonable price, it was the best. I’ve asked if it’s possible to have few extra Yorkshires and gravy since there’s few dinners ordered, and they just gave us a lots and lots of it. Gravy is absolutely gorgeous, and when there’s enough gravy, the customers are happy. Thank u Maxine and Adele. Will definitely come back for more.

We had a lovely full English here. Very well cooked and we were given a large pot of tea with our meal. Only downside is that the café is rather cold.

Really good food at good prices. Cafe was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly. The food was served quickly even though the café was quite busy. Will definitely visit again and will tell friends and family about this place,

Have used them for a Sunday Roast Meal delivery regularly and the food is hot and great portions with a choice of Beef, Pork or Chicken Roast Dinners and in 2 sizes, small or large. Great value for money and would highly recommend this service and using the Cafe which does a much larger menu to eat in or take away with a variety of meals and sandwiches.

Called into Blyth after a coastal walk and stumbled on this little gem. I had delicious home made cake and my wife had a substantial a tasty toastie, good coffee too. The small cafe is remarkably clean and the staff very friendly. What a lovely place to go to instead of the usual bland chains of coffee houses selling overpriced food and drinks.
