Love it here. Amazing service as always. The coffee shop is part of the Huegh Battery Museum so all for charity. Hugh Battery Museum is spectacular. A great piece of Hartlepool history. Great bacon butties. Great coffee, great cakes. My dog loves it here. Especially the doggie sausage. She can try the ice cream in the summer. Only moved here late last year. This was an amazing find. Park nearby. Walk the headland then have coffee and cake. Or if early enough a bacon butties for a late breakfast. Just a shame closes December to February but will be a regular visitor at the weekends.

A very clean and friendly cafe serving breakfasts, lunches, and snacks, all at competitive prices. The food is very good, fresh, and cooked to order. A great cafe hidden in plain site on the corner of York Road and Lucan Street.

This is a great place to visit for drinks, or for a meal, or for a sandwich. The breakfasts, and breakfast sandwiches, are freshly prepared and very tasty as well as being great value for money. Lunches and hot sandwiches are tasty and good value, as are homemade scones and cakes. In addition the coffee is first class. The bar has a good choice of alcoholic, and non - alcoholic drinks which coupled with very friendly and efficient bar and kitchen staff. This is one of the most friendly, efficient, and value for money establishments on the Marina.

Aestically this is a lovely vintage hotel with nice-sized rooms and friendly staff. However, I would be concerned about staying in the summer.. read on. After a long day at work, I chose to relax with a bath. After running the tap for 5 or 10 minutes it was still cold. When I contacted the night porter he later explained the boiler had been turned off and was now back on, however it would take 30 minutes to warm up. After waiting an hour or two, it got to midnight and by this point I was too tired. I was later explained to that you can either have the heating on and hot water or nothing at all. Hence my concern for the summer! For breakfast two metal flasks were not labeled so had to guess which one was coffee and hot water. Both of these were not hot at all and were luke warm every morning despite turning up 8am. The food was well cooked but not much variety, and the fresh juice not very pleasant. Also randomly a roll of tinfoil and cigarette materialised under my bed despite having a private sign on my door. Again overall love the aesthetic and nice staff just would not stay for work again especially as they don't have a dedicated restaurant for evening meals.
