Excellent bar. Really unusual and beautiful inside. Small So recommend booking. Table service was excellent, Serena was attentive without being intrusive and always seemed to manage to turn up just as we were order another round of drinks. Highly recommended

Last Sunday we partook in tipsy tea with friends of ours, our hosts Serena and Jasmine looked after us and the food and drink was amazing we highly recommend the Tipsy Tea!

This cute little bar has quite the range of cocktails.

This bar is consistently the best for cocktails in Newcastle IMO. The mixing is second to none, and the menu is broad, with all the classics, cocktails with a twist, and many total originals. Really worth a visit, but book in advance to be sure of a table

Brilliant cocktails and a perfect spot

What an absolute surprise to find this little gem of a place!! Enter down the stairs of old style Gents Urinals to walk into a beautiful modern charming Cocktail Bar. Full of character but laid out so it's modern and has a wonderful atmosphere. Great range of cocktails so went for the rhubarb n ginger gin with bramble syrup🍹 Absolutely gorgeous 🥰

Lovely quaint location with an interesting setting / history. Staff were extremely friendly and professional. It is a shame their espresso martinis were made of a coffee concentrate instead of a real espresso shot. However the French 75s did taste nice, would come back again to try more of the drinks on offer!

I couldn't be more disappointed Visiting Newcastle and had not pre booked, however initially welcomed and offered a seat only to be moved later to an alternative seat due to other bookings which was not a problem to us. Ordered our drinks (only one choice of bottled beer!) and half way through asked to vacate our new seat again as manager had booked our table out. Manager extremely rude in the way he asked us to move and when we politely challenged saying we had already obliged and moved but on this occasion would prefer to finish our drinks. He told us he needed the table and we would have to leave. I have never met such a rude, obnoxious and clearly poor manager in hospitality. He should be sacked. Having said that the venue is quirky but we definitely will not return.

Gorgeous place for cocktails and an intimate feel. I only had ginger beer but my 4 friends had a few cocktails each and they were delicious. Both gentlemen working were lovely.

We were greeted and seated promptly and with a smile. We took advice on what cocktail would suit us and we were not disappointed. Superb cocktails made by excellent staff. What a lovely, little, friendly, fun venue. Give it a go if you get the chance. I hope to be back soon xxx

Was really looking forward to the cocktails here and it turned out that Cinnamon one was relatively watery (barely can taste alcohol) and royal warrant tasted like juice… the staff who greeted us in the first place made us feel unwelcoming and didn’t event try to explain menu for us. My 1 star is mostly for the atmosphere and sadly food and service needs loads of improvement

Great little hidden bar very nice cocktails and friendly service. Welcomed as soon as we walked through the door and service was fast even though it was peak time. Highly recommend

Absolutely delicious cocktails in a beautiful hidden gem bar in Newcastle. Fantastic value for money, 2-4-£12 cocktails from 5-7! The staff are incredible, making sure everyone is catered for & has their glasses full! The best cocktails we’ve ever had, all of us agreed! 10/10 must visit in Newcastle, but be sure to book as it’s quite small.

I enjoyed a couple of drinks in this circular, subterranean bar at Newcastle's Bigg Market. It's an atmospheric spot for a beverage with a friend, on a date or with a small group. Despite having an email confirmation of our booking, the server who greeted us at the entrance of this converted public toilet has no details. Thankfully , we could be accommodated. Otherwise it was a pleasant visit.

Would highly recommend this wonderful cocktail bar drinks were amazing and very attentive friendly staff. Will definitely be returning, thanks again ☺️

Abrupt service, average drinks, visited 9pm on a Fri., so perhaps staff just overstretched and under trained, but not the experience we anticipated, shame.

We were lucky enough to get a table as we hadn't booked and it was very busy as you can expect for a Friday, I'd recommend booking in advance as this place is very popular and it's easy to see why. Not my first visit to the WC and certainly won't be my last. Great service great atmosphere and the best cocktails in Newcastle in my opinion. This place also has a little sister place a stone throw away called the WC Gincloset tho it's even smaller inside.

Super original and cozy. Who knew that its previous use was a public toilet? Great atmosphere, delicious cocktails and extremely friendly staff. Don't hesitate to stop by and rest for a few minutes during your visit to Newcastle. Thank you!

Some public toilets converted into a pub. Something original and unique. Very good service and an extensive cocktail menu. Highly recommended, you can't go to Newcastle and not visit this bar.

We visited WC on a Tuesday evening - not for the first time - this bar has become a firm favourite of ours in Newcastle. We were served by Conor and Serena who were both incredibly friendly and couldn’t have done more to help us and make us feel welcome. We had fabulous old fashioneds and changed his normal recipe to suit our taste. We would thoroughly recommend WC and can’t wait for our next visit!!

We turned up here last night as a table of 18 without a booking and the team did an incredible job accommodating us. There was only two people working (Conor and Serena) who made us fabulous drinks, made us feel welcome and went above and beyond. Thank you so much for everything and we hope to see you soon!

Fun little place to visit, while we were passing. The staff were helpful and accommodating. Drinks were lovely, cosy atmosphere. Didn't venture here in the past, knowing what it used to be 🤫 so obviously a first time visit for this "lady".

My friend and I booked up for the Tipsy tea experience. We went yesterday and it was superb. The food was really tasty and very fresh. We enjoyed lots of delicious cocktails in our 90 minute slot. Staff all really friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing range of cocktails, best I've had in Newcastle. Prices definitely aren't the highest either. Genuinely something for everyone and they all taste amazing. It's a lovely quirky venue too underground in Bigg Market. Service can be a bit hit or miss sometimes but staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Such a hidden gem, if you didn't know it was there you could easily miss it! Great cocktails, great service (even when busy), and a lovely atmosphere!

They squeezed us in after we made a mistake with our booking, the staff were all so friendly. I didn't know what I wanted to drink so asked the bartender to get creative and give me something they'd have fun making. They only charged me a fiver for this simply incredible mocktail, one of the best I've ever had.

Wow what a venue!! Staff amazing from the moment we were great at the door til the moment we left. Knowledgable on all things wine and cocktails, always happy to recommend our second, third and fourth drink! Definitely recommend, beautiful venue for date nights or meeting with friends! Really poor experience. Only a short slot and we were ignored for 20 mins. Apparently staff hadn’t realise we had booked and thought we were a walk in, despite telling them we had a reservation. Tried to tell us to leave after 30 mins despite not even receiving drinks and making a reservation. Took staff another 15 mins for staff to get a bottle of wine (same stuff you get at Tesco) and two glasses. Only received the drinks after I complained and asked whether they would serve us or whether we should just leave. At least they gave a discount but it didn’t make up for the worst service I have received in a bar or restaurant in Newcastle.

Nice quirky bar, love the idea! However, it seems a bit rough around the edges & the cocktails were like something out of weatherspoons bogof range & high end prices!

This was an amazing bar, the location is perfect and the drinks were fantastic. All the cocktails were brilliant and was really reasonably priced considering how nice they were. The owner is a great guy who always kept checking up on us and how we were doing, would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a sophisticated, high quality bar in Newcastle.

Used to come here all the time, but in the past week EVERYTHING has changed. Very strange atmosphere and inconsistent quality of cocktails. Used to enjoy the cinnamon and rosemary cocktail but this time it tasted disgusting, far too sweet. Also, the bar stinks. Staff rude and seemed stressed and overworked. Everything smells.

Strange experience. Booked a table but ignored by the staff for half of our very short bookable time, who forgot we had booked. Ordered wine while watching everyone around us get their drinks, and when it arrived, the bottle looked suspiciously like a Tesco Finest one. Dripped on by condensation from the sky light the whole time.

Lovely little hidden gem in the centre of Newcastle. Cocktails and other drinks quite pricey but what you'd expect in the city. Drinks offer 241 though the week though. Would recommend booking, especially on weekends, as there are only 10-14 tables available. Fast friendly service. Ironically the actual toilets are very small but just maximising the floor space for the small space available. Good atmosphere with the noise echoing throughout the establishment. No draught beer, only bottles or cans. Would recommend the Lady in Red Cocktail 👌

Great cocktails in an ex public toilets. Easily missed if you don’t know where it is! Great drinks and excellent service. Gets really busy most weekends with people being turned away at the door - make sure you have a reservation!

Told was fully booked once inside despite numerous seats available then when pointed this out was told actually not fully booked but only 1 person on bar so would take half an hour to get a drink. So we left. Whoever owns this place needs to employ more staff. Shame as been before and was lovely.

Booking essential Stunningly done out and surprisingly spacious. You never feel closed in because the barriers between tables give you your own space and some noise cancelling from other parties. The chandelier and skylight are stunning. I only had the one cocktail - the lemony vodka one which was gorgeous but a short so over too quick 😂. Music was brill - think classy singalongs to suit all ages. We were two women in our 30s and enjoyed some of the 90s pop - natasha Bedingfield - haven't heard her in ages! Staff seem to be having a good time except for when having to turn people away. Maybe have a tablet at the door or some sort of sign up to say whether you have availability? This place is very sought after so booking is essential. I think the place needs a bit better management of walk ins vs bookings and timing. When we initially walked down the stairs in the rain there was a group blocking the doorway. I asked if they had a booking and they said no so we squeezed past them as we did for that time (and didn't want to get soaked) . This was quite a stressful way to start our visit as the staff member was at first fairly pushy till I said we had a booking for that time. They were lovely after that, but clearly they are having to turn lots of people away so they need a better system of managing keeping to time and getting booked people in and out of the rain (keep walk ins to one side out of the way? A sign if the place is full? ). The stairs are slippery in rain so please be careful! Glad I wasn't wearing heels 😂 Lovely place to sit and have a drink. Lovely management and staff. Recommend!

Perhaps my favourite cocktail bar in Newcastle. Feels exclusive in its small and quirky setting. Great deals during the day. Impressive and varied signature cocktails. Friendly service. Perfect for couples. Great location for a night out and close to shops during the day.

We came up from Manchester for the N-Dubz concert and after a quick Google search of bars of the area, we chose this one. We LOVED it, really quirky, staff were lovely and the drinks were fabulous. Would highly recommend 👌

Unique boozer, nice drinks and canny staff with a good sense of humour. Would recommend booking for longer than 45 minutes.

Good drinks but made to feel very unwelcome by a member of the team when using the toilet. You should be able to keep track of customers in such a small space and not challenge them in such a sarcastic and passive aggressive manner. Having ran sites much larger myself I can understand the need to be vigilant with who is just waking in to the premises to use the toilet but considering there were 20-25 people in attendance at that time it’s a pretty poor show. It’s a shame as the other team member behind the bar was very pleasant and helpful. We would have stayed for longer but if that’s how you make someone like myself feel for using the facilities, I can only imagine how more vulnerable/less confident people and minorities would be treated. Seems to sit at odds with you - virtue signalling? - pride menu. I’d suggest conducting some diversity and inclusivity training. Do better.

Brilliant little bar, walked straight past it without realising where it was. Hidden under the street. The two bar staff serving us were quick and friendly. Doing a great job at serving all the customers. The drinks tasted amazing, the room was small so make sure to book if you can. A few people turned up and were turned away due to not booking.

Great cocktails ….. proper cocktails I must emphasise which is not my normal tipple. Beer is only bottled no draught but, great wine’s and cocktails. They had a happy offer on too. Attentive and informative staff 👍

Very unwelcoming and pretentious for a public loo
