Kirkharle church, St. Wilfrids, was where Capability Brown was Baptised. Once parked in the free car park adjacent to the courtyard, it is a short walk. Lovely location with period buildings once the outbuildings to a grand Country house. There are craft shops there but The Coffee House was why I visited. Clean, bright and looking onto a pretty garden area. An excellent all day breakfast menu was on offer along with a good range of other food. I had a coffee and a cheese and bacon scone. It was rather delicious as the crispy bacon was cooked fresh and put inside the cheese scone. The scone itself was one of the best I have ever had, moist and light and very cheesy. I will be back. Lovely friendly ladies and spotlessly clean.

Possibly the best coffee in Newcastle and half the price of everywhere else! An absolute gem.

Had the Kamikaze Chicken on ciabatta (you get to choose from an assortment of loaves/rolls), it was absolutely delicious! The staff is super friendly and helpful - I was after a sweet treat and they suggested the Biscoff crunch (which was fantastic). They have an extensive menu but also break it down into the top 20 options to help you decide. A must try!

Great and diverse choice of sandwiches and super service - fresh ingredients and lovely scones. Service friendly and efficient.

Visited for breakfast with my partner, was given unclear instructions on how to order - everyone was pleasant, however when approached by one of the workers asking if we had ordered, I said ‘not yet’ to which she bluntly and (quite frankly) rudely responded ‘we’re open til five, you know?’ and walked away. This would’ve been fine as a joke if she told us how to order, but since we weren’t greeted by any staff, we didn’t know. My partner ordered a full english, and the quality of the ingredients were good, however £16 for one sausage and two rare bits of bacon is a bit steep for up north. I ordered the ‘açai’, which was a lovely greek yoghurt bowl with not one drop of açai. I would appreciate true advertising as although the menu did state it had some greek yoghurt, my lactose intolerant self didn’t know I would just be getting a bowl of that. Plus side, fruit and honey were both really fresh and plenty yummy granola. Would we return? No. This is only due to the pricing and misinformation on the menu - coffee was really nice, and my partner may pop back for an ice cream.

So I was in today, and everything seemed nice enough. Decided to eat lunch elsewhere as they only serve sandwiches, but I wanted to try the croissant. I asked for a pistachio based on her recommendation of either an almond or a pistachio. The lady said it's very popular, so I got it to go. I noticed when she was picking the croissant to put in the paper bag, she was moving the croissants so she could pick a specific one from the front. I thought nothing of it until I came home to discover this burnt pathetic excuse of a croissant. So not only had she given me a dry, burnt croissant. The lady purposefully did so! Wicked. In a bad way. We will never bother to go there again. If you want a dry, burnt bread roll, disgusted as a pistachio croissant, go to Batch. And if you want to be given the worst one, ask the lovely lady there for her recommendation. She seems to love that.

As a group of students we do the pub quiz on Mondays every week for the last two years, absolutely love it. The owners are world class and always have a nice chat with ya. Number 1 pub in Newcastle

Él era tan encantador y me hizo a mí y a mis amigos tan bienvenidos. Volveremos a defo x

Absolutely horrific experience. We had to wait an hour for a cheesy chip wrap, and when asked after 45 minutes where our food was we were told it was in the oven? Confused? We weren’t offered anything as compensation, absolutely will never be coming back here

Visited a couple of times during a weeks stay in Jesmond. The beer was top notch and the bar staff very friendly. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer.
