Love it here. Amazing service as always. The coffee shop is part of the Huegh Battery Museum so all for charity. Hugh Battery Museum is spectacular. A great piece of Hartlepool history. Great bacon butties. Great coffee, great cakes. My dog loves it here. Especially the doggie sausage. She can try the ice cream in the summer. Only moved here late last year. This was an amazing find. Park nearby. Walk the headland then have coffee and cake. Or if early enough a bacon butties for a late breakfast. Just a shame closes December to February but will be a regular visitor at the weekends.

What a lovely little hideaway. Stumbled upon this today and what a lovely little place. We sat inside the outdoor huts for a cost late breakfast. Straight from the off the staff were lovely and then that was followed up by a good n honesty brunch. We'll defiantly be back

A lovely cafe tucked away at The Heugh Bettery museum at the Headland in Hartlepool. A proper cup of tea with a selection of cakes, scones and snacks (today included sausage sandwich, cream cheese bagel and cheese/bacon scone). Always gorgeous food served by a bunch of lovely ladies. Not our first visit and definitely not our last 😊 SR8

We live locally so often call in to the Poppy Tea Rooms for refreshments. The volunteer staff are very friendly and the prices very reasonable. Its ideal whatever weather - you can sit outside when its sunny or in one of the cosey wood cabins if its inclement. They also has a good range of used books, DVDs and CDs for sale if you are into that sort of thing. The toilet facilities are also very good. The cafe is adjacent to the Heugh Battery Museum, which is also well worth a visit while you are here.

Enjoyed my visit today especially the little garden sheds for you to sit in! Makes for a bit of privacy as well as being outdoors whilst sheltered from the wind. Had a lovely cup of tea and a toasted tea cake, and all at a very reasonable price.

We were out for a walk at the headland with elderly parents and they were saying how they fancied a cup of tea when we came across the Poppy Cafe! What a fabulous little place. There are outside picnic tables but also a number of little summer houses where you could shelter from the wind or rain if it’s a bit chilly. Each one is decked out with memorabilia and has the poppy theme. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the scones were all made by one of the ladies. Everything is very reasonably priced and the scones were delicious. Such a shame to learn the cafe is only open weekends otherwise we would be visiting more often! We will definitely be back though and would thoroughly recommend stopping for a cuppa and a bite to eat. The museum is also well worth a visit - fascinating local history.

Used to come here all the time with my Mam before she sadly passed away 5 years ago , we used to come on a Saturday , since then to keep my Mams lovely memory alive i have been back on many occasions as this is not just a normal cafe it has a hidden secret - EXCEPTIONAL THAI FOOD , usually one dish a day and differs every day just look on the specials board , something like this is a hidden gem and the service is always fast and friendly , the owner wouldnt hold it against me if i said she was a bit loud lol but thats just her way - a very friendly soul and this place is very popular with locals and shopkeepers who order their Thai food as a Takeaway. I love Thai food at the best of time but to find a place that serves it at lunchtime is very very rare , and as i said the quality is superb , ive never been to Thailand but ive eaten in many posh Thai restaurants and the quality of food matches and beats all of them. Keep up the fantastic work to the owner and all your staff. See you soon.

Pure chance we called in here during dog walk combined with pub crawl around headland. What a great surprise and find. Staff were absolutely brilliant friendly and amazing. We all ordered food which you know was cooked to order as it was fresher than fresh. The half cod and chips was ordered by two people and it was perfectly cooked with the most amazing home cut and fried chips (none of Yr skinny fries these were big proper chips). The batter on the fish was nicely crispy and not soggy. I ordered a parmo which was delicious came with chips and salad as it was so nice I devoured it like there was no tomorrow. One toasties was ordered and yet again was delicious. Finally a chicken fajita was brought out and so tasty it didn't last long. We all had drinks and all commented on how overall the service was great friendly and couldn't ask for more. All so competitively priced we will be returning Thank you all at the Victoria Arms
