**December 2024** new lines added since lovely refurbishment - added pics. Cask ale lovers _ 50% reduction Tuesday on lovely pint of strongarm and all cask ales each Tuesday. Jukebox great choice of tunes to pick from. Bar staff all very lovely including the landlord ! Difficult to find a reason to complain, especially with the hidden but delightful beer garden out the back. For pool lovers there is a table here too!

Been a regular at the causeway for years now but anyone comi ng into the place is made welcome by Sean and the team. Theres offers on during the week with fine cask ales and Sean and Amy go out of their way to provide live music during the week and of course the weekends.lovely establishment get yourself there you wont be dissapointed.

Bar staff are amazing and really welcoming,they put a lot of work into making the place comfortable ideal with local pub goers and jazzing it up on weekends with live entertainment,extremely dog friendly with Dog bowls in every room and dog treats.would definitely recommend

Great pub, good choice of beers.

Shame this because there is a nice enough bar atmosphere, nice Xmas decor and Good beer despite being £3.95 a pint. Maybe that's why Coke is clearly the more popular hedonistic choice in here. Needs decent management, whilst you retain a license, to show some attention to the toilets, if for no other reason than dirty, wet and dangerous with beer glasses discarded in sinks. Then when you are in there, with a bit of disinfectant and WD40, you can't turn a blind eye! Come on, you have a duty of care.

One of the last decent pubs in Hartlepool, friendly service from Sean , great pint of Strongarm. An old fashioned pub in the best best sense of the word. If you are in Hartlepool call in you will not be disappointed.

First visit in 15 years and still the best pint of Strongarm anywhere. Cosy, friendly atmosphere, great xmas decorations, friendly attentive and informative barmaid. We will be back.

This is a great pub, easily the best in Hartlepool. I have watched over the past month as Sean has single handed put up all the Xmas decs and the result is awesome. With great draught at reasonable prices this is the go to pub over Christmas. Plenty of live bands planned.

The Causeway is a great pub and always has been but i feel the loud pop music is driving out some of the older characters who used to love going in there for the well maintained ales, 20 odd year old bar staff will put music on which suits them when the room was frequented by blokes over 50,not what you want when trying to have a quiet pint and a catch up with your mates.

Loving the way this pub is going if you are looking for great service and excellent food, with a wide choice of drinks this is for you

This pub has an excellent selection of ales, lagers and ciders with 4 interior rooms, bar, pool room which doubles as live music or party room and two quieter snugs. outside boasts two fabulous beer gardens and the staff ensure that a great time is had by all. Absolutely cracking old pub whether it’s inside or out, beer gardens are top quality with plenty of room and character. Range of drinks it’s class and the staff are top quality, hats off to Sean the landlord.

Been here several times always a warm welcome and good standard of beers lagers etc. Not sure if they serve food hence no rating left but for atmosphere and service it's excellent

The causway is a great bar with live music on often, unreal night out and good prices aswel. Nothing better than sitting in the beer garden on a sunny day,, it's a suntrap.

Fantastic oldy worldy pub with pleanty of little rooms to chill beer larger and spirits second to none. Staff warm and welcoming with great humour. They have a regular live music spot and internet linked juke box piped to all areas, including two outside areas which will be great for the Summer. A pool table and two or 3 darts boards ensure there is always something going on. Landlord Sean goes out of his way to make everybody feel welcome and his partner and staff always join in on his banter and fun. This pub is a great place to relax and unwind. What a find!!
