Camber Coffee in Newcastle upon Tyne

Really lush food! Would recommend to anyone in Newcastle to try this place out, the food is lovely and the price is even better!

Lovely coffee but had to wait 35 minutes for food, despite only one other table in. When it arrived the toast wasn’t very toasted and the rest was dull. Looks good, didn’t deliver. Took far too long, was ready to leave and go elsewhere

A brilliant place to study with friends, especially in the summer when you can sit outside. Lovely staff who bring drinks to the table even if sat outside - incredibly affordable too. Will definitely be coming back with family and friends.

Dropped in for hot food, warmly welcomed by the lady at the counter. I ordered then sat downstairs, there were seats available upstairs too. Quite nice small breakfast (the bigger full English is £8); I would definitely like to come again. I didn't feel rushed and the service was lovely. There is GoDigital_Wifi available and clean toilet facilities upstairs. Only points were the beans were lukewarm and the tea came a bit earlier than the food.

I visited Camber Coffee with a group of friends and was very pleasently suprised to find a really good selection of vegan cake options. I have a dairy allergy and struggle to find anything I can have in a lot of cafe's. The vegan cinnamon swirl was very nice. I'll definately be going back.

Called in for a lunch and coffee with my dog. The staff were really welcoming and happy to see my dog. I ordered food and a drink which was a good price and very enjoyable. The lady gave my dog a big bowl of water and when I asked if I could have a small piece of ham to wrap around his medication, she brought some ham and sausage. The lady had a chat with me about her dogs and was really friendly. I would recommend this place especially if you have your dog.

Popped in for some lunch and to do some studying, had a gorgeous chicken and chorizo panini and really well priced! Lovely staff as well, can’t wait to go back:)

I used to love this place but the whole atmosphere was odd last time I was in. Staff were lovely though hence the stars! Not a fan of the layout and tables downstairs Upstairs used to be a service area and it has nice tables and everything still but felt off. Felt less like an artisan cafe and more like a Wilkos cafe or something.

This coffee shop has an excellent location in the city centre. It has pleasant interior space and friendly staff. The coffee was good quality and two flat whites cost £6.

I’ve been here 3 times now, twice on a Saturday and once during the week. I find midweek to be th e best time to go. Staff are friendly enough and are constantly doing things and not standing around chatting waiting for customers to approach the counter. I ordered a panini and cuppa and received my cuppa first. I would prefer both together because my tea was lukewarm by the time the panini came. But service is pretty good.

This cafe looks like it is the process of permanently shutting. Untidy, with furniture and cleaning supplies scattered across the building. The upstairs cafe area appears to have been abandoned. Because I wanted to sit upstairs I was told had to wait for my coffee and take it upstairs myself. The mens toilet was out of order too. Coffee was OK, pastries appear to have been bought from Tesco or similar. Pretty poor. Unlikely to return.

Went in for just a coffee and ended up with a skinny latte and a slice of delicious gluten-free carrot cake. Homemade I’m sure. Nice little place run by a slight woman with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Just like everyone owning or running a small business at these times it’s not easy to ramble on. Keep up the great work and people will continue to come.

Quick visit for a coffee and a scone. Coffee was good, scone less so. They're very friendly and the service is quite good. Will return to see what it's like longer term

This Coffee Shop has an excellent choice of Gluten Free cakes and sandwiches plus choice of milks. Staff are very friendly and customers are made to feel as if they count. Plus the GF cakes are the same price as normal cakes. Usually GF cakes etc cost far more. I can highly recommend a visit. Also it is dog friendly.

Fancied calling in today for lunch whilst we were in Newcastle.

I actually created an account just to write this review because of how impressed I am. I was doing a series of challenges with friends where it was a race to do them all, this included going into a Starbucks and asking for directions to the nearest Starbucks and making up a 20 second handshake with a stranger. One of the challenges was to order a drink without saying any actual words in any language. I went in here knowing it would be nice and quiet and probably less embarrassing. I acted as ignorant I had difficulty speaking (as to look like less of a rude/idiotic person) as my friend descretely filmed. The staff member taking the orders was extremely understanding and picked up on the Hot Chocolate I was trying to order immediately. The drink was stunningly good according to my friend (who drinks a lot of Hot Chocolate) and will definitely come back here again. If anybody has any speech impediments or anything like that, I strongly recommend this place.

It's a shame, with the growing number of vegans, that this place has eschewed its vegan status. I won't be going back, and that's sad, as it was such a nice place.

I’ve been coming here a while and I have to say the coffee is amazing (flat white) the food which I have only tried a couple things off the menu I really enjoyed it, it’s fresh clean and healthy. I would highly recommend this to any one who’s visiting or even living in Newcastle, I WILL decently be back.

Came here on an Instagram recommendation and it was amazing. Vegan sandwiches and cakes, as well as 3 or 4 milk alternatives. Beautiful oatly flat white. Right in the city centre with a trendy cafe in a fitness store.

Took a break from shopping in Camber Coffee. The food was beautiful and smoothies were delicious. Plus a choice of soya and coconut milk as well as cows milk. Will definitely return.

This is the best place for vegan eats on a Sunday. Awesome coffee. The olive and sun dried tomato tapenade sandwich was unbelievable and to top it off we were treated to a smoothie each, some rosemary and herb sourdough with cream cheese and garlic amazingness. I've been to Camber Coffe a couple of times now and the food has always been amazing. I went for breakfast this week and my hubby had the vegan olive sausage sandwich which was delicious and I had porridge with oat milk which was equally as good. The muffins are great too and I'll definitely be back to try the brownies. The staff are very friendly and helpful

This place is amazing. The VEGAN hot chocolate is the best in Newcastle and comes with marshmallows and whipped cream. The staff are super super friendly.

My teenage daughter told me this was the best place for coffee in the Newcastle City centre and I can see why. My Americano was tasty in the way Americanos usually aren't - rich, complex coffee that went down nicely. And there is so much space, high ceilings and enough room to relax even though it is right in the middle of town. The Barrista was friendly and chatty and it was all just right. This place is above a cycle store and it is worth the trouble of going through the shop and upstairs.

Popped in with my sister for a light lunch and really enjoyed the food. Neither of us are vegan but both of us often prefer vegetarian food. We both ordered toasted sandwiches which were delicious, and came with a lovely little pot of side salad. If there were one criticism, it was that there wasn't a huge amount of choice, but maybe it was just the timing of our arrival. I actually fancied a salad but there wasn't one available.

It is a hidden gem right in the middle of town. Through a bike shop and up the stairs you enter a world of coffee serviced with passion (and fee bites at the moment) and the most delicious salads that ever graced a happy diner's plate! The food is very attractive to look at and tastes smashing. I've been a few times and the staff are just the ticket.

I called in for lunch with a friend and we both loved Camber Coffee. The venue is great, and very handy for public transport, as it's a stone's throw from the Monument. Inside, it's light and airy, with comfortable seating at large tables. The coffee is excellent and there's a good selection of food, especially if you're vegan. I had the rad Thai salad and really enjoyed it. Everything is fresh and served with a smile. Prices are reasonable and the staff are a great bunch. They're super friendly and happy to advise on ingredients. Thanks Mike and team. I'll be back!

Really lovely setting, and friendly staff but the espresso was so bitter it was almost undrinkable. In common with other independents in Newcastle, they need to look again at the grind for smaller shots and produce something smoother. Pret and even Greggs produce a more drinkable espresso.

This cafe is superb. Great location, excellent selection of food (especially good for vegans) with friendly staff. The coffee is excellent and supplied by Pilgrim's on Holy Island

Camber Coffee is one of the best coffee shops in Newcastle; hands down. The coffee is absolutely fantastic, and the service is second to none. The staff are sociable and talk to you in a polite and interesting form. Being situated above Start Fitness is a unique and beneficial feature as it provides a distinctive atmosphere that no other coffee shop nearby (that I know of) does. Overall it is an excellent place to visit and i cannot recommend enough. Hats off to everyone there, and best of luck for the future.

Really impressed with Camber Coffee - they have it all! Great good, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff! I had their cheese, pesto and tomato sandwich heated up, one of the best vegan sandwiches I have ever had and a fantastic vegan cheese. Will be back to sample more of the menu!

Situated in a large space above a sports shop this cafe has a cycling theme but with a quirky twist. There's plenty of room between tables making it a good place to sit and chat with friends but with a very large centre table for bigger groups if needed. Very good coffee and a range of interesting savoury and sweet food. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Its good to find an independent coffee shop with style in the centre of town.
