I agree with previous reviews about setting and facilities - all great. We had visited on previous occasions and always enjoyed the experience. However I am guessing that we caught the Bedingfeld Arms at their leist desired serving time, and definitely on an off day. Our timing was for 6.30pm on Sunday 10th of November. Upon arrival, which was fortunately slightly early, we were shown to our table and advised that we had seven minutes to order, and that 60% of the menu was not available. We had not been advised prior to our arival (they had our phone number) of the tight timing or lack of menu items. Food was ordered - 3 burgers and one Pheasant dish as this was all they had. Upon arrival of the food the waitress, who was clearly under pressure from the front of house lady and the Chef, was dealing with who had what relish for which burger etc... when the front of house lady came over and lambasted the waitress saying something about the Chef needing to be informed propery - no idea what that was about, but it was seriously cringeworhty and unprofessional to have been holding that conversation in front of us. We duduced that the Chef was the worry for the staff at front of house, and it seemed that he and the kithcn staff just didn't want to be there. The food was good, and the waitress and bar staff extremely pleasant - they were apologising for the Chef and the restrictions to our meal - which gave us a good idea of where the pressure and unpleasant atmosphere was coming from. I have written directly to the Bedingfeld Arms via there website, but as of two weeks later I have had no reply. Seeing all of the other reviews, which mirror my previous experience, I would just recommend avoiding a Sunday evenings.

We came to the Thomas Paine Hotel restaurant for my wife Birthday diner. It appeared we were the only guests in a restaurant, although some other guests were expected later. Right from the start we were greeted by Mr Chetal, venue owner, who made us feel very welcome. He made us feel more than just guests. Soon afterwards came his wife, chef, who explained teh menu. We got a mix of British and Indian cuisine, all very tasty and elegantly presented. Really nice experience, true to the hotel's motto "Come as guest, leave as a friend". We will definitely come back, both for taste and experience.

We have been to Cafe Verde a lot over the years. Currently they have an excellent team in there. Good friendly chef and pleasant staff out front. One young lady ha s a very pleasant demeanour and remembers our names and that one of us is gluten free, she is very on the ball and a credit to the business. Recommended for Sunday roasts and weekday meet ups

Hours are wrong on Google. Says open until 22.00, but closed at 16.00. Real shame. Was looking forward to it as gone past many times.

We always stop at this place as a family on our way to our caravan and have breakfast but today we didn't need breakfast but just the toilet and it was disgraceful that they had a gatekeeper for the toilets and you could not use them until you bought something. I saw so many families with kids having no other choice but to buy something just to use the toilet. It's best to be transparent and take down the signs you currently have and put up some that state PAY TOILETS FROM 1.00. Coming here for breakfast never had this issue but today saw that this is the kind of business that makes parents pay for their kids to use the toilet.... Such a shame.

Since we moved to Mattishall in Feb 2018, we have used the Swan for family and friends visits. The food is to die for and, the menu is always changing so, no getting the same boring stuff week after week. Sunday in autumn, winter is carvery and, what a carvery. One price gets you a large plate plus, a sweet of your choice. One thing i like is, being a vegetarian, there are always several meals to choose from including a massive quorn veggie burger. The portions are way above normal as my Dad can vouch for and all freshly cooked. Their speciality pies are much sought after and, if you don't get in quick, they're gone. Sonia and Peter run an excellent pub restaurant with a cheerful, friendly and helpful staff for which nothing is too much trouble. If you're passing through, I recommend stopping at this friendly eatery.

Not been for many years so thought go here for a change. The area you sit in is comfy and clean but that it. Ordered a pot of tea and carrot cake. Tea was tasteless. I love tea! And probably one of worst tasting I had. The carrot cake was generous size but was over cooked. Not nice. Then had a latte, with a biscuit. The latte again was tasteless and weak. The biscuits I've no idea what it should be, I assume shortbread but was not nice. Sorry but won't be returning in a hurry, was too disappointing .

Nice, clean and presentable cafe. Menu not pretentious. Food tasty and not over priced. Staff friendly and efficient.
