Excellent quality sandwiches and authentic Italian sweet pastries. The coffee is incredible too. The prices are very reasonable too. If you've never been, try the pistachio cannoli. Superb!!!

Cannoli are lush, wish they were bigger. Sarnies are brill. Good bread options, all thr trimmings to go with it. First time had takeaway. Second time sat in. Coffee is canny too

Gorgeous food, the selection is huge. The pizza is amazing, sandwiches are lovely, but the showstopper has to be the tray bakes 😍 takes a little while for takeaway orders to be prepared as they are all made fresh but 100% worth the wait.

No dogs allowed so was told I could sit outside . Waited 15 , no-one came out to take my order . Looked in the window several times only to be mocked by a member of serving staff !! Very rude !! Will not appempt to visit again !!

I was recommended this by my son who went there with his wife to eat. They are meat eaters and I am vegan. They didn't have anything vegan that I wanted, in fact they didn't have much vegan at all which was disappointing. I had tea which came with soya milk. My wife enjoyed it but she is vegetarian.

Always heaving and you can see why. Food is delicious, service is nice and quick, good all around.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich here a couple of weeks ago. It was wonderful and huge. The coffee was great, and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I have been back, and the pastries were very nice also.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon hoping to get a bite to eat for lunch. Plenty of seats to choose from. At the counter, there's almost too much choice - which then translates into a poor execution. We ordered two sandwiches - a D&D and a BBQ chicken. The D&D looked the part, well filled and presentable - but was dry and tasteless. The BBQ Chicken was a fillet placed in the centre of a long roll with some sauce and cheese. It was barely warm leaving me left pretty unsatisfied. The roll was described as a Ciabatta but was in fact just a long soft white roll. Unfortunately - the place left us feeling deflated and not wanting to come back. I've heard good things about the place but maybe we were just unlucky.

Absolutely beautiful chicken salad for lunch which was of very generous proportions. The kids menu for £3.50 was an absolute bargain too. My daughter had pasta bolognaise, a drink and a chocolate chips shortbread and is still stuffed an hour later. My coffee was excellent too. Special mention too to our waitress who's name I didn't catch but who was very friendly and smiley.

We were in the area and needing some lunch. Not knowing the area we found Dean and Danielas on Google Maps. We were so lucky! The lovely friendly welcome and the really delicious and very reasonably priced meal was just perfect - everything we needed and wanted, so thank you so very, very much.

Bacon & sausage stottie and a Cappuccino £6.05 Sat outside nice seats a bit of shade. Cappuccino one of the best I've had , bacon a nice brown and a good sausage topped with brown sauce. Set me up for the day.

Myself and my 2 children visited today whilst waiting for a tyre change at a neighbouring garage. I’ve not been before, and the recent reviews didn’t exactly blow me away, but decided to give it a go. I’m glad we did. There is plenty of space inside, more than I realised, and there was a light buzz from the filled seats. We were served straight away by a friendly member of staff, who was happy to wait whilst my kids assessed the full extent of sweet treats that were available! With choices of cakes, tray bakes, numerous cannoli’s as well as scones, then choices of teas, coffees, fruit juices and fizzy drinks, there was plenty of choice for everyone! We settled on a chocolate cake, crunchie biscuit slice and a scone with jam and cream. I had a double shot mocha whilst the kids had apple and orange juice. All in all, it came to £15.70. Which doesn’t seem too bad considering the juice drinks were £2.65, so a pretty good price. Our food and drink was brought to our table, and everything tasted great. The coffee was lovely, and is definitely not just instant as has been previously described. The beans were brewed as I was paying, so I can be sure if this. Lovely place to visit. Killed an hour of our time; and the kids were happy. We would come back again.

the layout of service doesn't seem that efficient. there is plenty staff ready to serve but 1 person does everything, (takes order, makes coffees, makes sandwiches, takes payment) this makes the wait much longer than it should be as they can end up actually waiting to make coffee, use the grill etc. if they had one person on each station and an efficient ticketing order system then the speed would dramatically increase. seems like a no brainer? nice bacon stottie

Slow, sloppy, rude staff … Abominable service from pathetic staff who would rather chat in the back of the cafe and hide out of site! Food is terrible and almost inedible. Tried to give this place a chance to become better on 2 orb3 occasions. But sadly it just seems to get worse. My partner had food poisoning from there last month, so never been back since! Give this place a miss if you like your coffee and food served with a smile and not a visit to the hospital! Don’t know how this place hasn’t been closed by a health inspector yet! The staff changes regularly… no effing wonder!

Coffee used to be lovely, but now both the ordinary and decaf pretty tasteless, watery milk, waste of money really, better sticking with tap water! Menu just the same. Seems quite a turnover in staff.

My first visit, it was for coffee and a cake. Coffee was delicious & the rocky road was scrumptious. I did look at the pizzas and all of the other food, the smell was great and everything looked lovely. Very friendly and polite staff. Definitely worth a visit.

This place used to be amazing but unfortunately a supplier bakery closed down and its dipped now. The sausage rolls were out of this world. Struggled to decide what to have this time and ended up settling for next best. One of the girls was quite impatient with us which was off putting. It's a real shame as we used to head from Gateshead for the food but we're not hurrying back now.

Please stock some takeout cups for coffee tho , I felt a little rude taking my cup outside and leaving it for someone to clean .Easter egg hunt was cute for the kids , I found one in my room but left it for someone else who had kids with them . A few years ago we were so impressed by Dean and Danielas that when we were visiting our local relatives 80th birthday we booked a table for 8 today. The service from start to finish was absolutely appalling and unfortunately we will never be returning. We had also for Xmas given our local relatives gift vouchers for Dean and Danielas. I don’t know if the staff that run it have now changed but we have never been so rudely talked to, our plates were dirty, we tread in food on the floor left from previous customers, our order was messed up, the cakes were stale, the pizza was tasteless. We were told that the bruschetta could have the cherry tomatoes taken off for the children but then were told they had to have them- which created a tearful situation for younger members of the family. When we said we had booked a table for 8 the staff member glared at us and took us to a table with 3 seats and then told us to find other chairs! When we pointed out the plates were dirty they didn’t even apologise and it was made very clear that everybody was an inconvenience to them. We have never written a google review before but don’t want someone else to experience what we just did. A smile and politeness cost nothing and we were made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable on what should have been a family celebration.

Nice Salads, Nice cakes. We Picked Magereta Pizza it was warmed up put in a bag all the topping what there was of it stuck to paper bag, no flavor, no taste, not much cheese. the worst pizza i have tasted will not be going back soon.

Dean and Daniela's is a gem of a cafe. The food is always top notch and and a good price. The staff are friendly, helpful and always serve with a smile. There is space to eat outside ( when the weather is warm enough). A reasonable amount of free parking nearby too. Very handy for Paddy Freeman Park.

Nice food and service, shame about the toilets. Always makes me worry about back of house when I see this. I'd eaten by then and the food was adequate and tasty. Service was friendly and accommodating.

Before my visit on Saturday, I'd not been here for years. I wish I'd not returned and just kept my happier memory of when it was a nice place. The staff were horrible and genuinely made me feel unwelcome. The food isn't that great either. It feels like they believe customers should be honoured to be a customer and they don't have to try and deliver and degree of customer services. I'd go to Monsieur Crepe Cafe which is just 5 mins down the road. They at least appreciate the business.

Been coming here for years but i can see a slight decline. Its always been expensive but you did get quality. That quality's is slipping. The price for x2 sandwich's, x2 330 ml drinks and x2 caramel slices at £21.70 is abysmal. The way the country is at the minute, D&D will be losing more and more customers if there quality isn't back up there to try justify its heavy pricing.

Food to be fair was plentiful, but doesn't translate to quality. The sweet chilli bruschetta base was soggy. The chicken pesto pasta was heavily flavoured with sun dried tomatoes and salami which over powered the full dish. The sautéed potatoes were the highlight. Even with a drink still at £16.25 was relative good value for money. Staff very friendly and surrounding pleasant.

If we can get a parking space we try to come here every time I am at the Freeman Hospital just around the corner. The breakfasts are beautiful! Staff are friendly & it is always busy here which speaks for itself!

Visited this morning for breakfast with a pal. The young lady who served us was friendly, professional and courteous. 10 out of 10. We both chose the butchers sausage sandwich. I asked for some onions which wasn’t a problem. Coffee was good quality and piping hot. Service was quick. While the sausage was tasty, the ciabatta wasn’t toasted and was actually chilled, as if it had perhaps recently been defrosted, or stored in a refrigerator. Either way, it wasn’t served in a way which improved the breakfast experience! While the atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant, unfortunately the air quality is blighted through lack of adequate ventilation. The smell of cooked / fried food was evident on our clothing after we left. Maybe the kitchen extraction filters need a service. Reasonable value at around £6 per head. I’ll probably return, but We’ll wait for better weather and sit outside.

First visit as had been recommended, went with a friend just before lunch. Good choice of food available and very reasonably priced. Good choice of meat & vegitarian. We both opted for a topped ciabatta style bread. I chose sweet chilli chicken and my friend chose vine tomato and cheese. They were enough to share if you wanted a lighter bite and we both couldn't finish ours. It was tasty enough but both agreed they could have been served a bit hotter than they were.Lady that served us was helpful and polite. Would definatley go again

Gone downhill. I visited last week after going on a walk and purchased the D&D Club sandwich. Unfortunately, the chicken escalope in the sandwich was extremely dry and tough, and the bread didn't taste fresh. To add to this, the coffee wasn't too great. Unfortunately, I could have got something for half the price and better at Greggs, or somewhere similar!

Gorgeous Italian cafe, our daughter is in the Freeman hospital and a nurse recommended it to us. Lovely little place, very busy, the food all looked amazing and tasted delicious. Will definitley return.
