We ate here on a Friday lunch time on our way to our holiday cottage, as there was a large group of us we ordered food in advance & received a warm welcome when we arrived. A couple from our group were caught in traffic & were running late but they managed to plate there food up for them & keep it warm until they arrived (great customer service). See you again next year!

Don't go if you want to watch Sky Sports. Despite advertising outside the pub that 'Sky Sports is shown here" when I asked if football was going to be put on, the guy behind the bar said "no we don't have sky sports'. we had already bought drinks at this point, so we finished those and went to a pub in Lowestoft which shows Sky. probably won't return here

A friendly host behind the bar was the positive, along with the choice of beers. The gammon meal was OK. However, the lasagne meal was dreadful - hard & dried out mince, which was covered with fresh grated cheese to hide this fact. Chips were bland & floppy. Waitress, when asking how the meal was addressed of this, but just thanked us for our honesty? We let the main man serving behind the bar know the meal was so poor, who immediately removed this from our bill & apologised - well done him! It was a shame the waitresses did nothing at all. We would not return.

We visited The Livingstone whilst on holiday staying at the campsite next door. We were made to feel welcome and all of the staff were super friendly. We ate in the bar area on the Saturday evening and the food was good. Tables were cleared and cleaned quickly. We visited again on the Sunday afternoon and the barman remembered us and knew what we were drinking. We stayed for a couple of hours and had the pleasure of seeing The Piano Man in action- great way to spend a Sunday afternoon We would definitely return if we are in the area

Arrived at 3.11 for a table booking of 11 at 3pm the manager was very rude and when I said we were slightly late she bellowed your lucky I was about to stop which fair enough so I thought ok never mind. Orders placed then we went to the carvery to be told theres no roast potatoes. Ok again its last sitting of the day I can almost understand although if there knew they had a large table booking why not prepare more. I went to the manager and was very polite to change my daughters meal to something else as she all she really wanted was the roasts and said whilst I was there can you take abit of money off each roast plate please…wow what a rude woman! Proceeding to tell me how being 15 mins late and there was a suitable alternative (mash) I said ok but most people when having a roast dinner want roast potatoes, why didnt someone say when we placed the orders. i asked why she was being so rude to me, and to be honest her lack of management skills and maturity came through. Rolling her eyes, saying she would be in trouble for taking money off each meal which she did eventually agree £2 only when I said I am being polite think about how your talking. She was a real unpolite little lady. The rest of the people serving were nice and the food was good but due to how rude she was I would not recommend. She should not be a a manager she doesnt possess the skills

Called here for Sunday lunch, wasn't busy, as I entered there seemed to be more staff than customers. They ask you for your pudding order with your mains order which is rather strange. Service was prompt,, in fact a little to prompt, Ordered the Roast, which consisted of bought in Yorkshire puddings, pork was tender, red cabbage which I love, tasted off, roast potatoes under cooked. Mains was cleared as soon as I laid my cutlery onto the plate and my pudding was delivered straight away. We were still chewing our puddings when the waitress cleared the dishes. Seemed to have a lot of new staff training with no one showing them the basic standards. What a shame!

big old queue at the carvery desk and when you get to the front you find it the meat is just industrially reformed logs instead of fresh from the butchers and they're even tight with the fake meat. unless you like loads of undercooked greens you will have to fill up on potatoes and they're not that nice. I can make so much better potatoes at home that are crispy and not drowned in oil. the ale was stale, prices like they had a Michelin star or something. I'm glad I didn't bring the kids because the bar was full of yakking Karen's swearing about this and that as loud as they could. I suppose they only survive on the tourist trade and there's nowhere else to go in the village these days

This was my fist time having a cavery. The staff were friendly but when we first arrived a member of staff initially told us we could head over and get a plate. However, I headed over and observed a member of kitchen staff picking up glassware. I looked at him expecting some communication regarding how things worked as first time and he simply went about his business and returned to the kitchen. Unaware and thinking it was self-service I picked up a plate. The next thing I hear is him telling another member of kitchen staff that he was unaware of what I was doing as I could see him clearing up and decided to pick up a plate. This confused me to no end and luckily I had another member of kitchen staff come out and explain that they were re-setting up. I was glad for the second member of staff but frankly found the first rude. I felt so embarrassed to have been talked about but not talked to by the fist kitchen staff, when it was my first time in the area, in the restaurant and at a carvery of any kind. The beef I found to be very dry and needed alot of help from the gravy, the turkey looked dry nd so I opted out fron trying it. The pork/gammon won the battle of the meats. As far as sides options go, all the veg was delicious, the only let down was the cauliflower cheese. It was vile, nothing could save it.

Sadly to say was disappointed. Let’s start off with the positives, ordered a burger with a Stilton and spring onion sauce, hand cooked chips onion rings and coleslaw. The coleslaw was really creamy, the chips and onion rings were delicious. And the bun was fine. Bottle of wine was lovely. That’s where it stops, my burger was tough and over done, but I could get over that, it was the Stilton and spring onion sauce. A sludge with no flavour. Not even a smidgeon of Stilton flavour. I did ask the waitress where was the Stilton? She said, bless her, that I can see you have had some (where?) think she meant the sauce, no Stilton or even flavour on my plate. She offered to go and get some more. I was horrified when she came back with this pallid gloopy sauce in a dish (some that had already been thrown over my burger) that tasted of absolutely nothing. Yuk. Surely if Stilton is the first named ingredient in the sauce you should be able to taste something? Got hubby to try, he understood my disappointment .,From my comments you will know I did ask and said I wasn’t happy. Not her fault. The kitchens . So… if you like Stilton don’t go for the burger with Stilton and spring onion sauce. All you get is insipid pale tasteless gloop. Oh and the sauce on the burger made the lettuce go soft and slimy, no crunch, and goodness knows what happened to the tomato. Soft and slimy too. To be honest I am fairly local, but wouldn’t go back.
