The Collingwood Arms in Newcastle upon Tyne

Visited a couple of times during a weeks stay in Jesmond. The beer was top notch and the bar staff very friendly. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer.

Excellent pub that sells food is my favourite combination. In a era where pubs try so hard with their food they forget what it takes to be a pub. The thing is here it offers very good food, with a super selection of tasty burgers yet is a pub first. For me it’s actually a pleasant experience becoming harder to find these days

Met a friend here for a night out, the person who served us had very poor customer service skills. We felt unwelcome from first going up to the bar. The only upside was it gave us a good laugh as we each reported back on our treatment at the bar, it was so bad. Shame as nice pub. I'll not say male or female out of consideration, not that the person showed us any.

I was looking forward to a nice evening in this pub but the barmaid is so unpleasant, unhelpful and slightly aggressive in tone that I ended up walking out in disgust. This must be losing you business - what a shame!
