Had not been here for a couple of years and friend suggested here for lunch. Lovely setting with nice views and a lovely sunny day. Staff were vey friendly and very professional. Nice menu and decided just to have couple of small plates. The pulled lamb flatbread was very tasty and well presented and we had side dish of patta bravas. It was a lovely meal and we had a nice afternoon in nice location with good food, nice staff. Would go back again. Was a lovely couple of hours.

The food is on another level compared to anywhere else in St Neots - fresh, tasty and quality produce. Whoever has written a bad review is obviously not used to eating this kind of food. Highly recommend and I have lunch here at least once a week - top notch!!

Absolutely excellent. We were well looked after and accommodated on a busy Bank Holiday lunchtime. Food absolutely delicious. Love the reserved outside seating set up. Thank you once again. We shall return very shortly.

Wonderful location and staff super friendly and helpful but food didn’t live up to expectations. Salads were disappointing and looked like they’d been put through a mixer, not very appetising. Toilets could have done with a bit of cleaning attention and some hooks for handbag would have been nice.

Such a beautiful location and that’s why they charge what they do , it was the worst fish and chips i’ve ever been Served , over cooked and batter dark. The latte was like warm. Gone downhill since 2023 when it was so much nicer

We stopped off here while visiting St Neots. Lovely spot on the river, decent parking. The food, we had small plates, was really nice and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Nice walk along the towpath after.

The setting is beautiful by the river, the service is efficient and friendly. The food is great, especially the Mac 'n' cheese and Korean Sticky Chicken. Oh and did I mention they have the biggest Gin menu I've seen anywhere outside of speciality London bars! Fantastic local pub. They do wood fired pizza's from Friday night through the weekend with some tasty options. They do offer coffee and cake during the day too.

A group of us arrived on a sunny Saturday afternoon without a booking fully expecting to be turned away! Instead we were greeted warmly, warned of the waiting times and shown to a great outside table. The food was absolutely excellent and the service was fantastic.

Dropped in for a refreshing drink. Did not eat but many were having a meal. It looked delicious. Staff very courteous. Lovely location.

Knowing that they stop taking orders at 8:30 pm, my wife and I had a walk down arriving just after seven pm to be told they aren’t taking orders and will only serve reserved tables. Who ever is running this pub is obviously making too much money !! A midweek summer evening and they only serve from 6pm to 8:30pm. Ridiculous

Fantastic food, friendly and quick service. Great location, on one of best walking routes in Eaton Socon. The Menu was a decent size and food came in <30mins. Good portion and tasty. Great amount of outdoor seating, I would recommend, however I would walk if possible as parking is limited.

Had a selection of small plates with my other half. The Pulled Greek Lamb flatbread was out of this world. So too the Brisket Croquettes and Tempura Prawns. A lovely venue with gorgeous scenery, great food and a decent selection of drinks.

Great place to meet and catchup with family. Wasn't made to feel like we had to hurry to place our order. Had a great 1st coffee...then ordered a second but had to wait for them to go source more beans. (Which only took 10 minutes) so we had more time to chat. Had a fabulous lunch. Thank you to all the very friendly staff for making our family catchup so wonderful. Travelling from Aus and having this opportunity was awesome

Tepid food I ordered beef burrito it flavour was ok..ish my partners food was exactly the same but all our food ranging from cold to tepid,the gravy was served in a badly chipped mini bowl it would be nice to think it was just unnoticed but it had more than one chip in it, considering the price is not the cheapest around I had hoped for better after discovery the river mill,never mind back to the drawing board.

I do love this place. But the last two times I've come here to eat I've noticed I've been over charged, not by alot, a few quid. Don't notice until I check later. So makes me question how many times this has happened, without me noticing. So I'll definitely double check before I pay next time.

Sunday lunch in a lovely setting, our waitress was really helpful with food choices and intolerances. The veggie roast and pudding was delicious. What really let the place down was the disgusting and dirty toilets. There was no hook and I really didn't want to put my bag down anywhere in there. Came out feeling not clean; such a shame.

The staff were friendly, the beer and food was very tasty and reasonably priced. We came in early spring and there had been quite a lot of rain, but we still had a lovely walk over the river and back.

Went to River Mill for a Sunday roast on Mother’s Day and couldn’t fault it! Staff were all really friendly, the food was great and the setting was lovely. The cauliflower cheese (my fave!) was the best I’ve ever had!! Really enjoyed our visit - thank you!

Shame we were one of only two tabk s of diners. Food served was excellent, service was good, parking good but the pub was nearly empty. Limited menu, what was available was really nice. It was a Tuesday night in February so the lack of clientele was only to be expected. Lovely location, would certainly return at a busier period.

Popped in unannounced for lunch with elderly father after visiting nearby Sacred Stones burial area. The staff were fantastic, attentive but not too much as to become annoying. Drinks were brought to our table quickly despite the busy lunchtime trade - a nice pint of Icebreaker for me and a wine for father. Delighted to be able to have some crunchy yet flavoursome whitebait as a starter - fresh from the South West coast. Even happier to be able to have Moroccan Lamb as a main. Wow! Totally tasty and a wonderful dish. The lamb was cooked perfectly, some crunch on the outside but pink in the middle. Giant couscous, pomegranate seeds, fresh coriander - delicious. Thanks to the team, it was lovely.

Really good wholesome and well thought out dishes. Sunday roast was possibly the best I've ever had out, I would happily recommend a meal here for any occasion.

All the staff who serve us were lovely, the food is fantastic and has some different options, would definitely recommend.

We moved to St Neots March 2023 & I never knew that this place was here, until my partner brought me here on a dog walk. As soon as we entered, we were greeted & asked, had we booked, we said no, but we could have a dining seat or soft seating in the bar, so we sat in the bar. We had a couple of Pimms & a couple of small snack meals to share, which were Mac & Cheese & Scotch egg & sweet onion & garnish with a portion of chips. The food was fantastic & our 7 month old Cockapoo was made to feel right at home, they gave him treats & water. The staff were so friendly, can't wait to go back again.

Nice restaurant by the river, good food.

Every time I’ve been here the food has always exceeded my expectations. Today I had the river mill burger which was one of the best burgers I have had. The rosemary salted chips were the best I’ve ever had. I’m gluten intolerant and the menu caters for me and other dietary requirements which is excellent. My only criticism is that the range of gluten free options seems to have drastically reduced recently. There used to be a separate gluten free menu which they no longer have. The symbols have been incorporated into the main menu. This is fine but I found the small plate selection for GF extremely lacking. I would still recommend going but maybe not for small plates /tapas as a GF person.

Went to the River Mill for the works crimbo doo a week ago. The bar area was really nice, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were upstairs for the meal and it was well laid out, food was really nice. I found it rather hot upstairs as did a few others and for some reason they had a disco blasting out for the start of the meal, which, tbh, I found really off putting and ruined the whole evening. No-one was dancing so I didn't really see the point. Apart from that, it was a really nice place to go. The car park isn't very big so we made sure we were early to get a spot.

First time at The River Mill as we're moving to the area and we'll definitely be back - an absolutely exceptional Sunday roast dinner with my hubby and in-laws, we ordered roast lamb, turkey and beef between us and all were mouthwatering. Really reasonably priced, and we had brilliant service - really friendly and polite. Only downside was nothing on the dessert menu came with custard and it's winter so would have been a nice option. But everything was delicious so haven't knocked down the food score. It wasn't particularly busy despite being a Sunday so it feels like a hidden gem that others need to discover. Well definitely be booking again when we move house soon.

Had a lovely meal tonight, looked after really well by James. Thank you. Loved the special starter sesame-seeded crispy squid, and my wife loved her rib eye steak seasoned to perfection. I had the Mediterranean-style lamb, which was lovely. The chef Lee came out to speak to us and was genuinely interested in our view of the food. There are many restaurants where the chefs hide. To be fair, it was a quiet night, so probably was able to. However, nice touch and I felt listened to :-)

Second time we have been to this restaurant. I recommend booking in advance. Lovely setting along the river. Today's Sunday lunch was very good and we all enjoyed our visit. The only reason we didn't give a 5 star rating is we all agreed the roast potatoes need improvement. Personally I would like the gravey in a gravey boat so that it can be applied to the meal more sparingly. All in all will be back in the future. Thank you all.

Went with my visiting family as a party of 8 (including my baby granddaughter). The service was amazing, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was fabulous - so good that my 3 month old granddaughter fell asleep and wasn't fazed at all). Excellent visit and lovely walk along the river afterwards. Ver highly recommended 👌.

The staff were so pleasant and polite, and the food was amazing. The vegetarian roast was the best I’ve had. Really pleased we chanced it, highly recommend, bonus that dogs are welcome too.

The best part of Autumn is Leigh’s Sunday lunch ! The roast beef was the best! My husband had the pork rib which was also brilliant . Margaret Ann was as always so friendly and efficient.

Arrived at at River Mill as a half way meet. We arrived for drinks and food and it was really lovely, staff and friendly and they made us feel very welcome. Wouod recommend and visit again

We attended the comedy night. Very much a funny night with a good curry. The comedians did great to interact with the crowd and read the audience.

First-time visitors to this lovely place. Food was delicious and the staff were all great 👍 Made for a lovely atmosphere and we really enjoyed our visit. Food was well cooked and presented, so top marks all round ladies 👌 looking forward to our next visit when we are down St Neots way again.

Had roast dinner which was excellent, and staff were lovely as usual. Don’t usually like to out for roast dinner as never as good as mine, but this was really tasty, not many places that do a good roast these days, so try a roast at the rivermill, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed

This place is ideally situated for a coffee/cake break in the middle of a long walk from St Neots and back. I went there with a friend on Tuesday 12th for exactly that - something we have done more than once before - and previously enjoyed the coffee, the cake and the welcome. On Tuesday 12th, we tried to go in the usual door - which is in the middle of the outdoor seating area - to be told we had to go to the door at the other end of the building and be seated by the staff inside - which we did. Once inside, we had to wait(not that long, it must be said) for (who appeared to be) the manager to finish his conversation with a colleague before noticing us. He asked us to go to the end of the bar to order coffees from the team at the desk (now 1 x metre from the door we were not allowed to use to enter the building). We said we would like to order coffees and cake - and sit outside. We were then told that "Ah - if you want to sit outside, you have to go to the bar to order and pay" Talk about 'wish you hadn't bothered' - and 'how to make customers feel unwelcome'. So we walked all the way back to St Neots and had a very nice coffee from 'Bohemia' - sat outside - order taken at the table - personable server with a sense of humour - lovely coffee - and paid our bill at the table as well! Will we go back to the River Mill? I can't currently think that we would

Had a great lunch at the River Mill, stunning surroundings and very friendly and efficient staff. Had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had- BBQ Pulled Pork Beef Burger with perfectly crispy shell, soft core fries. Looking forward to getting back there hopefully on a warmer day for a cool pint in the sun. Only tiny thing was I wish there was more table and chairs to sit at to eat as as I didn’t find the picnic tables particularly comfortable, but that’s only a minor snag. Really enjoyed my experience today and very reasonably priced for outstanding quality.

Came here for thw first time on a really hot September week day for my birthday. Great location by the river with plenty to chose from on the menu, the food was outstanding. Shout out to waitress Karen who made our experience even better. We will be back next time with friends

The food is amazing and it is lovely to sit outside on a summers day. The staff however are miserable. They don’t talk to you or make you feel at all welcome, especially the females as most times we have been served by them; it comes across as though they don’t want to be at their job. Not a good impression on the place itself.

Compliments to the chef on the most superb seafood chowder I have ever tasted . I only wished I lived nearer so I could go back again . We were staying in the Campsite near bye and walked along the river and came across The River Mill. A fabulous and very well organised restaurant. Everything about the place was outstanding. Ordered Thai beef salad. Came absolutely drowned in over salted sauce. Soggy and awful. £15. The korean crispy chicken again over salted and drowned in a bbq sauce. Two pieces £9. Sitting in a pool of wet sauce and chopped iceberg. Complained twice eventually got £5. Discount. Service was painfully slow and the place was empty. Won’t be back and won’t recommend

Sat right next to the river, 2 minutes from the lock the setting is fabulous. On arrival we were greeted at the outside entrance. You get seated outside at a bench unless you've previously booked, there's no wondering around or choosing your own table. Orders are taken at the table, not the bar. The food is very "beefeater" style with a limited menu. Basic furniture. Plenty of drinkers outside on the benches enjoying the sunshine. Great for a quick pub grub stop, but I wouldn't make a dress up evening of it.

Went today, lovely lunch as as being in this industry can tell its cooked with chefs that are well trained to follow recipes. Great atmosphere to and lovely setting. Being seated and welcomed was great by I think the manager. Only reason I gave 4 stars for service is because when I asked what soft drinks waitress she didn't know, asked what wines they have didn't know then asked have they any drinks menu and was told they have a gin menu but it's not very up to date. However there is a QR code on all menus where you can find drinks but wasn't made aware. Would still return though as was a great lunch and venue and service wasn't that poor, just lacking knowledge and guidance.

My main comment is that the staff are lovely, all very young, polite and helpful....but very poorly trained in the dining room. Basic things like we bought a faily expensive red wine and it was just plonked on the table, left for us to pour ourselves (not even cap removed) and no offer of a taste to check it first. Desert comes with spoons but no forks. This isnt the staffs fault and it needs sorting as it leaves the dining experinece very lacking

Great atmosphere and service. Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The food was good, but not quite what I was expecting based on the menu description. Lovely anyway though.

Sraff not trained properly. Initially we were brought the wrong starters. Seafood chowder was more like a stew but delicious. Dusted squid excellent. Veg gyoza was lovely but fish & chips below average. Toilets are not being cleaned properly - just a wipe over it seems - needs a DEEP CLEAN as floor edges filthy.

Went there twice and no food both times due to private functions

went out for a nice evening walk and stopped at the pub only to be told that the kitchen closed at 8:15.we were not the only group after food that evening,so potentially the owner missed out on an earning opportunity.

The man on the door was very friendly and the Girl who saw us to our table was very welcoming but only to be told they no longer do Sunday roast dinner. The toilets were disgusting - dead flys everywhere which could have been vacuumed...

What a wonderful find! Only a short cycle from St Neots camping and caravan site. Food was truly outstanding and such creative, visually appealing plates. As a vegetarian I was spoilt for choice; vegetable gyoza were best I'd ever had. Excellent prompt service even on busy summers evening and our lovely waitress Margaret Anne looked our us fabulously. Can't recommend enough.
