Deepdale Cafe in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Only had a coffee but very pleasant staff and excellent coffee.

Always happy with the food here. Tasty and reasonably priced. Good, early opening if you're after a breakfast before a bike or hike along the coast.

Staying in North Norfolk, looked for dog friendly places to eat. Cafe does not look like the website pictures, states it is open intil 16:00. We went in at 15:05 and were told by a young girl that the kitchen shuts at 15:00, drinks & cake only. I asked if there were any sandwiches available, she rudely tutted & shrugged. There were four staff but apparently no one could slap a bit of tuna mayo on a slice of bread. Five adults takeaway sandwiches & coffee, saved me at least £45. Bad attitude, bad customer service, don't bother.

Be warned expensive! I coffee 1 cup of tea 9.80 what a rip off. Plus side dog friendly but not worth paying that much for a cup of tea and a coffee. Wouldn't stop again.

Stopped at this cafe today for lunch. Food looked lovely but unfortunately some chicken in my husband’s club sandwich was raw! Told the waitress who was apologetic but no refund offered! Also, chips ordered with sandwiches at an ‘extra cost’ which were sparse to say the least. Won’t be going back. ☹️

4 of us met here for coffee on a cold January morning. The staff were lovely but it was very cold in the cafe as there was no heating on.

Ordered jacket potato with cheese and beans. Waited a good 40 minutes even though it wasn't very busy. I don't know why it took so long as the potato tasted and looked as though it was cooked a few days ago and was just warmed up. I initially thought we had been given the wrong order as I couldn't find the beans. Turns out there were three baked beans under the questionable cheese, my husband got 5! The cheese was horrible and not much of it either. The coffee was ok. Needless to say we will not be returning!

Mixed review for this experience. Breakfast ingredients were of very good quality, bacon, sausage and hash browns. Avoid Poached Eggs if you want them cooked to perfection, as they are more like a fried egg cooked in water. Coffee is very good quality beans! Downside - We had to wait over 40 minutes for our order to arrive, it was then missing additional items that were ordered with main order, these came out shortly afterwards, we then asked where the rest of the order was and were advised that we’d had everything . This leaving us a little disappointed at paying £4 for toast and preserves. (1 x Slice of toast and a pot of Jam) The front of house staff were very apologetic and you could see they were embarrassed that they had to face the customers whilst the chef/cook was in the kitchen. This could be an amazing little cafe with some direction for the staff to follow as it was like a ship with no captain. Tables not promptly cleared and cleaned, people waiting for food when it wasn’t very busy,, which considering there was 3 front of house staff that were not busy could have easily been avoided on my personal opinion. Both of us work in the hospitality industry and understand how hard it is in the sector and how with a few tweaks this place would be a gold mine.

Food was overpriced and tasteless. I paid £12 for 'Posh Fishfingers'. The fish was unrecognisable and sparse...definitely not cod and definitely not posh. The batter needed cooking too. Frozen chips, a tablespoon of mushy peas and smidgeon of tartare sauce. For £12 I really expected better. My husband had a shrivelled Norfolk Breakfast.

The food ..cakes and bakes ate amazing ...the coffee machine was broken ..so we had some sort of packet latte ...but it was a bit expensive ...the portions were lovely ...the seats uncomfortable ...but plenty of folk in attendance ...slightly ticked away from the high street ...but I would go again for a treat :)

Really disappointed. Dirty tables that hadn't been cleared, the staff ignored it until we asked and then took their time. Food took ages to arrive (it wasn't especially business) and served by miserable staff who seemed to see us as an inconvenience rather than a valued customer.

The cafe was only half full but tables hadn’t been cleared .Nobody welcomed us or offered to show us to a table. The food when it came was fine but we had to wait 40 minutes for it . Staff inattentive. We got the feeling because of the location they don’t have to try too hard.

Stayed at the campsite so the cafe being next door was ideal. We arrived Wednesday morning & had a lovely breakfast; french toast - delightful! Husband had a tradtional breakfast which was good & the coffees were great. The 2 lads serving were friendly. Perfect....we thought. Visited again on Sunday lunch time & I ordered a chicken ceaser salad - I only wished I'd have taken a photo!! It was very disappointing! It didn't even look appetising, it basically had a few salad leaves with chicken & a few slices of french bread toasted. I struggled to find the parmesan. I did complain & the waitress apologised & returned it to the chef as she was unsure what to do. The chef did not come out from the kitchen & added a few more salad leaves. I just felt really disappointed. £10 for lettuce & chicken. My husbands club sandwich was just okay. To be fair I wanted to give 2 1/2 stars because the previous meal was good but I couldn't.

Not a lot of atmosphere but very clean and tidy. The coffee and cake was good enough...

It took half an hour to serve 2 cups of coffee. We could only drink half or we would have missed our bus. It wasn't that busy. We had told them we needed to be served promptly as we were catching a bus and we're told it wouldn't be an issue. Hopefully this was a one off.

A great café, but prices could be a little lower

My wife has got a stomach disorder which she explained to staff, asked for a salad with no Onions or Tomatos, she was told this could be difficult because the salad came pre packed in a bag and not prepared on the premises, my wife ended up with Lettuce leaves and stale Parmarsen shavings which were unedible, a flatten small piece of plain Chicken ans a small jacket Potato for which she was charged £15. My husband had the Rubens sandwhich which again fell well short of expectations, the whole bill came to £26 which included a mug of hot water and a Americanocoffee.

Always clean and friendly. Not keen on dogs being allowed where food is being consumed, seems to be happening more these days.

Lovely modern cafe chicken and coffee was nice

Called in for a breakfast sandwich and although we arrived before the cafe opened there where already people queuing and having tested the food it's easy to see why. We've been before and once again it doesn't fail to please. We both had a sausage, bacon and egg sandwich, which was brought over quickly and hot. The eggs had a lovely golden yoke, the bacon was well cooked and tasty and the sausage was flavoursome. The cafe sources local produce and they should continue to do so. The three young ladies serving were all polite, pleasant and very efficient, as not long after opening the cafe was over half full and no one was kept waiting Totally recommend this if you're looking for a Sunday morning snack

This place needs a good scrub. I came with friends and their little ones. I don’t know where to start. The place is so dirty we had to wipe down the high chairs and tables. The dust in the ledges and leftover food made us all feel rather sick. When the breakfast came it was just awful. The bread, is not nice. It’s claggy and has a vile taste to it. We had visited before a few years back and we enjoyed our breakfast rolls - light and airy and we were impressed. Whatever has happened in this time needs to be rectified because we won’t be returning. The food has gone downhill and does not live up to the reviews from a few years back. Avoid at all costs unless they change drastically. Food and hygiene wise.

Stopped for coffees and a snack It was busy but still pretty good service. You grab a table and order at the counter. Very convenient location just off the main road and a decent amount of parking.

After visiting here several times in the past I visited today with my sister for a drink and late lunch.while I was waiting for our food I visited the toilet,which I must say I was horrified at the cleanliness of the toilet,smelt of urine,urine stained toilet seat and the hand basin was very dirty.food arrived, sandwich arrived promptly,and was nice ,however the garnish of salad leaves was not up to standard, it was shrivelled and going slimey. Very disappointed, will not visit again

Reasonable prices for North Norfolk but the breakfasts aren't what they used to be. Good for a quick fry up but I used to be far more impressed with the ingredients that were used.

Pop in for a light lunch, I had a really tasty home made soup, pea and mint beautiful! My husband had a tuna and cheese paying also very nice. Quick, efficient and polite staff.

Great little cafe, we stopped in for a breakfast whilst doing the Brancaster Staithe circular walk. Recommend the 'norfolk breakfast', very nice!

Food range was ok. Eggs looked good but were served cold. Wasn't very clean and smell of damp dogs didn't help. I would give it another try as it may have been a one off. It was quite busy.

Close your eyes and think of a cafe. That's this place. It's just fine, lacking imagination and something a bit different. Portions eh. Expected more than a little ramekin of baked beans...

While having a look around the few shops at Dalegate Market in Deepdale we stopped by the Deepdale Cafe for a drink, the cappuccino was very good.

Cute restaurant. No frills but good food

Friendly service but obviously didn’t understand our request for the fat on the bacon to be well cooked, got the distinct feeling that this food was pre-cooked and simply microwaved before being put on my plate. Hash brown was very rubbery didn’t feel like it had seen a frying pan, so for £8.50. No I’m sorry I don’t think I’ll be coming back for a latte at £3.50 for a long time now will not be returning to good luck on your journeys folks

Food wasent bad but the staff looked like they would rather not be there and were frankly misrable. Cheer up.

Stopped by for breakfast and it was a great place staff where friendly , food was lovely.

Cafe clean and food average and a little pricey. Unfortunately the staff were very unhelpful. We ordered some sandwiches and sat outside for ages waiting for them to come. In the end we went back into enquire about them to find them piled up in boxes for us to collect. The place wasn’t busy and someone could have popped out to let us know they were there. Some customer service training might be useful.

A lovely place, cracking coffee readable priced and friendly staff

We were very pleased to find the café after visiting the church opposite. It is dog friendly and they very happily got us a dog bowl. In the complex are various craft shops as well as the garage. We had the ‘Norfolk breakfast’ which was excellent, and would certainly return here if in the area. They boxed up two pieces of cake (carrot and lemon) for us to take – both very good.

The staff are very friendly, service is spot on & the food, drink are excellent value.

We came here on a Monday afternoon for a quick bite of lunch, with our two children. We were quite surprised at the cost of sandwiches and jacket potatoes so we opted to share two sausage rolls and two plates of cheesy chips between us. We all enjoy a sausage roll and, at £5 each we were expecting these to be something special. Sadly we were disappointed. In a county that produces some excellent, artisan sausage rolls, these were small and slim with a solid tube of pink sausage meat that came away from the pastry intact. The chips were average. My coffee was average (there were quite a few loose coffee grindings at the bottom). With a glass of fresh orange (in a glass with a chip in the rim) that my daughter said was good, and two cans of coke, this little snack came in at £27.50. On the plus side, the waitress was friendly and efficient and it was a good spot for sheltering from the rain. I mentioned our disappointment to the staff member at the till as we paid but she didn’t appear to welcome our feedback. As I said to her, the cafe was quite full so clearly, some people were happy with the food and the prices. Not us though.

Actually visited from staying in Doddington to look at Fatface but too much of a que. We were hungry and went in. Good food. Might have been bit high but still good. Very busy place though.

Very nice friendly cafe with decent parking & a few shops & petrol station next door. Food is good but expensive for what it is. 9.50 for a basic breakfast, 1 item of each & doesn't include tea or coffee. Still its a pleasant stop for a biker between Wells & Hunstanton.

Lovely breakfast with family, all cooked well and lovely toast (white and brown). Nice to sit outside and watch world go by. Only disappointment was that not in “eat out to help out” scheme.

Went in by chance with my wife and mother-in law. We had fish and chips which were amazing. Friendly staff and fast service. Felt very safe with Covid restrictions. Highly recommend and their other food on the menu looked great too!

We visited on the first day of the new face masks, so that was fun. We sat outside on a picnic bench, I went in on my own to order. The menu is conveniently displayed on the door. Hand sanitiser is also available by the door and there was a plastic screen at the till. The food was great, the big breakfast my husband said was delicious and my eggs were poached to perfection. The coffee was lovely.Sadly we went on our last day, but I would be happy to go back. If you visit, also take a look at the nearly retail shops, there was a lovely art shop round the back and several lovely pop up shops too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Visited today. The ham was Delicious with the eggs and chips. The chips were poor, some tiny ones were inedible ( home made). Eggs very good. The quantity of halloumi was tiny for a £10 meal, nice large mushrooms. This cafes prices are not low so I expected a better meal for what I paid.The price of the food has not been reduced following the reduction to 5% on food, this is very disappointing, my bill should have been around £3 less. I dont think we will be returning.

Lovely cafe at Burnham Depedale. Breakfasts, lunches and dog area inside. Friendly staff and good food though not the cheapest. We like coming here as there are nice shops, including pop up shops in the summer, and entertainment on quite often. A nice place to come any time of the year.

Have not been here for some years, so decided to go for a Sunday morning fat boy’s breakfast. Arrived about 10.00 and there was plenty of seating. They have a dog friendly area too. Ordered the main breakfast which at £10 was ok if perhaps a little light (2 sausages maybe?), however it was all well cooked and included said sausage, bacon, beans, hash brown, mushroom, half a grilled tomato, fried egg and a round of toast, although when I say toast, it was a round of bread that had been waved somewhere near a warm grill! Service prompt and friendly, so apart from the toast/bread no real grumbles, although it was not as good a breakfast as I remember from about 7 years ago.

We have visited this cafe twice for breakfast on a Sunday morning recently whilst camping nearby and we're looking forward to returning. The food was excellent all round and the staff were helpful with our various requests for slight tweaks to things on the menu. Really good sausages and our daughter greatly enjoyed a freshly baked pain au chocolat! In terms of the prices, as this has been mentioned in another review, I think they are reasonable. We felt the quality of the food was high - no cheap, fatty bacon or photocopy bread - and, after all, it is a touristy area! We live near Cambridge so appreciate that eating out costs more here than other parts of the UK, but I think it's fair to adjust expectations of the cost of eating out when you're on holiday.

Visited this lively little cafe during half term when it seemed a little busy but the staff on duty were still very friendly and happy although rushing around during what seemed to be a busy morning! The lovely lady chef was very knowledgeable and even came to the table to discuss my dietary needs and made me feel very welcome and not like a nuisance at all! After placing my order with a very kind young waitress my food arrived promptly and piping hot! Having read the previous reviews i didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised and left there having had a beautiful breakfast and delicious coffee. Although not tried on this visit all the cakes and scones that were on display looked delicious and was informed baked fresh on the premises everyday. I for one will definitely be visiting again when back in lively north Norfolk! Keep up the good work guys!!! Xxx

Lovely stop! All 3 waitresses on shift when we visited on Wednesday were polite, friendly, informative and working their socks off during what seemed to be a busy time. They were very helpful with allergy information which made choosing food a lot easier. Food and coffee were both delicious and a reasonable price! We will definitely be coming back.

On arrival with my 7 year old daughter and her friend, we found a table, to be met by truck stop presentation of laminated menus at very expensive prices. ordered 2 x children's breakfast, 1 x adult and drinks. Drinks arrived, shorty after by a surprise arrival of my parents, who sat on the table next to ours. My mother went to have a look at the counter and what was on offer. During this time a very rude waitress came over and abruptly pointed out that it was table service!! Food arrived. Shorty before we finished up our drinks after the breakfast, my mother left the table and went to the counter and paid for both tables. On departure, my mother was called over while on her way out of the door, and told she had not paid! this was carried in full audio of fellow diners in the cafe, In a most rude and unprofessional manner. my mother rightly pointed out that she had paid, but again the rude waitress, said you only paid for one table! for which my mother was then put in the position to again further confirm that she had paid for both, by way of calling over the waiter that took the payment. My other so was taken aback by all this and at the time, she forgot that the receipt for full payment was in her handbag. After this my mother suggested that waitress should apologize for her rude and unprofessional outburst.Would not recommend this establishment, In my humble opinion its a very average truck stop style cafe with high priced menu, very poor, rude and untrained staff.

called in on sunday my wife went to the counter to see what cakes etc they did while I joined my son and family who had already ordered. a young waitress came over to me and said would I like to order I said my wife was just seeing what you do to which she snapped "this is table service" and stormed off.We ate the meals we had ordered and my wife went and paid for the whole party.Upon leaving the same waitress stopped my wife and insisted she had not paid .my wife said she had paiand the waitress was very rude and aggressive insisting we had not paid.My wife called the man who had taken the money and he confirmed we had paid .My wife was quite upset about the waitresses attitude .We will not be returning!!

Absolutely cracking breakfast with really great options. It's a bit pricey though, but worth it for not cooking breakfast out in the rain when your camping next door! It's a very short walk from the campsite just next door.

Good breakfast sat outside the cafe. Kids enjoyed it and so did I. The young waitress was very polite, helpful and efficient. Good start to the day!

Really good, we are local, but have never been here to eat before.

We arrived for a cup of tea and a snack on my wife's recommendation. The main cafe had four empty tables, but sitting upon each one were dirty crockery and cutlery from previous customers. Maybe there is something wrong with me but I honestly don't know what to do in this situation. I asked the young woman making a coffee and she agreed, there's nowhere to sit and she's busy. We walked through into the kitchen/diner area and found a clean table there, though there were also dirty ones in here. I just won't sit at dirty tables and I won't clean away other customers' leftovers. Everything was fine with our order, the food and drinks, and I did notice the lady and gent working in the kitchen really putting in a shift. They behaved in a very hygienic way. So, in all, great, but I felt we really got off to a bad start. It gave me a bad impression and I doubt I'll return.

We arrived today at 11.40, found a table on the lovely patio area and I went in to the cafe to order.
