Was in need of a good friendly bar with Sports on, so I could catch the League One Play-Off Final and follow The Owls to glory... and The Grapes came up trumps! Everyone was really friendly, lots of pats on the back and 'good lucks!' as the game went on. Beer was well kept and great value! Bar staff lovely and very friendly - couldn't have asked for more really. A very happy four hours spent in The Grapes, my favourite pub of all time in all of the Tyne Valley!

Whilst in Hexham for the night we found this pub hidden amongst the cobbled streets. The prices are very competitive, the decor was nice, the staff were very pleasant. On this particular night there was an artist playing Northern soul and ska music. His name was Jay R and we would recommend it if he is playing anywhere near you should definitely go. We had a brilliant night.

We found this busy pub charming and friendly. Big thanks to the kind lady (and her son!) behind the bar, who gave good advice on local places to eat. We found the drinks prices to be good value as well.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Couldn't believe the price of the drinks, cheaper than anywhere else around. Its a pub, nothing fancy just good banter and a canny beer garden

Visited Tuesday after. Friendly welcome. Fair few elderly gentleman (assuming they were locals) in. Cheap lager (£5.20 two pints). Clean. Lovely beer garden with shelter. Sport screen inside and out (no sound due to Covid-9 also unusuable due to the virus - pool table, fruit machine, juke box and dart board). Covid -19 precautions firmly in place. Overall a pleasant experience but I think it will be more atmospheric once everything can go back to normal and a weekend might be different. Definitely worth a pop in now though!

Very friendly small pub, a bit off the beaten track however the service is good & amazed at the prices, on a par with Wetherspoons, hidden gem!

I’ve been here more than ones since I moved to Hexham and it is one of the cheapest pub in Hexham. Staff are very friendly and they welcome you whoever you are. They big tvs to watch football match and things. I think mostly elderly people come here on week days I never seen any young people so far

Came here on a sunny, hot day and the welcome was amazing - locals welcoming us in, making sure we knew we could take our dog anywhere including the little garden out back. Superb beer and amazing prices - could have stayed all day

We recently visited The Grapes whilst on a golf trip to Close House! All I can say is this place made our trip....huge thanks to Tony for making us feel so welcome on arrival! This place feels like it’s your local from the moment you walk in.... Sandstorm on the jukebox, game of pool against a geezer wearing a 1996 Ibiza vest and 3 VK Watermelon for £5 😳! 100% we would visit again but next time spend less time at Close House and more time here! Keep up the good work guys! 👍

Always busy, bustling pub. Good if you like sports - watching or playing. John Smiths is less than £2 a pint!

Found this cafe quite by accident but went in as it was full. Soon got a table which was quickly cleaned by efficient staff. Good menu, proper home cooked food at very reasonable prices. All staff very good and friendly with visitors and locals alike. Hope to return again.

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.
