Have been here for the first time and our experience was just lovely! The staff was very friendly and kind, even looked after our dog. The view was great and our fish and chips was amazing. Definitely will come back.

Really enjoyed our visit for lunch here. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Food was delicious and a gorgeous cup of tea in bone China cups. Highly recommend.

Popped in for drinks and cake on a bright and chilly afternoon. Haven’t been a cafe in Clacton for probably over 20 years; was very impressed with this place! Kind, friendly and welcoming staff, lovely cakes and good coffee too. Couldn’t believe the reasonable prices either. Clacton needs more places like this one. Can highly recommend.

We were recommended by friends, we went for breakfast and we can recommend it, the food was fantastic and the staff were great, we will be returning, really enjoyed ourselves.

Met great friends here with local knowledge -I was told to expect delicious food with eccentric ambiance. Loved the food- I had fish pasta with avocado and beetroot salad, and followed with excellent Banoffee pie and Espresso. Michelle, daughter of the chef provided excellent service, charm with added wit! I will return bringing my husband next time.

Staff were so helpful & friendly, dogs were allowed in the back room & given water & sausages. Food is cooked fresh, tastes lovely and the prices are very reasonable

Ordered one Chocolate Fudge Brownie Frappé Mocha and one Salted Caramel Frappé. What I got was two Fudge and I am not sure if both are coffee or one is without. Got from them twice before and those orders were fine. So I'm not sure what happened.

Food rubbish as usual cold but was hungry

My wife and myself enjoyed a wonderful lunch, which was - in complete contrast to the previous negative comment - served by friendly, happy, smart staff. The food was hot, and perfectly cooked. The cafe was clean, and the price was extremely reasonable. This was our first visit to Freds Cafe, but certainly will not be our last - we were both highly impressed. (Maybe the writer of the previous negative comments - Aine - should maybe ponder if THEY were the problem? Certainly we found that the staff here could not have been more pleasant or welcoming. This was one of the best cafes we had in Clacton sadly no longer open I used to go here as often as I could

This cafe wins the prize for rudest customer service in my whole lifetime. There is no excuse for rudeness I understand they might have had a bad day but no need to take it out on customers especially as my husband had just died, quite upsetting for them to be so unwelcoming. We will stick to Flagstones such a different experience
