An absolute haven for food at anytime of day, especially breakfast. Freshly made to order, freshly made coffees, teas. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Relaxed atmosphere, I could sit n watch the world go by all day eating toast and drinking coffee. Without a rest Used twice during nearby hospital visit. Will be more than happy to return.

We enjoy visiting here for breakfast when we are in the area. The staff are always very welcoming and it is a dog friendly venue which I think is great. The coffee is always good and the sweet treats look delish. The food has been a little hit and miss at times, with the full English breakfast being really enjoyable but the pancakes being a little overdone and dry on occasion. Overall though I will keep coming back as the location is very convenient and you can usually find a seat to whip out your laptop and do some work whilst enjoying a latte! I also love that breakfast is served all day.

Nice little cafe, you get half a cup of coffee and half a cup of foam which is a shame for those who want a full cup. Me personally I can never drink a full cup so worked for me. Shame there's no proper gluten free items, there's things but all cross contaminated due to being out with everything else. Wouldn't be too hard to keep those separate. I'm happy to return again, give it another shot. But I'll make sure I go after I've eaten.

Visiting my mother in Newcastle and was looking to find somewhere local, so as to not lose time with my mother before travelling back down south. Got recommended Willis cafe and what an amazing cafe! Lovely food and very well cooked and presented. Great portion size. Loved the mushroom soup. Just right texture and tasted amazing - I am a great lover of mushrooms, so as soon as I saw it on the menu, my choice of meal was selected. My mother had the all day breakfast and that looked amazing too. You want the best for your mother and I could not ask for more. The service was great and staff interacted with us with a humerus gesture when we commented on how beautiful the tea cups and saucers were. A great place for all - wheelchair friendly (entrance is so wheelchair friendly) and a dog friendly location. This business is so on the ball - there for those in wheelchairs and those with dogs. A great time with mum in a great location. Will be back again when visiting Newcastle. I may even go for the famous Mark Toney ice cream next visit as it was a childhood favourite. Well done Wilis cafe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lot of reviews seemingly inpatient when this place gets busy. Went on a more quiet Tuesday afternoon. Had a great bacon bap with lots on lots of crispy bacon and excellent coffee served in lovely crockery and teapots. Eyeballed the doughnuts on the way out so will have to come back. A little disappointed really as it looks a lovely place but staff are a little not too keen to welcome customers. There were 3 staff who all were around the till and serving area and I believe the manager who at the time was taking an order. I did wait for quite a while and was asked by a lovely lady if I was taking out and I said yes but then someone from a table came over and jumped the queue whilst the lady at the till actually proceeded to take his order. So judging from that I won’t be coming back any time soon. I am patient generally but this was disappointing first approach.

Unwelcoming. Stood at the door I acknowledged when it wasn’t busy. My friends hash brown was missing and my pancakes didn’t have maple syrup, they were dry, tasted funny and were burnt. I complained and got a ‘hmm’ from the server. Paid £9.50, no refund, no apology. I had one bite and couldn’t eat it. I hate complaining when it’s a small business, but they shouldn’t be serving food like this and charging those prices.

Very disappointing. We walked in and it wasn’t busy, yet we weren’t acknowledged for around 2 minutes. I asked the staff if we should sit wherever and they yes and pointed to the menus. I ordered the bacon and maple pancakes, and my friend ordered a bacon sandwich with a hash brown. My pancakes came very burnt, with no maple syrup and were dry. They had a horrible taste. My friends sandwich came without hash brown. The server asked if I was finished, after I had only eaten one bite. I told her it wasn’t very nice and it was burnt to which she said ‘hmm’ and took my dish away but didn’t say anything, no apology. I was very disappointed since I spent £9.50 on a meal that I couldn’t even eat.

Light, airy and welcoming. Dog friendly. Stripped wooden floors with sage green paintwork. First impressions very nice. I thought the food was on the expensive side, even taking into consideration it’s location in the unfathomably extortionate area of Jesmond. Some wonderful cakes on offer. I paid £8.50 for a sausage and fried egg roll with a breakfast tea. Probably the best value for money on the menu. It was very nice though! Everything looked very clean. Unfortunately I did have to ask to exchange my cup as it had lipstick on it. I did also notice a member of staff constantly biting nails and touching facial piercings and hair. Although not handling food was handling cutlery and crockery. Staff were happy and friendly! Sadly disappointed overall.

Served 2 knives with cake asked for a fork and given 1 for 2 of us. Cake to take away put in a bag with no respect and tossed about like a butcher bagging cut meat before they tie the top. Decaf coffee was like hot milk. The latte cake and brownie were lovely, millshake for £5 not very chocolaty but saying that, my daughter enjoyed it. A bit disappointed to be honest so will not be spending my pennies here in future.

I have been here a few times with my daughter. We have always had a lovely coffee with a gorgeous cake or pastry (the 'free from' cinnamon bun is really yummy!) but have not yet tried any hot food. On each occasion we have never been disappointed. Thankfully, in this cafe we have found there are a few alternatives choices, ie vegan or gluten free (my daughter and I are both gluten and dairy intolerant). However, a couple more of 'dairy free' choices would be gratefully welcomed especially by us! The staff are very nice and helpful and the atmosphere is cosy and warm. Been here a few times and generally, a good experience with all staff, food and drinks, absolutely acceptable. No complaints. However today, we shared our breakfast experience with dogs? I’m not a dog lover I admit but I don’t hate them either! I often walk and “tend” all the necessary requirements of walking my daughters dog! I just found the three dogs that were brought into, what is quite a small cafe area, a bit too much. Surely with that amount of food being ordered and provided, you should be able to enjoy a meal without dogs moving about and sniffing around all the tables. One even being “fed” scraps at a table? We looked and wondered what would happen, if everyone in the cafe “at that time,” decided to bring their dog with them? I don’t know if it’s described as a “dog friendly” venue as some are these days but I think a specific area near the door perhaps, should be set aside? The mutts won’t stop me going in but if I have the choice, I won’t. And there are plenty of other seats around the area to be had.

This is the second time we have visited, and it will be our last. On the first occasion what we wanted to order was not available and this happened again on our second visit. Both visits were mid morning so it was disappointing that the food we wanted to order was already unavailable by that time. We ordered the blueberry pancakes, and the bacon and maple syrup pancakes in the end which were both burnt and flavourless. The bacon pancakes were dry and had no maple syrup. The food prices are set to that of a Michelin star restaurant however, delivered by the standard of a 4 year old chef. We found some members of staff to be unwelcoming and quite rude, similar to the plates food that were put in front of us, which made the visit worse. I’m sure anyone reading this review can start to see the pattern here. The coffee and fresh orange juice were lovely however, and the baked goods inside the cabinet looked tasty as well. We thought the price of the food was very expensive, especially with how it tasted, and the service was even more disappointing so we will not be returning.

Cute place and sweet waitresses! The interior was nice. We sat upstairs which was a lot calmer than downstairs. We had the chai tea latte which was really tasty. For food we ordered the eggs Benedict, a salmon bagel and the pumpkin chorizo soup. The eggs Benedict were great. The bagel was nice, but simple in terms of flavour. The soup was interesting, it was tasty. The only thing I would change about it is adding in the bits chorizo after blending the soup. Overall a cute place, would recommend!

I can’t fault this place. From the moment we walked in (with no table reservation) to the moment we left, we were treated well. The food was good and we cleaned our plates! Service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. Lots of families. Would recommend.

Fantastic live group on , amazing atmosphere and welcoming staff. A place to come and chill with your family dog or a place to let your hair in this first class pub.

Our favourite place for coffee, a pause from the crowds, meeting up with friends, and checking out the new film releases. The staff are fabulous - this week we're totally devastated to learn that the wonderful Laura is moving on. Laura will be missed by so many Tyneside regulars, who rely on her calm, kind, attentive, thoughtful, good natured, welcoming warmth and friendliness. Thank you so much for all your years of hard work - both in the coffee rooms and in the café Laura. You have made our day so many times, simple acts of kindness all build up to make an enormous difference to everyone's lives. With love and best wishes from Julie and Dave (cappuccino and green tea) 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Rassano is one of the best baristas in town. He is quite professional. The cappuccino he made is really good.
