Cog and Wheel in Newcastle upon Tyne

Went for Sunday 'roast dinner' - the veggie/vegan option was very disappointing. Three vegan sausages with about a heaped serving spoon of mash and 2 small roasties, 2 sprouts and some undercooked carrots and parsnips. The gravy was gloopy and clearly from a packet of granules. The veg option is an afterthought with no real thought put in - at least do a nut roast or a pie rather than some frozen sausages. Probably the most underwhelming sunday lunch I've had in Newcastle

We were looking forward to the Sunday meal - but what a disappointment. Very cold food, almost raw veg, really long wait - the mains had to be sent back for reheating, as did the desserts. The toilets were really dirty. The waiting staff were nice though but we won't be back

Loved the decor and the servers were so friendly-they could obviously see me and my friends were hanging! We all ordered roasts, I ordered the vegetarian one. Mine came out 5/10 minutes later than everyone else’s. The gravy was globby and lukewarm, and the portion wasn’t massive compared to others-it felt a bit cheeky to charge the same price when certain things were excluded-just lob on a bit more mash to replace the Yorkshire pudding or something idk. One of my friends also thought the portions weren’t all equal, but we were probably just being hungry ill greedy hungover pigs. It was also quite late so maybe limited stock? Despite this I’d say we had a great time, the food tasted really good apart from the gravy and the vibes were chill. Would for sure go back, maybe go earlier and opt for something other than a vegan roast, didn’t really feel like a roast without a Yorkshire, the hangover really impacted my decision making there.

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch in this little gem of a place. Was recommended by friends so decided to give it a go and was not disappointed. Lovely food and plenty of it! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing not to like and will definitely go back again.

Had a great Sunday dinner experience. Cool location plus a chilled vibe, along with great customer service and staff! Had a yummy beef diner with some sneaky pigs in blankets! Will definitely go back :-)!

Fab pub dinner here as we were staying in an air b&b relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, steak pie and chicken burgers were lovely 😊

Found this bar purely by chance as we were staying in a hotel nearby . The decor is decent and the prices for a beer were very good , there was a mix of age groups and a nice atmosphere . The thing that stood out was the service at the bar . They were very welcoming and friendly especially the tall girl with dark hair I should have got her name . There is a large tv showing sports and we will Definetly visit here again the next time we are in Newcastle .

The Sunday roast lunch was really tasty. It was a good portion with fresh quality ingredients. Definitely value for money. Nice atmosphere and really friendly staff. Service charge was added to the bill ( I prefer leaving cash tips) but the waitress pointed the service charge out on the bill multiple times for full transparency which we really liked. Only improvement would be the cauliflower cheese as it was a little watery.

I recently went to the cog and wheel to celebrate a family members birthday for bottomless brunch. The service was quick and friendly snd the dtaff constantly made sure we had drinks . The food was lovely and arrived promptly. I would highly recommend and can’t wait to return .

We went for a bottomless brunch on a Saturday and I can say that this was the best one I've been to. The service was amazing, had gluten free options for me. Super friendly staff. Oliver, Jake, Orlaith and Cai were great with the cocktail service.

Don’t waste your time or money going here , food awful , warmed up and soggy , staff very unprofessional, worst place I have been to supposed to have been a nice evening out !!!

Went in Sat 3pm in November with group of 12 for bottomless brunch. Place was already chocka when we arrived. Took 30 mins to place our orders. Staff clearly overwhelmed. All the burgers looked very sad like patties were just slapped on. Taste is so-so....

Myself and 5 of my friends visited Cogg and wheel yesterday for a bottomless brunch and it was fantastic. We had Ritchy serving us and he was great! Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.
