Lovely, sunny Sunday and only three tables occupied, all outside. Order given, staff not particularly friendly. My sandwich was mediocre, not even cut in half, accompanying salad consisted of lots of lettuce, a few slivers of onion and one cherry tomato cut in half, no balsamic glaze or dressing.

There's something fishy going on at Huntingdon subways lately. New staff I assume Were being ripped of. 6in subs are reassuring 4.2in. And it's not because the 12in rolls are smaller No. We're just being given a very small portion. I'm guessing so the remaining 7.8inches can be utilised by the staff for there own larger portions. I'm not the first one who has noticed this recent issue. It's a bloody liberty If the staff cant be trusted to provide full portions. Then. Something needs to be done . As I don't appreciate paying full price for a third of a 12im sub instead of half.

We were visiting family in Wivenhoe - our first trip back for nearly 3 years. We saw that they were advertising pasties for St Piran’s day and having had strong connections with Cornwall in the past we all agreed this would be an appropriate lunch. Fortunately it was a perfect sunny spring day so we were able to sit outside and it was thoroughly enjoyable. However the interior decor also looked appealing , had we been forced to sit inside. The waitress who served us was lovely , most attentive, and ensured that all our needs were met with a smile, and the food was delicious. We were aware that the Black Buoy has had some very mixed reviews in the past, but based on our recent experience I recommend giving them another chance!

Really disappointed. The restaurant is tatty with torn seats and not the cleanest. We ordered ribs with BBQ sauce. On arrival they were a good size but with literally a drizzle of sauce. They were extremely dry and quite tasteless. The bits with sauce on were really spicy and unpleasant. The chips were obviously oven reconstituted chips ,not triple cooked! Certainly won't hurry back!

I really wanted to leave a review for the White Horse Bakery, but couldn't. OK, we ate in the restaurant one evening and had a great meal - superb. They had a fantastic seeded sourdough with a starter that was so good we came back the next day to buy a whole loaf from the bakery. Getting home, the seeded sourdough from the bakery was over done and crust ridiculously hard. So very disappointing and not sure why there was such a difference from the restaurant to the bakery purchase.

Yet another amazing roast on Sunday. Our favourite hostess Vicki always takes excellent care of us and our dog and really does go the extra mile. It’s always a pleasure eating excellent food served by lovely, happy, smiley people. Can’t fault it. See you again very soon, Sam, Anita and Bernie 🐶

Our experience at the Harbour Inn was brilliant. There were 14 of us and we were looked after with great care and attention. We were able to book in advance - another bonus. Two of our group have coeliac disease and they were delighted to be able to eat fish and chips (fish grilled) - a rare treat – as the management understood and knew what to do. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious - crisp batter (sorry to the coeliacs!), tender fish. Chips amazing. The service was excellent even though it was a busy time. Lovely friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. All in all, five stars out of five!
