Very disappointed, menu very limited no vegan friendly choices.... When we mentioned this to the server she said they had vegan choices but it was on a menu separate...!?!!! Why?? We as a group found this so weird... So not everyone gets this choice? Why keep these options separate ? Where is the inclusiveness? We had tenderstem with walnuts as one of our limited options.... Guess what we noticed... No staff mentioned this but no walnuts... So we pointed this out and were told yes they'd run out of them!!! So we shall visit for a drink as beautiful gardens and beer but will wait for a new menu..... Sorry

We came to have lunch here but felt ignored at the bar while one of the staff chatted to another customer, and then when another woman came behind the bar she took my order without any acknowledgement or friendliness. I asked for menus but she rang up the drinks without asking if I wanted to open a tab (maybe they don't do that in case you run off!). It was probably for the best as, after looking at the menu and not feeling welcome we decided to go elsewhere and spend our money. Shame about the experience but the garden is nice.

We dine here regularly it is consistently good and always improving. Tonight we had cod cheeks , mackerel, chermula, a prawn, tomato and Wighton cheese special and a great pie, with both types of potato and tenderstem brocoli. This was followed by pear and plum trifle and grilled pineapple and a cherry sorbet. This was tremendous. In addition the draught Adams Easeup was superbly kept slightly chilled and one of the nicest pints I have had for years, and I drink a lot of beer!.

We've visited this place on many occasions when we've dropped into Hunstanton and surrounding places alike, and weve always enjoyed it here. We were very surprised at the make over they've had outside, really has made the place better. On the flip side, service was a bit slow on the bar side of things. Only one person on the bar and the queue was nearly out the front door. Bar tender didn't know how to do an aperol spritz, so we waited until some who did know to serve us. I had a pint of Amstel, wasn't the coldest in fairness. We were restricted to sandwiches, food wise, after 2.30, so we gave it a miss, but thats all you get if you order one...Just a sandwich, no garnish, no side salad etc, just that. Which I feel can be improved on...and they're £10+! Great outdoor area for the kids. Little bit disappointed this time but I'd visit again because we like this little gem.

We gave been here a couple of times now - for a casual lunch and then for Sunday lunch. A really good new find and great to see this lovely pub open again and seemingly doing well. Sunday lunch was good - probably better if we had been in the first sitting as the meat was not very pink and the potatoes felt jaded. Very busy and we weren't offered tea or coffee - it felt like a bit of a production line. However, still a good visit and lovely puddings.

Unfortunately another pub that has gone down the trendy route to appeal to the tourists not the locals, food very expensive not that you get much, you have to order extra dishes to make a meal, drinks expensive too, pint of Guinness £6.50, I’ve had better pub meals for less than half the price, a case of style over substance, very few proper pubs left in this part of Norfolk now.

we went to this pub/resturant for the first time whilst travelling the coast road and fancied something to eat. Fortunatley we were lucky to get a table outside as it was busy but it didnt feel overly busy. Staff friendly and polite and the food was a very high standard without the inflated prices. Really sad to see this place has changed hands, have been looking forward to going back to my favourite restaurant for months now as not local and have now decided not to go. Having 2 older children, eating out as a family of 4 can be expensive. The honest home cooked menu, portions and pricing were a rare and welcome thing in this area and we never had a bad meal. Loved this place so much. Sadly this is no more and the menu now looks to be in the same zone as many other expensive gastro pubs in the area. Really disappointing. Rating based on menu only (choices and price) in comparison to how it used to be as have not visited in its current incarnation.

Lovely little village pub. Very busy but expected on a Sunday afternoon with the sun out. Great for families with a play area and lawn games. Food was very tasty, everyone enjoyed it, including the kids. We had a mix of a Roast, sharing plates and kids menu items. Service was friendly but slightly lacking, asked for extra water on the table that didn't arrive, kids burgers were eaten before their chips arrived and asked for sauce which took a long while to arrive. Probably just due to the volume of customers, as all servers were lovely and friendly.

We really enjoyed our meal at the White Horse at the weekend. There's a nice and varied menu. Interestingly the message on the menu is all about sharing so I think they are wanting it to a bit like tapas rather than individual meals for each person. But basically there are starters, main courses and desserts! Our meals were all well-presented, good quality and tasty. We got a warm welcome on arrival, and had super friendly service from all the staff, with a special mention for our waitress Elisa! Prices were pretty reasonable too. And despite being full, the restaurant was not at all noisy, because it's broken up into smaller areas. All round, a 5-star place to eat.

My neighbour and I visited on the off chance and discovered that it was "Curry Night" so one of us had the lamb and the other the prawn - both of which were very good. We then decided to have the cheese for dessert which was priced at £9 each. We were so shocked by the size of the portion (like 2 postage stamps) that we felt we had to raise it with the server. He was sympathetic and said that he would pass it up the line. We're local and we want the pub to do well. The outside modifications have been done really well - and the new garden area is particularly nice. However, the paltry serving of cheese has grated (forgive the pun). We joked afterwards that we should have had the cheeseburger (priced reasonably at £10) without the burger or the bread. At least we'd have got more cheese.

Firstly, the exterior looks fantastic - the refurbishment is excellent. However, our visit last night with friends was a huge disappointment. The service was slow and chaotic. I understand the pub has only recently opened, so I hope these are just teething problems that will improve over time. The food, on the other hand, was very disappointing. I have never had a burger served on a side plate before. It looked small and was the most underwhelming burger I’ve ever had, with just one small piece of lettuce and no side garnish. The burger alone was £13.50, and a modest portion of chips cost an additional £3.80. It was under seasoned and unimpressive. When we left, the general consensus was that it was all fur coat and no knickers. I really hope the reviews are read and taken to heart because the place has potential, but I won't be going back anytime soon.

So, in the week we were away, we ate twice, once Sunday evening and then again on Friday night. Both evenings the specials were the exact same; which was poor. Sunday roast the YP was dry and almost inedible, and bizarrely the burgers, (served on a side plate) did not come with fries, which is akin to the roast beef without a Yorkshire Pudding; in this instance, that would have been most welcome. Friday night we sat outside in the garden; the service was poor really. Food was bought along, but no cutlery. The King Prawns were good, but no finger bowl was available, which was annoying. No-one came and cleared the plates, so we went in search of puddings ourselves. When the dessert and cheese arrived, still the dirty plates remained. All in all, the portions were too small; two miserly slices of cheese for £8.50 was an absolute con. Too many of the main courses were just that; no vegetables or potatoes included, which is a cheap trick. The staff were pleasant, but no leadership or training was apparent. Given for the four of us, for two meals, we spent a whisker away from £300.00, this does not represent any sort of value for money. It needs to up it's game to be considered a destination pub, otherwise it will have a reputation of over priced meals, on small plates, with no extras.

Lovely renovations to the outside space, I was really looking forward to our meal and having a local place to eat out in the Summer. Unfortunately the menu only disappointed us, the main ‘courses’ seem to in fact be stand alone items without accompaniments cheeseburger on a side plate no salad/onion rings etc. Chicken and leek pie arrived once again lonely on a side plate no veg/mash/new potatoes etc. Had we been aware when ordering we would have ordered veg,new potatoes etc not what I expect for an evening meal I’m afraid. Maybe the staff could ask if you would like anything with your PIE this would then highlight nature if the menu and upsell veg etc? And to top it off a very sharp bone made itself apparent during eating my pie. All round disappointing experience 😔

Here we are again; another village pub with good meals at sensible prices and loved by locals has been taken over by a chain in order to make money out of the visitors. We decided not to eat here, since it seems the idea is to pick lots of ‘small plates’ which will add up to an eye watering price. Who wants to go and order one sausage for £4? The ‘sharing’ is all meant to be “embodying the Norfolk community spirit”. Actually, NFN is not to share, with visitors anyhow. We used to eat here regularly but won’t now. Another place off the list for those of us who live here and would support out of season too, if there was something reasonably priced on offer.

The pub looks fabulous now that it's been renovated! The car park, beer garden gardens look beautiful 😍 interior has had a lovely refresh! Service isn't quite there yet. It could do with a bit more of a warm, welcoming, with a smile/taking an interest. But I'm sure they'll get there! Bar service was a bit slow. Paying by cash was a bit problematic. I was asked how I was paying... I said "cash if that's ok?" (Spotting there was an issue with previous customers paying by cash). Bar maid said "yes that's fine, but I might not be able to give you all your change." I think that probably could have been handled better. "I'm struggling for change but I'll do my best" would have come across more helpful. The wine was lovely, though, and it was great to see the beer garden busy on a Wednesday afternoon. Will be back soon to try out the food, and see how the service is then. Brilliant job on the refurbishment.

Norfolk has just got itself a new culinary star. Visited for first time since refurb and my word it was good. The decor has been done beautifully but the star is the food. Well, the food was certainly up to scratch, no reheated roasts or Yorkshires, all freshly cooked and the beef was perfect. Why not 5? Well it was disappointing that the fish, plaice, came without any veg to accompany it. The powers that be need to review this stingy decision in my humble opinion, so I chose the beef which was excellent value. Looking forward to another visit and fingers crossed!

Terrible and very disappointing. Having been excited by the renovations and being taken over by the same owners of the white horse in Brancaster where we go twice a week. Very upset by our experience. First no dog free zones, although when we went no dog there, but about the customers. The menu was confusing as the numbers on the side were the prices but no pound sign so had to ask. Asked what came with the dishes as nothing stated. Told we had to pick from the list. Both went for the whole place tartare butter sauce with a side of fries. Half a hour later it arrived. The place was swimming in sauce and there was sapphire and another green which we didn’t order and didn’t want. There was so much sauce on the plate when you tried to gentle remove the head and fins the sauce fell of the plate and when lifting of the flesh it swam in space and all you could taste was sauce. So we didn’t eat it. The ships were fine but a very small portion for £3.80 the Place was £24. A beautiful fish totally ruined. Suggest the sauce is served on the side so you can have how much you like. Service poor, no one asked if everything alright with the meal. We asked for the bill and told the waitress it was disgusting initially she smiled until she realised e were serious. She cam with the bill of £76.58 which she included £6.96 which I would think out of curiosity she would have removed if nothing else. She did offer a complimentary coffee but we could get out there quick enough. Such a shame as so much has been done to make the place look lovely with the refurbishments. Would be nice if the food matched it. Also need new cutlery as the old looks like it has seen better days and some fish knives. Very disappointed and will never go back. Do not recommend.

Well now, this new pub in the Anglian Inn chain is only just opened and so we hadn't been here before (unlike the rest of their pubs which we go to a lot). Unfortunately it seems that they are still working through the opening. We visited end of June '24 after it opened in May '24. Booked in for 6pm on a Sunday, to be told on arrival that the kitchen should close but they would keep it open (i.e. get a move on!). Different menu to online, fine, but hadn't been told on booking that there was a separate Sunday one. Most dishes were sold out as it had been a nice day. Weren't told this on being handed the menus. Roast Beef was very fatty and stringy - not helped by only having what we're like butter knives to eat with. Three roast potatoes was a bit mean. Burgers were tasty, but beware, you have to order chips/potatoes separately. No atmosphere. Staff wanted to finish - maybe change the online details if service times and those outside the premises? I really hope they turn it around. The building and garden, although not finished, look reasonable.

I only went for a pint or two so cannot comment on the food side but the two real ales on offer were decent and well kept. The bar area felt tidy and smart and while quiet on the evening we attended I imagine the arrangement of the seating would create a good atmosphere when busy, especially if it was filled with the locals.

Called in as a half way point on our walk. Made very welcome with our dog had a great bowl of fresh local muscles all delicious! Despite some bad reviews this visit did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations.

We went here as a family with high expectations. The menu is good and the prices very reasonable. However, my husbands liver was so tough he couldn't cut it with the knife and when we mentioned this the response was 'I'll mention it to the chef'. Most of it was left on the plate. The pizza was average. My mussels were lovely I must say. My daughter paid in cash (and we realised later we were overcharged) but as we walked out the barman (landlord??) came up behind us and said really loudly 'are you going to pay for your food?' It was embarrassing! I assured him we had and offered to come back in so he could check but then the waitress said we had and hadn't cleared the till .....no apology offered. Sorry, won't be back

Rude staff and average food. Very unwelcoming to children despite the massive playground in the front garden.

Only 4* simply because we visited specifically for the mussels, and they'd sold out, so we had the squid and the whitebait instead, and they were tasty and very fresh. The service was excellent, even though they were getting very busy as always.

We were staying in the village in a lovely cottage across the road from The White Horse. We visited as a family, the food was excellent and so was the service. Very friendly staff and the music was spot on! Just wish that there were more pubs like the White horse.

Good range of pub grub reasonably priced. Efficient, friendly service although the pub was quiet. Background music was from our era but not intrusive.

Visiting family in Hunstanton and wanted to try somewhere different. A little old fashioned and slightly uncomfortable seats but otherwise a quaint traditional pub. Nice food, good sized portions so reasonable value for money. Unfortunately a couple of dishes we chose weren’t available but alternatives were nice

Have been really lucky with this pub. Warm comfortable restaurant, we were made to feel welcome. I don't drink alcohol so to find that they had a small but drinkable option was a relief. If I was to be honest, more choice would be nice. Recommend st peters without gold.0.0 (please) My wife and I had home made steak and ale pie with chips peas and a gravy boat of gravy. Absolutely stunning. Linda's eyes nearly popped out of her head at the size of this pastry clad beauty. Delicious to the last bite, with tender big chunks of beef in a rich full flavoured definitely slept flavoured sauce. We are both pie enthusiasts, and this one lives in pie heaven. We only found this hidden gem by accident, but what a stroke of good luck. Clean and pleasant with a truly old fashioned detail to quality and service.

We went for a late lunch at 2:30. Absolutely appalling ! The staff seemed to be tired and fed up. I had chowder which tasted sour and off with little or no fish, and my husband had scampi, the chips were very over cooked and inedible they tasted of old cooking oil. I had a glass of white wine which was supposed to be Sauvignon blanc, it tasted oxygenated and old! I wrote to the pub afterwards by email to complain and have had no response.

Nice beer garden with a large open-sided marquee (needed as it was very hot that day). Good food and beer at reasonable prices. Great service. Dog friendly - nearly everybody in the garden had a dog

If you want to have your meal in a kids playground and don't actually want to listen to what your fellow diners are saying above the noise of small children hoovering the floor with plastic Dyson things and screaming all around you, then this is the place for you!! Really poor set up..all it needs is a bouncy castle in the room and you're well away!!! Have kids parties ...fine, but control them ?! In an area not right next to other diners who literally couldn't hear each other speak due to the screaming kids that the parents allowed to run riot! Food was average at best and v small portions for what you're paying... first visit and sadly the last for me

Waited over an hour for food. We can see food up on the hot area, we received the food an hour and 20 after. One staff member did say it will be 20 minutes. We received the food, the order was wrong.
