Amazing! Second visit here, but not the last, already planning to retirn in a couple of weeks. Had breakfast today, it was amazing, totally amazing, I didn't want it to end, fresh, tasty, well presented food. Staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and cheerful. Dog friendly too which is so important to us.

If you have an allergy beware, I had an allergic reaction to the coffee and the staff brushed me off, with no apologies or concern.

Disappointing bacon sandwich. Hardly any bacon and thick bread Toilets could do with a good clean/overhaul. Not particularly pleasant sitting outside near the traffic. Service was OK.

Great service, drinks and food Been several times and never disappointed. If you’re looking for gluten free or vegetarian / vegan options then the choice is excellent. Today I had the free burger with slaw and fries and it was delicious. The smoothie was freshly prepared and the coffee brewed to perfection. The pricing is very reasonable.

We have been back here several times over the past few months. We have had mainly breakfast/brunch. The restaurant is small but is clearly on demand. Everytime we go there is hardly anywhere to sit, but people are happy to queue. Well it’s worth the wait, the menu is of a wide range with a twist of English, America and Asia. I try and have something different whenever I go and I am never disappointed. This time, my partner had all day breakfast and I had some Asian dish with pork belly ( can’t remember the name and the menu online does not include this dish) I must say the pork belly was amazing, and so was the rest of the dish which had a kick to it. As usual, my partner enjoyed his full English. We also had milkshakes with added protein, these went doesn’t a treat as well. We will definitely be back!

Decided to call in for a bite to eat over lunchtime between Christmas and New Year and the place was packed but managed to get a table for two in the corner, phew! Both opted for the USA breakfast of Crispy fried bacon, free range ‘Block and Bottle’ Old Spot sausages, hash browns and American pancakes drizzled with maple syrup (normally don't join Hubby with all of this but so pleased I did, delicious!) Coffee to wash it all down was first class and service was excellent. Definitely one of our favourites and cannot wait to return.

Went for a bottomless brunch. Really good service. More of a cafe atmosphere and we felt like we stuck out a bit with being there for a boozy meal whilst people worked and sipped coffee. Food was okay - good with dietary requirements m. Chips were just the frozen kind. Bit of a let down good wise unfortunately.

Lovely coffee shop, Cinabun is to die for, coffee amazing and staff wonderful and friendly didn't feel weird sitting in on my own.

Had brunch here with a friend. My sausage sandwich was okay although the sausages were overcooked (for my taste). Wonderful sourdough bread, though. I had food envy when my friend’s eggs Benedict arrived; they looked wonderful. The best was yet to come, though; if you ever visit, you must, just must, have one of the home made cinnamon buns. With warm extra topping, too! I would have come back anyway because the staff are lovely and the atmosphere welcoming, but the buns were the clincher. A lovely little cafe.

They do a cracking english breakfast that is served until after the morning. Useful to know! Dog friendly and really friendly service. I always take friends here after a walk in the dene. Love it. Keep up the good work.

Lovely wee cafe where we had really tasty cakes and quality coffee at a very reasonable price.Relaxing atmosphere and great service-the perfect pit stop!

Went with my daughter in law and grandson because the place we were going to was closed. What luck! We had the American Breakfast, kale smoothie, vanilla milkshake, cappuccino and a pot of tea. Served outside, basking in the warm September Newcastle sun (Yes! Really). All items excellent as was the service. Well done

From when we went in to the café and sat down the staff were rude and seemed disinterested. When our food arrived it wasn't great, very basic, and was seriously overpriced. We didn't say anything as the staff were so rude and we knew there was little point, but we certainly won't be returning, especially as there is such a great choice of café's in the Jesmond area.

Had filling wraps here one Sunday, served promptly. Nice to sit outside. It's in a good area just for wandering around, close to Jesmond Dene.

I came here for a few hours to do some work on a Friday. It's a nice little cafe with cool decor and a friendly feel inside. Plenty of plug sockets too which was handy. The coffee was good and I was really pleased to see a fair amount of vegan products on the menu too. It was a shame that you had to often pay a fair bit extra for these products, the soy milk cost 50p more, which is a shame as it's a more environmentally friendly product so you are essentially having to pay more to care. Some of the other vegan options were more expensive but these were for speciality products, vegan black pudding for example is a rarity so I'd expect to, annoyingly but understandably, pay more, whereas with the soy milk that is a staple product now so I think that surcharge should be scrapped. The cafe also closed at 3, I'm not sure if that was just for Friday but I had another hour to wait before my partner needed picking up so had to find a way to entertain myself for that time. 3 seemed like a pretty early time to close for me, it also means next time I have to do a 1-4 wait I'll probably have to find somewhere else. I would return here but it wouldn't be my first choice if I'm honest. Scrap the surcharge for the milks and stay open a little later (around 5?) and I'd gladly return.

Lovely little cafe but at £9.50 for a breakfast I found it extremely over priced. We are here on a little family vacation so it might be normal in Newcastle but I don't think I have ever paid £30 for breakfast and that includes 1 adult and 1 child sharing and 1 child having a kids breakfast

Excellent take out menu and lovely food! Visited for the first time today and will be back soon! Definitely would like to try the set meals for two as they look fab!

My first visit today and it won’t be my last. I had a Coronation Chicken sandwich, which was very tasty indeed. Plenty of filling. Highly recommended.

It has been a couple of years since I had been here, in the past it was ok, nothing special but clean and edible. A recent visit showed that this cafe has gone down hill. The food is inedible, sausage very undercooked, when trying to talk to staff about this they are rude and don’t care. The place looks like it needs investing in as it’s a bit grim and maybe new staff/management. There here are far better places in the area to go that offer fresh well cooked food and pleasant staff I would stay away if you don’t want food poisoning!

Breakfast 10:30am Tuesday. One vegan, one not. Excellent all round, plenty of options for both, friendly polite staff, would definitely go again!

Came here for brunch and enjoyed delicious eggs Benedict , perfectly cooked. Lovely fresh coffee and home baking from attentive friendly staff . Will certainly return.

The food here is home cooked, wholesome and delicious. Just a shame, that the seating area is cramped and not a comfortable place to sit and enjoy such excellent food.

Cute little cafe in the lower side of Jesmond. While it is just a cafe, they do all day breakfast at a reasonable price and with so many options. The menu is a breakfast lovers dream, no matter if you're vegan or vegetarian or just want a classic full English! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a causal breakfast or lunch in Jesmond.

The service is so friendly, plenty of choice, food is delicious! Great food intolerance options. I had gluten free French toast and they took it seriously, which was so nice. The food arrived quickly. I recommend the strawberry smoothie and French toast.

It's a cafe so don't expect the world. But certainly our recent experience was good. Tasty soup for lunch and good service made our visit a success.

I spent a lot of time here during an extended stay in Jesmond. Some of the friendliest people I met in Newcastle and the vegetarian options were fantastic.

Great quality latte and cappuccino. Treat yourself to a scone for £1.95 well worth it. Pleasant staff and quick service. Thanks see you again soon

I know this place is not the most updated place but lot of options in the menu and all of them taste great. Sad this place getting busier so have to wait to get seats.

This cafe has several vegan options for food and drink. I had the vegan burrito and cinnamon latte and both were delicious. Would highly recommend!

Hangover breakfast was needed this morning and the food and service I received was extremely therapeutic.

Irrespective of the good food and service I am extremely disappointed with the way I have just been spoken to by the chef/owner of this (normally one of my favourites) cafe. I disagree with the 50p extra for gf bread (tiny slice instead of pitta) but this is not my main gripe-the way i was spoken to for genuinelly disagreeing with a very outdated policy of dealing with dietary requirements- was out of order. We have been going here for years but will not be returning in a hurry. Great staff/service/food normally so have come away extremely disapppointed

We popped in here as a family for a cooked breakfast (fill the student daughter up before heading home!) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Two full English, one French Toast and one pancakes with bacon and eggs - all very generous portions and good quality ingredients.

We were in Newcastle for a wedding. We ate brunch here on the Saturday morning. It was so good we came back for breakfast on the Sunday morning. My wife and I both had the American breakfast on both days. This consisted of amazing pancakes, the best cooked bacon and sausages I’ve had for some time and first class hash browns. The service was also excellent and so friendly. I would heartily recommend coming to this place. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Newcastle

Actually, I have been here for many times with my husband. We both love their breakfast. Pancake is amazing. Full English is amazing; portions is big enough; coffee is very good, their smoothie is good; Staff always very helpful and smiley and happy; price is like a but mid range; but normally about 10 pounds per person on average for breakfast with drinks; The only thing I want to suggest is the mushrooms; I think they can look better and be done better. It will be one of my regular to go breakfast. Very nice.

I started my Sunday full of optimism at the day ahead, ready to face the world after a hearty breakfast. My day in now ruined. At almost £8 I expected the full English to fill me to the brim, it now fills my bin. Furthermore the American pancakes were thicker than a bowl of oatmeal I tell you! Not your light and fluffy delights that I expected for nearly £7. I did NOT however expect chode like sausages the size of my little finger, pancakes blacker than fresh tar and bacon not even our lord and saviour Jesus Christ could resurrect!

After visiting on several weekends when the place was heaving, we took advantage of being off work to visit. Sitting outside was lovely - you wouldn’t think you were so near a busy road.

Now this is a fabulous example of HOW to do Gluten Free - take note all you establishments that cop out!

Birthday breakfast for 3 - Normally there is always a queue at this popular cafehowever today I arrived as a table was being vacated, RESULT (They knew it was my birthday!).

The best breakfast venue in Newcastle bar none! Hard to get a table due to those pesky students. they know value for money!

Great coffee and lunchtime food here . I’d thoroughly recommend the goats cheese Mediterranean sandwich . I’m not vegetarian but this was brilliant and I’d order it again in a flash . Fresh tasty and different . The staff are friendly and the whole thing works to provide an enjoyable dining experience. Very popular place , busy at lunchtime and outside tables in the spring sunshine .

Had the 1-pot-wonder which was goulash today.

We call into this cafe quite often after walking through Jesmond Dene from Heaton. - our visit is the reward for walking a few miles - defeats the object I know but worth it. The lemon meringue pie is to die for with either fresh cream or ice cream. We always get a warm welcome & good service from the very friendly helpful staff and walk home feeling like had a real treat. Would deffo recommend especially if visiting Jesmond Dene or Pets Corner as very close and easy to walk to and on public transport.

Me and a friend were after some breakie and came across this place by accident, we decided to go in and give it a try, first thing we noticed was the decor that was very tired. We sat down and ordered 2 full English breakfasts, waited a short time and got them, was ok but nothing special, was worth what we paid but no more, just a typical greasy spoon, great if you have a hangover.

I live just around the corner from Cafe Bar One, and I could not be more grateful! This is a fantastic wee cafe which is always at the top of my list of places to go for brunch in Newcastle. They have a great selections of healthy breakfast options and don’t miss anyone out with their yummy vegan choices. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, on my last visit there was a new lady that had started and I will never forget how wonderful she was, she made great conversation with us and even suggested places to visit in Northumberland. If you are looking for a sweet wee cafe in Newcastle, Cafe Bar One is the place to go.

I have been going here for years and love the food, the attention to detail and the friendly atmosphere. I am coeliac and have to eat gluten free, Cafe Bar One have always catered brilliantly for me and have even made me special things just for me! They have catered for a variety of events that I have attended - church events, friend's weddings, birthday and christenings and the food is always wonderful. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Had a very tasty and filling breakfast here, lots of choice and great food. Would definitely go back next time we're in the area.

Popped in last Sunday for some lunch before the Freedom on the Tyne event. Hadn't been for a while but the standard of food and service is as good as ever. The menu is really varied with all tastes catered for. I had a veggie breakfast and my partner had the meat pie. Both were excellent and the place has a really good buzz. It's always busy at weekend but there is a pretty fast turnaround of tables so give it a go if you're in that neck of the woods.

Visited with my daughter- she found you by looking for a brunch place.

I go here at least once a week. The food is great quality and reasonably priced, the staff are very personable and friendly and there is outside seating too. Vegan options for those that want it

Came here while my car was being repaired at Kwikfit just up the road. I had a chai latte and worked on my laptop as I waited. The food selection looked amazing on the menu and both the food and the drinks were very reasonable. All the girls working there that day were lovely and very helpful.

Finally got a chance to have lunch here, having heard great things from family and friends. The menu is extensive, the flavours are fantastic and the service superb. One thing to note is it's very compact in terms of tables being closed to each other.

Super little eating place that offers a very good selection of home cooked food and cakes and desserts. We call in here sometimes when visiting Jesmond Dene or walking home from town and there is always a warm welcome from the friendly staff. You can also choose to sit outside if the weather is hot.

Went to this cafe based on recommendations and because they do vegan food. Really enjoyed it, the breakfast was massive!!

We went today and tried out the vegan breakfasts.

The soups are delicious and arrive lovely and hot. It is a popular cafe at lunch time when I have been but always managed to get a table. The staff are quick to attend to your order It is a cafe nothing smart but the food is good and as they only make a batch of the special dish there is always another different dish to replace it on the menu board. If you choose the soup and sandwich I have always found it very filling and satisfying.

By far my favourite cafe in Newcastle. I have been three times, each time ordering a different dish, and the food has been consistently mouth-wateringly delicious. It caters for vegetarians and vegans with an incredibly varied menu with affordable prices and wonderfully affable staff. The window seats are heavenly, with the sun bursting through the window warming your back as though sat in a sun-kissed conservatory. I haven't tried the cakes yet, but having a look at their counter-full of inviting treats, including cream egg brownies, pecan pie and bread and butter pudding, I can only dream how finger-linkingly scrumptious they are! I quite frankly struggle to lunch anywhere else.

Great food including lunch any time in the afternoon. Great friendly service. good for groups or on your own. Not the cheapest but always good.

Needed a place for a coffee and a meet and found it on Google maps, looked no further! Welcome good, clean tables and sensibly priced coffees. Judging by the number of folk using the cafe, others clearly are of the same mindset too.

I love this cafe. Staff are friendly and the service is excellent. The food is fresh and prepared with local ingredients. It's wholesome and healthy and I never leave feeling disappointed.

Spot on every time! Only round the corner so very convenient for Sunday hangover brunching. Would recommend majority of menu. Only gripe would be sometimes the portion size is rather small, such as paninis, so often end up eating again once home!

Visited a few times but this time solo. Definitely best pancakes in the city- soft, slightly crispy and smothered in maple syrup as requested. Served with beautiful display of latte artistry in the form of a flat white. Service is fabulous and extremely friendly atmosphere. Definitely affordable and well worth a visit! Free parking too!

This is a really friendly local cafe who couldn't be more accommodating for a group of new mums who are breastfeeding and come with lots of prams and car seats! Tall guy particularly helpful at rearranging tables to help us - and the berry pancakes are gorgeous! We will definitely be back - thank you

Really friendly n nice cafe . Went there for breakfast . Daughter had pancakes :) which were amazing :) hot chocolate :) lovely n I had smoothie :) delicious . Really like the cafe but my only thing I need to say is th price of a hash brown :( £1 ( thought they might be an amazing home made hash brown but no they were slightly burnt underneath n looked like one out of Morrisons n tasted as well( not that I think Morrisons brand is horrible), but charging £1 for one .

This is one of my favourite spots in Newcastle. Hangover delight and lovely spot to catch up with friends. Staff are always welcoming and on a sunny day you will love sitting on the pavement outside. Eat the burrito! You won't regret it.

Lovely small cafe with great staff! Amazing waitress who didn't stop smiling the whole time. There was a slight wait but it was well worth it for the food which came. Really enjoyable visit and will be returning!

What a lovely venue, a jewel in a crown. Surroundings are calming, staff very attentive, food was amazing served hot an very nicely presented, very reasonably priced. piping hot tea and coffee, very special desserts on offer too. This was our 1st visit, and it won't be our last.

Visited today with some friends and our babies. Didn't once feel like we we were in the way (which is sometimes the case when there are a group of babies and prams). I can't eat dairy or soya and the staff were so friendly and helpful in suggesting options from the menu and helping me choose. This was really appreciated when a lot of places offer you a gluten free menu (I can eat gluten!) or a salad.

After missing out on this place on many of our Wednesday breakfast trips we looked in again and were pleasantly surprised with the facelift that has created additional space inside!

A convenient location I thought I'd try it out. The food was bland and unexciting. Visited again for a hot chocolate on a rainy day and again, was nothing special.

Easy parking outside; decor very basic; food options all very good.. interesting.. different.. healthy.. no alcohol.. very good service. We had Club Sandwich with 'fried potatoes" (chunky chips, kind-of), and Mediterranean 'sandwich'... both excellent. Seats could be a lot more comfortable for us oldies.

This cafe is lovely, lovely atmosphere with plenty places to sit. I ordered bacon pancakes and a caramel latte. I was disappointed because the syrup on the pancakes was poured over before I got them which meant that it was far too sugary for my liking -please put the syrup in a little pot :). Also, the caramel latte that I got was equally far too sugary, I work in a cafe myself and I know some people like them sugary some not, was just too sweet for me. My boyfriend got the full breakfast and this looked amazing. Would go again.

This is a small and busy place but no wonder. Whether full fryup breakfast or trendy quinoa vegetarian salad the quality is what each eater would expect. The service is also excellent. There is two hours free parking opposite and a Kwikfit nearby for friendly repair service. Breakfast was much better cooked than at our posh hotel down the road and for 25% less.

Full works and an Americano. Bacon, sausages and black pudding were superb. Would have preferred brown toast or offered the option; asked for no mushrooms and not offered an additional piece of the menu. A little pricey for amount of food, but appreciate quality of local products.

First in on a Saturday morning. Pleasant waitress if a little slow. Had the zero carbs breakfast which was very nice. It could've done with a bit of draining as the ham was swimming in the tomato juice. All needed seasoning but tasty enough. I think the coffee is a little expensive.

We visited here for lunch on a Saturday and it was heaving which is always a good sign! The tables were never empty and you can book in advance if you don't want to wait.

We went for a late breakfast and it was fantastic. The breakfast burrito was delicious, filled with perfect scrambled eggs, soft potatoes and yummy bacon. The salsa was perfect. My husband had the huevos and could not have been happier. We had a short wait for our table but it was well worth it.

This place has a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and pretty good food. However I don't visit that often. They serve all day breakfast which taste fine but the extraction is bad so I've always come out with clothes smelling of grease. (There is no proper barrier between the kitchen and dining area.)

We went to this neighbourhood cafe for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. A lovely full English breakfast with good quality bacon and sausages. The place was buzzing and there was a little wait for a table but once we were seated, we were served by friendly and efficient staff who made sure we had everything even though they were really busy.

I have been to this cafe in Jesmond several times now and every time I have went I have been pleasantly suprised by both the quality of the food and the hospitality of the staff. This cafe feels like one of the rare places where customer service is being given as high a priority as the food with staff being knowledgable about the food and more than happy to give advice.
