We haven't been here for a while but decided to try it as it had always served good food and we weren't disappointed! Both of us ordered fish and chips which arrived hot and quickly. It was really tasty and the portions were just right. The beer and wine were great and we had a lovely relaxing evening. Beautiful views over the harbour and wetlands.

Have not been here for around 2 years but still as good as ever. Not the owners fault but why do people have to shout when sitting down as a group! We found a table but had to move due to the excessive noise 1 group were making but this proved positive as we fund a nice quiet table. I had the battered fish ny wife scamoi and both were truy excellent. Light batter and right size portions. We will be back. (Just a shame the crushed mity peas were not available!!!

First of all - lovely cheerful staff and a welcoming log burner. We have eaten there tonight and have had the freshest fish and chips possible. A light batter, hot and tasty. Served with garden peas and tartare sauce. It was a Thursday and they have an awesome offer : two fish, chips and peas plus two drinks , wine, beer or soft drink, for £25.00 total. Unbelievably good value. Thank you - couldn’t manage a pudding! This offer is also on a Wednesday too - between 5 and 8pm.

We were warmly greeted and provided with a good pint of Adnams Southwold bitter. Was driving so not going for Broadside!Ordered Haddock and Chips and I have to say Superb bad poor on the same plate. The Haddock was superb with the best batter I have eaten in years whilst the chips were a limp let-down that were somehow a bit soggy. What a pity the chips were not anywhere as good as the Fish or the Beer.Chips should be made with fresh potatoes. a real let down. Pity as could be prepared properly.

This rustic pub doesn’t initially hit you as a place to eat but you would be very mistaken. Everyone we spoke to said how good it was so we gave it a try. The seafood chowder was one if not the best we have ever eaten. Seafood pie was excellent as was the Cod and prawn Curry. Staff very friendly and prices very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit

After a day exploring in Southwold, this hit the spot. Decent food, all different types of Adnams on tap, and the sticky toffee pudding was one of the best (if not the best) I’ve had. Super friendly staff too, child friendly (and dog friendly based upon other customers). Thanks for lovely time!

Annual Visit to where I had memorial to my late husband. Wanted to try something new. It was a very disappointing experience. Fish was nice, so were mushy peas but chips were cold & inedible. I quietly spoke to a member of serving staff at bar. The food was returned promptly & hotter but I suspect the chips had merely been reheated. They were hard, misshapen & felt like they’d been reheated countless times. I left them uneaten. I have given 2 stars for the simple reason staff member, a young man, who was polite, efficient & pleasant. The prices are inflated because of location but food did not warrant cost. I would choose from menu carefully, if I ever returned but doubt I would.

Met up with family on a damp blustery Sunday so instead of sitting outside we had a meal in the bar. Despite the fact that the bar was packed and the menu was reduced because of staffing problems the fish and chips we had were delicious and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. This was mostly down to Larry who worked like a Trojan to keep everyone happy. We will definitely return.

We went for walk round and decided to go to the harbour inn, went to order food and drinks only to be told no cash payments accepted, card payment only, which must be so convenient for the society that lives in that world, but discriminating the older generation who don't! A group of 8 friends wanting to eat at this establishment. At 7:50pm we enquired if they could serve 8 people for dinner, we were told yes and issued menus. They requested that we order quickly. As most of the party were still gathering there things from a boat moored outside the menus were taken to the boat to collect everyone’s order. We returned to the bar with an order for eight meals at 8.01pm to be told the kitchen had closed one minute ago. Clearly the staff that work there don’t want any business. I am guessing that the group would have spent in the region of around £200. They were expecting the order and chose to close and refuse the order because of a sixty second delay. A very poor work ethic indeed

Nice spot by the harbour which took us and our dogs in on a very rainy day. Nice atmosphere in the pub that was later a little spoilt by others badly behaved dogs running around while we were trying to eat. Food was a little below average to be honest, especially for the price - £17.50 for Fish and Chips. Our chips portions were pretty imbalanced between our two plates so unsure who had the right portion size between us! Fish was okay, batter a little overcooked and lacking seasoning. Nice spot, but not the best pub in the area

Sadly to say was disappointed. Let’s start off with the positives, ordered a burger with a Stilton and spring onion sauce, hand cooked chips onion rings and coleslaw. The coleslaw was really creamy, the chips and onion rings were delicious. And the bun was fine. Bottle of wine was lovely. That’s where it stops, my burger was tough and over done, but I could get over that, it was the Stilton and spring onion sauce. A sludge with no flavour. Not even a smidgeon of Stilton flavour. I did ask the waitress where was the Stilton? She said, bless her, that I can see you have had some (where?) think she meant the sauce, no Stilton or even flavour on my plate. She offered to go and get some more. I was horrified when she came back with this pallid gloopy sauce in a dish (some that had already been thrown over my burger) that tasted of absolutely nothing. Yuk. Surely if Stilton is the first named ingredient in the sauce you should be able to taste something? Got hubby to try, he understood my disappointment .,From my comments you will know I did ask and said I wasn’t happy. Not her fault. The kitchens . So… if you like Stilton don’t go for the burger with Stilton and spring onion sauce. All you get is insipid pale tasteless gloop. Oh and the sauce on the burger made the lettuce go soft and slimy, no crunch, and goodness knows what happened to the tomato. Soft and slimy too. To be honest I am fairly local, but wouldn’t go back.

Bit on the lumpy side. Starter was salmon and prawn. 1st time I came sauce was great. Second none. I'm sure the fish dish is wonderful but the steak I had wasn't so great. Pudding was a delight. Sadly for a Friday it was very quiet
