Aidan's Kitchen in Newcastle upon Tyne

Food was fabulous, Service brillant, and I highly recommend the Honey Butter Toast with Vanilla Chantilly and Salted Caramel. What a culinary delight.

I believe this was my third visit to Aidan's Kitchen. As always, we had a great experience. The food was lovely. I had the Steak & Eggs, my girlfriend had the Mexicana. I would highly recommend both dishes. We also both had a Mocha each and I had an orange juice. Drinks orders were taken nice and fast and the drinks arrived promptly too. Cannot fault the coffee, a very tasty cup. The staff were very friendly, we had booked ahead of time and let them know we'd be bringing a pram which they had allocated space. Very handy because the restaurant isn't huge so that was very appreciated. I was surprised just how busy it was on a Wednesday morning. A great sign if you ask me. We will return.

Food was delicious, smashed avocado & poached eggs on toast. Eggs were poached perfectly. Pancakes were impressive.

This was our second visit and the food never fails. Good location and nice relaxing vibe. Noticed the price has gone up with inflation like everything else but hope it stays reasonably decent for us to visit more frequently than a once a while treat.

My husband and I went to Aidans on Monday and I literally can’t stop thinking about the eggs I had (cooked to absolute perfection)!!! We were looking for brunch in Newcastle and this came up… we went and it definitely won’t be our last time! Great service, 5 star food and lovely atmosphere! If we lived closer we’d be here every week! Can’t wait to come back - Thank you!!!!

Went with four friends. Food quite good..... Service was terrible. Three of my friends ordered coffee. The waiter, said "Who wants sugar" we asked for spoons. He then threw spoons on the table....!! Arrogance personified.... He served us lunch, then sat down and had his own lunch 😳 Sorry, this is Sandyford. Don't they need repeat business ?? Won't go back.... This guy is a joke !! Sat and waited 50 minutes for breakfast which never come and got told order was lost even thought there was a max of 4 customers in first and last time

first time to visit at Aiden and I heard that pancake here is very popular and the best one in Newcastle. After I had it, more than fantastic word! It’s so nice!!! I can’t believe that becon on blueberry pancakes and maple syrup will be best combination!! (But I don’t like the drinks. So, for me I don’t recommend drinks both of the white and purple one (I forgot the name) Totally, good food (especially pancake!), good atmosphere, but not impressed the staff because we have to call them to take order 3 times.

Walked in and had to leave cause of how dirty the booths were ( covered in stains and hair🤢) Seems like a cute cafe but really needs to be cleaned!

Fantastic breakfast with superb service

Came here for Drum ‘N Thigh Fridays. - Chicken wings good - crispy potatoes nice - Thunderbird alright. Chipotle gave it a bbq taste. - Tenders tangy but would have liked more spice.

This is literally my first Google review as I normally tip and thank staff/feedback etc, but this cafe hit so hard I had to leave this here as I’m eating the food it’s soo good. I’ve travelled all over 100+ cafes and easily x10 level pancakes, French toast with amazing portion sizes + tons of other options at affordable prices which is a myth in this day n age. Too add super accommodating and lovely vibe instantly seen to as your sat even when it was packed out when I arrived. Super fast service, no rushing can go on, book in advance if poss, a must go restaurant ! Easily one of the nations best no cap 🧢

I can’t remember having had a better breakfast. I had the steak & eggs, which is so much more than simply steak & eggs, it definitely exceeded expectations. Daughter booked it due to excellent reputation amongst her cohort. Will definitely be back.

Who knew a Moroccan version of Steak & Eggs would be so tasty - I trusted and was rewarded accordingly!!! Sourdough is absolutely delicious as well.

Found the place by accident & it's served some of the tastiest food I've ever had, I plumped for a Korean beef , cabbage slaw sandwich....this was awesome!! Returned a few days later with fome work colleagues & everyone was impressed by the quality. I've booked again for a couple weeks time morning brunch with Mrs.B. highly recommended. One minor issue, parking is a mare so walk there!!

Update: the way u talked with me only shows how disrespectable you are, exactly like the comments below said. I know exactly how much my order costs that’s why I know you included a service charge. But any respectable entity will give their customers a recipe at their table BEFORE they pay. But you choose not to do so because you don’t want people to notice what you put in their recipes unless they bother to ask for the recipe. I CHOSE to just pay it because I don’t die for the money like you, but don’t confuse that with me not noticing, had I not noticed and with no receipt how would I have known lol? Don’t insult yourself any further. Original: They include service charge and not give you a receipt in hope you don’t notice 😉

One of the best places for brunch in Newcastle. The portions are huge and everything is made with very high ingredients. The menu has a large variety dishes and everything we had was packed with flavour. We loved the neighbourhood cafe vibe and the service is always absolutely spot on. Simply amazing!

My expectations of Aidan's Kitchen were high based on reviews and reputation, and I found the food was nice, but not particularly exceptional. I had the same dish (steak and eggs) at another local brunch place the week before which was incredible, and I found this one less interesting and flavourful in comparison. The food prices are quite expensive here, which also raised my expecations, and I'm not sure it was entirely worth the premium. However, there's a good selection of sweet treats, and the cake slices are massive and decent value. There is a decent sized seating area inside, which is nicely decorated and cosy. The tables felt quite crowded together to fit more people in; as a result it can be quite loud, with many conversations going on. There is a 10% service charge added to the bill, which I've since found out is discretionary as noted on the menu, but I missed that at the time. However, it is not stated as discretionary on the bill itself, which I feel is really where it should be. The staff were friendly and service was good, but not exceptional to warrant a default service charge in my opinion.

Lovely place. Was in Newcastle for some work and found this lil cafe there. the food was so yumm. My husband and I visited everyday there for breakfast when we were in Newcastle. Definitely recommend to go there.

Bad treatment, the staff did not smile for us at least. They were not welcoming us, so we left the place and went to another place.

Visited here after eyeing it up for a month and the food was excellent, although not cheap but you get what you pay for. Staff were friendly and service was good, we waited around 25 minutes for food which is the minimum I'd expect to wait in a busy please like this. The reason I can only give 3 stars is the 10% service charge added to the bill. It really bugs me as there is no clarification where this tip goes and whilst I know you can ask for it to be removed I always feel it's not a fair reflection on the staff when you do. I don't mind paying higher prices for a breakfast but for 2 people including the service charge this took our bill to over £50. I would return as the staff could not be faulted and the food was excellent however this would possibly mean it wouldn't be top of our list for our next breakfast trip out.

Food defo a 5/5 m. Like it was really nice even the pancakes were light and fluffy but the space was quite crowded and most likely because everyone knows how good it is. Would recommend but will be crowded and u might have to wait ! 😂

It’s a lovely brunch place. You might need to stand in a cue a little bit but not for too long. I love their interior design. The menu is ok, maybe can be a bit more clean, but they do offer various options for food. French toast is good but it out too much cream which hurts my stomach a bit. The egg and beef sandwich is tasty but needs a bit less oily. Overall it is worth going, just keep in mind, that their breakfast/ brunch is heavy.

Luckily we managed to get a table on a busy morning. The food was tasty with generous portions. Never had Beef Rendang for breakfast before and the pancakes were light and fluffy. Well worth a visit.

Aidan’s Kitchen is superb, the quality of the food, to the friendly warm staff and the ambience. A quirky little cafe in a lovely pleasant area/neighbourhood. However the downside is unfortunately and I was quite shocked, they include a huge amount of service charge/tax. It was extortionate! Why charge so much? 😭 So Which really put me off in going there in the future anymore sadly. Well maybe one day, but not anytime soon

Gutted I don’t live in Newcastle, otherwise I would be back to sample everything on the menu. I had the Mexicana - the flavours were amazing! I am going to try and recreate this at home, as every bite was heaven. Also got a chocolate brownie which was equally delicious, soft and gooey! How a brownie should be! Also great tunes and vibe. 👍🏼

Quirky little cafe with great food Pretty busy for a Wednesday lunch time. Had rendang beef with crispy fried egg served on a thick slice of lovely sourdough, amazing. Also had jalapeño royale and we shared! Both very good. Will definitely return, efficient, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Best to book beforehand. Everything we saw coming from the kitchen looked delicious!

Have been to Aidan’s Kitchen many times and have also tried the new Little Aidan’s. Food, service & atmosphere always excellent. Lovely people 🩷 Ordered a cake for my daughter’s Birthday which was absolutely delicious.

Service was excellent and the full English was very nice other than the sausages which were not up to par for me. My girlfriend had the vegetarian breakfast and enjoyed it very much. I do feel the prices are more than they should be for what it is you are getting. The problem arose about 30-40 minutes after we had finished our meal. My girlfriend felt hot and nauseous. We got back to hers just in time for her to be violently sick. I don't know what it was but after she had been sick she was absolutely fine for the rest of the day. I emailed them about the incident on the feedback form but nothing back to even ask if she was okay.

Had a great brunch here on Sunday. My gluten-free eggs Benedict was very tasty and my husband was impressed by both the quantity and quality of his beef rendang. This was our second visit, having been impressed when we first visited a year ago.

Have been frequenting Aiden’s now for around a year and a half. The quality and consistency these guys produce is on another level. Such a creative menu. The atmosphere of the café is really cozy. I ordered a chai latte that was lovely but the pancake were awful. They were soaked in the syrup and the after taste was of raw pancakes. I'll might come back to give them a second possibility with another dish.
