Great and diverse choice of sandwiches and super service - fresh ingredients and lovely scones. Service friendly and efficient.

DO NOT go here. After getting a sandwich from this place I developed severe food poisoning that lasted for several days. The food was prepared without gloves and the surfaces were extremely unclean. On top of this the food must have not been kept properly and became bacteria infested. The sandwich was not worth it and could have made a much better one myself. 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

We loved this little place. Great choice of food and cakes, and the best iced coffee I’ve ever had. Staff really friendly and helpful too. Would definitely go back!

Basically decorated, catering mainly for the takeaway crow, pricing is exceptionally reasonable and the food in general is of a good standard, however the staff are very nice and helpful, giving the place an old worldly atmosphere, that others lack, Coffee/ tea are of a good standard as are the sandwiches

You could be forgiven for missing Country Whey - it lives in a little street of shops and cafés, but it's off the beaten track, and it feels like a local gem. I've stopped in several times for sandwiches, and they're always fresh and made to order. I think I've settled on the Tuscana as my favourite. They have loads of options, or you could pretty much pick and choose whatever you want - just like homemade, but better!

sweet little shop that makes fresh sandwiches to order, sometimes you have to wait a while but certainly worth the wait. A few tables inside for your convenience. Would recommend and would return sadly closes at 3pm on a sat.

Great sandwiches. A better deli than the Little Hippo (although the italian job at the Little Hippo beats the equivalent at Country Whey). The sandwiches here are lovely - get to make your own which is a bonus (and how it should be in a deli!). Recommend for a quick lunch - you get a lot for your money as the bread rolls are huge! So always wins my vote. Also feels more relaxed than counterparts like the Little Hippo. Would definitely recommend Country Whey over Willi's (on same street). Recommend every time.

Urge everyone to try this place in Jesmond!! Such a wide range of choice and flavours to try! Especially recommend the Chicken Saltimbocca!
