Situated beautifully by the canal. Felt friendly when entering and pleased it was a dog friendly Inn. Food was a little disappointing, with the pie crust half baked and the gravy in pie was very watery. Also kept being attacked by flies. Maybe restaurant could do with a clean/spruce up.

Visited the Ferry Inn as one of our many stop offs whilst holidaying on the Norfolk Broads. We moored up late afternoon & payed for overnight mooring. It’s such a shame that this beautiful location is spoiled by a run down, grubby pub with awful staff! Outside area overgrown, untidy & dirty looking. I was first greeted if that’s what you want to call it!! By a very rude, miserable older man who I’m guessing is the landlord, who simply said to me is that your dog? To which I replied yes & then I was told to put it on a lead! No please or thank you just rude, my dog was doing no harm she wasn’t running around annoying anyway she was simply sat by my feet minding her own business! Should have known then that this wasn’t going to be the best experience! Staff inside the pub also rude & miserable couldn’t crack a smile if they tried!!! Absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever, the staff create an unpleasant atmosphere it’s like they don’t want you there & everything is an effort!! The food we had was really nice though lovely burgers & huge. But unfortunately the look, atmosphere & staff totally spoil what could be a great pub.

A disappointing visit, don’t know who is supposed to be running this place. We had two pots of tea and one large bottle of fruit juice. Unbelievably l was actually asked if l wanted a glass - l’m over 70!, and l was not offered any ice. The crockery was less than clean as was one spoon, the teapots don’t seem to have been properly cleaned for a while. Two portions of dessert arrive, minus spoons, which we were told to go inside to get them, the dessert was quite passable. The garden tables have seen far better days, the lawn was unkempt and the outside of the building looks tired.

Had a party of 15 was told that they could seat us all and then gave us 2 very small tables that they claimed could fit us all by seating 9 around one and 6 around the other, when we asked for another table so that we weren't sitting on top of each others laps we were rather rudely told no as they could definitely seat all of us especially with the little ones, so ultimately the people who didn't fit around the tables left. So I never had any of the food as I left so I cannot comment on what the food is like.

I’ve seen a couple of recent reviews and ‘TikTok’, ‘YouTube’, ‘Facebook’ videos mentioning this particular pub. I visited here a week ago, moored up, plenty of space and no one in the pub. The owners were outstanding, they were incredibly hard working people, the food was absolutely beautiful (we were here for dinner and for breakfast the following day). I couldn’t eat my dessert or my breakfast, sadly I’d been feeling unwell. The owners and kitchen staff kindly put takeaway dishes together for me. We were only one of two tables here for dinner - it was sad to see that a few had left an unbelievable mess behind. The staff were running themselves ragged attempting to clean up the mess left behind and serve us, so we mucked in! I saw some comments about ‘a dog smell’. The owners have two of the most beautiful and well behaved old English sheep dogs who do not come down until the last customers have left - we specifically asked to meet them and give them a few treats. As a family of two adults and four children (two of which were friends of my own children), this was an utterly easy, relaxing and wonderful experience for us. We noted the waterfowl to the grounds and were pleased to hear that the ferry inn staff look out for them. They save food for them and check up on them on a daily basis. They also have a little known chocolate haven and fresh produce shop to the back of the pub! These guys are hard working, patient and wonderful people and they deserve your business. It’s such a shame to find that social media posts can tarnish such a nice place with good people. I think that the previous reviewee ‘Diane’ may have been one of the messy lot. 🤣

Ok I think it's important to sum this place up, food is great! Not the cheapest but large portions and considering they close for a few weeks a year the prices make sense, not the cheapest but very good. Atmosphere is quiet and reserved, if they turned the music up a touch I think that they'd be surprised how much more pleasant it could be. Service / staff, tattooed girl behind the bar was lovely but the rest of the staff really need a lesson in hospitality (a smile makes a difference and costs nothing) they were very stern looking as if they'd trod in something unpleasant. At one point we had 6 empty glasses and 3 empty bottles, 3 members of staff having a chat but noone came and collected. Go for the food but don't expect much from the staff!

We'd used the ferry a few times before deciding to try visiting the inn for dinner. The decor is lovely and the drinks choice good, although there was a mix up with the menus. I ordered a soup of the day to start, and checked there was no dairy involved, before ordering a tofu dish for my main. When the food came out and I bit into it I realised it was not tofu but halloumi - which is dairy! I ate the rice portion of my dish and gave the halloumi to my other half. When leaving, we informed the waitress that my dish contained cheese and not tofu, she told me I had an old menu and put it in the bin, though it is strange she didn't notice mention this when I ordered. I reminded her I couldn't eat dairy or cheese so it was a serious mixup, to which she told me "halloumi isn't real cheese". Safe to say we haven't revisited since and don't plan to.

Really nice spot and not expensive to moor up (I think only £8 for the night) The waitress who served my husband was a bit dour but maybe she was having a difficult day or just not used to friendly Yorkshire people. Free pub wifi was accessible on the boat because of where we were moored (quite close) which was a bonus. Heading back to Stokesby from Reedham, we decided to moor here again and were able to meet up with friends who live locally. They had never visited the Ferry Inn and were impressed. We had dinner here which was good and bad. My husband's steak with pepper sauce was exceptional, my buttermilk chicken burger became chicken goujons because they'd run out of fillets but it was decent. Sadly, my daughter's battered fish was a bit slimy; she couldn't eat much of it. All in all, we would come back again next time we're on the Broads but mostly for the location rather than the unsmiley staff.

The best pub and eatery in Norfolk by far. Location is perfect with a broadside view and plenty of moorings. Dog friendly, plenty of seating inside and outside, great staff who actually know what they’re doing. Full ticket, A* (And the food is the best for a hundred miles in any direction!)

Hi. Ideally placed Food Pub for the Stokesby mooring. Very dog friendly if you like dogs, tough if you don't. There were no steaks available to order on our visit. 3 guesses where they went !!. The food we had was excellent. however, it was a bit of a sting in the tail to be asked for a mooring fee after spending nearly 80 quid in the pub. Would deffo recommend as the quality of the food was spot on.

I have never ever been to an establishment where the staff were so miserable and unhelpful. Wi didn't stay long and won't be back.

Don't bother going here unless you want the mood of your outing ruined, honestly felt so uncomfortable as soon as we entered the establishment and will not be entering ever again.

Miserable unwelcoming staff member more interested discussing whether to have next tattoo or go to disney world for a third time to someone she obviously knew at the end of the bar, so was not wanting to be disturbed by nuisance paying customers

We moored at the Ferry Inn at Stokesby planning to eat there and stay moored overnight. The woman behind the bar (dark haired and skull tattoos?) was far from welcoming. Never smiled once and just gave one word answers to our requests. It made us feel quite awkward and not wanting to stay. We had our meals which were quite nice but decided to leave straight after we had finished. To be honest, we begrudged paying her the £8 to Moor there and chose to go elsewhere. She stood at the end of the bar moaning to someone else that throughout the summer there had just been annoying parents and kids that didn't want to be there (we didn't have kids with us). We had visited last year and didn't get that miserable welcome. But we certainly wouldn't visit again

Location, perfect, food lovely. Ideal for boaters, but some of the staff can be inexplicably cold, unfriendly, and their customer service skills leave a lot to be desired. You need to ‘welcome’ customers, as opposed to making them feel like a chore. A smile would certainly help.

Moored up for the afternoon popped into the King's Inn for a pint for me and a larger for er indoors, we had a miner problem with the boat, so I phoned our boat yard t the sent a mechanic to sort out the problem, so we decided to stay moored up for the night paying another visit to the pub having dinner there as well as a drink, food was very good. Just before we left we popped back into the pub for breakfast they didn't have black pudding on the menu but we asked the night before if er indoors brought her own black pudding in would they add it to the breakfast which they did that's customer service for you breakfast was excellent, returning to the broads next may 2024 will definitely be returning to the King's Inn.

What a wasted opportunity! A brilliant location and a near-captive audience with the boats. But the staff were not welcoming, the food was below average and the prices are high. £16 for a roast lunch should buy some quality, but this was vacuum packed meat, Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshires and microwaved veg. Really awful. This week the boatyards are reporting that this was a ‘terrible year’ for Norfolk Broads holidays. I’m not surprised if this is what our holidaymakers have to pay through the nose for. Please do better or you will go out of business.

A real gem of a pub. Set in a beautiful location just off the beaten track, there's plenty of parking even if you're in a boat. It has a very laid-back, de-stressing atmosphere that makes time irrelevant. And I love how the Ferry Inn combines my two favourite things - alcohol and cake. Definitely worth a visit.
