Liked the look of the deli and spotted the busy cafe upstairs. Grabbed the last table as fancied a cup of tea and piece of cake. Frequented by locals as well as tourists, always a good sign. Prompt and friendly service - good choice of local produce, plumped for the Bakewell tart, good choice. Tea was plentiful with hot water top up not a problem. My better half picked the fruit scone - decent size although slightly surprised that this contained blueberry. Well worth a visit if you are in For bridge.

A wonderful spot in the centre of Corbridge, one of the best villages for quaint shops. Sadly the store windows are wasted space, how nice it would be to see the choices inside, how inviting this store would be with a sharp window display. The cold deli is poorly displayed in part, the shelves are grubby and poorly placed in the store. fridges could be fuller and tidier. The stairway is grubby and upstairs cafe a mix match of shelving and service area. The staff could be more organised and friendlier. The cafe needs attention with cleanliness and organising, gifts are poorly displayed and waste of cafe space. Overall the whole larder needs cleaning and organising, this could be a great place to put on the map. The food l had was cold and though quality bacon it was overcooked, coffee was quite good, expensive for what l had.

Great cafe menu with a touch of class, all day breakfast (which I had), morning coffee, afternoon tea, soup and bread/scone/sandwich pie/tart from downstairs Deli with salad, staff helpful, pleasant, friendly. Must be a good sign seems to have several locals as well as visitors. I made a point of coming here on my second visit to Corbridge. Dogs welcome, a real boon for visitors. And of course it was clean and Deli is worth browsing in. Very small children, parents and grandparents all accommodated but a number if stairs from ground floor to upstairs cafe

We were in Corbridge and thought this looked nice, and how right we were! The cafe upstairs is simply decorated but the food was amazing and interesting. We had spicy Moroccan chicken and Welsh rarebit, both of which were delicious. There is a wide selection of teas and the cakes looked fantastic as well. As others have said, the service was a little slow (we arrived just after the lunch time rush and it was busy), so you need to be patient, but the wait was well worth it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The deli downstairs was great too, with the biggest cheese counter I think I’ve ever seen. Definitely worth a visit and we are already planning to go back.

Changed over the last year: Coffee was lovely, food certainly wasn’t, very little meat in a stale bun & cake dried out. Informed the waitress as it was left on the plate “sorry” was reply; totally uninterested. Would not return or recommend. On a positive note however, the Delicatessen downstairs is nice as was the gentleman serving.

We love this place. Dog friendly, child friendly. The staff are really kind and welcoming. Lovely food and a nice change from only being able to order paninis and toasties in most places. The only thing that would improve it I think is if they offered a more robust kids option e.g. sandwich with fruit and veggie sticks. But we do like it here. It can be tricky to get a seat but we don’t mind.

First time visiting the corbridge Larder and it was brilliant. Like the previous review the COVID procedures are great and I felt very safe whilst in the cafe. I visited on Saturday with my husband and young daughter. The waitress that served us was very attentive and brought some toys to the table to entertain my young daughter and although she said they are disinfected she proceeded to clean them again which I thought was very good. My husband had the Welsh rarebit and I had the tomato soup with a sandwich on the side and it was delicious. We had to have caked afterwards also after seeing what was on offer. The brownie was devoured by my little girl, my husband loved his coffee cake so much he took another piece home (which the waitress advised was made with real coffee and not flavourings) and I tried an amazing white chocolate cake which was so more-ish. After our meal we had a look around the shop downstairs and there is so much to offer. Wonderful items you wouldn’t find in the supermarkets. My visit on Saturday definitely deserves a 5* rating as the food was excellent, cakes amazing, COVID procedures perfect and staff 100%. I will definitely be visiting again.

It’s hard to pin point why our visit was average but it may have something to do with it being very busy and the food we chose! The flat bread with roasted vegetables was overpriced for what it was and the hummus was tasteless and lacked seasoning, nearly £10 for a flatbread, smear of hummus a few roasted vegetables and salad leaves, a pricing review is required I think? The ploughman’s was OK but the smoked salmon on rye was a bit overpowered by too much sloppy sauce. The idea of the Larder is good but the tables are very close together, the one toilet is limiting, a queue formed at the top of the stairs and dogs being welcomed is fine but not with the amount of space between tables.

She had made the fabulous carrot and courgette soup which my husband and I had with a hot roast beef sandwich, with onion relish. Wow! When Melanie brought the soup, I didn't think I would manage to eat it all because it was rather a large portion, but it was too good to leave any. Finished off with lemon drizzle cake, who could ask for more? Parking was available on the High Street so the cafe was easily accessible but I'm not too sure if they had a lift for disabled access because the cafe is above their shop.

There's a bit of something for everyone at this delightful deli-cum-cafe. We were intrigued by the varied menu; there were a lot of things we would happily have tried, but couldn't resist ordering the reuben sandwich. Yes, it was tasty - but we were shocked to find that it was cold, untoasted, and served on white bread. A proper reuben requires rye bread, toasted till the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.

Visited for a late lunch and was not disappointed. Smoked salmon quiche and salad was lovely, as was the coffee and walnut cake. Service was very prompt by warm friendly staff. Also allowed well behaved dogs which was a bonus for us.

We always have breakfasted here when we stay in Corbridge and on the plus side they also allow dogs in the cafe 👍

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.

My cousin and I were hugely impressed by Castaways. I had been reluctant to go because about 20 years ago the original café had been taken over by a useless couple. But when I passed and looked in, I could see that its original atmosphere had been recreated by the current management. Our reception was very friendly. The café was full (always a good sign) and we were third in the queue. Our table was soon ready and we were seatedby a waitress. We were very comfortable and the atmosphere was nice. Many pleasant people there as customers happily dining and chatting. Good choice of food and drink. I had the traditional breakfast and my cousin had… I think it was avocado and egg on sourdough bread. We were both very content with our lunch. I will certainly return and bring members of my family to enjoy castaways. Nicely sited, easy car parking and great views over Seaton Sluice and the sea. Get yourself along there and have a treat!
